ENGAGEMENT SUMMER | VOL. 4 10

Carnegie Library served as the backdrop for Alyssa and Dan’s classy, elegant, and (let’s be real) dramatic engagement session. It came only after Dan popped the question on their three-year anniversary under the guise of taking photos for a gallery wall Alyssa wanted for the living room of their new home. “He designed the ring with help of L.Priori Jewelry, booked [a photographer] to photograph the whole thing at Valley Forge National Park, and then surprised me with all of our closest friends and family at one of our favorite Conshohocken restaurants for an engagement party,” Alyssa tells us.

The couple first met on Hinge, “swiping right worked for us,” Alyssa proudly states. Their fi rst date was “in the Manayunk section of the city at a Thai restaurant called Chabaa.” Now, their favorite activity as a couple is “making a home-cooked meal (probably on the Blackstone) and then getting cozy on the couch binge-watching a new Netflix show with our cavapoo Zoey and cockapoo Winnie.”

Alyssa and Dan plan on marrying the weekend of their 5 year anniversary late this November at the Heinz Chapel & Wintergarden PPG. Alyssa says their favorite thing about planning their wedding so far has been “finding vendors together and putting together a vision of our day. We have some high expectations from our friends and family to throw the party of the year!”

Hang your wedding gown by the loops found inside your wedding gown that are connected to the sturdy side seams; never hang it by the fragile shoulder seams that can stretch or sag under the weight of your gown.

Avoid storing your wedding gown in a plastic bag (even a clean sheet is better than a plastic bag) or in a vacuumsealed, plastic-wrapped container because plastic bags emit fumes that can yellow your wedding gown and shrink- wrapped containers trap moisture that can mildew your wedding gown. Also, the static electricity from the plastic plus the trapped moisture combine to set wrinkles that cannot be pressed out of your gown.

Avoid storing your wedding gown in the attic or basement where there are extreme changes in temperature or humidity.

Inspect your wedding gown personally before it is put into the container, which should be a completely acid-free, archival-quality wedding chest lined with fabric or acid-free tissue.

What started out as a rainy wedding day quickly turned sunshiny and bright, making this Tennessee wedding truly special. With an elevated traditional look, the intention was to create a little French country flair, making the design heavy on the timeless neutrals and whites with pops of blue. Stunning florals served as the backdrop for the ceremony and dressed the stairwell inside the mansion. The couple also created a crest for their wedding to touch the small details of the day, like their drink stirrers, signage, and late-night pizza boxes.

Late night snack: pizza in custom pizza boxes!

The bride's cake was the traditional wedding cake fl avor, something simple but elegant with their wedding colors and crest.

The groom is a huge LSU fan and wanted an LSU cake from the beginning, but then they won the College World Series so of course the couple had to incorporate that as well. The flavor was pink lemonade.

And that wasn’t all! All the food was out of this world. For cocktail hour they served tequila-infused watermelon, chicken and waffl es, braised short rib and tai shrimp tostada. During the reception, they served pork tenderloin, four cheese penne pasta, crab cake sliders, gourmet mac and cheese, balsamic pulled chicken and much more like a seafood bar with everything from oysters to shrimp to snow crab.

REAL WEDDING SUMMER | VOL. 4 20

Their love story started in college where they were neighbors in the same apartment complex. Tres is a twin, so one day McKenna told his twin she thought he was cute. “The next thing I knew, he reached out and asked me on a date. The rest is history.

We lived in Cleveland before we moved to Nashville. This is where the whole proposal idea started! Nashville at the same time, but all were there for different reasons. Both of our parents were not supposed to be in Nashville to make it less suspicious! … My sister was coming into town because her husband was supposed to have ‘work’ in Nashville! It all started when a dinner was planned for that night with just ‘her sister,’ but of course it was more people than that! My sister brought up the idea of meeting us at the Parthenon to take pictures before dinner! Well, we get a taxi to the Parthenon and my husband sneakily gets my sister to call when we get close so that she can say they are waiting at the front at the steps! We both get out and go walking to the front! I ask, ‘Where is my sister?’ This is when I knew what was happening because my husband brings me off the sidewalk into the grass and says, lYou know how I have been acting strange these last couple of weeks?’ Then he drops to his knee and asks the question that everyone always waits to hear… ‘Will you marry me?’ One of the best moments of my life occurred in front of the Parthenon! He still claims that my parents and friends are not in town and makes them all decline my calls! We get to the restaurant to a big surprise room of everyone I wanted there to celebrate! It was such a special day and was everything I ever wanted and more.”

