changes everything

by Cristina Hawkins

“Being confident of this very thing, that HE which hath begun a good work in you WIIL PERFORM it until the day of Jesus Christ.” PHILLIPPIANS 1:6 CONFIDENCE: a knowing, not merely being aware, but a strong sense of assurance of or in a matter. It is an inner strength that effects and controls the situation. Everyday the confidence that we engage allows us to accomplish daily tasks with accuracy and efficiency. We all walk in varying levels of confidence each day without much thought. In the mornings, we start the day with confidence as we enter the kitchen and prepare breakfast. No worry or fear has victory over us as we scoop the coffee grounds into the filter of the coffee maker, no doubt paralyzes us as we pour the cold water into the top of the coffee maker, and boldly we press the start button; knowing that in a few short minutes we will reap the benefits of a job well done and enjoy a great cup of coffee. You may think this a silly illustration of confidence, but let’s examine the truth of confidence. Really, this is a great example because making coffee is an activity that most people do with very little thought of the process and yet this activity yields the reward we expect, with ease. Let’s take a look: Most of us have not grown the coffee beans we use each morning – that was done for us Most of us have not transported those beans to the store.

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” MATTHEW 11:28-30

Behold, I am the LORD,the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me? JEREMIAH 32:27

It’s CONFIDENCE that changes everything. If we choose to grind the beans, we use an electric grinder, a grinder that provides speed and quality of grounds best suited to our desires. With ease, we lift or twist the handles of the kitchen faucet to obtain water. We don’t have to walk to the nearby spring or well to fetch buckets of water and carry them home. We don’t have to chop wood or build a fire in order to heat that water. We simply pour the ingredients, press the start button, and the machine brews that perfect cup of coffee. Jesus said in Matthew 11 to take His yoke, his way of life because in Him, we’ll find rest and ease. We look now at John 15: 11 “These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.” Jesus wants us to see things from His perspective. He already did the “hard” stuff for us. We don’t have to make daily or even yearly sacrifices to get God to be a part of our lives, or to be able to have peace, joy or success in our life… Jesus paid that required, costly, price to bring us back into fellowship with Father God. When things are easy in our life, we do, make, and accomplish those things with confidence. We are bold. We are fearless. Maybe you think that making a cup of coffee can in no way compare to having bills and debts paid in full, or overcoming illness and sickness, or even having a joyfilled, peaceful home – I’m here to tell you – YES, it’s exactly the same because…

In Genesis, God told childless Abraham that he would have a child. Abraham and Sarah were already old and barren. Yet God reminded Abraham that it wasn’t only in the promise that Abraham would be confident but more so in WHO had promised. Romans 4:7-8 tells us that Abraham was FULLY PERSUADED, and in Hebrews 11:11, Sarah judged (proved) HIM FAITHFUL WHO PROMISED. Abraham and Sarah did have a son just as God said AND “Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.” Hebrews 11:12 This testimony builds our confidence, strengthening the assurance that the promise, the Word of God will come about in our life and what we need today. The confidence is in WHO said I Kings 17 is a paramount account of confidence. It is the true story of a real person who had a real relationship with God Almighty and was bold enough to show God’s ability and promise to the whole world. We commonly know the account as David and the Giant. Even people who aren’t born again, know this story of courage and confidence. Let us not minimize or diminish the confidence that David had, not in himself and his great exploits, but rather in the God of Israel who had cut covenant with His people and would hold up His end of the covenant. Here was an army of strong, trained soldiers who allowed the situation to overcome them. Along comes this youngster, David, who knows personally the God of all creation, and he sees this great army cowering in fear. David remembers all the times that God delivered David from danger, and knows that God is faithful to deliver again.

Look what Jesus, Himself told us in JOHN 14:10-12

It’s WHO You Know It was not David’s military training, nor his years of experience that he drew upon for courage, strength, and confidence to conquer this belligerent enemy, but it was WHOM David knew that was the source of his confidence and boldness to defeat Goliath. “Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD'S, and he will give you into our hands. And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came and drew nigh to meet David, that David hasted, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth.” I SAMUEL 17: 45-49

“Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. “ What now? Now here is a written truth in the Word of God, now do we take this and apply it to our situation?

