Over the past several months, I have been spending a good amount of time learning about the importance of prayer in my life and in the life of a child of God. I have obtained over the years many books on this subject, most of which have become treasures in my library. What I have found as a common thread in all my study thus far is that the foundation of prayer is the Word of God and an intimate relationship with God, Himself. I use the word intimate because a relationship with God must be more than just a recognition of some ‘greater being’ in heaven or even simply accepting Jesus as one’s personal savior. Both are beneficial, however; we must KNOW God as we are known by Him. The best way to describe prayer is to say that it is conversing with God. In order to have conversation one must be willing to both talk and discuss as well as be quiet and listen. Crucial to good conversation is to regard the other person as more important than yourself. Just as a proper conversation insists on giving both parties space to communicate their part, so it is with prayer. It is simplified to this extent: prayer is the dialogue between two persons who love each other. According to John 3:16, God so loved YOU! He loves you first, now, it’s your turn.
Living in a desert climate causes me to rejoice greatly at the sound of rain, and last night I got to enjoy that refreshing sound. Just like the sound and smell of rain in a dry place, so is the voice of our heavenly Father: soothing, replenishing, and lifegiving. We can recognize the sound of our heavenly Father by spending time with Him in the Bible. John 1:1 tells us that in the beginning was the Word, and Jesus is the Word. For us, it starts with the treasure of our written copy of the Holy Scriptures.

“O Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I can’t speak for you! I’m too young!” “Don’t say that.” The Lord replied, “For you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. Don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and take care of you. I, the Lord, have spoken!” (Jeremiah 1: 6-8) Often people struggle with new challenges because they lack self-confidence, feeling that they have inadequate abilities, training or experience. Jeremiah thought he was “too young” and inexperienced to be God’s voice to His world. We should not allow our feelings of inadequacy keep us from obeying God but rather develop our confidence in the Word so that we have the knowing that God is omnipresent in our lives. If God gives you a job to do, He will provide all you need to do it. Take a few moments to ponder on your past life to recall the opportunities you may have disregarded because of a lack of confidence? I’m certain, like myself, there are a few “inadequate life changing” opportunities which passed us by because of selfdoubting thoughts. These opportunities could have been Godly interventions encouraging us not to do “the wilderness thing” again!
Confidence makes the difference every time and the awesome reality is that this confidence can be cultivated daily in positioning ourselves to sieze our God-given destiny aligning ourselves for blessings, overflow and wealth in every area of our lives. Confidence and success are not just for the rich and famous, oh no, they are basic principles that can be developed by each one of us! “Confidence is the hinge on the door to success.” Andrew Carnegie said, “You develop yourself the same way you mine gold. To mine gold; one digs several tons of dirt to get to one ounce of gold. However, one does not go into a mine looking for dirt. One goes into a mine looking for gold! Can you grasp the awesomeness of self-confidence? You already have the gold as you are made in the image of Jesus Christ. He has already dug through the dirt and deposited all you need to complete the job He has predestined for you!
Confidence is the strength of Jesus Christ in you. In Matthew 6: 33 he writes; “But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you. Therefore, don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Confidence is the fuel, the Word, that empowers natural Godgiven talents. Let me give you an example: Let’s take the belief of wanting to create financial wealth. Well, where do we start? As the world is spinning at a speed unrecognizable to “quiet times and stillness” in allowing the Spirit to think things through, yet the answer really is quite easy! Pick up your Bible and start studying everything possible on “financial wealth.” You will notice within minutes how time becomes of no value as you are absorbed in the Word and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. In studying this subject your knowledge, understanding and wisdom will be sharpened. It takes our own effort to develop confidence and the Holy Spirit recognizes this strength in us. A person without confidence is like a Jumbo Jet sitting on the runway with an empty fuel tank. Our tanks are full, in the name of Jesus, in a time such as this, where we are chosen as the hidden people to do God’s work. Amen.

is not only knowing beyond a shadow of doubt what to do but also the doing of that knowledge. The Bible talks a lot about being a doer of the Word of God and not a hearer only, it is also written, that faith without activity is dead. Faith is another word for confidence. As II TIMOTHY 1:7 reads “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” Confidence is a sound mind.
is the faculty of doing or performing, Influence, force, strength, energy, and ability. As confidence is the faith and the assurance of knowledge of a matter, so then power is the activity that sees that confidence through. “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” JAMES 2:26 Works is the power in which to achieve what it is we believe. Where does this power, strength, ability come from? It comes God by the Holy Spirit. Remember Acts 1? “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you:” Also in ZECHARIAH 4:6, “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.” We rely on the LORD God to be our strength and we keep moving forward.
is God. We love because He first loved us. It is that simple. There are multitudes of examples of love throughout the Word of God. For this article, we recommend on section of scripture found in I CORINTHIANS 13. Yes, this is the famous ‘love’ passage; but have you read it lately? Even more importantly, have you DONE it? Today is a great day to start again. “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not love, it profiteth me nothing.” Q: BUT WHAT DOES LOVE LOOK LIKE??? A: “LOVE suffereth long, and is kind; love envieth not; love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Love never faileth:”

GOD IS NOT A RESPECTER OF PERSONS! What He has done for one person, He will do for you. Share your testimony. We want to hear from you. There are times we may struggle with issues or circumstances and to read about others who have taken God at His Word and been victorious gives us further proof and standing power because GOD IS. We endeavor to be perfect like Jesus, but even if we fail, that’s okay because He is plenteous in mercy. He picks us up and we continue following the LORD. It’s in the getting back up that encourages others to do the same to NEVER GIVE UP. When you share your story, you’ll touch someone, who when they read will find that they, too, can overcome their situation and be victorious. Send in your testimony of God’s goodness to you. I want to share a little personal story; I know you'll be blessed. On Wednesday mornings I go to a study on the book of James, it is filled with amazing women of all ages and walks of life, who look at things from many different perspectives and always speak love and encouragement over each other. It has been such a blessing to me. Well, yesterday we went through the study as usual and instead of breaking up into groups at the end of our time together to pray for prayer requests we all stayed gathered around the table to pray corporately.
