CREATIVE TEAM

END NOTES Dear Summer Musical Theatre Patrons, “Let’s put on a little summer musical… SHREK, THE MUSICAL!” said the director, “it’ll be fun.” Whew! And yes, it has been fun and challenging! In thirteen days this cast has played theatre games, learning to trust their instincts, focus, learned lyrics & music, harmonies & choreography, lines & staging, built characters, learned how to listen, how to work in a theatre, tell a story, do quick changes, and all the while become a unique kind of supportive family--- in a full-blown musical! An impressive feat. Our “little” summer musical is quite the beast (“ROAR! This is the part where you run…” to quote, our friend, Shrek) and with that comes the need for our new Chaminade Player leaders to step into their new roles as stage managers, carpenters, scenic artists, sound crew and electrics heads, props heads, hair/ makeup and wardrobe crew heads, student producers and box office heads. Our Players alumni and gifted volunteers blessed us by helping out where and when they were needed and we are beyond thankful for each and every one. The Summer Musical Theatre Intensive is always a time for growth and once again, the magic has taken place! These young artists have banded together in this whirlwind experience and allowed themselves to step up to the challenge, building a memory that will last a lifetime.
