Q. Thank you for interviewing with us. Tell everyone who DJ Alden is?

A. Thanks for having me. I’m a 14-year-old DJ and music producer from NYC. I’ve been DJing professionally since I was 7 years old and eventually got into producing music.

Q. How did you get into Djing?

A. My dad grew up in NYC and has been a DJ for over 30 years, so I wanted to follow his footsteps.

Also, my dad worked in the night club business so my parents would use the club spaces to have my birthday parties and it was always so cool to be able to hang out in DJ booths.

Q. Tell us about “Next Big Thing NYC “?

A. It’s a show about 8 teens who are following their passion on their quest to the top, from rising star to international stardom.

“Being a resident DJ for CirKiz, it’s a teen dance party in NYC, which is a company my family owns, is one of your greatest accomplishments?”

Q. If you can go anywhere in the world where would you go?

A. South Korea because my mom is from there and I always wanted to go.

Q. You have been on the Teen Choice awards tell us about that experience?

A. Yes, I got to DJ at the gifting suite 2 years in a row and it was a lot of fun. I got to meet a lot of cool people. It’s always fun to go to LA because weather is nice, and I get to see my family and friends.

Q. What are some of your other hobbies?

A. I like basketball, track, gaming and I like to draw also.

Q. Who would you consider a DJ Legend?

A. Avicii is one of my favorite DJs… he’s an icon. He left this world too soon, but he left behind so much great music for everyone to be inspired by.

Q. What is one of your greatest accomplishments?

A. Being a resident DJ for CirKiz, it’s a teen dance party in NYC, which is a company my family owns.

Q. What projects are you working on?

A. I’m working on a few things: I just started working on a song with Eden, one of the cast members of Next Big Thing NYC. She wrote the song and I will work on the music with her. I’ve also been working on a few songs of my own and laying down some sets to prepare for a possible virtual dance party.

Since we are quarantined, all DJing events for the rest of the year has been canceled or put on hold so I don’t have any live DJ gigs coming up… but usually, I have anywhere from 1 to 7 DJing events a month.

Q. Where can your fans follow you?

A. Mainly on IG - @DJ_Alden or Sound Cloud and Mix Cloud under DJ Alden or Alden Song
