Cartoline d’epoca di località e spiagge dorate, idilliache scenografie per vacanze estive, fughe d’autunno o clandestini rendez-vous su yacht esclusivi. Party dall’impeccabile dress code con lady avvolte da maestosi gioielli e facoltosi gentleman in tuxedo d’ordinanza. Erano gli anni ‘50 quando l’Alta Società e i suoi più celebri protagonisti scelsero le rinomate perle della French Riviera come meta d’eccellenza per i momenti di svago, mondanità e relax. Storie affascinanti che fecero sognare il mondo intero, consacrando tra le pagine dei rotocalchi e nell’immaginario collettivo la fama e la magia di questi luoghi. A partire da quella di Grace Kelly, l’attrice hollywoodiana “nata principessa”- come profetizzò in tempi non sospetti Frank Sinatra - che nel 1956 sposò il Principe Ranieri, in quello che fu definito il matrimonio del secolo. INDIMENTICATI CAMPIONI IN POLE POSITION
Erano gli anni ‘70 ad accendere i riflettori su quel guanto di sfida, lanciato come dadi contro la sorte, tra due piloti simbolo di un’epoca. L’uno austriaco, l’altro inglese, entrambi avvicinati da una passione indomabile per il rombo dei motori e il suono delle ruote contro l’asfalto. Due indiscussi protagonisti di un’ancora pioneristica Formula 1: James Hunt – per gli esperti del settore “Hunt the shunt” - e Niki Lauda “il computer”, soprannome che si guadagnò per la precisione nel mettere a punto il proprio veicolo. Un duello che attraversò i circuiti di tutto il mondo incluso quello cittadino di Montecarlo, sede del celebre Gran Premio di Monaco, palcoscenico della quinta prova della stagione 1975 e della sesta del 1976 del Campionato Mondiale di Formula 1. In entrambe le occasioni, a salire sul podio fu Niki Lauda, che a distanza di tempo ricordò così l’antagonista di sempre: «Le nostre vite si sono sempre incrociate. Per tanti aspetti eravamo uguali. Quando lo guardavo negli occhi, capivo esattamente quello che provava. Ho sempre nutrito un grande rispetto per lui in gara. Era un grande pilota».
UNFORGOTTEN POLE POSITION CHAMPIONS. The Seventies turned the spotlight on the challenging gauntlet, rolled as dice against fate, between two symbol pilots of an era. One was Austrian, the other was British: they both held an indomitable passion for the roar of engines and the sound of wheels on the asphalt. They were two undisputed protagonists of yet to be developed Formula 1: James Hunt - for experts in the field known as “Hunt the shunt” - and Niki Lauda “the computer”, a nickname he gained thanks to the accuracy in setting up his own vehicle. The duel crossed the racetracks worldwide including the streets of Monte Carlo, hometown of the famous Monaco Grand Prix, the stage of the fifth round of the 1975 season and the sixth one of the 1976 Formula 1 World Championship. On both occasions, on the podium, it was Niki Lauda who after a long time remembered his all-time antagonist saying: «Our lives have always come across. In many ways we were alike. When I looked into his eyes, I knew exactly what he was feeling. I have always highly respected him during the race. He was a great pilot».

Se vivere il mare è una passione, affrontarlo su una barca a vela è una filosofia di vita.Dal “Manitou”della famiglia Kennedy, uno splendido yacht a vela di due alberi, che custodì nel suo sfarzoso salone segreti e misteri della guerra fredda, a “Capricia”, “Agneta” e “Stealth”, le inseparabili barche di Giovanni Agnelli. Fino al celebre “Tuiga” del principe Alberto di Monaco, fiore all’occhiello e simbolo ancora oggi dello Yacht Club monegasco, fondato nel 1953 dal principe Ranieri III di Monaco. Sono solo alcune delle storiche imbarcazioni veliche che solcarono le acque del Mediterraneo approdando in questi lembi di costa. Gioielli nautici senza tempo che ospitarono a bordo teste coronate, abbaglianti volti hollywoodiani, aristocratici e intellettuali. Tutti persuasi da quel monito che sembrava riecheggiare dal profondo degli abissi: “Dobbiamo liberarci dalla speranza che il mare esisterà per sempre. Dobbiamo imparare a navigare nel vento.” Come quelle, indimenticabili parole di Aristotele Onassis.

Cromatismi ambrati della Plage de Pampelonne a Ramatuelle, i suggestivi scorci della zona di La Ponce, rinomato set dove Roger Vadim girò la pellicola “Et Dieu créa la femme”, e ancora le insenature nascoste, le collinette soleggiate e i paesaggi marini orlati di palme. Non è un mistero che la Costa Azzura sia stata nei decenni la musa ispiratrice di artisti, pittori e paesaggisti, firme celebri come Matisse, Picasso, Chagall, ma anche Arman, Yves Klein e Cesar che qui scelsero di soggiornare a più riprese. Un’ opera d’arte en plein air che ancora oggi custodisce come un tesoro l’estro e la creatività dei suoi visitatori più celebri.