It was late that dark October night, I had plans to feed the horses, then go to the house my brother was house sitting. Yes, we were going to have a party, just him and I, watching movies eating all the junk food we could. It was going to be great. Oh I made it to the place I was going, but only because of God’s protection for me.
As these beautiful women went around and prayed, one women whom I had only seen come to the group twice (so I really didn't know her) prayed for her daughter and mentioned her name. My heart started pounding out of my chest. I wasn't sure if I had heard the name correctly so I wanted to be sure to talk with her after we were done.
On the way to feed the horses 2 miles from the house, I had a little car pull out in front of me. Let’s just say when you are going 50mph your truck doesn’t stop as fast as you might like it to. Here would be the time when most people would freak out or even see their life flash before their eyes. This was not the case for me, God made my mind sound and calm in the time I needed it most! Praise Him!
So after the group finished up praying and ladies started going their own way, I made my way across the room to approach this woman who had prayed for her daughter. I asked her about her daughter and she told me all about her and repeated her name, even spelling it out for me (even thought I didn't ask her to). It is an unusual name one I had only heard ONE time before and that is when the Lord spoke it to me to pray for this person months earlier. That is why when I thought I had heard her speak the girl’s name in her prayer my heart started pounding out of my chest, I had never met anyone in my life with this name nor have I ever heard it spoken, yet it was a familiar name to me told to me only from the Lord. See in the latter part of 2010 I had some names of people on a list I was praying for, mainly for salvation but the Lord told me to get a pen and write this name out on my list. He said it and as I started to write the first letter, He told me each letter just as I wrote it, HE spelled it out for me. So when this woman SPELLED out her daughter’s name just as the Lord had done for me months earlier I KNEW it was confirmation that this is the girls mother, the girl I had been praying for, the girl the Lord put on my heart!! I proceed to tell the mother this story and she was in tears just knowing that someone, a stranger, had been praying for her daughter all this time too!! Isn't it WONDERFUL how our GOD works?! He knows everyone on the planet, he knows their name and HE knows when they need prayer and if WE will just listen to HIM and follow HIS leading we will see miracles happen, lives change. We may not see or meet them here in this life but surely in Heaven!!! I hope this blesses you and encourages you today dear ones, WE DO HEAR FROM OUR GOD!! ~Sarah Lindstrom, IDAHO
As I was slamming on my breaks, and I thought “I can’t T-bone these people or they might die,” which was exactly where I was going. So I turned the wheel left as far as I could, the front of our vehicles collided. After the collision, my truck kept going and it rolled twice. As it was rolling, I still had a complete sound mind. I counted the number of times I rolled and immediately prayed “Lord, don’t let this roof come down on me, and may those people be 100% okay.” As soon as my truck stopped, I was on my feet trying to get out. Upon getting out, I was able to see that the other people where fine just shaken up and I didn’t have a scratch on me. God protected me, everyone who showed up to the accident couldn’t believe I was in the truck when it rolled. The fireman, who took my heart rate and blood pressure, was shocked at how calm my heart rate was. Because of God’s unconditional love for me, I’m alive and here today. If He had not been there that night, I probably wouldn’t be here. Always know He loves you so much; He loved you before time! And when you don’t feel like He is there, know He is there! He will never leave you! Thank you Lord that You loved me first! ~Kara Prescott, IDAHO
Sometimes less (chemicals) is best. My suggestion is that not all surfaces should be cleaned with just water. So many of us are leaning toward the organic revolution, however, I am a firm believer that a disinfectant should be used on some surfaces some of the time. For instance, countertops or anywhere food touches and most bathroom surfaces do need a little something to kill germs. Here are a few things I clean with just water (or mostly water). CARPETS | Most of the carpets now have a scotch guard on them, so spot clean the specific areas with a cleaner, and just use water on the rest of the carpet. When we put a soap solution on the carpet, most of the solution does not completely come back up off the carpet, it leaves a residue and the residue will track more dirt. Also, harsh chemicals can remove the scotch guard. GLASS & MIRRORS | Micro-fiber cloth (available in the automotive department of Walmart) damp with hot water works wonderfully. FLOORS | tile, hardwood, linoleum, cork, travertine stone, and granite, all really do clean up better with just water. SHOWER & TUB | Using a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and water in the shower is great for getting off the soap scum and stained texture flooring of the tub. OUTDOORS | Hosing off your front walk-way and driveway will prevent dirt from being tracked indoors.
READ JOHN chapter 4:1-42
“And he must needs go through Samaria.” Jesus had a purpose, which began with a location, a woman in mind, and resulted in the salvation of one woman – then her friends. Jesus always moves with compassion. Wow! What a story of living water that transforms lives! I Love this woman! I love that what she tried to avoid talking about with Jesus became her testimony! Jesus does that. What could be hurting us the most, when we meet with Jesus and give him our pain, He will turn our pain to happiness. What was her name? The description of her was her name: the Samaritan woman
Who were the Samaritans? The Samaritans were the Jews located in the northern kingdom and considered impure to the Jews in the southern kingdom because they had intermarried with foreigners and served their own gods. 2 Kings 17:33 says, “They worshiped the Lord, but they also served their own gods in accordance with the customs of the nations from which they had been brought.” (The long version of explaining how the Samaritans got off track is 2 Kings 17:26-34) The Jews in the southern kingdom did everything they could to avoid traveling through Samaria to avoid them. Jesus did not respect such cultural restrictions. He was and is available to all cultures and all people. Here we see Jesus taking the shortest route from Judea to Galilee and right into Sychar. As we review in this story, while about his travels to Sychar, Jesus was about to walk right into one woman's life and change her forever. So, there she is, going about her daily routine of drawing water and in verse 9, much to her surprise, a Jew asking her for a drink of water. Keeping in mind how anti-cultural it was for him to speak to her, it was defiantly out of character for a Jew of that day. Then Jesus intrigues her in verse 10 “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” The gift of God is living water? Asking for a drink is one thing but now he is talking about a gift that is living water...huh?
