Do not wake us up until our dream is over. We started 3 years ago with no clue about the business, nothing but an idea and a tiny light as a guidance. We are still amazed and surprised by people, readers’ reactions when they learn we are doing this for love, expression and for free!
ÉDITO
This issue doesn’t have a specific thread but, is simply about the dream we all had one day and told all our friends about it. Every doors we have been opening since the beginning of this journey have been taken as big roads, last chances. We did embrace that fear, we did connect through those feelings. A lot of people we’ve met were using the word AMBITIOUS. Some of them were having that sly smile, giving us a pat on the head and others were all about the good luck type of speeches. They were witnessing us crawl with our ideas, problems, short nights, back stabbing and other misunderstandings. We did what we had to do, put aside our emotions and sacked some of our greedy entourage. The best behavior was to recognize other people’s dreams as we set the path for them to shine. Mow? No, Woof !
Carte Blanche issue is about accepting to overcome some of your choices, accept to learn how to fly again. This issue has been the occasion for the whole team to take the reins of the magazine as Artistic Directors and decide everything from A to Z. We knew from the beginning that the collaboration will be about listening, accepting advice and learn even more from each other’s. On top of our main issue, Carte Blanche’s Special Edition (hors-série) will sum up Cerbere’s fantastic trip in Asia throughout this summer. Coming across other cultures completely change our sight on this world. We learnt how foreigners perceived our own culture and how to share with them. Cerbere Magazine would like to evolve into something more alternative, something more international. We would like to take the dog out for a walk in the world, so he can see new shapes, new colors and set himself other visions. We can see that you, our precious readers, like the fact that we are taking more risks and acting less like we were schooling life but facing the road with courage, always. Outside of what you already know (E-shop) and upcoming projects (we don’t want to tell more about) we want to take it to a new level. - The website will be localized English as demand is bursting out there. - We are still receiving requests to feature in our E-shop; Due to the fact that we want to make the right thing for our readers / customers we are still encouraging brands, painters, concept finders, writers, photographers to send us e-mails and connect with us for the purpose of business and free creation.
No one should wake you up from your dreams : ambition is not everything. If you is see it the way you see it, keep going. Choose to stay in the world you build. Do not wake us up because we have been dreaming of it. “It” do no stands for a physical love but the love we have for our passion, for what we do. The ricochet from a dream to another dream is you, the readers. You’re our leitmotiv, the reason we are still here doing it. It is all about you. You, who saw us building all of it with our bare hands. The feeling to reach out to people with our little stories, ideas and visions is better than any high, any food, any travel.
We hope you’re having fun. We hope you’re having fun, browsing those pages and discover our side of the story. Our Carte Blanche.

HORS-SERIE For this special edition, Cerbere wanted to give you a taste of what it has been like to travel
BY FABRICE CHAPUIS & KATE KALLOT
around Japan and South Korea a couple of months ago. Ready? Let’s take off!
TOKYO c
cameobbrome.com
We chilled all night at Sound Bar Lip in Shibuya. Hidden gem not far from Marukyu, located on the 1 st floor of a building, this is the most chilling place you can find around the area. You can also meet the two lovely dogs hanging around and if you’re lucky they’ll give you a high five. Open until 5am – the perfect place for a chilled night out. You will get to know Makoto San, the owner and his two dogs in a really chill atmosphere
We snapped at Roppongi Hills Mori Tower. This skyscraper is the host to the Mori museum. After visiting the exhibition you can stop and admire the breath breaking 360 degrees view and take your best shots of the city.
We dined at Hacienda Del Cielo, Mexican restaurant in Ebisu. Enjoy the nice pina colada, the view and the full veggie menu.
While shopping at the Seibu mall in Shibuya, we snacked at Katsu Midori. Enjoy some of the best sushis around, served on a Shinkansen depending on where you’re seating.
If you decide to hang out in Shinjuku, ni-chome would be the area you would want to drink at. Campy Bar is one of the most welcoming place we ever been to in Tokyo. The drags entertain you and your friends and make sure you have a good time.
We partied hard a Womb. One thing in Tokyo clubs is the lightning Womb is that place where you can lose control of your body dancing on your own along with more than 1000 people around you.
Golden Gai in Kabukicho, Shinjuku. As small as the bars can possibly be (5 to 6 seats along with the owner) you can quickly get absorbed by this area. We met some salarymen, late workers ready to spend a few or a lot on those vintage whiskey and sing their ties off karaoke cheesy songs. We were amazed by that particular one held by an old drag singer. She reached the edge of the fame many years ago according to all her posters
on her walls she had it all back in the days… In Japanese, she is called “otokonoko” (man dressed as woman) but we called her Mama. We wouldn’t be able to give you the exact location but with some luck you will be attracted by the neon coming out of her 1 st floor bar and will push the door. Hit us on Instagram @cerberemagazineofficial to see how she looks like.
We had an after party at Greenland, Roppongi. This area is crowded with foreigners so best to go for a short amount of time for an after party.

