Our man of the Year

Virgil Abloh : the business casual Lord YOU PROBABLY ALREADY KNOW MR ABLOH. SELFMADE IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY, VIRGIL IS THE SPEAKER OF A GENERATION OF YOUNG MEN THAT CAN DO IT ALL. , DESIGNER OF HIS OWN BRAND OFF-WHITE, DJ AND NOW HEAD OF MENSWEAR FOR LOUIS VUITTON, VIRGIL ABLOH IS HEAD TO TOE THE PERFECT EXAMPLE OF “IF YOU WANT YOU CAN” GENERATION. LAST SUMMER HE PRESENTED HIS FIRST COLLECTION FOR LOUIS VUITTON THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO LEAD A MOVEMENT OF DIVERSITY BY PUSHING THE BOUNDARIES BETWEEN HUMANKIND AND ALSO FASHION WISE, BETWEEN HIGH FASHION AND STREET CULTURE. FROM HIS NOMINATION AT LOUIS VUITTON TO THE CREATION OF HIS RSVP GALLERY IN CHICAGO CROSSING HIS LOVE FOR HIP-HOP MUSIC, WE WILL TRY TO DISCOVER EVEN MORE STORIES ABOUT THIS 2.0 GENIUS.

VIRGIL ABLOH. WHO ?

He became the first African American artistic director and one of few black designers at the top of heritage fashion house. He then succeeded to Kim Jones departure to Christian Dior Menswear Line.

He is the first generation of Ghanaian-American raised. He made the uncool bankable by using irony, modern references, modern art plus celebrities connexions and digital hype. Virgil is 37 with already a lot accomplished under his belt by giving all his design and collabs an aura of a cultural currency, the “this is how we do it factor”.

THE NEW DEFINITION OF BUSINESS CASUAL Business casual is about how clothing can be used to tell a story. He also embody the Freelance culture. which is the very opposite of our parents working working in the office which is pretty much just a suit and a shirt. He has always be multitasker . He do not believe in the “one thing in one day” process. This is proudly showing how art craft and multitasking is important for his creative process.

MARCH 26 : THE NOMINATION AT LOUIS VUITTON Virgil Abloh was nominated few months earlier as as the new artistic director of Louis Vuitton Menswear. The long time creative director for Kanye West Brands will now preach the new sense of fashion for the oldest yet powerful European House in the Luxury business LVMH.

Off White Clothing aimed to dress the kid that has grown , fast, too fast to actually transit to the “adult wear”

collaboration with Supreme was it to test an eventual collaboration with Off White in the future ?

THE ESSENCE

NO FORMAL FASHION EDUCATION

The models themselves is the unsung part of his creations and the way he operates Those are the stuffs you don’t think about when you are at the highest level of Fashion industry. Virgil and other creatives of his era wishes models will not just be hangers anymore but more vocals about their part in the business of fashion. As far as the aesthetic, Off-White is a brand that had set the tone of how a catwalk in the 2000’s should look like. Colorful; gender and sexualy represented.

Virgil has two degrees : One in civil engineering and one in architecture but he is nevers received an formal education in fashion. The first time he learn how to saw was his mother when he was 5. She taught him the basics but Virgil mostly choose to follow his intuition. when it comes to fashion design

HE STARTED HIS FIRST COMPANY NAME PYREX VISION IN 2012 Although his much better known with Off White, it was not the first time he launched a business. In 2012 he established the Pyrex Vision couture Streetwear boutique. His business involved buying vintage shirts from a dead stock to Ralph Laurent. He then added screen printed Pyrex Vision Logo on them and sold them for 400 eur a piece. But he decided to shut down the brand after just a year in operation. He only intended it to be an artistic experiment not a serious business.

