Summer

starts here! The summer holidays are one of the best times of the year for children … but one of the most challenging for parents. Keeping children entertained, without breaking the bank, is not easy … and that’s why we have created 123GO! to be your guide to local events and locations which are available throughout the summer months, many of which are free! With such busy lives these days it can sometimes be difficult to find the time to sit down and do something as a family. That is why we have included many activities which are for everyone – children, parents and grandparents alike. Keep your copy of 123GO! handy as a reference guide to all of the great activities and fun things to do our region has to offer. Let’s all enjoy the summer together.

Schoolchildren to benefit from free vision screening New online vision screening software is now available free of charge to all local Southport, Formby and Ormskirk schools, following a study revealing that millions of children have never had an eye test. Funded by Specsavers for their Screening for Schools campaign, the software is designed to be operated by teachers and other school staff or volunteers and is being made available for Ormskirk, Formby and Southport school children to benefit from. The threeminute screening test, developed by optometrists and vision scientists at City University London, can detect the most common eye problems that affect children. As well as long and short sight, these include astigmatism, lazy eye and squints. Following a sight test, a report will automatically be generated to help parents or guardians make a more informed decision about their child’s eyes. Despite national recommendations by the NHS that all four-year-olds should receive a sight check, research by the College of Optometrists found that less than a third of local authorities in England are providing vision screening for children. Specsavers’ own research by OnePoll last November revealed that nearly four million UK children have never had their sight tested at school. The research also revealed almost a third of North West parents surveyed whose children aged 3-16 had never had an eye test (31.2%), admitted this was because they ‘had never thought about it’. Of those parents whose children wear specs,

20

46.21% felt that having glasses had improved their child’s academic results. Furthermore, 53.79% said they saw a positive difference in their child’s enthusiasm, engagement and progression at school after they started wearing their glasses. Stuart Roberts, director of Specsavers in Southport and Formby, says: ‘A child’s eyesight will continue to develop up to the age of eight years old and a number of conditions can be corrected by an optician if detected before this time. ‘However, there is still a lack of general awareness among some parents and teachers about the importance of regular eye tests from the age of three or four. There have been cases where children have been misdiagnosed with dyslexia, ADHD or learning difficulties when in fact the child simply needs glasses.’ Star of C4’s Jamie’s Dream School, Head teacher John d’Abro, said: ‘While it is difficult to show a direct link between vision and social and educational development, few would argue that these children with sight problems are not disadvantaged to some extent.” In 2014, Specsavers commissioned a survey of 1,500 UK parents with children aged between three and 16, which showed that more than 50% of parents saw an improvement in the performance of their child’s social skills after being fitted with glasses, while 26% saw an improvement in their child academically. How does your g You don’t need to be contrary like Mary to enjoy your garden growing! Many keen gardeners will admit that they started very young (generally with a grandparent) and with summer upon us, what better way to keep everyone busy outside and healthy than gardening.

MOTIVATION If you are lucky to have a garden, why not dedicate a little corner to the kids. That way they can tend to a project on a smallish scale and enjoy success. Grow something that you can eat. Most children will eat anything they have grown and what a perfect introduction to healthy living! Grow fast growing flowers and plants. Go to your nearest garden centre and ask questions. Try to grow from seeds if you can. The sense of achievement will be even bigger!

RAINY DAYS The perfect time to plan more. If the kids love gardening then this is the time to do a bit more research, think about what they want to do next, whether they are ready to do more, etc. A visit to a garden centre can also be beneficial to expand knowledge and ask questions to experts on hand. Look for a local garden centre where kids are welcome. You can also create a garden scrapbook, decorate plant pots and make a bird feeder.

TIPS FOR SUCCESS GROW SUNFLOWERS Plant the seeds and watch them grow grow grow! Better grown against a wall or make sure you have supporting canes for best results. GROW FLOWERS THAT BUTTERFLIES LOVE Goldenrod, New English Aster and Joe-Pye weed are all good contenders amongst many other varieties. Ask your local garden centre for advice. GROW TOMATOES Even if the kids don’t like them they will be amazed at growing them, tasting them and loving them. A tomato is a fruit after all, choose a sweet variety and if you do get a bumper crop make a simple pasta sauce with them that everyone will love to eat. HELP AT WATERING TIME Buy a small watering can for the toddlers and they will help water their plants when you do yours.