Last but not least, we shopped in Harajuku. Our Airbnb was located there so everyday was like a torture when we were hitting the streets to visit. Especially Takeshita Street which is probably the most crowded one in the city. However, Harajuku is the best area for swaggers. We were always finding a new hidden shop, hype Japanese style
clothes you can’t find anywhere else in the world‌ The area itself is hype. One advice, bring some $$$ along.
OSAKA/KYOTO
We took the famous Shinkansen from Tokyo station to Osaka. For the rest of the Japan trip, we’ve made the decision to stay in Osaka and visit Kyoto during the day. There are way more things to visit in Kyoto than is Osaka but accommodation there was twice the price. Wherever you choose to stay, transportation between both cities is fairly quick and inexpensive.
Pariwar ( パリワール) Indian restaurant close to Shin Osaka station. The owner is really nice and he will share his homeland memories along with his mother Indian food recipes. We went randomly and left full and amazed by the staff service! When the days are really hot, Pariwar will offer a Mango juice drink to his customers to refresh your body while walking back home.
Ajinoya, Okonomiyaki restaurant. Along with crab and takoyaki (octopus fritter) Osaka is sure famous for its Okonomiyaki, this savory pancake with multiple flavors. Again here, we randomly stopped at Ajinoya, just to notice after dinner that it was one of the best restaurants in the city center. After a tour of Osaka’s most busy street you can easily stop at this restaurant and let the local flavors take you away.
We’ve only spent a day in Kyoto and visited few of the many temples/shrines there are to visit over there. The places we visited were on our must-see list items in the city. We started by Arashiyama city (嵐山) by got off at Arayashima station and walked through Togetsukyō (渡月橋) the « Moon Crossing Bridge» ,where we enjoyed the best river, mountains views and sceneries and arrived in the village full of small little shops.
From the village, we walked to Tenryū-ji (天龍寺) temple. It was ranked first among the city five great Zen temples, and is now registered as a world heritage site. Its majestic gardens will leave you speechless.

The uniqueness of this place is breathe braking and indescribable. There is no word which can accurately describe this place. You should go see it for yourself.
We headed back to Arashiyama and spent time in the village walking around machiya (traditional houses), ate traditional ice creams and dressed in Yukata for women and men, you can have the full outfit for 12000 ÂĽ.
We then decided to grab a cab and go up the hill to Kinkakuji Temple (金閣寺), the Golden Pavilion. Travel took us around 20min and cost no more than 2000 ¥. For Kyoto’s most impressive sight, believe us it’s worth it.
c
buffalotrip
Last but not least, we spent the rest of the day at Fushimi Inari Taisha (伏見稲荷大社), at the base of Inari Mountain.
Memoirs of a Geisha movie’s fans, you’ll recognize this place. We spent a couple of hours there climbing up the mountain within those never-ending orange Torii gates, stopping here and there to take pictures.
SEOUL
Like Tokyo, Seoul is a hype city in terms of fashion. Gangnam is for sure one of the best areas to shop around.
We decided to stay at Gangnam Art Nouveau II hotel. The place is extra in terms of quality and price. In the middle of Gangnam you will be actually be in the heart of the city which never sleeps. 24/24, you can shop, party, eat, have a coffee or sing in a karaoke.
Seoul is one city that loves coffee. Coffee houses are everywhere. During our final day in Gangnam we walked around the streets and found this little hidden gem : DC Black Coffee. The music there is “soulistic and their vodka coffee very refreshing on a hot summer day.
We practiced at 1Million Dance studios. Ever heard about May J Lee or Mina Myoung? Dancers, Youtubers, of course you have. They are part of the 1Million Korean dance crew and are actually teaching in Gangnam every week. Dudes, go there early as seats for classes are limited to 60 and queue is very, very, long.
HONGDAE
Hongdae is by definition the place to go out in Seoul. Located close to Hongik University, this is where you can party every nights from Monday to Sunday.
You can start the night in a karaoke (Noraebang). We preferred Luxury Su Noraebang (럭셔리 수 노래방) in Hongdae’s main street. Why? Some rooms have floor-to- ceiling windows fronting onto the street, you can just show what you got.
BRAND NU BAR & CLUB
c
footage.framepool.com
Brand Nu has two places in Seoul, a bar and a club. If you want to feel like in a crazy Harlem Trap party, you can go the club. If you want to feel like hanging out in a chilled LAtype of place then choose the bar. One thing they have in common, you’ll hear the latest TRAP hits.
Sabotage club has for sure been our favorite club there. The cozy atmosphere, the 90’s vibe and the very good music contributed to our best nights in Seoul.
M2
We’ve been to this club on Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday after dabbin’ at Sabotage and elsewhere so we would lie if we told you it’s bad. You’ll get a taste of the local EDM environment: drunk people, VIP area, paper dollars everywhere and very cool staff.