We read on and she doesn't seem to understand how or where this living water is? How is he going to get it? He doesn't have anything to draw water with..... I love her curiosity in verse 15. She is committed to learning and hearing what Jesus has to say, “Sir, give me this water.....” So by verse 16, Jesus starts to get to the real point. He told her “Go, call your husband and come back.” She tries to shut him down with “I have no husband.” What was going through her mind, “Well technically, because I just live with him, I can say, I have no husband and I won't be lying.....right?” But the Lord didn't let her off the hook that easily; he draws out not just the issue with one man in her life but ALL the men. I would imagine she wouldn't have wanted anyone to really know any of this......let alone talk about it. And there she is, with Jesus, and he wants to sit down, over a drink of water and talk about “THAT.” The Messiah, is right in front of her! In verse 26 “Then Jesus declared, ‘I who speak to you am he.’ ” Gives me goose bumps!
Everything she is hoping for is already right in front of her! This story doesn't stop there. Verses 28 through 30 tell us she left her water jar, and went back to the town and said (testified) to the people, “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Christ?” They came out of the town and made their way toward him. Bless her heart, she went to evangelize! As we skip down to verse 39 and verse 41 we find the results of her efforts (her testimony). Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman's testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.” So when the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with them, and he stayed two days. And because of his words many more became believers. What an encounter. She met the Lord Jesus and we see a transformed life. I would hope that all of us will spend some time at the well, with Jesus, talking about “THAT,” and go tell others what Jesus has done for you! CHAIM

Do you KNOW if you are Toxic? Is it affecting you? Are you having trouble losing weight? Did you know that mercury, lead, other metals, and toxins can effect weight loss, hormones, sleeplessness, and more?
USA Wrestling Team Doctor, Chiropractor, and Radio Host, Dr. Rosie Main is knowledgeable, compassionate, and passionate about helping individuals achieve their health solutions for a maximized life. DrRosie@M DRINKING TIPS FOR HEALTHY HYDRATION
Water: The human body is about 75% water and 25% solid matter. The brain is said to be 85% water and is extremely sensitive to any dehydration or depletion of its water content. The brain is bathed constantly in salty cerebrospinal fluid. The water content of the body is called the solvent, and the solid matter that is dissolved in the water is called the solute! In advanced societies, thinking that tea, coffee, alcohol and manufactured beverages are desirable substitutes for the purely natural water needs of the daily 'stressed' body is an elementary but catastrophic mistake. While these beverages do contain water, they also contain dehydrating agents. They get rid of the water they dissolved in plus some more water from the reserves in the body." "Soda and caffeine-containing beverages don't replace water needs of the body. Caffeine is a dehydrating substance. It does not allow the water to stay in the body long enough. Within an hour you will urinate more than the cup of beverage that you drank. When children are given fruit juice and soda to the exclusion of water, it only compounds the dehydration problem. At the same time, a cultivated preference for the taste of sodas will automatically reduce the free urge to drink water when sodas are available." Q: How do you know if you are dehydrated? A: If you are thirsty it means that your cells are dehydrated. A dry mouth should be the last outward sign of dehydration. That’s because thirst does not develop until body fluids are depleted well below levels required for optimal functioning. READ MORE about water at www.WaterCure.com
Reach for a big glass of water before coffee. Start your morning right: morning is when you are most full of toxin and dehydrated. This water in the morning really gets your blood flowing. Drink a glass of water in the morning and another when you go to bed. Avoid relying on sodas, juices, or tea for your fluid intake. Drink water before and after food.
Have the winter blahs zapped your exercise routine? Call your girlfriend or sister and workout together. Q: Why a buddy? A: Having a workout buddy is extremely beneficial! Here are some reasons why: More accountability: You want to be able to do what you say you are going to do. You can conquer goals together. You can relate to, connect and motivate each other. Studies show you are more likely to get fitter and meet the fitness goal when you exercise with someone else! It’s more fun with another gal!
SQUAT AND TWIST Targets: legs and abs Feet hip width apart. Each buddy performs a squat, close enough to pass the ball back and forth. Squeeze legs, glutes, and belly. Pass the ball to your partner, staying low. Pass the ball 10 times clockwise, and 10 counterclockwise.
ROLL UP Targets: abs and arms Facing your buddy, sit with feet together. Roll down slowly, belly squeezing tightly, extending ball overhead. Inhale, and extend ball overhead, exhale, and roll up slowly, keeping ball extended overhead. Pass the ball to your partner, while crunching and rounding abs tightly, and perform the same move without the ball.
SQUAT AND ROW Targets: legs, glutes, back, shoulders One person sits back into a squat, feet and knees wide in a plie, while the other person squats, and bends from the hips slightly forward with a back flat. Pull the ball into the chest while squeezing the shoulder blades. Perform 10 repetitions, and pass the ball to the partner, and hold the squat while they row.
SHOE THROWDOWN Targets: abs One person lies on back, head slightly in front of partner's feet. Squeezing belly tightly, pull feet above hips, while holding on to the standing partner's legs. Legs can be straight or slightly bent. Standing partner gently throws the shoes down, while the laying partner squeezes belly tightly to resist the throw. Legs come down to 45 degrees, then back to start. Continue throwing feet for 45-60 seconds. Switch positions. **Keep back flat when lying down.
BALL TOSS With the ball overhead, toss the ball to your partner while keeping the belly tight. The partner that receives the ball squats low and tosses the ball upward while driving up from the squat. Perform 10 tosses, and switch roles.
TWIST AND PASS Targets: abs Sit facing your partner, knees bent and shoes touching. One partner has the ball. Both partners lean back, approximately 45 degrees, keeping belly braces and back flat. The partner without the ball holds the position, the partner with the ball twists from side to side. Perform 10 side to sides, then pass the ball and alternate.
