Thanks to 19 different dimensions, its waste outlet at the side and the ultraflat tray support for the easiest possible assembly, the CAYONOPLAN is the ideal solution. With a rim height of 32 mm and/or 40 mm for formats with side lengths

“INSPIRED BY THE BEST DESIGNER IN THE WORLD – NATURE.” Anke Salomon’s design vocabulary stands apart because of its unmistakable aesthetic: clear-cut, pure and full of beauty – just like nature. Anke Salomon remains faithful to her design philosophy in her collaboration with KALDEWEI. Three product lines have been created: the freestanding MEISTERSTÜCK INCAVA bathtub, a built-in version of the INCAVA, and the SILENIO Collection comprising a bathtub and washbasin. We met the illustrious designer and spoke to her about the new bathroom collection.
Ms. Salomon, you designed several products for KALDEWEI. What is special about the design? Anke Salomon: “The three product lines share a common design vocabulary that is natural and soft. Starting from a clearly defined edge, the material flows gently downwards with no visible rims or corners, and with no geometric orientation. The individual models differ from each other, however, thanks to distinctive design features. With the freestan ding MEISTERSTÜCK INCAVA bathtub, the material flows directly from the outer rim to the interior. The wall of the tub appears very narrow, so that the interior seems all the more spacious. Combined with the conical exterior shape, the bathtub exudes an incredible lightness. The built-in INCAVA bathtub captivates with its
What design challenges did you face in working with KALDEWEI steel enamel?
unusual corner radii. The bathtub’s high, striking rim surrounds it like a picture frame, setting it apart from the architecture around it. The SILENIO bathtub, on the other hand, appears peaceful and integrative thanks to its very flat tub edge and exceptionally precise corner radii. The accompanying SILENIO wash basin picks up on the flowing, soft design of the product line, and its dimensions appear very lavish.”
What is the idea behind the design of the new KALDEWEI products? Was there something that inspired you? Anke Salomon: “The design vocabulary is harmonious, sensual and unadulterated. The soft contours of the interior space flow as naturally as a cloth that, hanging freely, forms a harmonious, gentle hollow. This nature-oriented aesthetic combined with long-lasting, solid KALDEWEI steel enamel produces an extremely exciting arrangement of design and material.”
Anke Salomon: “What is special about the material is the high aesthetic quality and, at the same time, its unique durability. Because of the longevity of steel enamel, the design cannot be governed by passing trends but must continue to give pleasure for many, many years. At the same time, the design must possess a new and strong character, as well as that certain something – a challenging task.”
What does collaboration with KALDEWEI mean for you? Anke Salomon: “While working with KALDEWEI, I got to know a team there who, demonstrating a love of their product, a passion for their material, steel enamel, and a huge awareness of quality, are dedicated to creating bathroom products. Naturally, for me as a designer, that is a fantastic environment. I am very pleased to have the opportunity of working with this team on designing high-quality objects that will delight people for many years to come.”

RELAX LOUNGER The KALDEWEI relax lounger instantly turns a designer bathtub into a small wellness oasis. Relaxing on the fine fabric, you’ll feel as if you’re lying on the deck of an elegant yacht. In addition to its design qualities, the relax lounger offers a high level of flexibility. It consists of six elements, two of which are permanently connected to each other making it possible to use the relax lounger as three separate boards with varying applications: as a shelf while lying in the bathtub, or as a mattress to recline on. If the three separate boards rest on the bath-
tub together, they can be connected to create a large stable slip-resistant surface that sits firmly on the bathtub. Another connection between the relax lounger and bathtub can be made by attaching fastening buttons. In this way, bathtubs already installed can be retrofitted with the relax lounger. The weight capacity of the relax lounger is 130 kg and is supplied with a special cushion. Cushion size: 40 x 23 x 9 cm. Relax lounger, sizes: 170 x 75 cm, 180 x 80 cm, 190 x 90 cm, 200 x 100 cm.

The cushions can be used in three ways. Positioned as a footrest or under the thighs, they prevent the body from sliding downwards in larger baths. Positioned as a neck rest they provide a comfortable support for your head and neck. Placed on the sides they act as an armrest.
The KALDEWEI bathtub cushion brings another level of comfort to the bathtub. Its flexibility and soft materials adapt perfectly to any shape of neck and bathtub. Its volume can be regulated with an air valve – similar to an air mattress. The skin-friendly fabric cover feels delightfully soft and is machine washable. A generous 50 x 30 cm, the cushion also supports the shoulder area and allows a variety of head positions.

SURFACE – EASY-CLEAN FINISH With the optional easy-clean finish from KALDEWEI, water simply runs off the bathtub or shower tray, taking almost all dirt and lime particles with it. Even dried-on watermarks and limescale residue can be removed easily. And because stringent cleaners are not needed – just a soft, damp cloth, the easy-clean finish has a positive effect on the environment, too. The easy-clean
finish is a surface finish that is permanently burnt onto the KALDEWEI steel enamel. It ensures unparalleled durability and long life. Even when the surface is wiped 1-2 times a day, the anti-stick properties remain unchanged 30 years later. KALDEWEI SECURE PLUS – ALMOST INVISIBLE KALDEWEI steel enamel is at the core of the KALDEWEI brand. As a pioneer in the industry, KALDEWEI is continually enhancing this material. Above all, the focus is on anti-slip surface finishings. In a creative environment that responds to users’ needs, KALDEWEI has opened a new chapter in surface finishing through the creation of the new KALDEWEI SECURE PLUS surface. The KALDEWEI SECURE PLUS enamel which covers the entire surface of the product, is virtually invisible, but
slip -resistant nonetheless. The German technical inspection association TÜV Rhineland has certified KALDEWEI’s SECURE PLUS as having anti-slip properties compliant with quality class B for wet barefoot areas (DIN 51097) and quality class R 10 for anti-slip characteristics in work spaces and working areas with an increased slip risk (DIN 51130). They consist of a mixture which is permanently burnt into the KALDEWEI steel enamel. Due to a flatter matrix of the anti-slip nodules, the new (full) anti-slip system is even more friendly to your skin whilst incorporating the same anti-slip characteristics. The extremely flat chrome-look design fits into the edge of the bath and thus supports the harmonious overall appearance.