 What did God say in His Word? Find a scripture that covers what we need.  BELIEVE God! He is not a man that He should lie NUMBERS 23:19 His word is true and everlasting JOHN 17:17 God is faithful to perform his word JEREMIAH 1:12 

Do not doubt or waver in what you know about God and what He has said to you. JAMES 1:6-7

God is ALWAYS faithful to His Word! God’s Word accomplishes what it was sent forth to do. It is up to us to BELIEVE HIM.

Wow! Now that’s confidence!! But really, is that kind of confidence applicable to any situation? Or is this just another great inspiring story that gives us with some warm, fuzzy feelings and we continue to live in lack, discouragement, and defeat in our own real life situations? Let’s settle that. John 14, Jesus tells us that the works that he did were not of his own effort, but rather the God the Father is the one who does the works. So, it is true in our life and how we are able to have confidence in EVERY area of our life. “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in us than he that is in the world.” I JOHN 4:4

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. “ HEBREWS 11:6

Yes You Can! These encouraging words are heard from a mama, cheerleader, coach, and the LORD God Almighty. Yes, it’s true. The LORD stands by your side each day as your biggest and most enthusiastic cheerleader. The problem is that we’re not paying attention. We allow the obstacle to be bigger. In Genesis 1:27 the LORD gave an important directive to man – dominion, also known as authority. As we read further in Genesis, we discover that Adam handed over that dominion to Satan when Adam chose to doubt God and then disobey Him. But have no fear, God had a plan: a plan to restore back to man what was deceitfully stolen from him. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever should believe on Him would not perish but have everlasting life. Jesus gave his life for you to be restored back to God AND all that God has given to also be restored to you. Now why am I talking about salvation and Jesus paying the price of redemption in relationship to whether you can do something or not? Because I want to show you that THAT IS WHY! Because of Jesus! I can do each task in my day. Because of Jesus, I can have a blessed ticket through those pearly gates; but I can also have blessing, fulfillment, and accomplishments, in my days now. When we see our life through the finished work of Jesus, getting stuff done each day, takes on a different flavor. The flavor of life!

PRACTICAL APPLICATION: what now?

For years I struggled with the proper place of women: in the work place, at home, at church. Where do we as women apply the skills, gifts, and talents we’ve been given? As a young girl, I grew up knowing that I wanted to be a great mama and a loving wife; but the how I was going to get there, and what it took to get there were not in my young thoughts – at all. In church, I watched as traditions become prevalent and groups formed based on what was considered the godliest position for a woman. Two camps had formed: homemaker.

the career women and the

These well intentioned traditions backed with certain Bible verses were imposed on women as rules rather than GRACES. In the beginning of my adult life, I worked hard to be excellent as a homemaker and put aside other dreams or talents. My efforts were based primarily upon religious customs and too many times resulted in flops of discouragement. My choices and efforts began to work in me an attitude of self righteousness. I believed that I was living a godly life. I was more focused on accomplishing the tasks and being the best homemaker than I was on SEEKING FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD. As the camera focuses on a primary subject, revealing the details: the beauty or the imperfection. So to, the Word of God reveals things about ourselves: the good and the ugly. Even though I was glad to be a homemaker and loved my life there was still an element of dissatisfaction. I yearned to be satisfied – to be fulfilled. So, I changed my schedule to be more productive, I learned new nutritious recipes, and made a decision to study the Word of God with the purpose of finding HELP. THANK GOD for Mr. Eastman and the modern day developers of the home camera and now the age of digital photography. Photography has allowed us to capture the moment: both in things that bring a smile to our face and in things that amaze us. It's about noticing things around us that we don't notice. It's about creating connections. It's about showing the joys and the sadness of life. It causes us an appreciation of beauty, a sense of hope, the humor and playfulness associated with being alive and being grateful. In the same way that we can use the tool of photography to open our eyes to what God has put before us, we as women have the wonderful tool of domesticity to use and bring delight to those around us. Domesticity? Seriously? Let me explain.