FENDI INTERN Virgil was paid 500 dollars a month to be a fendi intern. In 2009 he got his first opportunity at Fendi. At the same time Kanye west was an intern too. Both got some valuable experiences and even more valuable connections. Michael Burke was the executive chief at the time and decided to follow the talent . Time flies but not the relationship because Michael decided to bring Virgil’s name to the crowd to be the head of Menswear for Louis Vuitton

THE CREATIVE APPROACH Virgil Abloh has genuine love for creation so he will often collaborate with not just fashion artists but artists in General. He mets Murakami while working on Kanye West Album graduation cover art work. Since then they build a relation and often collaborate in prints in order to merge their differents worlds. By the time his has done the Business Casual Show, The Louis Vuitton Project was sort of revealed. So the challenge has always be majure in the head of the creative Uganda native. Was LVMH concealed the end by bringing streetwear into the luxury ? When you take the

GRAMMY NOMINATION FOR THE ARTWORK FOR WATCH THE THRONE After being interns at Fendi, Kanye West hired Virgil to be the creative director of DONDA a creative agency that Kanye name after his mother suddenly passed away. In this role he will work on kanye’s stages, fashion lines, albums covers of GOOD MUSIC LABEL artists. This is where the collaboration on the art cover of watch the throne featured jay-z came to light.

3 MILLIONS NET WORTH

HIS NEW COLLABORATION WITH IKEA IS SET TO BE INTRODUCE THIS YEAR

Virgil is a relatively new face in the fashion designers world. But his bank account is already showing his talent. Although he is far from the list of highest paid fashion designers, we are sure he will make it through the list sooner or later as he is now at the head of an office which is billions worthy. He starts to grow his fortune with PYREX VISION alongside with the help of all his celebrities friends constantly wearing his design. Free ad for the brand that remains bankable.

Virgil has been really busy with collaboration in 2018 but this year is set to be the year he will actually express himself in things that he likes. Furniture is a big deal for him so do the collab with IKEA the swedish giant furniture company. The plot of this collaboration has been designed in order to furnished a millenials first flat. a serie of carpets, chairs, coffee tables, clocks and even couches will be released this year in most IKEA all around the world. Now that you know all the interesting things about Virgil abloh, it will be good to see how the future will be. for both Off White and Louis Vuitton. The excitement comes from two schools : It will be interesting to see how virgil Abloh will revamp Mens at Louis Vuitton.in one hand and in the other hand it will be interesting to see if his streetwear aesthetic will go together with the label. How Off White will keep moving codes and barriers between Haute couture and the Streets codes

HIS “FOR WALKING” BOOTS COST 2000 EUROS One of the stand out piece that Virgil has created for his Off White Line is that “FOR WALKING” was one of the most expensive boot of the year. The design is really simple and comes either in black or white. There is also and ankle boot and stilettos that cost more than certain expensive designer shoes brands

The Black history month BLACK HISTORY MONTH IS AN ANNUAL CELEBRATION OF ACHIEVEMENTS BY AFRICAN AMERICANS AND A TIME FOR RECOGNIZING THE CENTRAL ROLE OF BLACKS IN U.S. HISTORY. SINCE 1976, AMERICAN PRESIDENT HAS ALL OFFICIALLY DESIGNATED THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY AS BLACK HISTORY MONTH. THE CELEBRATION HAS NOW CROSS THE BORDERS AS OTHER COUNTRIES LIKE CANADA AND THE UNITED KINGDOM ARE ALSO CELEBRATING BLACK HISTORY MONTH.

clubs. One of the 2019 Black History month main subject is the Black Migration. This theme will highlights the movement of people of African descent to new destinations as well as new social realities especially on the twentieth century through today. It will also be a time this year to give proper credit to the black culture and fight that has shaped the world and basically starts to build what we see today as progress.

To sum up the movement, the story begins in 1915 after the thirteenth Amendment abolished slavery in the United States. Carter Woodson Historian of Harvard and Jesse E. Moorland civic leader decided to found the ASNLH ( Association for the Study of Negro Life and History) an association which aims to promote achievement by African descent. The group eventually sponsored a national Negro History week in 1926, choosing the second week of February to coincide with the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass. The movement did inspire schools and other organizations to celebrate and keep black achievements in mind by hosting events and bring topics that matter into history and lecture

NO BLACK HISTORY MONTH IN FRANCE YET TAUBIRA LAW WILL DO ? As a copy-paste of the Black History Month, the french way has to be the Africana Days : A festival with conferences around “Afropeans” to shape a future without sorrows of the past and also the present The D date is also symbolic as in May 10th 2001, the Christiane Taubira law was voted. Taubira Has been the force behind the law that recognises the Atlantic slave trade and slavery as a crime against humanity.

