COEUR D’ALENE’S HIGHER EDUCATION CAMPUS has been a shared community vision for more than 30 years. The Higher Education Campus brings together the satellite campuses of five higher-learning institutions, all in one interconnected campus along the shores of Lake Coeur d’Alene and the Spokane River. The working relationships between these colleges provide students the opportunity to pursue a quality education without having to leave Coeur d’Alene.

North Idaho College • 208.769.3300 • nic.edu NORTH IDAHO COLLEGE OFFERS associate degrees and certificates in a wide spectrum of college transfer and career and technical programs. Founded in 1933, NIC is a comprehensive community college located on the beautiful, tree-lined shores of Coeur d’Alene Lake and the Spokane River, complete with a sandy beach that is open to the community. The college also serves as a center for cultural and civic engagement for the citizens of North Idaho, offering free concerts, lectures, an art gallery and other events. NIC has received national recognition in many areas. The college was named the 2018 Entrepreneurial College of the Year by the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NAACE). In 2020, NIC was the host college for NAACE’s Makeshift 2.0, a national Makerspace Ecosystem Summit. The college’s ongoing commitment to entrepreneurial education is reflected by the North Idaho College Venture Network, a hub of campus resources and services on NIC’s main campus designed to help students and regional community members launch, build and grow their businesses and product ideas. NIC is also one of two colleges in the U.S. selected to be a lead school in the New Amazon Small Business Academy. Classes, beginning in April 2020, cover the fundamentals of online business strategies, marketing, merchandising, inventory management, and more. The newly constructed Bob and Leona DeArmond College and University Center opened in 2019 on the NIC Campus. The center, home to NIHE (North Idaho Higher Education) is a collaborative effort between North Idaho College, University of Idaho, and Lewis-Clark State College to provide accessible higher education student support and instruction to the North Idaho region. NIC serves Idaho’s five northern counties, providing accessible, affordable, quality learning experiences that offer pathways for students to achieve economic and social success. THE UNIVERSITY OF IDAHO COEUR D’ALENE brings excellence in higher education to North Idaho through degree programs, research, outreach and professional development. In collaboration with North Idaho College, U of I offers 15 bachelor’s degrees in Coeur d’Alene, including the recent addition of Computer Science in support of the region’s burgeoning tech sector. Several master’s and doctorate degrees and certificate programs are also available locally to meet the needs of working professionals. Exclusive to Coeur d’Alene is U of I’s Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA), a 22-month graduate program, tailored for area business leaders, with classes meeting just one weekend a month. The center supports K-12 learners through the Dig’nIT summer camps and internships, reading proficiency initiatives, and water science excursions. By cultivating innovative research and economic development, the University of Idaho Coeur d’Alene is helping to shape the future of North Idaho.

LCSC IN COEUR D’ALENE (LC-CDA) provides bachelor’s degree completion programs to North Idaho residents in collaboration with North Idaho College. The cooperative articulation between North Idaho College and LC-CDA allows students to take all lower division courses through NIC and upper division courses through LC-CDA. Degrees offered are: Business Administration, Business Administration with accounting emphasis, Management, Business and Communication, Communication Arts, General Studies, Justice Studies, Nursing (BSN), Social Work (BSW), Interdisciplinary Studies, and Bachelor’s Degree programs for Applied Science and Applied Technology Associate Degrees. LC-CDA also offers Pathways for Accelerated Certification and Endorsement (PACE) for elementary and secondary education degrees and certifications.

IDAHO STATE UNIVERSITY IS PROUD TO be a member of the North Idaho Higher Education Campus in Coeur d’Alene. ISU offers several online programs, which include undergraduate and graduate programs, throughout Idaho. ISU’s College of Pharmacy offers professional clinical pharmacy rotations and community services in North Idaho for students in its Doctor of Pharmacy program. In addition, the School of Nursing offers several graduate program options online, including a Ph.D. in nursing, which has a research emphasis dedicated to improving the delivery of healthcare. The Doctor of Nursing Practice prepares clinical leaders for comprehensive nursing practice. The MS in nursing prepares graduates for positions in education or leadership. BOISE STATE UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF SOCIAL Workoffers a Master of Social Work degree at the Higher Education Campus in Coeur d'Alene. BSU identified a need to provide a graduate program in Northern Idaho to include the five northern counties to meet the needs of rural areas. Many of their graduates live and work in their own communities.

Collaboration with local agencies provides hands-on direct practice experience for our students during practicum. Individuals with a Bachelor of Social Work degree are eligible to apply to the Advanced Standing program. Two options are available for the completion of the Master of Social Work program, full-time (one year) or half-time (2 years). Boise State University is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Classes are held face to face.