HELP! Was my constant call to the LORD! I discovered that the best of these three things I changed in my day was to begin each morning with my Bible. I devoted the first ½ hour to hour of my day to the LORD. I read through the Bible, did exhaustive word studies, or bathed in Psalms. I quickly learned that I was less effective, efficient, and incomplete if I did not daily spend time with my LORD and Savior Jesus Christ. I was stronger when I spent time in the Bible. I was happier. And this began to show to others. Countless times, I was asked “how do you do it?”(Have six children in seven years, homeschool, run a home business, etc) and was able to answer “BY THE GRACE OF GOD”. In myself, I fail. By GRACE! It was God’s grace not because I was good at following the rules -- religious, Christian traditions. Because I read and believed the Word of God, I found the strength to accomplish home duties. I continued to talk to the LORD about the desires of my heart. I had feelings of guilt and condemnation whenever I wanted to do things that were not “homey”.

I really struggled with what was the most godly thing to do. I wanted to live a life pleasing to the LORD, yet there was a part of me that seemed rebellious to the traditions and the pervasive attitudes that were around me. I didn’t like that I was forced to choose a camp, and not mingle with the other camp. When I was around homemaker women, I talked homemaker things; hiding that I didn’t mind having time away from the house, and did actually enjoy working. When I was around women who were in the work place, I avoided talking about family and domestic issues; feeling less than professional because I delighted in making Lego houses with our boys and making dinners from scratch. Then one day, the LORD showed me the answer to my question about women and especially about me. He showed me that being a stay-at-home, homeschooling, yard-sailing mom was great OR being a career, go to the gym, have lunch with the girls gal was also great. It wasn’t about the difference in our life’s job but rather the heart attitude. See, what happened to women was that society and church taught and continues to teach us that we have to choose one or the other and then build prideful walls and self righteous opinions that cause division, strife, envy, and every evil thing. The “my way is better than your way” attitude does not fulfill the greatest commandment found in Matthew 22:37-40 “Love the LORD your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets..” Romans 12:3 “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. There is a world of difference between domesticity and domestication. And I believe that too often the emphasis is on domestication. Too often women comply or rebel based on the traditions of men rather than on what God has called them to be. The weight of womanhood is on the rules, the do’s and don’ts, the legalism of religion rather than on the grace and mercy that Jesus bought and paid for us. GRACE and the LAW: Grace brings joy. The law brings bondage. It is that bondage that women fight and joy they want to embrace. The bottom line is not which camp you are in: the camp of the work place or the camp of homemakers; but rather what did God tell YOU to do? Jesus fulfilled the law. Jesus came in grace and truth. And our actions whether in fulfilling a dream career, or having a house full of children does not cause the LORD to think more highly or less of us. It is to find out where we are called to be. The kingdom of God is the heart of the matter. For where our treasure is there will our heart be also. MATTHEW 6:21 We should be imitators of Jesus. And have the same graceful attitude toward other women.

This lesson was so freeing to me. I repented of my self righteousness; I repented of thinking too highly of myself. I refuse receiving or giving condemnation. Because God first loved me…while I was yet without strength, Jesus loved me to the point of giving His life for mine. Domesticity is to the woman as GRACE is to the Christian. Domesticity is about the pleasures and joys of life. Domesticity can be gained by all women. Domesticity is a tool to showcase the beauty of what is around us. Domesticity is the part of womenhood that takes a house and makes it a love filled home. The part of womanhood that demonstrates the love of God to all those we have contact with, whether at home, in the workplace, or elsewhere. To be a woman is awesome. To be a woman who knows what God has said to and about her is liberating! If you are a wife-you are called to be the best wife! If you are a mamayou are called to be the best mama. How those callings unfold for your family is found in the Word of God. The same is true if you are career woman. It is the Holy Spirit that opens the eyes of our understanding as we read the Word with the intent and expectation of FINDING answers. EPHESIANS 1

Psalm 37:4 “Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. “ God knows us better than we know ourselves. He said put me and my way of doing things above your own ways and traditions and I WILL give you the desires of your heart. When we yield to God’s plan, all of our life will be complete, joyfilled, and abundant. MATTHEW 6