Our two mini golden doodles Boomer and Stella got to come and be in the pictures prior to the wedding! Which was so special to us because they are our whole world and more!

Fashion Stylists Deserve an Award, Here’s Why

WITH JENNI, STYLIST & FASHION INFLUENCER, WITH TARASOVA

It’s about tiiiime we acknowledge that there is a heck of a lot more that goes into your wedding look than meets the eye. I mean, come on, it takes way too long to get ready for work in the morning, trying to pair everything together just so and make sure you look your best…well, darling, imagine doing that for one of the most important days of your life. Yes, we’re talking about your wedding day.

Now hear me out on this one: it’s not *only* about the dress. What?! I know, I can hardly believe I said it, but I said what I said.

Although, to create the perfect look (and you want it to be perfect, don’t you?!) it has to be about *everything* — the hair, makeup, accessories, and shoes. So enter fashion stylists, a vendor category that is growing in popularity and becoming one of the most sought-after vendors when planning a wedding.

That’s why we got with stylist and fashion influencer Jenni from Tarasova for the skinny on all things fashion stylists and your wedding (read: wedding day, wedding weekend, pre-wedding events, and everything

in between). But first let’s dish on what a fashion stylist is and how they’re not just for celebs (ahem, we like to look good, too, ya know?!).

Jenni tells us, “As a fashion and personal stylist, my role extends far beyond just dressing clients. I specialize in trend analysis, out fi t coordination, and overall image enhancement. My services, however, are not limited to just these aspects. I also excel in personal shopping and extensive wardrobe alterations, providing a holistic approach to meet each client’s unique needs. Additionally, my expertise extends to assisting brides, ensuring a personalized and memorable experience.”

It’s your day, so personalized is really the only way to go IMO. However, sometimes it’s hard to explain what it is you want, so how can you share your desires with your stylist? Jenni explains, “Clients frequently share their desired image, whether inspired by Anne Hathaway or a specific movie character. My expertise lies in translating these inspirations into a personalized and achievable style. I work closely with clients to replicate the essence of their vision, ensuring a tailored and authentic representation that aligns seamlessly with their individual preferences and lifestyle.”

Inspiration comes from everywhere; for instance, you might be vibing with Anne Hathaway’s makeup, but love Zendaya’s fashion sense, and then there’s Sabrina Carpenter’s hair. That’s where your stylist comes in, making sure that they piece together everything it is you love and are

looking for to make one cohesive look that will have jaws dropping when you walk down the aisle on your wedding day. “My commitment is to translate their vision into reality by sourcing and curating elements that align perfectly with their preferences, down to the finest details,” Jenni says.

SUMMER | VOL. 4 30

Not to mention, fashion stylists know the trends and microtrends, so they can point you in the right direction if you’re searching for a trendy look for your wedding. Take 2024, for example where she tells us 50s classic string pearls are back as well as A-line skirts, 80s power shoulders, 90s semitransparent fabrics, knee-length skirts, and 2000s low waist, banana strapless tops, and bootcut jeans courtesy of Gilmore Girls; then there’s minimalistic ballerina and gen x soft club and so much more!

Henri Winata Bespoke Menswear

In your words, what does it mean to be a bespoke designer?

Working as a bespoke suit designer has grown into a hobby and passion for me. I’m captivated by the beauty of the detail, each curve of the suit matters to the final look. Once you see the curve, you cannot unsee the beauty of it. The process of making a bespoke suit itself is a fascinating aspect; getting to meet a new individual with diverse body type, characteristics and preferences; discussing style, cloth, cutting and draping. Overall, it is a passionate job for me.

What inspires you?

When it comes to designing a suit, the jacket, trousers, waistcoat, and shirt don't allow for a lot of design variation. However, attention to detail and precise cutting are crucial to achieving the desired outcome. My inspiration comes from the bespoke suit journey in Savile Row- London and matching it to the client's unique preferences and lifestyle, which I discover through a comprehensive two-hour consultation.

What’s the most iconic look you’ve created?

