Mouser Cabinetry Wood Specie Availability Mouser Cabinetry offers ten different wood species and door materials for our Premier Series and Centra Series cabinets. *Hickory is a dense, heavy hardwood Select Alder wood specie is a straight with closed and open wood grain. The grained, medium density hardwood wood’s natural color has a wide array featuring a color range of light brown of hues ranging from white to chocowith reddish or peach hues. Natural late brown. Quarter Sawn White Oak: - An open grained wood with grain patterns that are produced by quartering the log and cutting each quarter in a unique sequence. Distinguishing characteristics include ‘rays’ or ‘flecks’ that appear in random patterns across the grain of the wood giving the appearance of ‘tiger stripes’.

Cherry ranges in color from white to red and on to a deep, rich brown. Exposure to natural light causes the color of the wood to darken over time. The natural wood colors will deepen, turning the darker areas of the wood a deep, reddish brown while the lighter areas darken to shades of yellow and brown.

Red Oak is a very strong, open-grained hardwood that ranges in color from salmon pink to white. It is sometimes streaked with green, yellow and black mineral deposits and may contain knots and grain veins that are naturally characteristic of the wood.

Maple is a hardwood with a tight, uniform grain that tends to have very little definition and varies in color from white to cream to light brown with pale streaks of gold, pink, and brown throughout. Maple may exhibit small areas that are reminiscent of bird’s eyes and curly grain and may contain random small black mineral streaks.

Walnut: An open grained wood with long, wavy grain patterns and coarse texture exhibiting occasional mineral streaks and pin knots, Walnut has a rich, warm color, ranging from a deep chocolate brown to dark purple-brown to a light reddish-brown.

Paint Grade Maple is a hardwood with a tight, uniform grain that tends to vary in color from white to cream to light brown with pale streaks of gold, pink, and brown throughout. Paint Grade Maple may exhibit mineral markings and small areas that are reminiscent of bird’s eyes along with curly grain and may contain more variation in color.

MDF+Plus is a medium density fiberboard (MDF) of pre-consumer recycled wood fiber that utilizes a formaldehyde free adhesive system to create a water resistant product with superior MDF properties. MDF+Plus provides the same smooth surfaces, consistent board thickness and non-expansion, non-contraction properties of traditional MDF material.
