Mission Statement

Music is a means of expanding one’s knowledge, developing discipline, and forming achievable life goals. As a community based on Marianist values, the Chaminade Choral Music Program is committed to providing a thorough music education. Integrating all types of musical genres and techniques allows us to master the universal language of music with the aid of fellow musicians and singers. Music brings us together through camaraderie and a sense of family which makes the program successful. This places aspiring singers and musicians in an enriching environment where they can grow not only as singers but as people of character and strong leadership skills.

The Chaminade Choral Music Program helps develop and nurture individuals to reach the highest level of personal integrity. It is through dedication, determination, and leadership, provided through the love of music, that every musician of the program can apply what they have learned into their lives, with the aim to become leaders and benefactors of our future.

Plato

-
Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything!

A non-auditioned middle school choir open to all sixth, seventh and eighth grade students. Students are given opportunities to express their individual musical talents, and develop life skills that result in confident and expressive singing. Students learn proper vocal reading technique, strengthen sight reading skills, and perform a wide variety of song repertoire while experiencing the joy of choral singing.

Over the years, the C-Notes have performed at Chaminade University (Hawaii); Heritage Choral Festival (Anaheim & San Diego, CA), Music in the Parks Choral Festival (Placentia & Valencia, CA) and other events such as the America Sings Festival (Washington DC).

Each year, the C-Notes take a Vocal Soundtrack Recording workshop at Disneyland in Anaheim and/or participate in an adjudicated choral festival where they have consistently earned a “gold” ranking in the middle school concert choir division.

The Chaminade C-Notes have had the distinct honor of performing on the Carnegie Hall stage in 2011,2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019 and were selected by audition to be the “feature choir” in the National Youth Festival at Carnegie Hall in 2011, 2013, and 2015.

The C-Notes are busy preparing for an adjudicated choral festival at Queens College and for another memorable performance at Carnegie Hall. They are thrilled to travel to New York city in March 2023 to participate in Choirs of America Nationals for Top Choirs.
