“
You asked about my home, well I live down that street the one where you can hear the tapping of my feet You asked about my home, well I live with my love the one that my mind calls when skies are dark above You asked about my home, well I live by the tree the one that turns bright gold when the clock ticks past three Home is every one of those answers and more If I ask about your home, can you picture just one entry door?

CHOLLS LLS ANELANELANE Integral Living A 2 storey, 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom house for a multigenerational family of five: parents, grandparents and one child. Work and Leisure The house encourages both relaxation and productivity. They are two important parts of life and it is possible to join them together. The piano room for instance, creates a space for the client to run classes and produce music during the weekdays while allowing them to bond with and entertain other family members over the weekends. House and Nature To create the atmosphere that can bring productivity into a relaxtion space, nature is the effective way to be pursued. Having natural light, fresh air circulation and green views induces productivity while keeping the casual space desired in a house.

Level changes on the first floor is a strategy to create tangible qualities of privacy and programatic transitions. These changes affect the volume of the spaces on the ground floor, helping to define different programs i.e. communal or private.

THE PASSAGE PAVILION

DIGITAL DESIGN SEMESTER 3 (2019) “Queen Victoria Garden Pavilion” In such a fast paced world, we sometimes forget to slow down and allow some time to breathe. Taking inspiration from human ribs, this pavilion aims to suggest a transitional area of cleansing from the busy world. The area in the pavilion gets sunlight during the day to facilitate seminars. The extended area of the pavilion accommodates seatings for larger crowds when there are performances in the evening. The ground of the pavilion is sunken down to create a space that is private but inclusive and approachable. The use of timber gives qualities of nature, making the pavilion spae a private garden within the public garden.
Gaps between the modules are more constant facing south to allow gentle sunlight into the interior.
The curving of the modules creates an illusion of fully solid structure at certain angles, acting as a subtle privacy barrier.
Modules facing North are placed more tightly together to filter harsh sunlight for activities during the day.
The structure and the shadows casted act as thresholds defining the area of the pavilion.
Steeper steps surrounding the pavilion to accomodate seatings needed for functions Pavilion area sunken down surrounded by steps for access and seating.
9
Placing an array of polygons along the curve, experimenting with different types of polygons at this stage.
Softening the polygon shape by making rounded corners and curves along the edges.
10
Cutting the form with a plane acting as the ground, this opens up the space for circulation and uses.

THE TRANSIT LIBRARY DESIGN STUDIO DELTA Semester 5 (2020) “The Map, The Library and The City”
12
1 The PACE People move at different paces and can influence their environment to move at the same pace. Working in a syncronized pace can positively affect productivity level. The library wants its visitors to make the most out of their time and influence the city to be productive one person at a time.
2 The CONNECTIVITY The library believes in effieciency for people to find and explore answers beyond their questions. Therefore, programmatic distribution is highly organised by the relevance of each program to its neighbors. The library encourages limitless collaborations and discussions to reach the unthinkable.
3 The TRANSIT The library is visited by people of different ages, backgounds, and preferences. They also come in different quantities (eg. individual, families, friend groups, etc). The library aims to accomodate as many possibilities, giving the people places of transit in each of their journeys.

THE RELATIVE SPACE
DESIGN STUDIO EPSILON Semester 6 (2020) “Collective Living” In the same way people form relationships with one another, indoor spaces too form relationships with outdoor spaces. The ground and the buiding. The room and the balcony. The lamp and the sunlight. The wall and the view. The fan and the wind. And so on.

Perspective on Ground Floor
CREATE a sense of ownership regardless of the chosen tenure type to encourge community participation and contribution. FORM pockets of interaction between residents by blurring the edges of private and communal open space areas. EMBRACE the nature of Merri Creek by infusing living spaces with light and open spaces. CONTRIBUTE to the Northcote community through commercial and communal programs. GENERATE productivity in the community through program choices and unit layout focus on living spaces.

While the floors, walls and ceilings are built, they are merely boundaries of the spaces inside. It is the void space that forms a building. It’s where we live, claim and make the space our own. It’s where nature can join and improve the quality of life inside.