OUR DISCLAIMER: Not everything we suggest here is for everyone. Please consult your doctor before starting any exercises, and listen to your body. If you feel sharp pain immediately discontinue. Stretches should be to ‘the edge of discomfort’ and will take time. Rushing through or forcing a stretch will have the opposite effect, and cause injury. Please soften your joints, never lock them, and look for the ‘stretch reflex’ a point at which you should back off a stretch…when your muscles begin to shake, engaging to protect themselves from damage. This sounds scary, but if you exercise common sense along with the muscles, you should be just fine!

Have you ever raced through your day doing, doing, and dealing with the stuff that comes up throughout your day so much that finally when you fall in to bed at night, exhausted, you think to yourself, what did I really accomplish today? Well welcome to the club! I have been there more times than I can even count. Being a mother of 3 very active children, a wife, and juggler of multiple jobs outside the home, I have had to learn how to manage my days to be the most effective and productive as possible. Now have I arrived...not even close, but I think I am far beyond where I was years ago and would love to help give you some simple tips to help make your life more productive and better managed so that when you get into bed at night you feel you’ve had a productive and worthwhile day.
The thing I find that works best for me is to make a list, a daily plan. st
1 area/category is URGENT Things that are extremely important and need to be taken care of right away. For example, crying child who is hurt, vehicle repairs, deadlines at work, fulfill a commitment you promised for that day. 2nd category is IMPORTANT but not urgent. It contributes to our life and we must do it, but it’s not a life or death thing if we don’t take care of it immediately. Examples would be goals, preparing for a meeting that’s coming up in 2 weeks, investing in relationships, long range plans, trips etc.
There are some just born with the industrious Proverbs 31 woman just oozing out of them, but for those of us who were NOT, we need to learn some skills on how to manage ourselves, our time and our homes.
3rd category is Urgent not important: The ringing phone, helping a friend, reorganizing your closet because you just can’t fit anything else in there. This is a major area of deception for most people and this is where they live. I’ll explain more in a minute.
The first thing we need to understand is that everything has an order of importance, not everything is an emergency and we need to not let others make us feel that way as well.
4th category is not urgent , not important…time wasters! television, books (for fun reading not education) Facebook, video games, gossip and the list could go on.
Granted, there are some things that are extremely urgent and need to be done immediately, but many times things can be categorized in another, less-urgent category.
Because I juggle multiple jobs, I have certain days of the week I do certain things. I have a typed out master list for the week that I follow loosely each day and then I typically make my daily to-do list according to my master plan. I make my to-do list in the morning, but sometimes I do it the night before so I can have a clear picture of what the next day looks like. So if you don’t make lists or daily plans, start now. Just because you have a great memory and you have these things rolling around in your head does not mean you will always remember them, so write it down.
th
This year, Sarah and Jarrod Lindstrom are celebrating their 19 wedding anniversary. They have three beautiful children who love the Lord and are walking with him. In addition to her days as a wife and mom, Sarah enjoys helping wherever the Lord has given her assignments: helping her husband and other ministries as they work together furthering the Kingdom of God.
After the list is made, look through it and think of the four categories. Is it urgent to me, my family or my job that I get this done today? If so, it needs to be top priority on the list. Next, put a time to things. This will give you a better idea of how much time you will need to set aside to accomplish your list. It is important when going throughout your day that you keep the list with you. So if you can use a planner, most phones have them built in, set up reminders. Group similar items together so your brain is working in the same direction, not scattered here to there. Set specific days to do certain things so it is consistent week to week. This is a huge help for me. I don’t have to reinvent the wheel each week just know that every Monday I work on these certain things and add to the list accordingly. Most importantly, STICK TO THE LIST! This is where the category 3 comes in the Urgent but not important category. Most people live in the urgent not important category. The phone rings at an inconvenient time for you, but you answer it anyway. You walk by the sink full of dishes, counter piled with papers, and kids’ shoes in the middle of the floor, and you stop to take care of them instead of sticking to your list to pay the bills and do grocery shopping or whatever was on your list to do.
Just that simple little detour ruins the evening because now you have to still go to the store to get dinner stuff, and it’s now busier than when you should have gone. Dinner will be later than normal and you’ll be frazzled with a hungry family waiting and you will still have to pay the bills! We cannot let other things dictate our day. We must have focus and complete what we have set out before us in order to move forward and not be running around feeling overwhelmed and never accomplishing what needs to be done. Don’t be afraid to cut things off, cut conversations, or cut meetings short to be able to move on with your day. We must learn to say NO to our haphazard habits and form new ones. Say No to the ringing phone if it’s not a convenient time for you , and say NO to too much extracurricular if the other areas in our life are showing lack. I would much rather have less stress and more harmony at home than to catch up with an acquaintance who never calls except when in need and monopolizes the conversation, who now, for some reason when I have a deadline wants to chit chat. We must prioritize in every area.
QUICK REVIEW make a list put times to it Set up reminders watch the clock be bold and cut stuff off, (yes even friends) make general weekly to do list that is typed out that you follow each week, STICK TO THE LIST!
Human beings have three basic needs. Food, water and love: without these, life is not sustainable. We have many ways to fulfill our need for food and water. However, we only have one way to fill our need for love, and it’s from God our Father. Many people try to fill this need for love in different ways. Money, spouses, family and power are all sought after to fill our love tanks. Unfortunately, all of these sources are incomplete, and most times, inconsistent. The only way we have peace and true fulfillment is when we seek the Lord. It is then we find His love. God has loved us with a constant, unfailing love. In this love we find fulfillment, provision, protection, stability, and hope. His love equips us with all of the tools we need to live a life victorious, the grace to run our races effectively. When we experience this kind of love from God, our lives are never the same. Out of God’s great love, He sent His Son Jesus to be all things to us in all areas of our lives. It’s out of this everlasting love that God sent His only Son to give us all we’ll ever need and more.
