THE CAST Joey de la Rua (The Cop) Joey de la Rua is a student, actor, and director. He was last seen in A View From The Mountaintop at the Coral Springs Center with Next Stop Broadway. After playing Parsons in 1984, he is thrilled to once again join Outrè for Reservoir Dolls. Educational theatre credits include: Barry Champlain in Talk Radio, Madame Arcati in Blithe Spirit, and Katurian in The Pillowman. He has also directed Polaroid Stories by Naomi Iizuka.
Nicole (Nikki) Dikun (Ms. Pink) Nicole (Nikki) Dikun is a local south Florida actress. Her recent credits include Alysha/Ensemble/Dance Captain in Outre Theatre Company’s production of American Idiot. Other credits include Marquee Theatre Company’s Thoroughly Modern Millie as Muzzy Van Hossmere, as well as appearing in Dreamgirls and Hair with MNM Productions.
Rita Joe (Jo Cabot) After some holiday fun in City Theatre’s production of Winter Shorts, Rita Joe is delighted to join this group of bad girls here at the Outre’ Theatre!!! With a B.F.A. in Theatre from the University of Central Florida, Rita has had the opportunity to work as a Performer at Walt Disney World and has enjoyed performing on stages around the world. Samantha Kaufman (Ms. Blonde, Fight Choreography) Samantha Kaufman has her MFA from Florida Atlantic University. She has since finished the Professional Circus Training Program at the Actors Gymnasium in Chicago, IL. Her most recent project was playing the Dauphin and Westmoreland in Henry V with the company Babes with Blades in Chicago, of which she is an ensemble member. She is an Advanced Actor/Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors and an Intermediate Actor/Combatant with Fight Directors Canada. Some of Samantha’s favorite South Florida FAU productions roles include Lona Hessel from The Pillars of Society, Alithea from The Country Wife, Sunny from The Last Night at Ballyhoo, and Cordelia from King Lear. Bridget Parente is so incredibly excited to return to Outre as Ms. Orange in their production of Reservoir Dolls! Some of her past credits include American Idiot (ensemble), Stop Kiss (Callie), and Gruesome Playground Injuries (Kayleen). She is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University where she received her BFA in Theatre Performance. Bridget would like to thank the cast and crew for a wonderful rehearsal process as well as her parents and boyfriend, Mike, for their unconditional love and support throughout her journey thus far.
Daryl Patrice (Nice Gal Edie) Daryl Patrice is living up to her badass potential as Nice Gal Edie! She recently played a Stepp Sister in Dreamgirls at Broward Stage Door and Grace in Area Stage Company’s An Octoroon. This is her second show with Outré this season, after playing Tillotson in 1984. Catch her bouncing around an elementary school near you in Fantasy Theatre Factory’s Bananas, Books, and Pancakes. Thanks to Outré for giving her 2018 an incredible start! Connie Pezet (Ms. Blue) Connie Pezet is thrilled to be working with Outre Theatre Company again, where she was seen in their production of 1984 as the News Anchor. A proud South Florida native, she earned her Associate of Arts degree in Theatre from Broward College, and her BFA in Theatre Performance from Florida Atlantic University. Elizabeth Price (Ms. White) Elizabeth Price recently appeared in New City Players’ Twelfth Night, Island City Stage’s Son, Theatre Lab’s This Random World, and Outre’s The Normal Heart. Other Florida credits include Reborning (Carbonell Nomination - Best Actress; Silver Palm Winner - Outstanding New Talent) and The How and the Why at Arts Garage, and as Jack in Thinking Cap Theatre’s The Importance of Being Earnest. She received her MFA in Acting from Florida Atlantic University where she now teaches Acting and Directing. She has worked as an actor and director in theatre and film in Los Angeles, New Orleans, Dallas, and Austin. Her most recent directing venture, Straight White Men at Thinking Cap, is nominated for a Best Ensemble Carbonell Award. She can be seen next in The Accident with Primal Forces at Empire Stage in May.