Is France late ? Is Black History Month necessary ? Either you are an African descent or not, we have to highlight the importance and the role of the black community during wars and the side effects of colonialism. Same thing as we have to remind wars and genocides in every forms. It is important to remember those subjects to shape the future and more importantly keep it in mind so that those atrocities will never happen again. Black History month is also the time of the year to give proper credit to the black culture and also to salute fights that has shaped the world and basically starts to build what we see today as progress. We at Cerbere will celebrate this year black history month by highlighting major figures of black history around the world.. Stay tuned on our website to learn more if you don’t now!

movement nowadays is to shape black people groth all around the world and also shape the access to education, equality often neglected yet present as well as build a better access for black decent to the elites ( schools, hospitals, careers). Even if the French society is not shape as the American society we can not avoid the importance of immigration years after years and also the cons of inequalities in Europe as well as racism indeed. Some french intellectuals has often bring the subject to the table. One of them is Maboula Soumahoro who is an associate professor in Tour. She fought her way to instore a black history month but without any success. The real issue will be to overcome the obstacle of the french politic constitution which is republican. In our republic we tend to come together as one nation and we advocate secularism/ While in the UK moreover in the US the race and the religion both play a massive role when it comes to social construction and the way society is shaped, the. African descent in France will usually grow with a republican way of thinking. We wonder then if the constitution is that much aware of the role it plays regarding Black french heritage and its complexity when it comes to the status of black immigrants or african descents in France ?

AS WE LOOK BACK NOW, 12 MONTHS ON FROM THE START OF 2018, IT IS AMAZING TO REMEMBER THE ATMOSPHERE OF PESSIMISM WHICH HUNG OVER US AT THE START OF THE YEAR. FROM GLORY TO TEARS 2018 LEFT A LOT OF US MELTED ABOUT WHAT 2019 WILL BE; THOSE ARE THE EVENTS THAT KEPT US TALKING ;

2018 US ELECTION: A YEAR OF THE WOMEN Hillary Clinton was advised to play down her gender during her first run for president in 2016 because voters would not elect a “first mama”. This cycle, women placed gender and motherhood in the center stage. The House candidate Liuba Grechen Shirley of New York, who is expected to lose her race, made history as the first woman to spend federal campaign funds on childcare. Campaign ads featured candidates breastfeeding their babies and getting an ultrasound. The campaign has been shaped by issues of gender, race and identity. With the case of Justice Brett Kavanaugh, who was accused by multiple women of sexual misconduct, roiled the election and exposed deep fault lines between all the parties, Democrats were stimulated by #MeToo movement, which helped attract female voters and recruit more women to run for office. But Trump, who has been accused of sexual assault and harassment by a dozen women did failed in the process by defending Kavanaugh, one of this most if it is not The most loyal public supporters. The campaign was salute by many women broke with convention and shared their personal stories of sexual abuse.

From the shots at each other songs to the NY Fashion Week, the story was quite big and so many of us did follow it to laugh and pic sides.

CRAIG GREEN X MONCLER

The so called rivality all started during a collaboration on Migos song Motorsport. When media asked about the potential feud, both rappers claimed “medias love to always bring animosity between womens in the rap industry” They eventually squash the beef few months after dailies adressments. Nicki Minaj tweeted : “I know this stuff is entertaining & funny to a lot of people but I won’t be discussing this nonsense anymore,” Cardi screenshotted the tweet, and posted it on Instagram with the comment: “Alright then! Let’s keep it positive and keep it pushing”.

