REMINDER – FIMI CALL : Get a 5% discount with CFE Children’s Fashion Europe (CFE) once again collaborates with the International Fair of Children’s Fashion, FIMI, (www.fimi.es) which will be held in Valencia (Spain) from the 20th – 22nd Of January 2012. With this agreement CFE offers its members 5% discount on floor price. With over forty years of experience, FIMI is considered as the second largest fair of the sector. This 74th edition expects to reach the good figures that have located it at the top of the Kids Fashion Exhibitions. FIMI has recorded, in July, 3625 visits of which 10% are foreign visitors from 38 countries. This represents an increase of 3% over the last edition of Spring / Summer held in 2010, and shows how FIMI is developing its international facet, being every edition a little bit more the showcase of children’s fashion at a world level. CPM Kids - European children’s fashion triumphs in Moscow The 10th children’s fashion Catwalk of CPM Kids becomes the largest in its history. Thursday 8th of September saw the successful closure of the 17th Collection Première Moscow – once again confirming its role as the uncontested nº. 1 fair for Eastern Europe. Over 1.400 collections from 32 countries presented themselves to the 17.500 trade visitors. On an exhibition space measuring 48.000sqm, visitors were able to gain an overview of the 2012 Spring /Summer collections and place their orders. A total of 22 fashion shows in the event arena generated an exciting mood at Moscow Expocentre. CPM Kids Catwalk, organized by the association Children’s Fashion Europe, was for sure one of the biggest attractions of this fair. The European catwalk in the Russian capital hosted 9 wonderful Spring/Summer 2012 collections. Barcarola, Blue Seven, Bóboli, Cóndor, Garvalin, Kinderit, Lea Lelo, Mayoral and Special Day proposed us a world full of life, light, colors and flowers, a place were the kids can play, having fun and enjoying wearing casual and easy wear clothes, as well as distinguished and elegant oufits. The public was thrilled and the kids on the catwalk were just stunning in their new collections! Next edition of CPM Kids Catwalk will be held from 28th of February to 2nd of March of 2012 and will count again with Children’s Fashion Europe’s coordination.

Design4Children Project – 3rd meeting in Tel Aviv Tel Aviv has hosted on the 19th and 20th of September the third meeting of Design4Children Project. On Monday morning, the partners have discussed about the Biomechanical & physiological criteria for enhanced comfort and functionality and the Childcare Product Related Processes’ Characterization that have been analized by IBV during this first year of the project. In the afternoon the plan of use, the exploitation and dissemination activities were the center of interest of the meeting. During the workshop in the second day, the partners received the presentation of design supporter developed by ISRI/PERA the specifications draft and plans, the updates in purchase advisor results and finally the presentation of the virtual tester result plans. Next meeting for the Design4Children partners will take place in Sofia, Bulgaría, at the beginning of March 2012. BraM Project – 6th meeting will be held in Valencia The city of Valencia (Spain), where the headquarters of Children’s Fashion Europe are located, will receive the 6th and the last meeting of the European project BraM, Brand Management in Children’s Fashion Industry the 17th and 18th of October 2011. During this two days meeting, the partners from Finland, Sweden, Greece, Italy and Spain will be discussing the results of the pilot test and the exploitation of the course. Also the final conference will be organized which will take place in Brussels in November or December 2011, where the final results of braM will be presented to stakeholders and to the public. FINATEX - Welcome to our newest collaborator FINATEX, Federation of Finnish Textiles and Clothing Industries, from Finland, is now a collaborator of CFE! The Federation of Finnish Textiles and Clothing Industries is a lobby, training and service organisation. Their primary mission is to enhance the business potential of members operating in the highly-competitive Finnish and international markets by furthering their business and labour-market interests. The Federation has around 150 members together employing a labour force of nearly 8,000, i.e. well over 90 per cent of the total for the sector. They are a member of the Confederation of Finnish Industries and Employers (EK).

CHILDCARE TRENDS 2011/2012 – Essential tool for designers and manufacturers ASEPRI (Spanish National Association for Children’s Products) and AIJU (Toy Technology Center) presented the unique publication on international trends in childcare at the KIND & JUGEND 2011. The project brings together the most interesting proposals on the market, developed from the most influential trends, and highlights ideas and concepts which allow manufacturers to adapt a single product for different target groups. Convenience, Safety Obsessions, An Expression of Myself, Natural Instinct and Eco Good are the five macro-trends that consider particular values and high demands than influence in product design. They have a long term projection.

KIND & JUGEND 2011 - More than 21,000 trade visitors from 106 countries Children’s Fashion Europe participated again to Kind + Jugend 2011 in Cologne, which took place from the 15th to the 18th of September. At this occasion, CFE promoted its members' brands, through the diffusion of its catalogue, which has been given to numerous professionals who visited the stand. The fair, considered as a reference in the childcare sector, set new records in terms of figures for exhibitors and visitors. For the first time, more than 21,000 trade visitors from 106 countries took advantage of this international business platform in Cologne to gain a comprehensive overview of the trends and new products from the global childcare sector. The number of exhibiting companies was also higher than ever before: a total of 940 suppliers from 41 countries presented their product ranges. "A total of 72 per cent of the visitors came from abroad, and the corresponding figure for exhibitors was 80 per cent. These are not figures you see every day in the trade fair business. CFE in Brussels meets the European Commission On the 28th of September, on the occasion of the 2nd meeting of UEAPME's “Textile ad hoc working group” in Brussels, CFE had the chance to meet Mr. Jean – François AGUINAGA, Head of Unit, Textiles, Fashion and Forest-based Industries, at DG Enterprise and Industry of the European Commission. Mr Aguinaga was introduced to CFE and its objectives, and has offered the opportunity to be part of a Study group within the above European Commission Unit that will discuss the needs and issues of the Textile and Fashion sector. Therefore, CFE will be the voice representing the Children's Fashion and Childcare companies in Europe. Also, CFE met in Brussels Euratex, the European Apparel and Textile Confederation, with whom they will start to cooperate for the dissemination of CFE's European Projects.