Krystal Millie Valdes (Ms. Brown) Krystal Millie Valdes is so grateful to be working with Outre for the first time. She is a BFA graduate from New World School of the Arts. Previous professional theatre credits include Molly Aster in Peter and the Starcatcher (SlowBurn), Catherine in Proof, Laura Wingfield in The Glass Menagerie and Izzy in Rabbit Hole (New City Players), Columbia in Rocky Horror (Tampa Theatre), Rosie in Cabaret and Thelma in Gypsy (Broward Stage Door), Kat in Soundbite (project theatre), and Corie in Barefoot in the Park(DBPlayhouse) and Zelda Fitzgerald in her one person show, Ladies are Never Fools. Film credits include “93 Miles”, “Why Leah Left”, “The Last Kiss”, and “Dark Deco”. Krystal is a founding member and company manager of New City Players. PRODUCTION TEAM Noël Barry (Stage Management) is very happy to be stage managing this season and joining this crew of Dolls! This is her fifth production at Outré, having previously stage managed American Idiot, 1984, Bed and Sofa, and Goblin Market. She earned her BA in Theatre Arts from Mars Hill University in Mars Hill, NC. She also spent two years studying theatre at FAU. Professionally, she has also worked with The Crest Theatre in Delray and with Broward Stage Door Theatre. Up next, she is currently co-directing Footloose for the Kirk Singers at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale and will be back at Outré for their production of Hedwig & the Angry Inch. She would like to thank Shannon and Skye for the opportunity and support. She would also like to thank Kristine for being an amazing ASM, the production team, and all her fellow Dolls for all their hard work (#pancakesanddiamonds). She also thanks her friends and family for their love and continued support. Christina Battaglia (Costume Design) is humbled to be asked to return for her second production with Outre Theatre Company. She recently did the costume design and construction for American Idiot with Outre and is excited to be working with their innovative leadership team again as well as some very talented actresses. Christina received her Bachelor’s degree in Technical Theatre, with a concentration in costume design, from Florida Atlantic University in May 2017. Finally, Christina would like to thank her parents, Kim and Vincenzo, for their support and patience, and her dog Rocky for keeping her side of the bed warm on some very long work nights. Guy Haubrich (Lighting Design) is a local lighting, projection and sound designer who graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a BA in Design & Technology, and an MFA in Performing Arts Production Management. Lighting and sound credits include: She Loves Me, King Lear, Company, Agnes of God, Omnium Gatherum, and Once Upon a Mattress for FAU; Parade, Chess, and Next to Normal for Slow Burn Theatre; American Idiot, Tommy and The Normal Heart for Outré Theatre Company, Seasons Greetings and Marisol for Broward College, and Venus for The African Heritage Cultural Center, among others. He is thrilled to be working with Outré as their Technical Director and resident designer. Kristine Madden (Assistant Stage Management) is so excited to be back with the Outré team after stage managing Thrill Me and Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. A South Florida based stage manager, Kristine has worked with various theater companies such as Marquee Theater Company, Jan McArt’s New Play Reading Series at Lynn University, Boca Raton Theatre Guild, Entr’acte Theatrix’, and The Performance Project. All the thanks to Shannon, Noël, Skye, this amazing production team and wonderful cast for letting me go on this adventure! Shannon Ouellette (Direction, Photography) recently graduated with her Master of Fine Arts in Acting and is truly proud to present this awesome piece, and even prouder of these badass ladies. Let’s get a taco.” Todd Silver (Sound Design) is currently enrolled in Florida Atlantic University pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Production and Design, with a concentration in Audio. Previous work done with Outre Theatre Company was Audio Engineer/ Design for their production of American Idiot. Todd is also the Technical Director of Alpha Psi Omega Theatre Honor Society on FAU’s campus. He’s worked as Audio Engineer for FAU’s Productions of Once Upon a Mattress, Into the Woods and was Audio Designer/Engineer for FAU’s The Spitfire Grill. Also, Todd is currently employed at Parker Playhouse and Coral Springs Center for the Arts. He wishes to eventually go out and tour with a production as their Audio Engineer. Skye Whitcomb (Direction) is a career director, actor, and educator. As Outré’s Artistic Director, Skye has directed over three-fourths of Outré’s productions since its inception, and looks forward to the day when science will make sleeping unnecessary. Past directing credits include The Violet Hour, Thrill Me, Back of the Throat, tick, tick...Boom!, Mr. Marmalade, and The Clearing. Previous acting credits include Pozzo in Waiting for Godot (Evening Star), Iago in Othello (Outré), Jim in Lombardi (Mosaic), and Patrick in In Development (New Theatre). He would like to thank this beautiful cast for their dedication and passion, Cindy (for late night rants), Shannon (for adventuring and frantic musings), Jennipher (his pillar of patience), and coffee (without which nothing is possible).