As one of the year genius idea, the collab between Graig Green and Moncler is from afar the most surprising creation process ever experience in fashion.

Is that the end? Although we have to thank nicky and cardi for the fun and most important the shots through the lyrics Is that the end of this brawl that may or not have ever existed?

When Moncler unveiled Craig as part of its Genius project and present it during the Milan Fashion week back in Februarylast year. we all witnessed the explosion of memes, lol and other social media buzzes :Michelin Man Cosplay, Walking Blow-up Mattress Man, Human Tampon,

On the other hand that was real Genius. Craig Green alongside other creatives did push the boundaries to give a second vision of the well known down filled winter outerwear that is Moncler. Is this actually wearable ? Guess so. Craig took the open brief and pushed the possibilities of the outerwear to its limits.

CARDI B X NICKI MINAJ

You probably already know this guy. Selfmade in the Fashion industry, Virgil is the speaker of a generation of young men that can do it all. Graduated from an architect school, designer of his own brand Off-White, Dj and now Head of Menswear for Louis Vuitton, Virgil Abloh is head to toe the perfect example of “if you want you can” generation. As if it was not enough CHANEL shows us how to maximise the carbon footprint with a 24H beach sensation inside de Grand Palais. This is another alarm set by many ecologists as the brand has already deal with the question back on his show last where the brand did knock few oak trees down for the purpose of the show. The demonstrations were largely peaceful but a few clashes broke out in between police and demonstrators, some wearing masks, in Paris’ Invalides district. Protesters threw firecrackers, bottles and stones at the police who responded with water canon and tear gas to push them back.

The team has come along way especially after the disaster during the Euro cup, with new players like Kylian Mbappe, N’Golo Kante (who stayed in the bench in that final), Benjamin Pavard.

December’s demonstrations wreaked some of the worst violence seen in decades in Paris, as rioters burned cars and damaged shops and businesses. Macron has launched a series of national debates to help calm public discontent and restore his standing.

Ah ouais, tu l’as pas lu ? Arg.»

Fooding Cooking Bites on Valentine FROM SWEET TO SALTY, VEGAN FOOD IS BECOMING MORE CREATIVE. I HAVE NEVER BEEN A MEAT EATER AND YOU ARE ABOUT TO SQUIZZ IT TOO. WITH THE VALENTINE’S DAY AHEAD WE GOT YOU COVERED WHEN IT COMES TO IMPRESS YOU LOVED ONES WITH TWO INGENIOUS RECIPES THAT WILL MAKE THEM HAVE A HYPE AND HEALTHY DINER. FROM US TO YOU, HAPPY VALENTINES DAY.

your traditional oven. First time i have tried it, i was surprise of how much the fruit will absorbe any flavour you put in. Inspired by a Youtube show called Faux Meat Chief Challenge, i found myself trying that pulled jackfruit burger more than once.

PULLED BEEF JACKFRUIT BURGER Adding all the spices i normally add for my Veggie Burger, sauteed it in a pan, I prepared my buns and my smashed avocados with shallots and chilli. HEAT!

I can already hear you like. Who this dude think he is to swipe and shape the way we would like to eat.

This is a recipe to surprise you bae on Valentine’s Day or your friends for an unexpected dinner for a perfect healthy night in without chi-chis

I get you. This is the Burger your fave meat eaters friends will actually enjoy without knowing it is meat! First of all do you know jackfruit ? It is a big green FRUIT that grow in the tropics. You can buy it in every asian and west indian grocery stores. They have to look green and juicy not hard and brown ( means they are not fresh anymore). The particularity is that It contains every good calories and minerals you need That will let you a big playground to spice and cook it how you want it. this fruit is very fibrous the flavour is neutral. When you split it in half you have to remove the skin and braise it on you bbq or in 48

I have been a Vegetarian since i was almost ten. Meat was nothing serious to me and as an African and island decent, for my parents it was not possible for me to not enjoy a jerk or a BBQ. “it is part of who you are” was shouting my father. It was just very late in age that i have realize the impact of eating meat/ animals on earth also for health reasons in general. Of course i became sensitive about that causes. Walking my way to create and reinvent dishes the way i wanted, i came across this WTF recipes that you can do in a heartbeat and feel the taste!