Do you have a desire to know and fulfill the will of God for your life, but you are not sure you have what it takes? It may sound like a dream, but it is possible with the help of the Holy Spirit. God has made a way for us to live successful, holy lives-- If we will learn to walk in the spirit. Romans 8:26 tells us how to overcome the weakness of the flesh and walk in the spirit, even while we live in this body. This revelation has changed my life and the lives of countless others. So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance (Romans 8:26, The Amplified Bible). The King James Version translates the word weakness as "infirmities," but the Greek word is singular and should have been translated "weakness." Romans 6-8 talks about the weakness of the flesh and the strength of the spirit. It is talking about overcoming the weakness of the flesh. One way the Holy Spirit bears us up in our weakness is by enabling us to pray in the spirit–in other tongues. Praying in the spirit causes your spirit to dominate your flesh. Praying in the spirit applies spirit to flesh. When you pray in the spirit, you pray the perfect will of God. Your prayer knows no limitation. It is God the Holy Spirit speaking through your spirit to God the Father in the Name of God the Son. That is the prayer that cannot be overthrown.

God does not expect you to overcome the weakness of the flesh, even by your new, born-again spirit. He gave you His Spirit to help you and strengthen you.

The Holy Spirit–Our Strength The Holy Spirit is our Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener and Standby (John 14:16, The Amplified Bible). His ministry is to bear us up, to help us, to strengthen us. God knew that man was weak through his flesh. He said: A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them (Ezekiel 36:26-27). God does not expect you to overcome the weakness of the flesh, even by your new, born-again spirit. He gave you His Spirit to help you and strengthen you. Ephesians 3:16 says we are "strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man." The Holy Spirit will strengthen you with might in your inner man to overcome the weakness of living in a natural body. "But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you" (Romans 8:11). The Holy Spirit does not do the work by Himself. He comes to our aid. He is our Helper. When we pray in other tongues, the Spirit of God bears us up in the weakness of our flesh–the part of us that is earthy and natural–and brings us God's answer to the situation or problem. Through the operation of the Holy Spirit within us, we are no longer held in bondage to the natural world. So what is our part? Our part is to give Him place by hearing and obeying His word, and then yield the control of our lives to Him as we walk in His ways instead of man's ways. This allows the supernatural power of God to flow in our behalf to bring to pass the will of God. When we give place to the Holy Spirit and obey Him, we are allowing God to be God in our lives. The Bible says, "He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself" (I Corinthians 14:4). The phrase edifieth himself means "builds up himself." Jude tells us that we are to build ourselves up on our most holy faith by praying in the Holy Ghost. Whatever weakness of the flesh you have, praying in the spirit–in other tongues–will help you overcome that weakness and give you victory. If you will spend time praying in the spirit every day, you will find that earth's bondages can no longer restrain you. The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus makes you free from the law of sin and death. The Holy Spirit Himself is enforcing your deliverance. I Corinthians 14:14 says, "For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful." We are not praying according to our understanding, or our limited knowledge, but according to the unlimited wisdom and knowledge of God.

The Holy Spirit Knows We have to learn to walk in the spirit, and we learn to do it one step at a time, just like we learned to walk in the natural. When we spend time praying in the spirit, we give the Holy Spirit an opportunity to pray the perfect will of God for our lives. We may not know what the perfect will of God is, so we can't pray effectively with our understanding. But the Holy Spirit knows exactly what to pray in order to get God's will done in our lives. "And in like manner also the Spirit lends us a helping hand with reference to our weakness, for the particular thing that we should pray for according to what is necessary in the nature of the case, we do not know with an absolute knowledge" (Romans 8:26, Wuest). The Holy Spirit gives us utterance that is founded on absolute knowledge. He goes right to the root of the problem. "And He Who searches the hearts of men knows what is in the mind of the [Holy] Spirit [what His intent is], because the Spirit intercedes and pleads [before God] in behalf of the saints according to and in harmony with God's will" (Romans 8:27, The Amplified Bible). What a blessing this is if we will pay attention to the promptings of the Spirit. With our limited understanding of spiritual things, often we only know the result of something wrong in our lives. For example, you might be asking God to heal your body. You think sickness is the problem, when sometimes it is a result of something more serious. According to this verse, the Holy Spirit is prompting you in your spirit with the answer. He may be saying, You should forgive your sister-in-law. But you pay no attention to that prompting because the sickness in your body is so important, and your sister-in-law is far down on your list of priorities. The Holy Spirit is going to the root. He is endeavoring to stop the problem at the source.

