Introduction
God has given each of us a key, a degree of faith, to conquer what seems impossible. Just as the Apostle Paul wrote, “…God has dealt to each one a measure of faith” (Romans 12:3).
You may not think you have much faith, but I want to tell you that there is faith inside of you and it is ready to be activated through the Word of God. As you spend time in the Word, your faith will increase to such a degree that you will be in awe at the things you will be able to accomplish for God.
When faith takes root in your heart, you will come to understand that the battle to believe has been in your mind. Then faith will become your strongest ally as you develop the 144 disciples who will become your greatest assets and produce the multiplication of your ministry.
Every chapter in this book will help you to see things from a di erent perspective. It will also help you discover and grow in the spiritual aspects of your ministry. We believe that the knowledge of Scripture produces a boldness that motivates us to confess what we believe. Those confessions then turn into declarations that we make into the heavenly realms, where the angels in turn act upon on our words. Since God
instructs us to not have unbelief in our hearts, we must remain steadfast in what our lips have spoken.
That is why Jesus said: “for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20). Entering into that dimension of faith is touching God’s heart so that His hand will move on your behalf and shower down His greatest blessings upon your life.
Faith comes as the result of spending daily time in the secret place of God’s presence. This place is where He gives you revelation into His Word and brings direction to your life. In His presence you will, discover your desires and longings, begin to formulate speci c goals, and learn to pray speci c prayers.
The formation of the 144 will be the result of investing your time, life, and ministry in the lives of twelve people that you will come to see as your children.
These individuals will follow your steps and strive to reproduce themselves in the lives of their twelve disciples. Paul told us that we must be an example to others. So, your twelve will imitate you.
This book will help you clearly comprehend the G12 vision and give you the faith you need in order to accomplish mighty things for God.
Chapter 1: THE POWER IN 144
G12: The Seal of the Vision
What is the signi cance of the number twelve? How important is that number? Well, I ask you, where would Christianity be today if Jesus had not chosen twelve disciples? Who would have written the Gospels? What would Israel be if Jacob had not had twelve sons? The nation of Israel would never have had twelve tribes. Throughout the Bible, we see that the number twelve is the number God chose to represent government.
We must understand that God is Spirit, He is eternal, and He inhabits eternity. When God created man, He established time and space. That means that God used what was eternal and established twelve governments. He called them months, and the sum of these twelve months would equal one year. This is how He created time. God established the G12 to bring order and organizational structure to the
church. In the Old Testament, for example, He appointed the leaders of the twelve tribes to shepherd the nation of Israel. In the New Testament, the Lord chose twelve Apostles to facilitate and administrate the growth of the church.
Before you can be a father to twelve spiritual children you must rst be an example to them, because these twelve will emulate you in everything and then they will in turn motivate others to follow their example. That is how you become a leader of 144 disciples. Perhaps no one had ever heard of you before you embraced this vision, but participating in the G12 will cause you to be known as a respected individual who has gained the esteem of his or her disciples. As a spiritual parent, your responsibility will be to guide, motivate, encourage, and support them—and this kind of leadership inspires respect.
In today’s society, it is evident that people have lost all respect for humanity, but the G12 vision seems to bring forth a rebirth of respect, honor, and dignity. I have witnessed this rsthand in the lives on my disciples who, prior to joining the vision, had lost all the respect of their families and friends. No one believed in them and they did not believe in themselves. But as they became a part of the church, the Lord transformed them. At rst, some people thought these men and women were crazy. However today, those same ones admire and respect them. Those who once looked down on them now call them “pastors.”
“Then I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God. And he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, saying, ‘Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees till we have
sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.’ And I heard the number of those who were sealed. One hundred and forty-four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel were sealed.”
Revelation 7:2-4
The passage above is a “now” word; it is for this season, the end times. Leaders must focus on completely developing twelve disciples and helping each of those individuals develop their team of twelve. Let’s not allow ourselves to be distracted with the thousands (those will come later). Let us discover the blessing we receive as we help develop our 144 disciples.
The Seal upon the Leaders
You may recall that the Lord marked Cain’s forehead as a result of the sin he committed by murdering his brother. This mark was a seal—not a physical one but, a spiritual one (because God is Spirit). When people saw Cain, they sensed the mark that was placed on his spirit.
A spiritual mark will identify a person. Think about Adolf Hitler. He may not have had a physical mark, but when you see a picture of him, you immediately associate him with the Holocaust. On the other hand, when you think of Abraham Lincoln, you will probably identify him as the righteous president who fought to abolish slavery. What about Moses? He carried the mark of a deliverer, especially to the Israelites. How about Abraham, what does He remind you of? Faith. And Abel? He reminds us of an acceptable o ering. See, all of these men have a seal, a mark. But the marks are not physical, they are spiritual.
In today’s consumer society, we can identify certain products because they have been branded. Their advertisers have created a graphic identity (which is a type of mark) to function as an external expression of the product inside their packages. The brand and everything the brand represents entices consumers. The same is true in the spirit realm. There are marks that even Satan recognizes. He knows the value of a mark. This is why he tries so hard to mark people, even during the early stages of childhood. He uses trauma to mark individuals with rejection, knowing that rejection will attract the spirit of fear and feelings of insecurity and abandonment.
When people have experienced a trauma (even at an early age) their lives are scarred. These scars produce spiritual marks that continually attract evil forces that are assigned to these individuals’ lives. For example, people who have experienced past failures are prone to repeat the same cycles throughout their lives. In the spirit world, demons can see the marks and they are attracted to them. In the speci c case of trauma, demons of insecurity, fear, doubt, torment, and desperation attach themselves to people who have experienced trauma. Similarly, a person full of bitterness will attract hate and vengeance, someone full of rage will attract violence, and a negative person attracts suicidal thoughts.
We must realize that no one can see these marks with human eyes, because they are spiritual. Even when a person appears to be ne, he or she can be carrying a negative scar that causes a tendency toward oppression. What does the Lord want to do about this? In the story of the Good Samaritan, He teaches that He came to heal the brokenhearted. He