VEGAN VERSION OF FISH AND CHIPS “ BLOSSOMS & CHIPS”

looks and tastes like real fish. Really fan of unusual taste in cooking, i have been served ! I will not tell you all the recipes that works well with the banana blossoms as i still need to impress my friends when they come over for the dinner but the ultimate reliable recipe that i will share with you is the typical vegan Blossom and Chips (adaptation of fish and chips).

I have always find my way caught in creativity in food. I have wanted to only eat something that will mix my roots, influences and respect my beliefs. Remember i did not became vegetarian by choice. I just found myself not liking meats anymore at the early age.

Basically you prepare your own style breading. I like mine accented with italian spices also african pepper that comes really hot in the mouth. This is all i will say on this recipe. The rest belongs to your taste and how you like you fish. Then you deep fry it twice add chips and you favourite dressings sauces and it’s done, Nailed!

I have always thought Tofu was the facility when it comes to vegan taste. Trust me i did work on it to add flavour make it spicy and tasty anything but finally failed. Few years ago i found myself in Seoul south Korea tasting every kind of spices and textures and i came across that one taste that can actually make you quit meat for good.( with the Taste). We a friend of mine we decided to enter a vietnamese_korean fusion type of place and we did not know what to expect. As the Card was bring to us on the table, something has then catched my attention. The Battered cod Made Blossoms made out of Banana Blossoms, yes Banana Blossoms!

Try to impress your boo on valentine’s day? that’s the way you have to finesse it. Add your homemade sauces with that, you will win hearts through the palate. If you wonder where to find bananas blossoms they are available in any exotic stores i went in Paris. You can also make you way to any Vietnamese or African markets to get served. Certain stores will clean them for you for free. You can still find tutorials in youtube on how to clean them and divers ways to cook them. Enjoy !

They will usually grow on banana trees. They are rich in fibers, vitamins and minerals. It is also even more like the banana with a power of natural antidepressant. You can also use the one that grow from a banana-plantain tree ( less sweet, less tender) and they have the same flavour as real fish. Now trust me i am a fish guy. Call me MR Seafood and when i tell the taste is the same!

Credits : Elephantastic vegan, Pinterest

It seems to me that the Chief was really proud of his recipe and choose to keep the ingredients secret. I was able to taste garlic and chilli but the rest stayed unknown. That chief did right as when i came back in france i had to mess about with that new dish. Deep fried, marinated, cooked it like the fish you have in fish and chips with seaweed paper… Got really caught on the taste and the consistency

Top Albums released in 2018 YOU ALREADY KNOW THIS IS OUR LIST. THE FACTS ARE BASED ON EVERY ARTISTS PROJECTS CONSISTANCY, CREATIVITY AND ALSO THE CROWD’S RECEPTION. OVERALL WE SAW THE RISE OF NEW TALENTS OR THE PERSISTANCE OF THOSE WE ALREADY KNOW. WE DID TRY TO REUNITED AS MANY GENDERS POSSIBLES AND THE BEST OF EACH CATEGORIES. 15. QUEEN BY NICKI MINAJ This was a really good album unfortunately surrounded by a lot of drama. Although we did enjoy songs like Barbie Tingz or Coco Chanel with Foxy Brown, a lot of song should have been take out to make the album short and efficient we are talking about Hard White, Nicki is the queen to date. there is not a doubt.

14. LM5 BY LITTLE MIX. They went from little dolls to women and you can feel it in the body of art. We love all the themes embodied on this album/ They sang about self love, equality, conformity. relationships but not in a childish way. You know a good

album when each songs could possibly be a lead single which is rare nowadays. The ballads are a depiction of growth vocally speaking and the whole album came to show us the maturity of Little mix. Good job girls!