Everlasting love, or agape (perfect and unconditional) love, is the defining characteristic of our Father. God is love, and like any other gift from God, it’s perfect, unwavering, and unconditional. It was out of His lovingkindness God’s drawn me, and you, close to Himself. One reason we find fulfillment from God’s love, unlike other things we may look to fill this need, is that it’s everlasting. Everlasting: lasting forever and eternal. God’s love for us started before we existed. He so loved us that called us by name, knit us together, and knew us to the most intimate degree before we even knew His name. In Romans 5:6-7, it says this: “For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die.” The amplified version of verse 7 says this: “Now it is an extraordinary thing for one to give his life even for an upright man, though perhaps for a noble and lovable and generous benefactor someone might even dare to die.” Verse 8 says, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Can you imagine giving your own life as a sacrifice for someone who was not worthy of such an act? Can you imagine giving your all to someone who may not receive it? How much easier and satisfying it would be for us to give people what they deserve or earn? Take love, for example. Sometimes we love others based on how we feel, how they make us feel, their performance, or based on their track record and merit. How much easier is it to love someone that’s loveable? To give someone your all when you know it will be received well or that they “deserve” it? The absolutely amazing gift is this: knowing who we are, how we behave, where we’ve been, and even how we’ll receive this gift, Jesus went to the cross anyway! Before we could even fathom the amazing favor and grace we’d obtain by His sacrifice, He obediently went to the cross for our glorious exchange. Wow. That is everlasting love. Out of God’s lovingkindness, He drew us near to Himself, and banished the gap that sin created between us and God with the blood of Jesus. This is true, unconditional love. And the good news doesn’t end here. This love He lavishes on us will never end! Everlasting = Lasting forever: It endures through all things, for all time. Because God is love (1 John 4:8), and God is eternal, His love for us is eternal. Love is of God. Millions of years from now, God’s love for us will still be burning strong. Romans 5:5 says God poured His love out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. God’s love pours, just like a beautiful, endless river. No trickling, no dripping, no rationing of this love! This gift of the Holy Spirit is out of God’s everlasting love toward us, and it’s set upon us as a seal. Wrapped up in the Holy Spirit are all of the promises toward us as His kids. God’s everlasting love is seen in the “always” and “forevers” of His promises in scripture. You need anything? There’s a promise for it. Look to God to fill your needs, because He wants you to know His love. Believe Him to provide for your family, to show His love in your marriage. Believe Him for healing in your body, to soften hearts of loved ones. Believe He is the Redeemer, and He can turn anyone and any situation around for good. Out of His great love, it says in Ephesians 1:21 that the name of Jesus is bigger than any name that can be named. The name of Jesus has restoration power, and it can break any bondage. It’s out of His everlasting love, God has provided the answer to all areas in our lives. Take your need to the feet of God your Father. Watch His amazing love transform your situation. This is such good news! We can rest knowing we are adored and lavished with an agape love from our Creator. It’s out of our knowledge of this love that our lives are changed. Once God’s love calls us by our name, we are never the same. God’s love is absolutely perfect. It’s undefeated, unconditional, and undeniable. God’s love casts out all fear. There’s nothing to fear since we have a promise of deliverance and protection. (Psalm 91) God’s love tears the veil in two so we can fellowship intimately with Him, just as He created us. (Hebrews 10) God’s love softens the hardest heart, crumbles the highest walls because He shows Himself as Provider, Protector, and Trustworthy Father, and fills every need. God’s love encourages, it comforts, and it heals. God cherishes us so much, that Ephesians 3:18-19 is a prayer that we would be able to understand the magnitude of God’s love for us. God wants us to know and experience the love He provides that surpasses knowledge, which fills us with all His fullness. When we know what God has done to create us, save us, and give us a life abundant, we experience His love. He wants to fill our needs, empower our walk. It’s in these experiences we can then answer who God is to us, and our lives will never be the same. His love is profound, complete, abundant, redemptive and perfect, just like Him. God created us with this basic need for love, so we would look to Him to fill it. It’s the perfect equation, we need love, God is love, and the pieces fit together perfectly.

My name is Rachael, (Daughter of the King) I am blessed to be able to share with you my love story and the goodness of the Lord in my life! Growing up I didn’t have a lot of boyfriends and I thought something could be wrong with me. Seemed like all the guys I liked didn’t care for me in that way. But I didn’t know that God was preserving me for His best. When I was 15 years old, my family went on a mission’s trip to Thailand and Burma. My life was changed forever. It wasn’t just the poverty of the people that changed me, it was the joy of the Lord on their faces despite their circumstances. I loved Jesus before I went on that trip, but the look in their faces said there’s more and I wanted it. When I returned from my mission’s trip I began to spend a lot more time with Jesus in my room daily.
I discovered the way He saw me. I stopped caring about fitting in at school and started filling my mind with His words. The more I spent time with Jesus the more He gave me His heart for His people. My relationship with Jesus has been the foundation for my life and marriage. It is the root of who I am and what I do. At the age of 20, I was working in the church with my brother in ministry. I have a heart for the nations and connecting with brothers and sisters across the world. One night I was on Myspace looking up Christian friends around the world. I knew Kenya was an English-speaking country and thought it would be cool to have a Christian guy friend from Kenya. This guy popped up with the name Mike Onesoul, and I must admit I thought he was the most handsome man I had ever seen! I clicked on his profile and read his “about me” section to see what kind of a Christian he was (Ha-ha) because these days anyone says they are Christian.
He also worked with orphans, did graphics and led worship. I wrote him a message just asking to be his friend in Christ. We started out praying together and would set up times to meet and chat. We would encourage each other with scriptures and share testimonies. A few months went by and we desired that someday God would let us meet. We would pray that God’s Will would be done in our friendship. During this whole friendship, I was open with my family from the beginning. I told them about Mike openly and let them read my emails and chats. I didn’t want to hide anything from them.