DIRECTOR’S NOTES Other than the playwright herself, I am the first woman to direct this show. Frankly, I think that’s messed up. I am honored to be at the reins of such an amazing group of women, and I am thankful for the individualized assets each one of them has brought forward to tell this story. “I know you. I know your work, I know your reputation. I know you as women.” I so appreciate and enjoy watching each one of you. And Joey. And I am grateful that we have the opportunity to play together with this challenge. It’s been a beautiful, bloody, darkly comic, waking dream for me. But why hasn’t another woman (other than Erika Soerensen) directed it and given it the voice it needed? Maybe because it’s still a cis-white-male world. Look around. Isn’t it? Because it still looks like it from my point of view. I don’t say this with the intent to “bash” my male counterparts in any way (thank you Skye for being my truly amazing AD, Chris for being my brother at home, & Uncle T+Pop for being steady rocks!) or any other male on this project or in my life for that matter; I’m thankful for their assistance in raising this issue. However, it seems that sometimes the rest of the world often forgets that women have any power or opinion at all (except for us women, of course), having fought for something as simple as the right to vote, for equal pay, and to finally standing up for ourselves and saying “RESIST” & “#metoo”. Why do we have to yell louder than men for anyone to pay attention, and why do so many of them have to call us bitches afterward for speaking so loudly? Tarantino set this job to be pulled off by six men, but who says it couldn’t be women doing it? Can’t women be criminals, both fragile and violent, and feminine? They certainly might use different tactics to pull off a job. But consider this: how many husbands have had to pass the map to your wife to get you where you needed to be — and finish the job? Is that a stereotype? Maybe. But women run for president and female drug lords exist, so with a spectrum like that, I really think a group of tactical, experienced women could pull off a diamond heist. Diamonds are a girl’s best friend. Come on. Flipping the script on its head means that we are no longer in a man’s world. Biggest thank you to Erika Soerensen, who has taken something originally created by a man (Tarantino) and spit it back out sporting lipstick and a bra-holster. So, this is not your papa’s Tarantino. It’s yo’ mama’s. Does the idea of a powerful woman alarm you? If so, I encourage you to examine that feeling and ask yourself why. And then, I encourage you to get ready for some amazing, loud, badass b!tc#3z women to change your mind. Thank you for being here, and for supporting live theatre. South Florida is brimming right now, and I’m proud to be here.

The Colored Museum ABOUT THE PLAY “The Colored Museum” is a comedy/drama musical that takes a historical look at the African American experience through a series of museum pieces. Over the course of eleven scenes, the stereotypical characters explore the position of African Americans through songs, monologues and satirical wit. This theatrical exploration of African American literature (A Raisin the Sun), music (Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, etc.) and culture will excite audiences both young and old, yet provoke serious reflection on the current state of the African American experience. The Colored Museum premiered at the Crossroad Theater Company of New Jersey in 1986. Within six months, the play found a new home at the Public Theater in New York City. The Colored Museum was later performed at the Royal Court Theater in London, England, beginning July 29, 1987 and in a production by Talawa Theatre Company in October 2011.