The concept is to provide bespoke menswear in Indonesia, where the process of making clothes goes through the initial fitting stage or “raw fitting” (where only 10% of the clothes are finished), also we use the “full canvas” technique for suits, and all the materials we use are 100% natural material

(no polyester, no plastic). In this way, wecanproduce comfortable apparel while incorporating intricate detailing that imbues the customer with confidence. Our vision is to offer Indonesians a personalized bespoke suit experience that is akin to the one in Savile Row- London. We strive to provide the best quality of bespoke suits that clients can find here in Indonesia.

What is your favorite fabric to work with?

Speaking of fabrics, it's challenging to choose a favorite amongst the vast selection of thousands of brands available. However, I do love working with heavyweights British Wool, such as wool from Dugdale Bros & Co, because it really has good drape. Also, what truly excites me is the prospect of experimenting with a new fabric, particularly high-quality options like fabric from Loro Piana, Scabal, and Carnet.

What’s the most iconic look you’ve created

I recall crafting a French pagoda shoulder for a well-groomed gentleman, and the experience was exhilarating. However, I yearn for the opportunity to create a threepiece suit with a unique flair, complemented by a beautiful silk tie, fancy socks, and wellcrafted oxford shoes.

This December wedding in Australia aimed for a textured minimalist elegance with a touch of romance. Neutral tones were in abundance and the florals consisted of whites and ivories — phalaenopsis orchids, hydrangeas, spray roses, and playa blanca roses. It was the ceremony and process of getting married that was groom Kamil’s favorite memory, though. And for bride, Suzie shares, “The entire day felt like a blur, with everything happening so quickly. Amidst the whirlwind, my favourite memory was taking a pause at the beginning of the aisle. For about five seconds, I stood still, looked around, and took in the surroundings, allowing myself to be mindful of the true intention and significance of the day.”

REAL WEDDING
Suzie & Kamil

Susie wore a custom bridal gown by Leah Da Gloria. The style was Drew, the pearl vision, and it was complimented with a two-tier tulle veil. In the pursuit of carried profound significance. “It was an unspoken requirement that the dress had to be nothing short of perfect. The challenge lay in my uncertainty about materials and design preferences, turning the journey into quite a daunting experience. Crucial to my criteria was the necessity for the dress to seamlessly align with my personal style, characterised by a timeless and minimalist aesthetic. Accentuating my silhouette was of utmost importance, leading me towards styles that contributed to a serene and sophisticated appearance. The idea of the dress resonating with me on a profound level became my guiding principle. It transcended the pressure of conforming to predetermined expectations; instead, it was about uncovering a gown that authentically re that.” For her shoes, of course she wore the ever-popular Jimmy Choo (Love 65, Sandy Glitter), and says, “they were the most comfortable shoe ever! I never took them o

Consistent Suzie’s style, she aimed for a minimal and neutral makeup look with a subtle touch of sexiness. “The focus was on achieving a clean and understated appearance, emphasising natural beauty. I wanted neutral tones and soft hues to maintain a timeless and elegant aesthetic. To add a hint of allure, I wanted subtle dark tones around my eyes and cheeks for a touch of sensuality. The overall goal was to avoid any future regrets about going ‘over the top’ and ensuring the makeup would stand the test of time when looking back at our wedding photos. For my hair, I opted for an updo to showcase the open back of the gown, choosing jet black hair to complement the pearls on the gown, and my Mediterranean olivecoloured skin. [The result was] a youthful yet sexy updo.”

My advice for future couples is to prioritise honesty from the outset, articulate your core values for the wedding day, and practice consideration. Additionally, consider hiring a wedding planner. My biggest regret was assuming I could seamlessly juggle being a bride and planning a wedding simultaneously. As a project manager in the development and construction industry, I mistakenly believed planning a wedding would be a straightforward tasks. I was wrong. Oh, and ditch the traditional invitations and opt for virtual ones. Its not just a money-saver, its a total game changer.

The cake was almond amaretto with almond and hazelnut praline ganache. To supplement the cake, and considering the warm summer night, they offered guests a rich Belgium chocolate semifreddo consisting of mousse cake, a base of chocolate biscuit crunch, hazelnut praline and served with vanilla bean gelato.