While I had this friendship with Mike, I was working as a children’s pastor at my church and with refugees. Mike was growing in his graphic design business. He would do graphics for the kids’ ministry I worked with and even designed T-Shirts for us! Keeping our friendship was a testing of my faith but I believed that one day we would meet. We waited two and a half years for those doors to open. Mike’s parents are pastors and his whole family is involved in ministry. My brother and I went to Kenya two years ago to meet Mike’s family and also see what kind of ministry they were doing in Kenya.
and his family. My brother went home alone and I stayed for four months. My dad and one of my best friends came to Kenya. I returned with them when my four months were up and didn’t return to Kenya for five months. During that distance, Mike and I were able to decide if we could live without each other. That distance was the best for our relationship and caused us to seek God’s direction for our lives. My dad returned with me to Kenya for Mike’s brother’s wedding. During our stay Mike proposed to me and asked for my dad’s blessings. My dad gave his blessing on our relationship, however I still had to return to US and wait to see Mike again. We waited 8 months and then my family decided they wanted me to have my wedding in Kenya so that Mike’s family could see him get married. They sacrificed seeing their only daughter get married. On December 23, 2011 Mike and I were wed. Never in my life did I imagine being married in another country! With God all things are possible! Right now we are seeking God’s will for our lives and feel that God has called us to reach the nations for Him. Everywhere we go, we want to give glory to God and spread His love, because we both know it’s only because of Jesus we’ve made it this far. You know when your relationship is of God when it keeps drawing you closer to Him. I hope you all are blessed in the Lord. Continue to place your desires at His feet and trust that God has your best in mind. Blessings,
(Daughter of the King)
Welcome to Travel the World with CHAIM, where we highlight men and women of God who give their lives to fulfill the mandate of Jesus from Mark 16:15 “To go into all the world and preach the gospel, ….” Each month, you will travel the world with them and hear firsthand reports of the goodness of God. Connect, communicate, pray, and even financially support their good work.
We would like to introduce you to the Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF). Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) serves people who deal with challenges due to isolation in regions such as Africa, Asia, Eurasia, and Latin America. CHAIM: So, what is the MAF? MAF: Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) serves indigenous people living in areas of the world where transportation or communication is difficult. MAF enables the work of some 1,500 churches, healthcare organizations, relief agencies, development groups, government agencies, and mission organizations. Each year, MAF-US serves more than 600 non-profit, local government and mission organizations all over the world with aviation, communications, and learning technology services. Without MAF, some of these organizations would be unable to reach the people they serve. MAF's partnership enables these organizations and ministries to provide isolated people with vital services and goods while sharing the love of Christ in a tangible way. CHAIM: How many missionary families do you have currently on the field? MAF: There are approximately 180 families sent out around the world. We train missionaries to be pilots and to be equipped to reach and serve people who deal with challenges due to isolation of region. We even conduct cooking classes specific to regions or countries. Remote locations mean no quick run to Walmart or McDonalds. You can read more about these families and even follow their blogs on our website. (CLICK HERE or visit maf.org and click the connect tab) CHAIM: What’s the impact you’ve had on the world last year? MAF: In 2011, the Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) fleet executed 33,047 flights, logged 2.7 million miles, transported 98,610 passengers, and delivered 8 million pounds of cargo (food, medical supplies, etc) —all on 1,700 remote airstrips or waterways. More importantly, MAF saved 60,403 days of travel time—or 250 work years—over the course of 12 months. Redeemed for productive Kingdom work, these 60,403 days exceed the equivalent of 83 three-year terms of missionary service! MAF also provided communications and learning technology services to support the work of hundreds of Christian and relief organizations working to spread the Gospel and improve the conditions of remote people.
CHAIM: Tell us a little history – you’ve been around for nearly 70 years, right? MAF: We began in 1943 with three WWII pilots gathering for prayer, Bible study and discussion of missionary pilots. The MAF organization was underway by the end of the war in 1945. In 1953, five MAF pilots were martyred by Auca Indians whose tribe later comes to know Jesus Christ as Savior. The MAF has conducted rescue and relief flights for Zaire in 1964, Hurricane Mitch in 1998, and the earthquake in Indonesia of 2005. And in 2010, already well established in Haiti, MAF plays a major role in coordinating relief and rebuilding efforts after a devastating earthquake there. In 2010, a former WAC (Women’s Army Corp of WWII) pilot, Betty Greene, and MAF's first pilot of 1946, was honored for her military service. CHAIM: How can individual or churches get involved and help? MAF: Churches across the United States are enabling the ministry of Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) through their partnership. Would your church like to get engaged with MAF as well? Below are several opportunities for congregations to learn more about the MAF ministry and partner with us in sharing the love of Jesus Christ to the isolated people of the world. We encourage your missions committee or church leadership to prayerfully consider how you might partner with MAF during this next year. Host an MAF Sunday at your church! In Revelation 12:11, it is written: “And they overcame him (the devil) by the blood of the Lamb (Jesus Christ), and by the word of their (born again Christians) testimony;” TESTIMONY: solemn declaration or affirmation made for the purpose of establishing or proving some fact. Testimony differs from evidence; testimony is the declaration of a witness, and evidence is the effect of that declaration on the mind, or the degree of light which it affords. (NOAH WEBSTER DICTIONARY 1828) It happened one Friday night as we had a house full of guests, that I realized what a testimony was and how important it was to share that testimony with others – both born again people and those who don’t know Jesus yet. Each Friday night since last April, we have been opening our home to whoever would like to join us for a Bible study/church service. We rearrange the livingroom to hold as many people as possible, and start our little service about 6:30pm. We begin the service with some announcements about our ministry, sing a praise song or hymn, and then open with a praise scripture. Just before the preaching, we take time to pray for Jerusalem, the Jews, local pastors, and then for the preaching of the Word. Then Curt and I preach the Word of God together. It is such a joy and privilege to share the Word of God side by side with my husband. It was on one such Friday night that I had that ‘ahh – haa ‘ moment about testimonies.
