And the COURAGE demonstrated by our students as they volunteer with organizations throughout our greater community, developing into compassionate people who are committed to justice. The education, experiences, and relationships built at Central Catholic are integral to shaping the path for our students as they become our community’s future leaders. Funds raised at this event go directly to support scholarships and financial aid that allow us to serve a diverse and talented student body.

Dear Friends, Thank you for joining us for Central Catholic High School’s Twenty-Fourth Annual Presidents’ Dinner and Auction. Eighty years ago, Central Catholic opened its doors and our story began. In that same year, another great story came to life on the screen — The Wizard of Oz. It told of its characters discovering the heart, brains, and courage they would need for the journey ahead and of the friendships made along the way. With that in mind, this iconic story has been the inspiration for our auction, THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE HOME.

Thank you for your support of our community. We cannot imagine a more fun way to gather together this evening as Ramily than in helping our students witness that “the dreams they dare to dream really do come true!” May God bless you and your family tonight and always,

Rev. Msgr. Tim Murphy ’58 President Emeritus

It’s easy to see those same characteristics playing out every day in our school. The HEART shown in the simplest of gestures, from students offering a smile or high five to their friends or acquaintances in the halls—to teachers taking extra time to assist a student with their studies or to lend a listening ear—to seeing Monsignor Murphy quietly and faithfully offer daily communion throughout the building. The BRAIN at work in our curious and enthusiastic students and the dedicated teachers and staff challenging them and each other to reach their fullest potential. Page 3

Our hope is that each of you will participate during the paddle raise portion of this evening by making a gift in support of a student at one or more of these levels:

This year, thanks to our many generous supporters, Central Catholic was able to provide $3.4 million in financial aid and scholarships to about half our student body. Over the last several years, the Presidents’ Dinner and Auction has contributed a significant portion of that amount with revenue from the paddle raise increasing each year. This year our goal for the paddle raise is $220,000 and we thank you in advance for raising your paddle and investing in a Central Catholic student. We think you’ll be pleased with the return on your investment.