I walked down the aisle while our harpist played. For our reception, we entered to an ensemble of 10 Lebanese drummers and one Zurna player. The group created a vibrant rhythm with their drums, accompanied by the distinctive sound of the zurna as we entered. The entire reception came alive with dancing and cheers, making it a moment that will stay etched in my memory forever. Our first dance was a choreographed waltz, we took almost 50 dancing lessons to learn our first dance. Our song was Fascination by The Columbia Ballroom Orchestra.”

Our love story unfolded on Bumble in early March 2021. After swiping right that Wednesday, a captivating fourhour phone call on Friday paved the way for a late-night dinner invitation. A minor hiccup with the location led to an unexpected one-hour detour, but it only added a charming twist to our budding connection. Eventually, he picked me up, and we shared an intimate dinner at the delightful Caffee Roma in Potts Point.

During our fi rst date, I felt an undeniable connection, a realisation that he was the one I would spend my life wife, I knew I was going to marry him. Our second date, a romantic Sunday lunch at Hugo's in Manly, unfolded amidst the rain, solidifying my belief that he would be the perfect father for my future children. Our journey moved swiftly as we decided to move in together within the fi rst week of dating, even purchasing furniture for our shared apartment in the same week. Kamil proposed to me three months later. The quest for the perfect wedding dress took its time, contributing to the delay in starting our wedding planning journey.

Taking charge, I meticulously planned every every detail of our wedding whilst attending weekly personal training sessions, dance lessons, shopping, fittings and managing a full-time job. The adrenaline-fueled journey unfolded within a remarkable four-month span, making it one of the most thrilling experiences of my life... Oh, and did I forget to mention that we also managed to buy furniture and move homes all in the whirlwind leading up to our wedding day.”

ENGAGEMENT SUMMER | VOL. 4 50

In the Kentucky Countryside sits the Hazelnut Farms, where barn meets ballroom, where this couple took their engagement photos. The black and white, vintagethemed session only took place after their meet cute and even cuter (if that’s possible!) proposal.

“We met at [a] car shop. I thought he was cute, so I came up with a way to ask him out. I was so shy. I put a note in Christmas fudge I had made for Shane. Little did I know he gave the fudge to his grandma. [Two] weeks later, after his grandparents had eaten the fudge, I get a text from him,” Dorothy shares with us.

After their first date of coffee and dinner, this couple continued seeing one another and spending time together. Their favorite thing to do as a couple is trying “new restaurants all around Louisville and surrounding areas! We enjoy great meals and interesting eats! I would say we are foodies!” Dorothy says.

As for the proposal, well, there’s definitely a story there. But, fi rst, Dorothy gives us some context so we better understand their proposal, saying, “For context, we had watched each other’s favorite TV shows prior to attending the first date. So on the first date we printed out quizzes to test each other on each other’s TV shows (I didn’t pass).”

51 CELEBRATE WEDDINGS

When it came to their engagement day, Dorothy continues, “Shane took me to our first date spot and made a quiz of all our favorite moments and inside jokes (I aced this one). From there he took me to our tree in Iroquois Park. … Shane had to make a trail the day before, so that the photographer could fi nd our spot. On this tree we have carved out all of our milestones, with the years corresponding to each

each one. Only, this time, carved in the tree was… “2023 Will you marry me?”. I, of course, cried. He got down on one knee and with a ring box he had made himself, opened it, and there was the ring of my dreams! YES! While at the park, his family set up a surprise at our house. They set up pictures, roses, and bridal things. But one of the biggest surprises was that he got my father figure Ron to come all the way from California to surprise me. We all had a magical dinner that night. It was [a] very special day! Dorothy and Shane plan on marrying at the Wood Haven Country Club in September. As far as wedding planning goes, Dorothy’s favorite part so far is “dress shopping!”

THE FACTOR

HOT

Gone are the days where photographers and videographers were the only vendors couples looked to for capturing moments from their wedding—now content creators are coming in hot as an additional vendor.

COVER STORY
via Content Creator So Bridal Social SUMMER | VOL. 4 60
Photographs

WWhen something is deemed “new” perceptions run strong and it can be viewed as either exciting or troubling. New ideas crop up all the time, and while we should have seen this one coming from a mile away, even we didn’t see it, let alone know it would be as big as it is today. Social media has seen its fair share of content creators and, for a while there, everyone wanted to be one or thought they could be the next “big” one. It took a beat for the title “content creator” to spill over into the wedding industry. Did they fit in?