SUNNY DAYS Start with the basics and discover how you can enrich the soil you are about to use, teaching as you go along why that is important. It is also a marvellous opportunity to learn how to make your own compost and for a bit of fun, why not organise a garden treasure hunt.

ur garden grow? MAKE YOUR OWN COMPOST You need: • Compost bin with lid • Plant waste • Kitchen waste • Soil • Used animal or pet bedding WHAT TO DO: Help the kids place the bin on an earth base (not concrete) that they can easily access Fill the bin with harden waste, old plants that you have pulled out, content of hamster or gerbil cage after a clean, old peelings from the kitchen and eggshells. SPRINKLE SOIL ON TOP Cover the bin with an old bit of carpet or doormat to keep the heat in and leave well alone until you have more waste to add to the bin. After three or four months, remove the cover and help your little one to dig the compost over. Leave it to rot further. When the bottom of the compost is brown and crumbly it’s ready. Use it on the garden! www.bbc.co.uk

How does your garden grow? GROW YOUR INITIAL ON THE LAWN

MAKE A BIRD FEEDER

This only takes 20 minutes to set up and a week of waiting. A perfect summer project.

This will take just 20 to 30 minutes (and will have to cool) …

You need: • an old cereal box • a pair of scissors • a few pebbles or skewers WHAT TO DO: Ask the children to draw the first letter of their name on the plain side of a cereal box. Get them to cut it out in bubble writing so it’s nice and fat. Get them to put it on the grass in their garden. They should try to find a patch of grass which is in the sun most of the day. They need to hold it down with pebbles or by pushing some skewers through it, then leave it for a week. When they remove the cardboard, they should find that the grass has gone yellow in the shape of their letter. The children could try it again with some shapes, such as a crescent moon or a triangle. PLEASE NOTE: After a few days of the sunlight getting back to the grass, the yellowing will disappear … so do not worry! www.bbc.co.uk

30

You need: • An equal quantity of shredded suet (from any supermarket) and wild bird seed mix (from a pet shop). The amount depends on the size you would like the feeder to be (100g, or 3.5oz is a good amount to start with) • Any extra of the following: fresh peanuts (hulled from monkey nuts, not toasted, roasted or salted), sunflower seeds, stale cake crumbs, cheese crumbs, seeds from dock, thistle, stinging nettle, knapweed, teasel or ragwort collected from the wilder parts of your garden • A small tin (washed and dried) or a coconut shell • Saucepan • Wooden spoon WHAT TO DO: Get your children to weigh out an amount of suet and put it in a saucepan. Help them to melt it over a gentle heat. Next they must weigh out an equal quantity of seed, adding in any extra ingredients they wish to include. When the fat is liquid, turn off the heat. Help them to remove the pan from the cooker, and then stir in the seeds and other ingredients you have chosen. The mixture should look quite sticky as this is what holds the mixture together once it has cooled. Leave it to cool slightly. Tip it into the tin or the coconut shell. Leave to cool and set completely. When it is set, string up the tin or shell, and wedge it into the branch of a tree in the garden. Place it somewhere children can see from inside your house. Now everyone can keep an eye on the bird feeder and see what comes to eat the delicious seed cake. Remind them to make another cake when the first one is getting low. www.bbc.co.uk

I am so

This is the cry that every parent dreads, yet most will no doubt hear at some point this summer. When there is nothing on TV and even they have had enough of sitting in front of their computer games, what activities are there that won't cost the earth and will make everyone happy this summer. Here’s a few suggestions to help fill the void.

PHOTO CHASE

bored! bored! bored!

