Guidelines for the main CEMS logotype

CEMS Logo The CEMS logo is made up of two inseparable elements: the monogram composed of the two “Cs” as well as a typography for the name “CEMS”.

For any reproduction of the logo, it is necessary to use the files available on the CD-ROM enclosed and to follow the guidelines described in this document.

An exclusion zone has been defined around the logo in order to guarantee its impact and legibility.

To determine this protected area, the height of the letter “M” has been chosen as the unit of measurement.

The minimum size allowed for the logo has been established so as to ensure its legibility. It has been set to 20 mm.

Colours The official colours of CEMS are the blue and the yellow referenced below.

For all institutional publications, the dominant colour should be this blue.

Logo against Solid Background The application of the logo over a white background is strongly recommended. Whenever the logo is used against other types of backgrounds, recommendations are as follows:

Logo reversed against dark backgrounds

Logo in blue (Pantone 275) against light backgrounds

Logo in Black The use of the greyscale version is restricted to specific applications such as black and white printing.

The solid black version is used on media where colour gradation is not possible (fax, stamp‌).

Logo and Baseline The baseline conveys the principal values and mission of CEMS: the mission of providing a top-class Management education that will prepare students of the CEMS MIM for a global managerial career, and this in close partnership with academic and corporate institutions from around the world.

In capital letters, the baseline is centered beneath the logo and of the same width, providing additional structure.

The logo and the baseline should always be in proportion to one another.

CEMS and Member Logo The CEMS logo and the logo of academic partners are to be set to scale. Both logotypes are to be aligned so either their midpoint or their letters [if applicable] sit on the same baseline.

Restricted Use of the Logo It is not permitted to change the colours It is not permitted to use the monogram or the typography of the logo separately n It is not permitted to use the outline form of the monogram or typography n It is not permitted to change the order of the elements n It is not permitted to change the proportions of the logo n It is not permitted to distort the logo n It is not permitted to change the typography of the logo n n

Typeface The two typefaces that are to be used in all of the CEMS publications are Rotis Serif and Rotis sans Serif.

This choice of font is designed to mirror the values and characteristics of CEMS: the fine letters with serif embody excellence, intelligence and subtlety, whilst the straight, upright capital letters convey prestige, status and rigour.

The version without serif adds a modern, contemporary feel to the visual identity, reflecting the youth, dynamism and commitment of the students, alumni, schools and companies that comprise the CEMS alliance.

The authorised substitution typefaces for the Web and for Word documents are Times New Roman and Trebuchet MS.
