RUSSIA – GSOM, GRADUATE SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT, ST. PETERSBURG STATE UNIVERSITY

School support:

GSOM has a Career Centre to help students search for an internship. All the information about the possible companies is placed on the GSOM website, so that students can choose the most suitable company.

Legislation:

Foreign students are allowed to do an internship in Russia without any additional documents if they are registered at a full-time program at a Russian university under the condition that they work in their free time (so that classes do not overlap with working hours). However, study visas are given for the duration of the studies and under CEMS regulations the internship cannot coincide with studies. If a foreign student wants to pass their internship in Russia outside of their study period, they would need to communicate with the selected company to get a working permit.

Required documents:

For GSOM to prepare the invitation for a study visa the student will need to send a copy of their passport. The passport should be valid for a minimum period of 18 months from the issue date of the visa and should contain at least two blank pages. In most cases, you will also need an insurance to get a visa. All other documents may vary from country to country.

Company support:

This highly depends on the company and can vary greatly from one situation to another.

For graduates:

In this case the school can help to find the company but due to Russian legislation cannot be of much help in terms of visa. Much will also depend on the company.