ITAEWON We’ve decided not to spend too much time in Itaewon. It’s a bit like Roppongi in Tokyo, crowded with mainly foreigners.
OWL LOUNGE CLUB You were looking for a place to party with no foreigners in Itaewon? Congratulations, you’ve found it. In this “foreigner’s area” that is Itaewon, Owl Club is very popular for local young people who wants to enjoy a fair mix of rap, trap, dubstep and d’n’b. We went there after the Hamilton pool party located right behind the club and managed to enjoy their free drinks all night. This was probably our craziest, unexpected night in Seoul with great new friends.
DONGDAEMUN MARKET
You can distinguish Dongdaemun by its distinct neofuturistic design characterized by the « powerful, curving forms of elongated structures». The place is the center of Seoul fashion hub. You can spend hours and hours looking for hidden hype clothes or simply admiring the weirdness of the place.
RITZ CARLTON
We decided to stay there for our last night. This is where you feel like you run the city looking from the very top of the building. The Ritz has its own lounge, shops, spa, and club area. We could not dreamed of something else for our last hours in Seoul.
Something we haven’t mentioned in this special issue, is the people we’ve met throughout our trip. Actually that’s what travel is about right? Meeting new people from other cultures and sharing something with them. It could be an “Eonnie” (sister) you meet in a club, a bar manager inviting you for drink, an “Ajumma” (grandma) cleaning in the hotel or an actor twerking at Sabotage, they’ve all been big part of our experience and we would like thank them. Keep up the good guys!
If you want to see more pictures, follow us on Instagram @cerberemagazineofficial ! It’s not the end! Our ultra-Asia nostalgia leads us to introduce you those dudes who embody the Japanese and Korean sense of style. Lazuli and Giovanni can run Seoul streets anytime soon. Their styles are in between Hip-hop, 70’s oversized fashion with a hint or fierce. Enjoy!

NEW GODS FLOW ASIA DOPE EDITION BY KATE KALLOT To be completely honest, I’m not sure I should have called this one “New Gods Flow”. The folks we are featuring in this edition are by definition, not new they are just unknown by us average Europeans. Keith Ape and his It G Ma success, seem to have started to pave the way for Asian rappers to be recognized worldwide. With the growing popularity of the TV competition “Show Me The Money”, Korean Rap has been met with a wide success lately. This edition will feature Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese and Indonesian rappers. Guys, be prepared to step out of your comfort zone and enjoy the ride just because this dope is good for your ears.

Just like his best buddy CJamm, Bewhy has also participated to SMTM twice although he won the competition in season 5. R u m o r e d after the show to sign with Si m o n D ’s l a b e l A O M G, B e w h y has at the end decided to stay an independent artist. “Young King, Young Boss, Young Hustler” or commonly called Dok2 / Gonzo, was signed on his first label at the age of 13. No wonder how he founded and became the CEO of Illionaire Records one of the most influential hip hop label in SK today. Along with his co-CEO the Quiett and their artist Beenzino, they released the now Korean trap anthem YGGR in 2014. He has featured twice on SMTM (seasons 3 and 5) as a judge and won season 3 with the YG artist Bobby.
YGGR, just for your education
Often considered like the “Korean Drake” underground rapper Beezino is signed on the independent label Illionaire Records. He started by publishing his songs on DC Tribe website thanks to what he was noticed by Simon D. He raised to stardom by collaborating with several underground artists like The Quiett, DOK2, Verbal Jin, Supreme Team, Swings and more recently Epik High on the famous Born Hater song.
