The City of Martin and UT Martin welcomes UTM students and families

UT Martin invites your family to join us for Family Weekend 2018. We have a great weekend of events planned for our students and their families to enjoy. Friday night includes a Food Truck party with live music at Martin’s downtown Virginia Weldon Park. Saturday will kick off with the Bowtie 5K/1 Mile Walk followed by a “Donuts with Deans”

reception at the Martin Coffee House. A huge tailgate party will lead up

to a clash on the gridiron between your Skyhawks and the visiting Moccasins from UT Chattanooga. We will wrap up Saturday night with a Drive-In Movie by Pacer Pond featuring “Avengers: Infinity War”. Sunday will feature a student led non-denominational worship service followed by the Bowtie Brunch in the UTM Dining Hall.

UTM Family Weekend • September 14 - 16, 2018

Historic Martin, festive all year Historic Martin, a Tennessee Downtowns Community, has events yearround that are geared for the entire family and offer many opportunities for the UTM student population to be involved in. Traditionally, storefronts and streets take on a Halloween feel in October as events vary from costume contests and games at a Monster Mash to the Great Pumpkin Parade that includes children trick or treating downtown.

The month launches with community spirit focused on the county-wide Relay for Life which focuses on supporting those helped by the American Cancer Society. November brings the Veterans Day Parade with members of Rolling Thunder taking to the streets to honor past and present members of the military. And the second weekend has shops all over town opening their doors for a preview to the Christmas

season with gift suggestions and party ideas. Businesses are then readying for a month long celebration of Christmas, beginning with a weekend of Open Houses and a tree lighting ceremony. The Christmas parade and a chance to take a peek at the annual Santa’s Village, along with several other holiday events and activities, will make everyone feel at “home for the holidays.”