The answer is quite simple: yes. Perhaps it was touch and go in the beginning — it was new and not everyone likes or even handles change well. However, there is no denying the incredible role content creators play in one of the most memorable days of your life: your wedding.

As with many vendors in the wedding industry, there are a plethora of things you want to look for when picking this vendor. For us, though, it was simple really — Samantha Gentile, owner and content creator of So Bridal Social, has an enormous amount of talent, but it’s her passion that really shines through. Gentile tells us the most warming thing that even had us gushing — “I remember a few of my favorite shots were where my couples didn’t even know I was recording. They were so enthralled in

what they were doing together, that nothing m

61 CELEBRATE WEDDINGS

what they were doing together, that nothing else mattered to them. I remember personally just forgetting that I was taking the content because it was so genuine and raw. I think little moments like that, they truly will treasure forever. Those are the moments that make me so grateful that I do what I do!”

Of course, Gentile loves what she does, but we had to know, how did she get here? Although, her answer may surprise you. “I don’t think I ever truly decided to become a content creator. I feel like it just happened, as weird as that sounds. All I know is that I just started doing it one day and it just snowballed into this amazing incredible opportunity to work with couples on one of the most amazing days of their life. I always did have a knack for marketing and social media that started before middle school for me. But live events and weddings, in particular, really didn’t become a big part of my life until college. Once I started in live events, I really haven’t left them. I think if you ask any wedding vendor, they’ll tell you the same thing: no one truly plans to be part of the wedding industry, it was just randomly thrust upon them!”

Every job has its ups and downs, but Gentile notes her favorite part of her job “as cliche as [it sounds] is just sending over the album to my brides the next day and getting that message back from them saying how much they love the content. When they cry, I cry! It really is such an honor to be asked to capture someone’s day in such a raw, emotional format. With content creation, it’s so personal and so candid that I really feel blessed that someone would trust me enough

to capture these intimate moments for them to have forever.”

Now, naturally, content creators aren’t a staple (yet!) like photographers or even caterers. It’s a very personal choice and many couples don’t opt to budget for content creators. Nevertheless, in Gentile’s “totally unbiased opinion” she thinks that every wedding should have a content creator if the budget allows for it. She explains, “I won’t lie... a wedding content creator isn’t an absolute necessity. However, it truly does give one more aspect to the day that you could take with you. I have had many former couples tell me that the only thing tangible that they were able to take away from their wedding day was truly the photos, videos, and content. To be able to watch your entire wedding day through a different pair of eyes is something that people cherish for long after their wedding is over.”

Content creators are a breath of fresh air and

Content creators are a breath of fresh air and it’s a trend we are so here for, which is why we wanted to be the fi rst wedding publication to have a content creator’s work grace our cover. We are making history by doing this, as well as bold waves, and we feel the same way as Gentile when she says, “It means more than I can put into words. I think this is a big step to show that content creators are creatives just like everyone else in the wedding industry. Many people have a false preconceived notion that content creators are just photographers or videographers without the expensive equipment or the years of training, which could not be further from the truth. I always say, we are not photographers, we are not videographers, nor do we want to be. Content creation is its own skill set and its own category that shouldn’t be in competition or compared to photography

and videography.” There’s no mistaking that COVER STORY SUMMER | VOL. 4 64

Content creation is its own skill set and its own category that shouldn’t be in competition or compared to photography and videography.” There’s no mistaking that photographing the cover shoot of our What’s Hot issue “is a big step into solidifying that content creators are a new section of ‘wedding vendor’ that is here to stay.”

This cover is one of the most influential ones we have done to date and we hope it resonates with people and is remembered and talked about for years to come. Of course, because it was photographed by an overly talented and deserving content creator, but also for the statement-making dress the model is donning on the cover. Milla Nova’s Atelier Collection features plenty

of dazzling designs, but in particular the Grettel dress is a notable contemporary twopiece made of lux Italian silk. Its draped neckline is on-point and reminiscent of ancient Greek designs. The selection was an excellent choice handpicked by the best in the industry, Bridal Reflections in New York, where many luxury wedding dresses find their wearer.