This is a really good fun thing to do and is particularly enjoyable with more than one child. They are all going to become photo hunters! Start by making a list of shapes and put them into charts containing hearts, circles, triangles, letters, crescents and so on. Give a copy to each ‘hunter’. Then have everyone with a camera go out and find the shapes in surprising places, taking a photo of what they find. Old mobile phones are ideal for this. They may find an oval stone, a triangle of blue sky between two buildings, square cookies in a jar or even a heart-shaped cloud. Each time they ‘snap’ a shape they can tick it off the chart. When they have finished their quest they can all share their results with each other. Maybe you’ll provide a prize. Later, why not make a little slideshow as a memory of a very special day out.

I am so bored! MIRROR, MIRROR

DRESS UP DAY

This simple trick can be fun for hours and give parents a bit of a break. Particularly fun in pairs! Use a hand held mirror, face it to the ceiling and hold it just below the eyes so all you can see in the mirror is the ceiling. Start walking slowly and the optical illusion of seeing the ceiling where the floor should be will bring out fits of giggles and every room will get a thorough inspection. Make sure that excitement does not result in the children running into furniture or falling down stairs!

Mum, get some of your old clothes that you don’t mind being ‘manhandled’ and put them in a big box. If you have some accessories (scarves, ties etc) organise a competition to find who can look the craziest, the smartest or the most stylish. You could also ask the children to dress you in the weirdest way they can think of and if, you don’t mind, afterwards they could take a photo and put it on Facebook! Lots of fun to be had! This is a really great activity outside if it is a sunny day.

DAY DIARY Give the children a blank book and a box of crayons, glue and safety scissors. The aim is to record either a day, or a room contents or what’s in the garden. They can collect small items like twigs, bottle caps, flowers and glue them into the book with an observation of what the item represents. Make sure you have a small prize for the best entries (plus a prize for everyone taking part, of course).

HOME MADE PLAYDOUGH This is ideal for those who like to make a mess that miraculously becomes a long lasting play dough that can be played with for hours! It lasts longer than shop bought and smells better too. And you can store it in a kilner jar or an airtight box. Here’s what you will need: • 500g flour • 410g salt • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil • 250ml hot water Mix the flour and salt in a large sturdy bowl. In a separate bowl, add approx 125g of the flour and salt and mix with approx 60ml of the water. Add food colouring if you want with one and a half teaspoon of oil. Now mix well. Knead for a few seconds on a floured surface. If too dry add a little water, if too wet add some flour. Repeat three more times with different colours. You can also add some scents such as lemon oil or vanilla essence to each mix. You can also add herbs, glitter or sand for texture and feel.

A right old bake off Cooking with kids is often fun but never more than when it involves baking cakes or making sweet stuff. However, and as always, results have to work out first time to avoid disappointment and being discouraged. These five recipes are a hoot to make and results are guaranteed!

Princess Cupcakes 5+ Just bake the fairy cakes and when cool, turn them upside down. Google your child’s preferred princesses and print on card. Cut out and secure with a cocktail stick on each cake. Decorate the cupcake so it resembles a gown. The recipe is a classic 'pound cake' recipe and weights depend on egg weight (see below). You need: Basic cupcake mixture • eggs • butter, softened • caster sugar • self raising flour Flavour options For vanilla: • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract per egg For chocolate: • 1 tsp cocoa powder mixed with 1/2 teaspoon hot water per egg For coffee: • 1 tsp instant coffee granules mixed with a couple of drips of hot water per egg Vanilla buttercream • 100g butter, softened • 300g icing sugar • 1 dash milk • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

NOW BAKE! Heat oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Line a tin with silicone or paper cupcake cases. First, help your child weigh your ingredients according to the weight of your eggs. Weigh your eggs in their shells, and then measure out the same weight of butter, sugar and flour. Two eggs make approximately 12 cupcakes, but you can increase or decrease the quantity as desired.

