FAQs SO what is the SPLATTER DASH™? Just about the most fun you and your friends can have while running, or jogging, or walking on Sunday, October 11, 2015. Start out as a blank canvas... end up as a colorful work of art, covered in a rainbow mix of beautiful colors! There will be 7 COLOR STATIONS along the route where you will be SPLATTERED in color and then a blast of color will greet you at the SPLATTER SPECTACLE FINISH! Create a team, or be an individual; Just come out and have fun!
WHAT IS THE COLOR MADE OF? Corn starch – you could eat it! The colored powder is produced in the USA and is 100% non-toxic, food-grade corn starch. It is totally safe but you still want to keep it of your eyes and lungs so wear your sunglasses! We will provide a bandana to cover your mouth if you choose. The SPLATTER SQUAD will be instructed to NOT throw color directly into faces.
DO YOU LOVE NATURE AND CRINGE AT THE THOUGHT OF COLORING THE OUTDOORS? Relax! The colored powder is BIODEGRADABLE. A good rain will take care of it and there will be no trace of the color left behind to compete with the beautiful fall foliage. No animals or plants will be harmed in any way from this event. We promise!
NEED A GOOD REASON TO FIND THE TIME? Kids in Delaware have been traumatized from emotional neglect, physical abuse and mental abuse. By participating in the SPLATTER DASH™ you or your team will be supporting CFF efforts to help children who are facing adversity on their journey to adulthood. It’s hard to argue with that! Not enough? Registrants get a bandana and a COLOR packet!
WHO SHOULD RUN? Everyone loves to have fun, so everyone is invited. Sorry, NO strollers or dogs are allowed on the course. This is noncompetitive, short “run” that you can walk, stroll or even hop, skip and jump your way to the end. All levels and ages are welcome.
HOW OLD DO I NEED TO BE TO FORM A TEAM? Anyone can form a team. In fact, we invite kids as young as 3rd grade! See course description to help you decide if your little runner and their teammates have what it takes to do the course.
HOW CAN I REGISTER? Visit bitly.com/RunFest15 to register as an individual or to start a team! The more the merrier so get your friends together and create a team or create several and challenge them to raise the most money for CFF!
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? White, of course! Wearing white is the best but whatever you choose, be prepared to have it all turn into a rainbow of color. The color mostly washes out but it can stain. If you want to preserve the color, instructions will be in your packet. We suggest you bring a towel or plastic bag to sit on for the bus and for your car.
CAN I JUST WATCH? Absolutely! Spectators are welcome. We want you to have fun, too, so there will be COLOR packets for purchase. Buy a few and stand in the designated areas along the run route. Then SPLATTER your friends, family or anyone else who is running the course. Be aware that you will most likely end up with some color on you as well.
