ALL COUNTY FIELD HOCKEY

Coach’s Note:

Hannah has the skill to move the ball carefully and successfully up the right side of the field, using her sideline well to beat defenders. Her quick reactions and decision combined with her hustle from one end of the field to the other, enabled us to maintain possession of the ball, particularly in the offensive circle.

Coach’s Note: Brin Khanjar is known for her speed, dodges, and quick shots on the forward line. Brin capitalizes on every play. She cuts into the space or runs onto the ball to quickly collect and create an opportunity. She weaves and replaces with her other offenders in an imaginative and creative way. When Brin is in the circle, her shots are quick and accurate. If she doesn’t get the first shot, she quickly collects the rebound and tries again. Her feet are always right in the circle! She is a part of defensive corners, offensive corners, and a member of the 1v1 team and 7v7 team for overtime. Brin has 14 goals and 6 assists for the 2022 season. One of these goals was against Fallston!

Coach’s Note: Peyton led our team scoring 11 goals and having 1 assist. As a quick player she outrun defenses taking the ball down the field as a formidable shooter. She is aggressive, has great ball movement skills and can shoot from any angle.

Coach’s Note: Katie is an incredibly hard worker. She showed up to practice each day ready to improve her hockey game. She is enthusiastic and is a fierce competitor. I can’t wait to see what the next two years bring!

Coach’s Note: Kelsey Jennings weaves in and out of players as the offensive midfielder. Her dodges and quick distribution to her teammates is key to our success offensively. If Kelsey does have the ball taken away from her, she channels into another player or earns a tackle herself. Kelsey also has a fantastic shot. Her drives and lifts are very accurate and quick! This leads to her success offensively. She is an asset to the North East field hockey team. She is a part of offensive corners and a member of the 1v1 team and 7v7 team for overtime. Kelsey has recorded 9 goals and 4 assists for the 2022 season. Kelsey has had 3 game-winning goals.

Coach’s Note: Katie’s presence and role cannot be overstated on both sides of the ball. She is among the fastest and smartest midfielders in the county, dispossessing opponents and feeding balls to our offensive line. Wherever the ball was on the field, Katie was there and always made something positive happen with it. Much of our team’s success is a result of Katie’s relentless skill, speed, and presence on the field. Katie started and played in all 14 games while also competing in Cross Country and qualifying for the State Cross Country meet.

Honorable Mentions:

Coach’s Note: AnnMarie is a key player and is wall on defense. As one of our captains this year, AnnMarie is on the field helping her players move around the field. AnnMarie has a wide skill set and picks up drills quickly.

Coach’s Note: Lizzy was again the rock of our defensive unit which allowed us to play 7 games straight without conceding a goal. Her ability to read passes, dodge and carry the length of the field, and come up with big saves made it difficult for opposing teams to gain entry into our defensive circle. Her strong defensive play allowed us to spend a significant amount of time attacking up the field. I believe that she is hands down the top defender in the county.

Coach’s Note: Jillian is a dominant defender as well as a shooting threat on corners. She had 2 goals, 2 assists and 4 defensive saves. Jillian is an aggressive, fast and tactical player who can transition the ball from defense to offense quickly.

Coach’s Note: Katie Goodwin flies across the field making huge stops. Her block tackles and jabs come in clutch to stop any opponent coming down the field. If they do get past her, she is right back in the play within seconds. Once she does make the tackle, she quickly distributes to an open player. Katie is an essential player for the North East field hockey team offensively and defensively. She is a part of defensive corners, offensive corners, and a member of the 1v1 team and 7v7 team for overtime. She has started every single game this season. Katie has recorded 1 goal for the 2022 season.

Coach’s Note: Anna held herself to a high standard and helped those players around her to develop as well. Her ability to accept the pressure that comes with being the last line of defense is what made her a great goalie. Anna came into this season ready to play every minute to the fullest, and she did!