THE PLAYWRIGHT George Costello Wolfe (born September 23, 1954) is an American playwright and director of theater and film. He was raised in the state capital of Kentucky, Frankfort. As a member of the Frankfort High School Senior class of 1972, he was one of the leading lights of the drama club and a writer for the literary magazine. Wolfe left Frankfort in 1972, but returned many years later as a favored son. After years of hard work and determination, Mr. Wolfe became an honored Broadway producer, director, and writer, working with Joseph Papp, and now on his own. He won a Tony Award in 1993 for directing Angels in America: Millennium Approaches and another Tony Award in 1996 for his direction of the musical Bring in ‘da Noise/Bring in ‘da Funk. He served as Artistic Director of The Public Theatre from 1993 until 2004. Mr. Wolfe was one of those responsible for the hit Broadway show, “Jelly’s Last Jam”. He is now considered one of Broadway’s most respected producers and directors.
THE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR Herman LeVern Jones, from Raleigh-Cary, North Carolina, is a forty-five year veteran of African American Theater. Mr. Jones received his Bachelor of Arts degree in African American Theater and English from North Carolina State University, his Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), and has worked towards his doctoral degree in Performance Studies at New York University. He advanced his career by working under the guidance of Broadway Producer Woodie King, Jr. as the Associate Producer for the National Black Touring Circuit, Inc. of New York (NBTC) from 1983 to 1999 and the late Larry Leon Hamlin as Special Assistant to the Producer (Co-Producer) of the 1989 to 1997 National Black Theater Festival (NBTF) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Mr. Jones is currently on the National Black Theater Festival’s Board of Directors. To date, the National Black Theater Festival has generated over $700,000,000 for the city of Winston-Salem. Mr. Jones has also had the privilege of working with many influential individuals such as Dr. Maya Angelou, Oprah Winfrey, James Earl Jones, Denzel Washington, Samuel L. Jackson, Esther Rolle, Sidney Poitier and others.

THE COMPANY TheatreSouth Atlanta, Inc. dba Herman LeVern Jones’ TheatreSouth (TSA or TheatreSouth) was founded in 2007 as a Georgia Non-Profit in Atlanta, GA. TSA’s mission is to educate, enlighten, strengthen, and enhance the local talents through theater arts. The company’s motto is “Healthy theater for your heart and soul!” Over the past 5 years, TheatreSouth Atlanta, Inc. has cultivated the community with several projects. The company’s first major gift came from AstraZeneca pharmaceutical in the form of $10,000 USD to produce “A Rude Awakening” written by the CEO of the Association of Black Cardiologists. In 2008, TSA continued its projects doing a celebration for Yolanda King, hosting the AACT National Board of Directors Conference performing “Ghosts Stories of the Blacksmith Curse”, and receiving DeKalb Council for the Arts Grant for our African American Theater: Past Present, and Future display and performing “Images.” TheatreSouth Atlanta, Inc. was highlighted in 2009 for working with Georgia State University (GSU) to produce and direct “A Raisin in the Sun” and then created summer internships for the GSU students to work at the summer arts camp. In 2010, TSA national tour of “MADAM” the musical based on the life and times of Madam C. J. Walker ran for a total of 10 months. TSA permanently relocated to South Florida in 2014 and has since cultivated a variety of projects in partnership with Brigitte Keane and Jeff Tucker of EarthSave Miami, Inc. such as the I Have A Dream Musical on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. starring Broadway’s Jahi Kearse (Florida International University, South Miami Dade Cultural Arts Center, the Coral Springs Center for the Arts and the Phichol Williams Center), The Eve of Jackie starring Broadway’s Chester Gregory (Adrienne Arsht Center), The Colored Museum written by renowned playwright George C Wolfe (The Deering Estate), and The Phantom of the Old Opera House written by Joseph George Caruso (Phichol Williams Center). All of our projects are family oriented and for all ages of men, women, and children who look to be entertained and educated through the arts. As we continue to build a stronger brand in our community, we also hope to build a community brand that illustrates to the world, art lives in South Florida!
