OLDHAM METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL ELECTIONS 5TH MAY 2011
EILEEN HULME The local choice for
Chadderton Central State Registered Nurse & Health Visitor School Governor for the Radclyffe School & Stanley Rd School Regular attendee at St Herbert’s Member of Health & Wellbeing overview & scrutiny committee
ACTION FOR YOU ALL YEAR ROUND Dear Voter
I would consider it a great privilege to be re-elected to continue helping our local people. Instead of the old kowtowing Councillors who put party before town, I have and will continue to put Chadderton first!
Over the past four years I have enjoyed working for and with the people of Chadderton. There are numerous community groups in the ward and working with them has proved very rewarding and enlightening. It is unfair that electors shoulder all the burden of the forthcoming savings and that is why since last July I have taken a 10% cut in my Council allowance. Alongside this I pledged to
support a 0% council tax and am pleased to say we have delivered on this. I am committed to being a “grass roots” Councillor who always puts residents views before party politics.
I want to make sure that basic principles such as a freeze in council tax and giving greater powers to local people are delivered on again. On May 5 vote Hulme your local voice for Chadderton.
Send a message to Oldham Council that Chadderton Central is as important as any other part of the borough. Yours Sincerely Eileen Hulme

Your local Conservative team have frozen Council Tax for 2011/12 giving households a well deserved break. Conservatives supported the overwhelming majority of First Choice Homes Tenants to move to registered social landlord status, bringing in £149 Million. Continue to protect frontline services related to the most vulnerable people in our community as well as libraries, leisure-centres and swimming pools. We will continue to explore all options in reducing the cost and number of Councillor’s and the cost of managing the Council, Cllr’s and senior officers. We will continue to support the recent considerable improvements made in our education services .

We have protected our libraries, leisure centres and swimming pools, while at the same time freezing Council Tax. Going forward, our vision is for a more accountable council, one that gives value for money and empowers local people.
A LOCAL MESSAGE FOR CHADDERTON
CARING AND CAMPAIGNING FOR OUR COMMUNITY
Eileen is actively fighting to support local residents who are suffering considerable problems with indiscriminate parking and unwarranted hostile abuse from selfish drivers. Eileen says “I am in discussions with the school, police and council officers, it is quite unfair to subject residents to this harassment and a solution must be found”.

After years of Labour rule, your local Conservatives have ensured that finally Council Tax will be frozen for 2011/12. Under Labour we saw Council Tax rates double, meaning hard pressed Chadderton taxpayers were constantly being squeezed. We felt it was important to give taxpayers a break.