13. SINGULARITY BY JON HOPKINS Jon Hopkins is a sound maker and a sound manipulator. Within each song he made music wise and also writing for other artists. For this album, he tried to paint a psychedelic California desert adventures that inspired the record. The vibe of the album is definitely a feeling to experience when you listen to Hopkins. It’s his understanding, combined with his earnest quest for spiritual catharsis, that informs every sternum-rattling drop and wistfyl synthesizer expanse

50

on Singularity. Like all great producers, he knows how to make a song impactful, he knows how to make you like an album in a different gender.

12. BLOOM BY TROYE SIVAN Really enjoy this project and even if it has not been done intentionally it felt like a continuation of his first project Blue Neighborhood. Many ballads talking about being comfortable in his skin and all the challenges he faced due to his sexuality. On the other hand, bloom is talking about BEING more than comfy and embody who Troy really is. Really great to see! It is a mix of up beat songs and chill songs like Lucky strike as well. Not like a lot of albums released this year, Bloom felt honest real and personal far from fake. If you have not heard it, do yourself a favor

CULTURE

you will not regret it.

11. ELLA MAI BY ELLA MAI This is the album i did listen to out of curiosity and i what a surprise. Ella Mai has been around for years now but 2018 was her year. The project is feel with dope rnb songs and you can actually listen to the entire album without having to skip a song. Booded’up was an anthem in 2018 with that early 200 r&b vibe. Naked is probably going to win your heart. This is a beautiful mix of vintage and modern rnb. !

10. THE SPACE IN BETWEEN BY MAJID JORDAN. Close your eyes. There you go you are in Toronto. Majid Jordan is that duo you have to listen before you die. The space in between is their second project. The space in Between is a magical place in music to be Where you think about somewhere this album is in between. Jordan has really detailed the production that came and match with majid innocent voice. When you think about artists that make music to resolve something in their mind there is not enough of Majid Jordan in the music industry

9. KID SEE GHOST BY KANYE WEST & KID CUDI This is a seven songs collaborative projects with the

best production i have heard in 2018. Those two genius make it rain when they collab together as the result, one of the best album of the year. Kid Cudi was more comprehensive than Kanye but who will try to understand a genius? They talked about their struggles, mental illness, dark places they have been to in the most beautiful melodies and samples ever from track one to track seven !

5. ISOLATION BY KALI UCHIS. This album is not for everybody i agree. You have to take a risk to give it a go as Kali took some risks here to put this project together. It is a psychedelic trip album with and unique sound and voice. It is refreshing nowadays. The album is cohesive and remarkable. This girl is to watch in 2019

8. CHRIS BY CHRISTINE AND THE QUEENS She goes now with the name of Chris and she has been one of the most francophone artists talked about last year. With this project she flipped the verse and reverse the psychology. Over sinuous new wave funk, Chris sings about paying for sex («5 dollards») aggressively pursuit of pleasure «Damn what must a woman do»), and the commitment «girlfriend» the kinds of things that would be seen as «masculine» if you believed in that concept. «Some of us just had to fight/For even being looked at right», Chris sings on «5 dollars», summing up the way

51

it feels when the world expects you to behave a certain way, but you just can’t play by their rules. And in 2018, that was a whole lot of us.

7. MY DEAR MELANCHOLY BY THE WEEKND. He did not come to play with this six tracks project feel with nothing but bangers. We will say one thing : Call out my Name is just the perfect anthem to remind your ex who he is playing with. don’t think you can take the weekend as a motel stop to figure your stuff out and go back to the same person who let you broken. No mam, never. This man is wearing his heart on his sleeves and he kept it real al the way throughout the album. Nevertheless someone got his feelings F UP.

5. CAMILLA BY CAMILA CABELLO. Camilla was one of the acts in fifth Harmony and a lot of people thought she will flopped after her departure of the group. She dropped her project during the first quarter of last year and she is still charting as her album did really aged like wine. We like the fact that each songs could probably be a lead single and she managed to incorporate her latin roots in the hit song havana featuring Young Thug. This album is a banger and we will tell you why : If you want a song to get ready to the club she got you. If you want a song to listen in the club, she got you, after the club she got you as well! One more thing about this project is that she did not

CULTURE

add an unnecessary blending production and you can actually hear what she does the best. Sing!