God does not expect you to overcome the weakness of the flesh, even by your new, bornagain spirit. He gave you His Spirit to help you and strengthen you.

He will continue to lead you to forgive. If you determine to walk in the spirit, and you spend time praying in the spirit and seeking God's will for your life, then you will pay attention to that leading. You will obey, not even realizing that your healing is contingent on your obedience. If you go after God and His will, you will learn to make adjustments quickly and cause your will to agree with His. Every day, as you have been believing God for the healing of your body, you have also been praying in the Holy Spirit, giving Him place and control in your life. While you have been asking for healing, which is merely a side issue, He has been praying the perfect will of God through you in this matter–that you walk in love with your sister-in-law! Walking out of love is what opened the door to sickness. With your cooperation, He overcomes your weakness. You hear His voice and obey. You forgive. You are back in agreement with God. Sickness loses its foothold. You have victory, and the Holy Spirit has you!

Let Your Spirit Speak by the Holy Spirit I Corinthians 2:7 says, "But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory." And I Corinthians 14:2 says, "For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries." A mystery is something we cannot know with our intellect. It is beyond our knowledge. Mysteries are in the realm described in Ephesians 3:20–beyond what we can ask or think. The Bible says, "We know in part, and we prophesy in part" (I Corinthians 13:9). But if you are praying in the spirit, you are not praying "in part." When you pray in the spirit, the Holy Spirit brings the mysteries of the Father into the earth. Praying in the spirit causes the Father's perfect will to overwhelm the course of this earth. It is critical that we pray and intercede in the spirit, because God wants to do some things in the earth that we have never even thought of, much less asked for. The Spirit of God moves in the natural realm when people ask Him. In Exodus 3:7-8 God said, "I.have heard their cry.and I am come down to deliver them." God knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations (II Peter 2:9). He has the way for the Church of Jesus Christ to rise up as the glorious Church without spot or wrinkle. God reveals His plan to us as we pray in the spirit. There are some things that we don't know about His plan, and there are some things we do know about it (Ephesians 1-2). But when it comes to fulfilling His plan on a day-by-day basis, many times we lack knowledge of the details.

So the Father sent the Holy Spirit to lead you into all truth and show you things to come. There is only one way you can accomplish the will of God in your life–by obeying His Spirit one day at a time. The Holy Spirit reveals the wisdom of God to you–it is the "hidden wisdom" which God ordained before the foundation of the world (I Corinthians 2:7). The Church's hearing and obeying the wisdom of God will remove the spots and wrinkles, so that this glorious Church will be holy and without blemish.

Pray God's Will Since you can only do the will of God one day at a time, you need to find out every day what His will is. When we pray in tongues, "we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery." In the spirit we are decreeing the plan of God, which we may not understand or even know in our natural minds. But we know that when we pray in the spirit, we pray the perfect will of God. If we all would start praying the will of God, He would be able to get His will done in the earth. Isn't that what Jesus told the disciples to pray? "Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." His will must be prayed. In the spirit, He can use our mouths and our authority, even if we do not mentally know what we are saying. When we pray in the spirit, we give Him place to manifest His glory and fulfill His plan. When we pray in the spirit, we speak forth the mysteries of God–His hidden plans to repossess this earth. As we pray His will in the spirit, the Holy Spirit begins to reveal to our minds what God is doing and how we individually fit into that plan. Supernatural understanding comes to our minds. The Bible says if you pray in an unknown tongue, you may pray for the interpretation (I Corinthians 14:14-15). Many times we pray in tongues and then pray the interpretation in English without realizing we are praying both in tongues and in English out of our spirit. The same Holy Spirit Who prays the will of God through you in tongues can pray the will of God through you in English, if you will interpret it. That interpretation will come out of your spirit–not your mind–in the language of the Holy Ghost. As you spend time daily praying in the spirit, it becomes easier for you to hear the direction of the Holy Spirit as He reveals His will to your spirit. "So now we serve not under [obedience to] the old code of written regulations, but [under obedience to the promptings] of the Spirit in newness [of life]" (Romans 7:6, The Amplified Bible). We are no longer bound to obey written regulations. But we are to serve by obeying the promptings of our reborn spirit, which is controlled by the Holy Spirit.