After church service, we always have dinner as a group. It was then that our guests began to share some of the wonderful things that the LORD had done in their lives. Now the attention was on one testimony. We all turned our chairs around to listen with expectation to this speaker. The gentleman was telling experience after experience of hearing God’s voice, acting on that instruction, and seeing amazing miracles transpire. As he was sharing, the LORD was talking to me. “Cristina, don’t be in a hurry.” To which I replied, “I am the hostess and I think that we have to give another guest some time to talk, too.” But the LORD continued to speak to my heart and told me to just listen. This gentleman MUST share his testimony. There was a situation yet to come in this man’s life that this particular evening’s testimony would set into motion right decisions and victory. By the close of the evening, everyone was on the edge of their seats anticipating the next amazing miracle. The evening’s discussions and sharing had built up everyone’s faith and courage in their own walk with God. Remember Revelation 12:13? “And they overcame by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony” giving our testimony – our witness of God’s marvelous works – plays a part in our daily lives more than we realize. Most of us know that Jesus came, died and bore our sin, then rose on the third day, and is seated at the right hand of the Father in heaven. Jesus defeated the devil, death, and hell. But have you noticed the second part of this verse in Revelation? By the word of their testimony… it is vital to overcoming the devil in our life here on earth, that we say with our mouth the victory that Jesus paid for with his life. Our testimony is not limited to the day or event when we gave our life to Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Our testimony is ANYTHING that God has wrought in our life, or in the life of another. The word testimony is used in the KJV Bible 76 times. The Old Testament is full of the LORD telling his people to teach their children the mighty works of God – from one generation to another = testimony. Jesus told his disciples to go and tell, to preach, to speak, to say, to declare what they had experienced and seen during their time while Jesus was with them = testimony. Now it’s our turn. It is up to us to be “not ashamed of the gospel of Christ…” ROMANS 1:16. That is not limited to the 4 spiritual laws of salvation. Allow me to break through the religious/traditional muck. The gospel of Jesus Christ is GOOD NEWS! “Every good and every perfect gift comes from the Father above…” JAMES 1:17 When something is good in your life, it is because of God! He is good. LUKE 18:19 And when God is something, he does it, and gives it. Ok. So you see, that we are to go into all the world tell the GOSPEL. MARK 16:15 By definition, gospel is a good or joyful message. I leave you with this - PSALM 107:2
Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

Healthy fat is one of the most important nutrients that God has provided that we can put into our bodies, yet the low fat diet craze continues. There are bountiful benefits when adding healthy fats, such as avocado, almonds, and coconut oil, to our diets. Avocados are filled with potassium, folic acid, and lutein, which is a carotenoid that benefits the eyes. The fat in the avocado helps reduce bad cholesterol and increases HDL, our good cholesterol, and also helps prevent against cancer. Almonds, which are the seed of the fruit of an almond tree, also reduce cholesterol because of the vitamin E, magnesium, and potassium. Heart disease is also lowered when consuming almonds because of the fat. Coconut oil is an amazing food from God. It has many powerful properties, such as antimicrobial, antioxidant, antifungal, antibacterial, and soothing qualities all from the Lauric acid, Capric acid, and Caprylic acid found in the coconut. Coconut oil can be used for cooking, eating, and as a topical on your skin, which penetrates into the cell level also which protects the skin. The brain is 70% fat. Do you think low fat diets are helping our brains function? The brain needs fat to nourish the cells that allow us to think and feel. We do not have the ability to produce the fat that is needed; we only get this fat from the foods we eat. Healthy fats from avocado, almonds, and coconut oil are necessary nutrients needed for out bodies to function as God intended. Gen 1:29 “God said, ‘Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed: to you it shall be for meat.’ ”

is the most common advice I receive from moms who have raised children. Put everything else in life on hold and focus on the most important people in our life. I love to hear children laughing and will do almost anything to make them laugh. One of the most exciting aspects of having kids is to be one again. My kids and I love to go to the park. We run around and play on the slides, monkey bars and swings. I play with my kids as if I am their age. This might look crazy to some, but I am absolutely enjoying the childlike wonder my children have brought back into my life. Teaching our children about God in a way that they can relate to is a lot of fun. I tell my children that God is their friend. When they feel like they can‘t talk to me or dad, they can always call on Him. One day when we were driving home, and I heard my daughter having a conversation. She kept talking about her day and various other three-year old conversation topics. I asked her who she was talking to and she said “Mom, I’m talking to God!” Music to my ears! Being outside is a great way to teach our children about God and telling them that God is a creative God. He made the trees
that build our houses, the birds who sing us songs and the sky that gives us wonder. Every night when the sun sets, my daughter says, “God is painting.” There are frustrating moments while parenting, but the great times totally outweigh any fret we encounter. It all comes down to what we focus on. Our emotions follow our dominant thought. If we focus on how exhausting parenting is, then we will be worn out and disengaged. If we choose to focus on the good, then we will have more fun and will end the day with contentment. I want to look back in 20 years and say I laughed all the way. What do you want your memories to be when you look back? Mathew 18:3 tells us to have childlike faith. “Unless you change and become like little children you will never enter the Kingdom of God.” Children teach us this wonderful lesson. To see the world through their adventurous, pure, trusting minds is the most beautiful experience. Each of us has a host of lessons to learn in life, and we never know who or what will be the teacher. If we will let them, children will teach us to be forgiving, bold and fearless in our faith.
We can teach our children to laugh all the way.

And just as trees have many aspects to enjoy, so do these pages have articles, activities and helpful tools for parents and children alike. Enjoy the time under the cover of this canopy. Remembering that it is God’s doing and marvelous in our eyes.
“Hey, Katy and Brandon, why don’t you two go to your room and read while I fix dinner?” How do children spell love? Answer: T-I-M-E. One of the greatest ways to spend time with your child is through reading. Either listening to them read, reading to them, or both. If you have several children, a family reading time can involve them all at one time. Reading can be a wonderful one-on-one time with your child that leads to more bonding. With today’s busy schedules, it is a wonderful way to slow down and enjoy each other. It shows our children that they are important to us. Reading to young children can help them increase their attention span. As they concentrate on the story, look at pictures, and interact with the storyline, children develop more of a focus and better listening skills. Watching television can shorten your child’s attention span. The quick action, commercials, and remote control, all stimulate your child’s mind and create no need for acute attention. Reading calms them down and causes follow through in attention, concentration, and completion. These skills are necessary for future success.