Make sure the butter is softened. Whisk the softened butter with the sugar until creamy, be sure to use a biggish bowl if little hands are helping as you don’t want mix everywhere! Add one egg and an equal weight of sifted flour and mix. Repeat this step until you are on your last egg. Next, add any flavouring you would like vanilla, chocolate, coffee, etc. Mix well and try to get as much air into the mix as possible. Spoon mixture into cases so they are 2/3 full. Place in the pre-heated oven and bake for 10/12 minutes. Check they are cooked by inserting a knife into the centre of the cake, if it comes out clean they're good to eat! When they are cool enough to handle, slice a little off the top so that they stand upside down without too much wobble, then take off the cases and leave to cool completely.

TO DECORATE For the icing, use a ratio of 1 part butter to 3 parts icing sugar with a teaspoon of flavouring and just a dash of milk at the end to get the right consistency. The quantities listed above are for 12 cupcakes with a 'healthy' amount of icing. Simply combine and beat well until the icing is smooth. Place the icing in an icing bag to make swirls around the top of each cupcake. Google images of your chosen character, print on card and cut them out. Stick them to cocktail sticks and place them into the top of the icing. www.allrecipes.co.uk

Sticky upside-down banana cake

Instant Chocolate Mousse

8+

8+

Delicious and quite easy to make, using every day ingredients. An adult is definitely needed for the caramel part! Otherwise simplicity itself.

Who wants to wait for hours for a mousse to set when it can be done so easily as this Nigella Lawson recipe proves. An added bonus is that you won't use raw eggs either making it a perfect option. Serve with nice juicy strawberries for added freshness.

You need Cake Batter • 240g Plain flour • 2.5 tsp baking powder • 1 tsp cinammon • ½ tsp ground ginger • 300g golden caster sugar • 120g VERY SOFT unsalted butter • 3 large eggs • 150ml soured cream Topping • 80g unsalted butter (plus extra for greasing) • 150g light muscovado sugar • ½ tsp vanilla bean paste • 4 large bananas

NOW BAKE! Heat oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4 and lightly grease a deep 23cm round cake tin, lining the base with baking parchment. To make the topping, put the butter and sugar in a small saucepan and cook over a medium heat until melted and combined. Add the vanilla carefully and mix together. Pour the caramel very carefully into the cake tin and spread in an even layer. Cut the bananas in half lengthways and arrange on top of the caramel, cut-side down. To make the batter, put all the ingredients in a large bowl with 1/4 tsp salt. Use an electric mixer to beat together on a low speed until the batter is smooth and evenly mixed. Pour the batter on top of the bananas and level out with a spatula. Bake in the oven for 50 mins–1 hr or until a skewer inserted in the middle comes out clean. If the cake begins to look too dark, cover with foil after 35 mins. Allow to cool in the tin for 10 mins before turning out onto a plate. Best served warm but also delicious at room temperature.

You need • 150g mini marshmallows • 50g soft butter • 250g good dark chocolate (minimum 70% cocoa solids) chopped into small pieces • 60ml hot water (from a recently boiled kettle) • 284ml double cream • 1 tsp vanilla extract

NOW BAKE! Put the marshmallows, butter, chocolate and water in a heavy-based saucepan. Put the saucepan on the hob, heat, though keep it fairly gentle, to melt the contents, stirring every now and again. Remove from the heat. Meanwhile, whip the cream with the vanilla extract until thick, and then fold into the cooling chocolate mixture until you have a smooth, cohesive mixture. Pour or scrape into 4 glasses or ramekins, about 175ml / ¾ cup each in capacity, or 6 smaller (125ml / ½ cup) ones, and chill until you want to eat. The sooner the better! www.nigella.com

Fruity Ice Cream 5+ Now that the sun is shining (we hope) the time has come to eat more ice cream – as if we needed an excuse! This easy recipe will make the most of soft fruits you can find during the summer months. Easy to make but you need a bit of patience before you eat it. You need • 150g caster sugar • 125ml water • 450g soft fruit (blackcurrants, strawberries or raspberries) • 250ml double cream