This dress, much like many of the exquisite designs Milla Nova and their couture line comes out with, are made to capture the attention of everyone around. They are attention-worthy and statement-making, simply put. Which is exactly in keeping with what many brides are looking for nowadays — to achieve that cover model look and

persona on their wedding day and with their photographs. That’s why we asked Gentile what she does to help her couples achieve that look. In response, she says, “I have been blessed with the most beautiful brides inside and out, and I think that any of them could be on the cover of a magazine. I really think that ‘cover model look’ comes from being confident and knowing you look absolutely amazing on one of the best days of your life.” It also helps to have someone behind the camera to help you see what you should already know — that you are beautiful and should be confident in that and in general!

She goes on to say, “I always tell all my couples that the camera can always capture what you’re thinking. If they are stressed, it is going to come through in the content. But when my couples are in the moment, they’re just looking at each other like they’re the only two in the room, that raw, romantic feeling shines through the cameras. Sometimes it even makes me tear up a little bit!” There was something that Gentile said in our interview that resonated with us and we won’t be forgetting it anytime soon. It was how she really “considers [herself] an extra bridesmaid who got the task of taking videos and having fun with the couple!” Our opinion: she’s living the very best (modern) version of 27 Dresses and officially made history doing what she loves — content creation.

The Spring 2025 Collection “A Suite Beginning...At the St. Regis New York” can’t help but make you nostalgic. Most wedding dreams and fantasies start when you’re at a young age. You dream of the day you’ll wear a fancy dress and sip champagne with your true love. It gives you all the feels when you think back on these days, especially when you’re planning your wedding. This collection was inspired by those reflections. “From dancing in the dressing room to jumping on the bed with the joy of a little girl, she embraces the excitement before stepping into the next chapter of her life. Whether preparing in a storied urban hotel like The St. Regis or dressing in the familiarity of her childhood bedroom, the anticipation and joy of walking down the aisle remain the same.”

There is no question of the fashion icons that are the very definition of elegance and have molded the very definition of fashion. In fact, many trends we’re seeing today are from those exact icons. This styled shoot was inspired by Audrey Hepburn but ended up becoming an Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe fusion, if you will.

pile of pearl necklaces in Sex and the City as Carrie Bradshaw.

It has long been acknowledged that, ever since the cinema moment of Breakfast at Tiffany’s, pearls are connected to Audrey Hepburn and her renowned style. Additionally, there was Marilyn Monroe, who rocked those Akoya cultured pearls her thenhusband Joe DiMaggio gifted her on a choker-style necklace. She was photographed wearing it many a times and this only further highlighted her elegance.

Now, while trends come and go out of style, pearls never seem to. In fact, in more recent times, we saw Sarah Jessica Parker sport a

The model in this shoot perfectly illustrates the elegant memory of these two icons in a more modern form. Sensuality exudes from the photographs, even while pretending her pearls are spaghetti and attempting to devour them. What she’s really devouring is her love for pearls and what they stand for, the elegant look they bring to the table — a vision that Simply Wedded executed to perfection.

Of course, what is a shoot inspired by these fashion icons if without a vintage-style wedding cake. Also trending now, the cake had vintage piping and cherries on the top. You simply can’t help but be transported back in time while also being inspired to bring these concepts to fruition for your own wedding.

This destination wedding in Destin was an obvious choice for Hanna and Jack who love the city and fell equally in love with the old Florida theme from the venue with its southern luxe vibe and stunning Emerald coast views. Desiring a romantic and classy wedding theme, the couple kept to a soft, neutral color palette with white, greenery and a hint of blush to not distract from the scenery. In keeping with this, their flowers were traditional roses with greenery. The little romantic touches didn’t stop there, though — the couple had their best friend get ordained and marry them, making their ceremony extra special. But for the most personal of touches, Hanna wrapped her bouquet — in her mother’s thirty-year-old wedding dress.

REAL WEDDING

Jack and I are high-school sweethearts! We met when I was 15 and he was 16 in summer school, shortly after meeting we realized we had a lot in common, one being fishing, which was the way to Jack’s heart! Eight years later we got married and the rest is history. We got engaged at one of our favorite places, Table Rock Lake. Jack got 15 of our closest friends to go down and be there for the engagement! I was completely surprised and had no idea that was about to happen, it’s a memory I’ll never forget.

