E ARE FINALLY OUT OF SCHOOL!! However, the grind never stops here at KIWIN’S! This month was FILLED with events, so thank you so much for your endless dedication! Prepare yourself for this month’s newsletter because it is very different!! I went for a more visual take on it and because of that, it’s a little bit longer (but it takes faster to go through)! A spark of inspriation just hit me, and I decided to go with it! I hope you guys really enjoy this one because it was loads of fun to make. I’m so grateful I get to try out new things every month and really get in touch with my creative side. This reminds me why I ran for corresponding secretary in the first place! Thank you so much for your endless support in my ongoing journey. Love,
Cecilia Nguyen

member of the month
liem phan
Liem Phan is absolutely one of a kind. His dedication in KIWIN’S is out of this world. He has been to the majority of service events every single month. He is one of the most friendliest faces in KIWIN’S. His passion, friendliness, and courage is something that everyone should experience. Liem will never pass a chance at saying “hi” to a new member and ask them about their day. He is one of the members that make me happy that I stay in KIWIN’S. I am absolutely sure that with Liem as a member, the future of Fountain Valley KIWIN’S will forever stay bright.

hour most dedicated
tiffany truong
Hola que pasa Tiffany en la casa! Tiffany is June’s Hour Most Dedicated with over 25 hours of service. She has served this club for 2 years, and she amazes me every month with her outstanding dedication and her love for service. Seeing her at almost every event this month has made me extremely proud. I’ve seen her become more comfortable, and she has grown to be such an outgoing person. I hope to see her spirit and dedication more throughout this term Congratulations Tiffany! You rock the house and rock Fountain Valley KIWIN’S.

spencer chuong
FV KIWIN’S Hall of Fame recognizes Spencer Chuong (‘20). As a freshman, Spencer has been one of FV KIWIN’S favorite members. There is nonstop talk about how dedicated and kind he is. Without him, FV KIWIN’S would not be the club that it is today. On behalf of the club, we would like to thank him for his KIWIN’S journey. “I would like to say that I want to show people that inactive people from 0 could go to 100 just with a little volunteering.” Spencer Chuong Member Fountain Valley High School | CNH KIWIN’S District

FV KIWIN’S Hall of Fame recognizes Carol Wann for her endless dedication in KIWIN’S. Starting as very shy freshmen to an outgoing leader throughout her high school career. Fountain Valley KIWIN’S could never thank her enough for her KIWIN’S Journey. Can you walk us through your KIWIN’S journey? “My KIWIN’S journey was basically, during freshmen year, I was debating what club to join. I joined a few clubs like Make-A-Wish, KIWIN’S, and Freshmen Commission, and I went to all the meetings, but the one that stuck to me was KIWIN’S because I walked in, and, basically, the meeting room was really weird because they made us do this cheer. Then after that, I went to the first social, but I wasn’t too active because, as a freshmen, I was still a super shy person. After going to more events in December, like Tree Lighting and Winter Social, I realized that the
board members were really inspiring people, and they were the first people I met, who weren’t my age, but tried to put an effort into getting to know me and helping me meet new people, so that’s the reason why KIWIN’S kinda stuck out to me. I still wasn’t too active, but, soon enough, Appointed Board applications were released, and I decided it was time to take a risk, so I applied for Tech Chair. I wanted to go for Activities, but I just thought I wasn’t good enough for it, so I thought, ‘Okay, I’ll just go for Tech.’ It turned out to be a position that was really suitable for me, and I was told through my website and through my work, people were able to see my personality, and that inspired me to always put my personality in everything I do, because that’s when I know that I’ve done the best job and the best kind of work. After that, my KIWIN’S career just went above and beyond, and I tried out new things that I didn’t think I could do. I ran for Vice President, which was a big stretch for me, when I was really hesitant for the whole first term for what to do next year. In the end, I chose Vice President, and I went for other things like a divisional board. And then, soon enough, I became President. And as President for my final year, I really wanted to give back to the club that made me who I am, so I worked really hard throughout the whole term to do things that would make the members happy because the members are my source of happiness. So whenever I could see that I made a member smile, it would really brighten my day. So my whole life became making my members happy, and from there I just worked to be a good President that the members could look up to. My main goal was to inspire others to become leaders through my work, and I think I was able to do that because a lot of people say that I inspire them, and that makes me really happy that I could accomplish my goal by the end of my KIWIN’S career.”
