Alloftheteam’shardworkpreppingandgettingreadyforcamppaid offwithtwosmoothlyruncampsandhighlyeffectivedailyafternoon meetingsthroughoutJune.

Severalofourteammemberswerecounselorsfor thisamazingoneweeksummerprogram,mentoringandcoaching5 gradestudents onVEXrobotics,programmingandstrategy.Theteamserved36 studentsovertwoone-weekcamps,concludingonJuly14th

Tue:Theteamrantheirclawbots throughcompetition,andthenmade minorrebuildstotheirrobotsto improveperformance.

Wed:Theteamstestedtheirrebuildsincompetitionandthenmade majorrebuildstotheirbots

Thur: Onemoretest,fewmore tweaksandpracticeforthefinal competiononFriday.

Fri: Finalcompetitionandcleanup. Hopefullywe'llseethesecampers againinafewyearswhenthey'rein HighSchool.

AlecR.,RobertS.,andRobertB.alongwith CoachTommyandMentorMaryBadelt attendedworkshopsonhowtobecomean effectiveadvocateforSTEMprogram funding. Theconferencereachedcapacity, with280studentsattendingworkshopson SundayandMonday. Tuesdaytheteammet withU.S.RepresentativeBradShermanand SenatorDianeFeinsteinattheCapitol. Tuesdaynighttheteamattendeda CongressionalReceptionattheCapitol.

Thegentleman fromCalifornia hasthefloor,and testifiesbefore thesenate sub-committee oninspirational teenagersummer activities.