4. GOLDEN HOURS BY KACEY MUSGRAVES. Many of us did not knew who this girl was until the grammy nominations. We gave it a shot and god we are happy to discover artists like her. Golden Hours is a timeless project and pretty sure you will fall in love with her soft vocal, the minimal production This album is categorize as a country album but it does not like a typical country album. She was smart enough to explore genders to bring this project alive. She have the ability to bring you along with her in her journey. Song like mother could made you miss yours. All the song got substances and the project his more than cohesive. We wish we will hear more about her in 2019 . If you haven’t listen to this project, please give it a shout because it is a beautiful body of work and from far this is our favourite.

3. NEGRO SWAN BY BLOOD ORANGE This project had the “this is America” hit factor. Dev Hynes here is asking some questions to himself regarding black depression exhumes his trauma and insecurities, school bullying encounters, and early thoughts of death, delivering diary entries in a yearning tone sometimes reminiscent of Elliott Smith—too tired to shout, too exhausted to keep quiet. Negro Swan is indulgent

in the best way, like a young adult showing you his over decorated bedroom with pictures of Prince, Marvin Gaye, desolate psychedelia, bluesy mysticism. and selfexamination, the album welcomes the dispossessed and extends tender, melancholy encouragement to actually have a seat at the table and talk about what’s really matter.

2 TY DOLLA $IGN JEREMIH WITH MIHTY That’s a fact Ty Dolla $ign and Jeremih are the best part of any song they’re featured. With this project we love to see how Mister falsetto and the nonchalant bad boy ty dolla sign brings all the beats and the vocals to the next level . MihTy is a masterpiece of ’90s R&B, a style which is back to stay even if everything goes pop nowaday. They made sure we will not be just another nostalgic 90’s project thanks to the production which is out of this world They will continuously introduce contemporary twists on these classic sounds, The producer Hitmaka did find how to blend the best of Ty and Jeremih’s worlds. Here you have no album fillers but killers.

1. TRANQUILITY BASE HOTEL & CASINO BY ARCTIC MONKEYS Arctic Monkeys’ bold gambit—a hairpin turn from good, old’ fashioned rock’n’roll into bachelor-pad psych-pop— only pays off because of their commitment to world-building. It is what gives Alex Turner’s

52

one-liners and commentaries on screen-addled modernity their emotional charisma. All of the album’s narrators are looking for an escape, whether from our planet’s charring husk or a lover who’s haunted them for years. It’s an album for a near-future where technology is better but everyone’s still miserable, and you leave it with immense empathy for the sadsack lounge lizards just looking for a new friend or two.

Well, this is it for 2018 musically speaking. 2019 is already bringing us emotions and relative topics, new sounds and new vibes

Worst Albums in 2018 The list and also why on this list

2018 HAS BEEN A GOOD YEAR FOR ARTISTRY IN TERM OF FILMS, TV SHOWS AND MUSIC. LET’S MAKE IT CLEAR THE GAG IS WE BELIEVE THOSE ARTISTS WILL BOUNCE BACK SOONER OR LATER IN 2019! BUT FOR NOW THEY ARE NOT HYPING US BASED ON THIER LAST PROJECTS FOLLOW US ON ITUNES FOR MORE LISTENNING, DISCOVERIES! @CERBEREMAGAZINEOFFICIAL

1. JOYRIDE BY TINASHE Although we could not pass the talent, this album was very generic. An artist category should actually have more to say. This is not Tinashe debut album. There was nothing personal. The featured artists were worthless. As the matter of fact they were not helpful. Please Tinashe take time off live your life a little, regroup and comeback rebranded. You worth more than that.