Pearls for days!

Alongside a variety of menu options, Hanna and Jack picked Mahi Mahi and flank steak, because being on the ocean they noted how they wanted fish and knew a steak would pair perfectly with it. For dessert, their white chocolate and red velvet cake was a threetier all-white cake with roses and mini roses.

The most important factor for me was for my wedding day to not feel staged or stressful. I wanted the day to be smooth and effortless, and it was perfect! One of the reasons for doing a destination wedding was to only have our closest friends and family attend so the whole day is set around Jack and I with our favorite people, no pressure to impress over 250 people like a traditional wedding. We had 72 of our closest friends and family drive 12+ hours from Missouri/Arkansas to watch us get married.

“ 89 CELEBRATE WEDDINGS

My favorite memory from the day was walking down the aisle with my mother and father by my side and seeing Jack for the first time. We did not do a look and I’m so glad we saved our first look moment to be when I walked down the aisle, it made the moments after so special.

There is a certain appeal to a destination wedding, the charm, the architecture, and that was what this editorial was aiming to showcase.

This editorial was photographed at several unique and elegant venues, one of which being the luxury five-star hotel, One & Only. Another being Lazure Hotel & Marina, built in the Venetian Lazaret from the 18th century.

It is not unheard of for couples who choose to have a destination wedding to take their couples’ portraits traveling the area, perhaps heading out in a vintage car and having their photographs taken while exploring the city. In fact, it is more common that you might think, which is why the second venue, The Town Tavern, was the perfect destination, as it is symbolic of the spirit of the Montenegro city, Herceg Novi.

As the Herceg Novi Tourist Organization notes, “[The] partnership with Weddings & Events by Andreja Vuković represents a significant milestone in our endeavors. We are delighted to be the fi rst tourist organization in Montenegro to develop specialized materials promoting Herceg Novi as an idyllic wedding destination.”

of the Oscar for fashion in Rome, who excelled in styling models, from men’s tuxedos to several wedding dresses, carefully selected to perfectly reflect the environment and ambiance,” says wedding planner Andreja Vuković.

As with most weddings, this editorial featured three dress changes, each one more extravagant and stunning than the last. Each dress gave way to the wow-factor that so many brides are looking for. The first dress had a sweetheart neckline with an architectural design element on the left shoulder as well as a high slit that left room for many photo ops. You can’t help but be captivated by the second dress, though. The high-low dress has a long train, puffy sleeves, and an illusion element in the front. The

white, strappy, low heels were a beautiful touch.

Major trend alert: a colored dress for the party portion of the evening. While white is not going anywhere anytime soon (obvs!), as we saw with Ines di Santo’s New York Bridal Fashion Week runway show, colored dresses are in and we’re not just talking black, red, and blush any more. Which is why this sparkling purple dress is the perfect way to end the event. Of course, you can’t go wrong with more glam, so the model is wearing dangling earrings as well.

As for tuxedos, crisp black and white tuxedos are coming back full force, but to add a breath of fresh air to the look (a certain relaxed style, if you will) we are seeing the lack of a tie or bow tie. Rather, as this groom is modeling in, the top buttons are open.

B E S P O K E Wedding Cakes

Aren’t They All?

Bespoke is something done speci fi cally for a particular person, think custom details. When planning a wedding there are so many areas you can go bespoke, but the good news is that when you’re talking cake, you’re almost always automatically going to get a bespoke cake, if you are not purchasing a cake from a chain store, that is.

At our bakery, for example, every cake is a bespoke cake. It’s all about details, details, details. Wedding cakes should meet several criteria, in my humble opinion. Wedding cakes should be beautiful and taste delicious, first and foremost. But, they should also represent the couple. It should tell “their” story.

Now, I’m certainly not saying that a beautiful “traditional” wedding cake is not a wonderful option; however, I love the cakes that have a touch of something that identifies them as a

103 CELEBRATE WEDDINGS

as a couple. For example, we have created many cakes that have the family dog somewhere on the cake, peeking out or sneaking a bite. Or toppers that have an element of fun, such as “The Hunt is Over” for a couple who enjoy that sport. There are infinite ideas for bespoke cakes. We have done scuba diving wedding cakes, cakes with handmade, edible marbles for a couple that were soil scientists who met on a test site where the soil kept popping up marbles. We have done many Leggo wedding cakes and ‘80s themes, as well as many other unique and personal and custom ideas.

