Assumpta'sorangehouse
I love to walk in different places in this neighborhood full of charm, culture, history and nature
On Sunday morning I start my day having breakfast in a bar on the “Rambla del Poblenou”, then I walk towards the “Passeig Marítim” and before enjoying the green of the “Parc del Poblenou” and the blue of the sea, at the end of the Rambla, I see “La caseta de l’Assumpta” , which is the reflection of a struggle to preserve the memory of the neighborhood of Poblenou The residents of Poblenou see in this house more than bricks, because” La caseta de l’Assumpta” reminds a time appreciated by many people

The neighbors stopped the house from collapsing after Assumpta's death A house with more sentimental value than architectural. This orange house is highlighted among so many new buildings to remind us of the old Poblenou With this idea of resistance and love for the Poblenou I continue my walk with my dogs and I enjoy spaces for pets Finally, I breathe the calm of the sea breeze on a sunny morning
On Sundays, it’s a pleasure to walk through its Rambla, full of life and color. The terraces full of people enjoying the neighborhood and living together, sharing activities and talks.
For all this, I can say “Poble Nou”, I love you.

I still feel the heat in my insides, screaming to go out and contemplate my old friends, who like me are gone and are now just memories.
Giants and imposing, but cold and silent Standing out among the modern constructions
Many people pass in front of us and do not understand why we are here
But we know…
Poblenou,theturnofthecentury
In the 19th century El Poblenou is an industrial neighborhood in Barcelona city. Its streets are full of factories with typical chimneys. The chimneys are today the symbol of the past of Poblenou.
In 1992, the Olympic Games of Barcelona change the look and open the neighborhood to the sea.
Today El Poblenou is a modern neighborhood with great avenues, parks, and tall buildings but also a little village which doesn’t lose his essence.
I like to walk with my family on Sunday in the Rambla, the fisherman neighborhood and the beach. The beach is full of people, children, bikes, and dogs.
The culture is present in the neighborhood with the Casino, the Cultural Centre of Poblenou, the Centre of Digital Arts and the libraries.
The image of Poblenou changes because every day there are more hotels, restaurants and tourists. I don’t like that but is the price to pay for a neighborhood which opens to the sea in Barcelona.

Beautiful Sunday!
I wake up very happy, wishing to enjoy the day I can hear birds singing. The sun begins to draw the shadows of the trees. After having breakfast, I decide to choose the best option to walk along the boulevard of Poblenou, sit near the beach and sunbathe while reading the book “The happy Prince”.
I am so lucky to live in Poblenou!!!

I want to explain the transformation of Poblenou.
The neighborhood has a lot of schools because every day there are more young families.
There are new buildings with great technologies for the people’s work.
At the end of the Rambla we see a great beach and the magnificent sea. I like to walk with my family and my friends on weekend. Poblenou is a great center of diversion, there are a lot of restaurants with food from around the world.
At the first weekend of the month there is a music festival in “Palo Alto Market”: there are a lot of accessories stores, clothes, drinks and food.
Thearrival
My first day in Poble Nou, was the day of Sant Jordi.
My house is located in the avenue of the Poble Nou, near Perú Street The neighborhood is situated in front of the sea. I am delighted , since I come from the interior of the country
My first wish was to go to the beach I liked very much his walk, its amplitude and the movement of the people, so full of life!
Someone greets me and I don't see who it is, they´re a group of girls I think I know who they are!
Perhaps? On my first day I find friendship? A cosmic encounter? I am convinced of having succeeded in coming to live in the Poble Nou.
ThePoblenou
I love to live in Poblenou because it has everything:
I like it because it has a beautiful and big Street, “La Rambla del Poblenou”, a meeting point for all the people where we can sit in any restaurant when we are thirsty and hungry or we can go shopping in different kinds of shops
I like it because it has a fantastic beach where we can take long walks in the cold winter and swim and sunbathe in the hot summer
I like it because it has a lot of cultural offerings and funny popular festivals.
But, I like it more because it has hard-working, nice, happy and helpful people