2. THE SUNSET TAPES BY JADEN SMITH This album sound promising at first with the first track. But The more you listen the more it sounded like travis scott. Every songs after Soho were very trash. He is trying to be creative but he failed. Every single track

of this album sounded like someone else. A heavy lack of creativity, no substantial things to say. Jaden find your own sound for 2019

3. VOICE NOTES BY CHARLIE PUTH This is the most insipid album of the year. Gave this album few listen and till today i cannot remember one song. As the matter of facts let real artist released songs with substance. Overall the album is like beige color and sounds boring

4. CULTURE II BY MIGOS There are some artists that should be blamed for releasing long ass album with literally nothing to say. This album is repetitive, boring except motor sport and stir fry. However they have no

54

business in making a 24 tracks album.

5. DUMMY BOI BY TEKACHE 69 No No No. You will be left some type of way. Starting with songs titles. Nothing here is innovative. not the lyrical contents, not the beats, not even the features. They also sound crap. A sensation of unfinished.

6. SURVIVE THE SUMMER PRESENTS BY IGGY AZALEA As a hardcore rapper with little desire to court the mainstream, which was once her bread and butter. Her flow is effective and the production pops, but it’s just not as enjoyable . On the embattled

CULTURE

rapper’s latest EP, Iggy Azalea knows what a good rap song sounds like in the abstract but is simply incapable of making one.

7. SICK BOY BY THE CHAINS-MOKERS I found out they were dropping a new project i was curious. But i was quickly reminded how much i hate this group. Lyrical content is very childish, and for sure they will not goes back to their first year of success they had with songs like closer. They have not evolve artistically. It is the same edm music we all fall in when they first came out. The feature choices are trash, no substance in the whole project. lyrics are very cringy. The target audience here are fresh college girls. There is no way and adult can relate to this.

8. SKINS BY XXX TENTACION. In his meteoric but short career XXX Tentaction conveyed his emotions with such rawness that it stopped hip hop in its tracks. the tone is, mostly, consistent and effective, and the album’s overall effect is a painting of a sickly, vivid insight into a troubled life. There’s not much else to say about it. This album is the best example of how greedy the music industry is. All the songs are thrown away beats mixed with some verses that are repeated because they didn’t have enough recordings. They barely have enough material for the record .this album doesn’t have any redeeming quality except for sad.

9. MAN OF THE WOODS BY JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE After years missing, JT decided to drop an album which left me perplex than excited. The majority of this album tried to integrated certain elements of different genders which ending up being messy and not enjoyable. The concept and the intention here were lost. The overproduction was very immature of the JT we know. This album was not smooth at all even has an all over the place feeling. He tried to be on time with the new generation but yeah nothing excited here. Even the title Man in the woods was very nah...

10. SCORPION BY DRAKE. This album was a 25 songs albums and it was composed of the same monotone crap and mediocre contant and the very similar sounds and beat. Jay-z was the only featured artist and it was the only best thing happening to thid record. People need to stop gassing Drake… This body of work sounded trash and well,he cannot sing! This album was unnecessary long but few tracks stood out but majority were fillers not killers. It will age like milk

11. SWEETNER BY ARIANA GRANDE Arianators, please don’t be mad. If you are then you have not listen this album carefully.

55

This is the most disappointing album of 2018 not the worst. Mostly because we know Ariana Grande as an artist. The project was terrible and lack of focus which is sad. She sounded like she was struggling with the lower vocal range. Every single Pharrell williams produced here were trash and should’ve not seeing the light… that was coming. They were confusing and they were not having a replay value. They were certain stand out tracks like breathing, god is a woman but everything else were mediocre at best. This project was not cohesive at all levels. Wish Pharrell was not involved here. 2019 is already you year and you did great because sweetener was shallow

12. MILES KANE COUP DE GRACE Fresh from a breakup, Kane assembled a team of collaborators for his third LP, which includes seven co-writes with Jamie T and another, Loaded, with Lana Del Rey. John Congleton produces, ensuring Kane’s broken heart and tepid charisma don’t spoil these functional glam, psych and pop-oriented radio romps. Kane’s ante is upped, but ‘Coup de Grace’ still isn’t quite a killer