When it comes to wedding cakes, there are no rules, except to be what the couple wants! Plus, delicious and beautiful.

“This spring/ summer 2025 haute couture collection, Reflections, is all about our experiences, a reflection of our inner selves.

ENGAGEMENT SUMMER | VOL. 4 108

Paige and Chad set out to have a classy and dreamy engagement session at Venue 779, and it was nothing short of perfection. Accomplishing their goal, it was not only classy and dreamy, but also timeless and elegant. Not to mention, trendy what with Paige’s pantsuit that had a statement-making lace top. And, of course, the bride-to-be, Paige, tells us how their engagement photos “captured our love so well and we can’t wait to use them on our invitations!”

The vibes of their engagement session was quite different from the vibes of their first date, which was, as Paige calls it “simple and lowkey”. She says, “[We grabbed] some pizza and beers and then I surprised him by taking him to Le Smash. We both had a rough year prior, so I figured why not go smash a bunch of random things and let some emotions go. It was a great way to break the ice too! We continued to hang out the rest of the night, neither of us were ready for the date to end. We spent the night getting to know each other and asking as many

questions as possible. Questions and stories most people probably wouldn’t discuss on a first date. We both felt so incredibly connected that we had zero problem opening up to one another. We even ended the night dancing to a Chris Stapleton song in the middle of my apartment living room. We felt like we had known each other a lifetime. Our first date felt like a dream. It was perfect. And we both would admit that night we knew our forever was starting.” And it really was—hello, they’re engaged to be married!

As for their proposal story, it happened while they went for a cruise along the Platte River. Chad parked in their usual “thinking” spot and proceeded to tell Paige how thankful he was for her and their family (all that “lovey dove stuff ” as Paige sweetly puts it *wink*). Then came the ring and

the proposal. But Paige wasn’t so sure she was buying it. She explains, “It was April Fool’s Day, so I thought he was kidding. I made him get out and get on his knee, still wondering what the heck was actually happening! We savored the moment before calling our family and friends to share the exciting news!”

The happy couple plans on marrying in June 2024 and with a nod to their love of family, Chad’s uncle will be officiating, making it even more special for them. And there’ll be plenty of other ways family will be involved, even those who aren’t with them anymore. In fact, that’s another part of planning they’ve been enjoying. “Family is so important for the both of us. So being able to keep their memories alive at our wedding will be the icing on the cake,” Paige notes.

Darling, It’s Vintage and Modern

When it comes to timeless, vintage energy, there’s one icon that always comes to mind — Audrey Hepburn! There’s a reason apparel that was popular when your mother was your age is coming back in style. But there’s a blend of vintage and modern that has to happen and this session nailed it to say the least.

“I fully designed this project from a vision that I had for quite some time! I wanted to create something that blended vintage elements, with the modern, timeless, classic, bridal aesthetic. I've always loved a short satin dress paired with a long veil and knew the perfect touch to the look was to add the 1920's cat-eye sunglasses to blend in the vintage vibe in a fresh classic way,” Stuck explains.

Love their looks? It’s exactly what Stuck was going for — vintage meets modern. What made it even better and only added to the overall style was that the bride Carlie and the groom Miguel were cohesive in their looks. Stuck also notes that she “knew that this shoot specifically had to be shot in the evening on flash to really play into the vintage energy she wanted!”

INSPIRATION
SUMMER | VOL. 4 120

The cake was also in keeping with the aesthetic, selecting an all white cake for that modern look while going with vintage piping and maraschino cherries for that vintage feel. Stuck adds, “Our incredible, creative, and artful fl orist provided modern colorful botanical florals to balance the modern touches!”

Overall, this session was a success and gives the perfect representation of combining modern style with vintage feels. Stuck

describes it as “the perfect way to showcase how couples can get married and have an entire wedding weekend experience that's intimate and unique.”

“Aside from all the above being the style inspiration, my ultimate goal was to showcase to future couples a modern way to get married at the famous Oregon coast! I knew the perfect venue was going to be Our Plaace in Neskowin, Oregon!” Stuck says.
