Well here we are... another bright, shiny, sparkling New Year!!! I say this with all sincerity. If you read sarcasm into this opening statement you have obviously read my previous letters over the years. Alas; this time sincerity reigns supreme. Now as you surely know; the arrival of the New Year typically fosters the creation of various "Resolutions" for changing certain behaviors, achieving goals, or otherwise maximizing one's human potential. I, being of like ilk have made these resolutions myself in past years, with varying degrees of success. I have a hunch that my success rate may skyrocket this year as my top three resolutions include: gaining 25 lbs, having more pain in my knees, and wearing my pants higher and higher as I march confidently into old age and certain death. Still no sarcasm intended. As counting the rings on a tree can validate the tree's age... the upward migration of the belt line speaks of the longevity and wisdom of a man's life. I had an elderly gentleman in my office recently whose belt line was initially mistaken for a very fashionable choker reminiscent of one I wore myself in 1977. Of course mine was complimented by a pair of Angel's Flight Super Bells, platform shoes, and a silk shirt unbuttoned to the navel. Ah, the good old days. I may try to squeeze into this old outfit for our upcoming COROA Annual Dinner in April... Keep an eye out for the date... This Dinner will be AMMMAAAZZZZIIINNNG... And I promise I won't subject you to the above described horror!!! Our recent Law Update class was such a smashing success that we had to turn people away when we reached room capacity of 94. We then held a repeat class that maxed out a different room at approximately 70! Kudos to you all for your support and desire to be educated, lawful landlords!!! Our January 21st class should be a full house as well as we tackle "Life under HB 2639; Partnering with the Section 8 Programs. "Kenny LaPoint will be teaching this class and I encourage you to sign up early to ensure your spot in the class. Well I had better go and stay focused on these resolutions. I'm on my third box of Twinkies, and my knees are starting to ache trying to get my 38 inch waist into this old 29 inch Angel Flights. I need to reach my navel by March... it's not going well!