NOW BAKE (well FREEZE!) Put the sugar and water into a pan and dissolve the sugar over a low heat Bring to the boil for 3 minutes to make a sugar syrup. Sieve the fruit into a bowl to remove the pips and skin (if you have a food processor, give them a quick blitz first and then sieve them) Mix the syrup into the fruit puree and allow to cool. In a clean bowl, whisk the cream lightly until thickened but not 'solid' - when the fruit mixture has cooled, add the cream and fold in well until smooth. Pour into a freezer-proof container and freeze for around 2-3 hours until the mixture is starting to freeze around the edges Take out of the freezer and empty back into the bowl. Beat well, until smooth again, then put back into the freezer-proof container and return to the freezer until frozen. You will need to take this out of the freezer about 5 minutes before serving, to allow it to soften. www.netmums.com

A right old bake

Easy Apple Muffins 5+ Easy and delicious, you could swap the apple for pretty much any fruit you like (peaches and apricots are good too). A healthier alternative to any cupcakes as there is no icing involved. You need: • 225g self-raising flour • 115g caster sugar • 1/2 tsp cinnamon • 180ml buttermilk • 1 egg • 125ml vegetable oil • 2 Granny Smith apples

NOW BAKE! Measure out all the ingredients and preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C fan). Line a muffin tin with 10 muffin paper cases. In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar and cinnamon. Then combine the buttermilk, egg and vegetable oil in a jug and whisk well. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and gently fold together. Peel and dice the apples into small pieces, then fold them through too. Spoon into muffin cases and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the muffins from the oven and place on a wire cooling rack. www.kidspot.com.au

Summer Movies We take a look at some of the summer blockbuster releases due to hit the big screen over the coming months. GHOSTBUSTERS

released 11 July

Ghostbusters makes its long-awaited return, rebooted with a cast of hilarious new characters. Thirty years after the beloved original franchise took the world by storm, this is a fresh take to the supernatural comedy. This summer, Ghostbusters are here to save the world!

ICE AGE: COLLISON COURSE

released 15 July

Manny, Sid and Diego are back for one final film in this hugely successful franchise. When Scrat’s quest for his acorn leads him to space, he accidentally sets an asteroid on course for Earth. Now, the rest of the herd must set out on a mission to save their planet from annihilation. But, at least as far as Sid is concerned, the impending apocalypse is rather less important than finding a new girlfriend.

THE BFG

released 22 July

Sophie is a young girl who lives in an orphanage. At three in the morning, when she’s the only one left awake, ‘The BFG’ appears at the window. Soon, the Big Friendly Giant whisks her away from everything she’s known, and off onto an adventure. Together, they set out to capture the evil, man-eating giants who have been invading the human world. Roald Dahl’s classic novel finally comes to the big screen under the sure hand of legendary director Steven Spielberg, and stars Oscar winner Mark Rylance as ‘The BFG’.

FINDING DORY

released 29 July

Everyone’s favourite forgetful blue tang is back at last for ‘Finding Dory’, which sees her go off on a new adventure to search for the family she forgot about. Waking up one morning, she sees a picture in her head – and comes to a shocking realisation. She has remembered something! It seems impossible but it’s true, and now she wants answers about her past. Who are her parents? Where did she come from? And how did she learn to speak Whale? Director Andrew Stanton and Ellen DeGeneres return for ‘Finding Dory’: an unforgettable adventure… that she probably won’t remember.

NINE LIVES

Bishop signs White and Royle from Wrexham Andy Bishop unveiled his latest two signings, Ross White and Jonathan Royle, at the Merseyrail Community Stadium recently. Bishop swooped to sign the two highly promising young players from his former club Wrexham. Both White and Royle have come through the highly successful Wrexham scholars academy scheme, graduating to Wrexham’s first team squad. Ross White was twenty in June, having been capped at Wales Under 17 level playing in a UEFA Qualifying campaign in Estonia. White can play at right back or centre half. Midfielder Jonathan Royle is twenty one and has been out on loan gaining experience at Colwyn Bay and Hednesford. He signed as a full time professional at Wrexham in the 2012-13 season. Royle also offers versatility as he played some matches at centre half for Colwyn Bay. Andy Bishop, on signing the duo stated, “I know both Ross and Jonathan well. We have fought off a number of clubs to get them signed for Southport. I believe they both have great potential. They have demonstrated excellent professional attitudes and are exciting signings for us. Both will develop rapidly and I am delighted they have agreed to join us here at the Merseyrail Community Stadium.”

