Newsletter nº 2 - September 2011 ASEPRI presents Design4Children research and future applications in Emprenem Junts Convention Last 3rd November 2011 in Valencia Exhibition Center, as part of the event Emprenem Junts Convention, a Convention for young entrepreneurs, the Design4Children project was presented explaining the research activities and its main results. This was one of different projects presented in the session “Benefits of Networking. New models of Cooperation”. One of these models presented was the iCREO Think Tank, a model of cooperation and innovation in the Valencian Region with more than 30 people involved from SME –AGs. Among projects referring to innovation in Childhood was presented Design4Children. This project lead by ASEPRI, and technically coordinated by IBV, member of iCREO Think Tank, is a clear example in European Cooperation through Competitiveness and Innovation in the Childcare Products Industry. In this session, members of esTIC and ASCER presented iCREO projects in Mobility and Habitat. In addition, different projects in Childcare Industry were introduced to people assisting.

THIRD MEETING OF DESIGN4CHILDREN PROJECT Tel Aviv has hosted on the 19th and 20th of September the third meeting of D4C Project. On Monday morning the partners discussed about the Biomechanical & physiological criteria for enhanced comfort and functionality and the Childcare Product Related Processes’ Characterization that have been analyzed by IBV during this first year of the project. In the afternoon, the plan of use, the exploitation and dissemination activities were the centre of interest of the meeting. During the workshop in the second day the partners received the presentation of design supporter developed by ISRI/PERA the specifications draft and plans, the updates in purchase advisor results and finally the presentation of the virtual tester result plans. Next meeting for the Design4Children partners will take place in Sofia, Bulgaria, at the beginning of March 2012. Prosumer.NET: CFE presents the Design4Children Project Brussels, 22nd of June: CFE is one of the many participants to the European seminar on consumer Goods research organized by Prosumer.NET, the Networking European Technology Platform addressing Design-based Consumer Goods Industries and Related Research. During the session regarding Strategic Research Themes, in particular the Customization, Personalization and Consumer Empowerment, CFE was invited to present the Association and its projects, in particular the Design4Children project, its aims and future results. Once more this has been a great opportunity for the D4C Project to be introduced to new stakeholders of the textile and consumer goods sector and start a useful collaboration with the Prosumer.NET platform and its participants. The next Prosumer.NET meeting will be held in Spain, in Elche, in the premises of Inescoop. For further information: www.textile-platform.eu

Muotikaupanliito and Modin magazine promote the D4C in Finland The Finnish partner Fashion Commerce in Finland Association has worked on the dissemination of the Design 4 Children project in versatile ways during the first year. The newsletters and press releases sent by the association have reached a wide audience of fashion professionals ranging from our member companies to other stakeholders and from fashion magazines to financial and news press. In addition the project has been presented via press release, leaflets and logo visibility at all major fashion trade happenings in Finland. MODIN, the fashion trade magazine published by the association has issued articles about the project. D4C in Italy: Riccione Moda Italia CNA FEDERMODA (the National confederation of crafts and SMEs in Italy), the Municipality of Riccione and the Chamber of Commerce in Rimini have organized once again the National Competition of Young Fashion Designers in July 2011. This contest allows, since already 20 years, talented young people to become known in the Italian fashion industry. A commission composed of prestigious designers and entrepreneurs selected the 30 finalists within young designers, students of public and private schools and centers of fashion, art, style and design. A dedicated section representing children’s clothing was set up with the collaboration of Children's Fashion Europe (CFE) and included the presentation of the actions led within the project Design4Children, in order to inform new designers on the new tools they soon will be able to use.