Books can be chosen with lessons that you want to teach your child. If you want to work on certain character traits with your child, such as, honesty, friendship, citizenship, etc… choose books that teach these traits. Death or other emotional times can be dealt with through stories shared with your children. There are great books about bible characters and events designed for children. The topic choices are endless. Employees of book stores are wonderful guides to help you find books on specific topics. Your local librarian is also a great resource, too.
Children who are read to prior to kindergarten (age 5), develop greater language skills. Early reading begins to lay a firm foundation for future academic success. Raising a reader requires reading to your children in the early years. It enhances their imagination and increases their vocabulary. Even a 1-2 year old can begin to understand language and will develop better speech patterns by being read to. As an adult, reading is essential skill in life. There are books, newspapers, emails, recipes, magazines, reports, letters, and the list goes on and on. It is a fundamental part of life. Establishing a joy for reading early can help your child understand language and communicate more effectively.
One way to help your child become a more fluent reader is to choose books that are above their current reading level and read it with them. Your goal here is to build your child’s confidence in reading. Be very positive about your child’s reading. Encourage them rather than stopping or correcting them at every mistake. If children have difficulty reading, they can be very sensitive about their ability. Choose one or two things your child did well and praise them for their efforts. For example, “Katy, I liked how you raised your voice at the end of the question.” Or, “Good job re-reading that sentence so you could better understand it.” If your child is a reluctant reader, perhaps you want to read to them. Model how enjoyable reading can be. Choose books that would be of high interest to your reluctant reader. If your son likes rockets, read a book about them! As you read aloud, stop at times and let your child fill in a key word. A fun strategy when your child becomes a more capable reader is to alternate reading pages: you read a page, they read a page. Enjoy your reading time together. Your child is never too old to be read to or listened to. Reading aloud to your child, regardless of age, is the single most important thing you can do to help with their educational development. If you haven’t read to your child before, begin now. It is never too late to raise up a reader. Why not make February “I love to Read!” month at your house? If you’d like to contact Kathy, please email us info@chaiminc.com, or write us P.O. Time management is an important tool that can help you succeed at home, school, work and other personal endeavors. By learning how to manage your time, you will be able to: Achieve More Lead a Balanced Life Have More Free Time Meet Deadlines Overcome Procrastination Reduce Stress
Organization is the key to developing effective time management skills. The first step to being organized is to understand how you use your time. One way to do this is to keep a daily log for a week of everything you do (eat, sleep, study, and socialize) and when you do it. Once you have determined how you spend your time you will be able to plan for how you want to use your time. The following tips have been proven helpful in making a weekly schedule. Please remember that each one of us works in a different way, so you can take what you want from this list. You might also wish to come up with your own tips for time management. Identify fixed commitments such as classes, meetings, work, and activities. Set aside time for personal maintenance (eating, sleeping, and exercising). Block out study times on your schedule. Use your experience to set realistic goals for what you can accomplish in a given amount of time. Schedule regular study times – be specific “church” or “kids to school”. Know what time(s) of day you study best. Use these times for tasks that involve a lot of concentration. Use your "down times" for work that is less intense. Balance your activities: don’t forget to schedule time for yourself to relax and unwind. Schedule time for physical exercise and recreation. Schedule social activities. Schedule quiet time for thinking and planning. Keep your schedule flexible! Many experts advise allowing two hours of unscheduled time in a twenty-four hour period. Try not to be discouraged by what you are not able to accomplish. Think of making schedules as practicing a skill. Use what you have learned from this activity to improve your skills in the future.

The Lord has revealed to me, Christians are not in the place of peace we yearn to achieve. We judge people based on our perceptions rather than learning to understand and empathize with someone else’s perspective. We offer advice based on what we would or wouldn’t do. How often do we really try to put ourselves in someone else’s shoes and see life through their eyes? Jesus walked with sinners and those who had no hope. He empathized with them and did not judge them. He let their past be what it was and offered love rather than advice. The woman who was caught in adultery in John 7:53-8:11 was not judged by Jesus, but by the townspeople. Jesus told her to “go and sin no more.” Jesus is not critical, He is merciful. We must start seeing people with the same eyes He sees them. When we walk in someone else’s shoes, and hear their story, it provides us with a new perspective. Jesus walks in our shoes. He knows us very intimately. Because of the way He understands us, He gives us words and encouragement based on where we are in our life.
A gentle tongue brings healing (Proverbs
15:4). The world is full of people who need
someone who understands. Not a bunch of know-it-alls, judges and critics. Rather, people who really have Jesus living on the inside of them. Those who are the light in the darkness, and the warm arms of embrace. Joel Osteen said “love does not magnify a mistake, love covers it. Love defends it.” Let’s not be part of the problem, but part of the solution. God is the judge, our job is to be a friend..
We make this a reality in our lives by taking time to sit with people and let them talk. Talk less and hear more. Ask God to give you His eyes to see, His ears to hear, His heart of sympathy, His desire for mercy. When you’re not sure what to say to someone, don’t say anything at all. Most of the time, people just want someone to talk to . Our priority should be to see others as Jesus sees them. To give hope to the hopeless, love to the unlovable, mercy to those who have done wrong and wholehearted forgiveness. If we are going to be who we say we are, disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ, then we must live out what He has called us to do. We must renew our minds and be led by our Spirit. Jesus gave us the gift of unconditional love, meaning there is nothing we can do for Him to love us more or less. Being an example of His love and
goodness is the gift we give back to Him.

Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever. Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts. I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works. And men shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts: and I will declare thy greatness. They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness. The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works. All thy works shall praise thee, O LORD; and thy saints shall bless thee. They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power; to make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of his kingdom. Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations. The LORD upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all those that be bowed down. The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season. Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing. The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works. The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them. The LORD preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy. My mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever.
