Hints and tips for applications and interviews Everyone knows there are two stages to getting a job: application and interview. But there is a third, more important one: the hard work of preparation. So take time to think about what gives you energy. What skills have you developed as a result? Keep asking until the answers feel right in your heart and mind. Then – and only then – think about a specific role. Why are you a great candidate? Who will be reading your application? What will your interviewers be looking for? Cover Letter Use your letter to expand on your CV and show us your personality. Establish a clear path through your education and work experience. § § §

Give examples of achievements that show how you will help us succeed. Be clear, keep it simple – one side of A4 should be enough. Read your letter aloud when reviewing.

CV or Resume You need to make a good first impression, fast. Content and style vary country to country but we suggest you: • •

Show you have read and understood the job description. Tailor your skills and experience to the role you are applying for.

Remember the CV "hotspots": Current and last role, headings and education.

Stay relevant and keep concise: Two pages, maximum – keep the design clean and simple.

Use active, high impact language.