Grow Up! I cannot teach you how to walk in the spirit in seven easy steps. Each of us has to mature spiritually day by day. Simply ask the Holy Spirit to teach you how to follow Him. Give Him control of your life and He will reveal to you the will of God, step by step. He knows how to bring you to maturity. He will not tell you to part the Red Sea the first day you begin to walk as a Christian! You will start where you are. If you are a baby Christian and have not grown spiritually, you will start in kindergarten! (If you do not look just like Jesus, you are not fully grown.) The Holy Spirit will reveal areas in your life that need to be corrected. He will not send you on some world-changing errand unless you're ready. But He will lead you to mortify the deeds of your body so you can begin to live in the power of God. Romans 8:13-14 tells us: "If ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God." Children of God grow up to be mature sons and daughters by obeying the Holy Spirit concerning their own lives. Many times we receive direction from the Holy Spirit, telling us to make certain changes in our lives. But too often we are not interested in hearing God deal with us on this level–not realizing that this is where walking in the spirit begins. We want to hear something BIG from the Holy Spirit, like "Go to China." If we do not follow the Holy Spirit in the area of correcting our own life, we would be of little value to God when we got to China! Many times we are like Peter was in the Garden of Gethsemane. He was willing to die for Jesus. He was willing to go to jail! He was ready to do something big and important. But Jesus said, "Watch and pray." No, Lord, that is not what I had in mind. Peter did not follow Jesus' will in something simple. Jesus wanted him to pray so that when temptations came, he would overcome them. Peter did not follow God in praying, and when the pressure came, he did not follow God in action. He suffered a major defeat. But that doesn't have to happen to you. There is no leading from the Holy Spirit that is insignificant. If it is from God, it is priority. Listen to the counsel of the Holy Spirit every moment and obey His promptings. You'll soon discover that wherever you're weak, He's your helping hand. And He's ready to give you the help you need! CHAIM

Hebrews 11 :1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11 shares with us the great heroes of faith, men and women who believed God and saw, and experienced healings, deliverance, and miracles. Revelation 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” Because of Jesus and because of our testimony we overcome the devil. We give God all the glory and encourage and build up each other to stand strong and never give up! CREATES A CONNECTION – By sharing your testimony of what God has done in your life, you create a connection with others who may be going through a similar situation. It helps others feel connected to your life and know like they can have what you have too. GOD IS NOT A RESPECTER OF PERSONS: what He has done for one person, He will do for you. There are times we may struggle with issues or circumstances and to read about others who have taken God at His Word and been victorious gives us further proof and evidence that God is ---- We endeavor to be perfect like Jesus, but even if we fall short, that’s okay because He picks us up and we continue on. It’s in the getting back up that encourages others to do the same…to never give up. When you share your story you’ll touch someone who may have have heard that they, too, can overcome their situation and your story will encourage them. GIVES HOPE — Your testimony gives hope to everyone who reads it. Even if your testimony is not that exciting (to you) it will be encouraging and hopeful to someone who reads it. Even those of you who have known God most of your lives have a story to tell, everyone has a testimony to share. Whether it was a lifelong journey, or a moment in time that tested our faith, you have a story that can be shared with many people to create that connection, promote trust, and give hope to others. We are called to share our story by God, and today we are blessed with ways in which to do this that did not exist in the past. Today, you can stay home, and share from your computer or phone. What could be better than that?