Come on over to my place ... How about sleepovers? These can be really exciting in the summer because if you have a back garden you may even decide to sleep under canvas ... an exciting prospect (check the weather report first though). Sadly sleepovers have this dubious reputation of getting kids very excited and parents on the edge of despair by the time it’s over. So 123GO! Gives you some sure fire tips to have the very best experience ever for adult and child alike. ARE THEY READY FOR SLEEPOVERS? It could be they are under peer pressure at school and talk about it but, deep down, they are a bit scared of this new experience. Generally speaking sleepovers a really are great idea from 7-8 years onwards.

54

Not too many at one time! It may sound great on paper but do you really think six kids is a good idea? Start with ‘besties’ and see how well that works out. A bad first experience may taint the whole future of sleepovers! Information is key. Sleepovers can be tough on the host as much as the parent who drops his or her child off. This may be the first time for all concerned. So let them know what you are planning, what they will be doing/eating/spending time on, tell them the routine you hope to adhere to and ask if their child has any special requirements or allergies. Give them a time for pickup. Make it before 10 am because YOU will need it then! Sugar is okay but in moderation and never ever more than one hour before sleep time. Be aware of your own little tyke and that he/she don’t have ‘reserves’. If they gorge on sweeties and chocolate bars you will never get them to sleep. Nor will you.

123GO! 2016.indd 54

24/06/2016 12:12

Take it easy. If you have made up a whole list of activities, selected a movie to watch, decided the kids would help cook, don’t hold them to that time sheet in your head. Kids do what they want to do. Use the activities if the atmosphere is a little hard to get going. Once they are enjoying themselves, retreat discreetly and bake the pizza yourself. Don’t stray too far and don’t get involved too much in a movie/book/activity. You need to keep an eye on the little angels/monsters and have them close by. Accidents can happen and you don’t want any!

of extra pants and socks and some clothes... one never quite knows! Also there may be a time when you have to arrange a quick exit. Amazing how one can miss home life all of a sudden. When that happens a quick phone call to the parents of your guest will be essential. Have the contact number at the ready! Follow those few rules and sleepovers will be easy (or easier) to manage and repeat. But before you decide on a summer slumber party just make sure you and your child have tried the sleepover option first.

SHUT EYE TIME Okay, so you know you won’t have the little darlings off to the land of nod anytime soon BUT you can still control things. Right at the beginning tell them what time lights will be out (understanding that they will probably fall asleep two hours later) so make it relatively early. An hour before the proposed time, repeat the arrangements and lower the lights a little. Try to get the kids settled into less physical activities (movies are always good). Be prepared for all eventualities. Make sure you have an extra toothbrush available or a pair

Park Life

Outdoor fun is paramount in the summer and our local parks offer plenty to keep the whole family happy. Picnics and fun in the sun beckon … so here are a few ideas for you to get involved with. We really are lucky to live in a region populated with so many great parks and outdoor pursuits. These are just a few and really are the tip of the iceberg. There are numerous parks and

outdoor spaces across both Sefton and West Lancashire, far too many to list here, and with so many available, why not pack a picnic, get out into the fresh air and make this summer a summer of ‘park life’!

SOUTHPORT Botanic Gardens

Hesketh Park

This park may not offer many events but it remains one of the jewels in the crown of the the town. So whether it’s feeding the ducks, a stroll in beautiful surroundings, a game of mini golf or the large play area, there are things that you can do every single day this summer in this picturesque park.

Situated in the beautiful village of Churchtown, Botanic Gardens is the perfect destination for the family to enjoy the outdoors. During the months of June, July and August, brass bands will play in the gardens every Sunday afternoon.

This yearly event draws crowds and combined with everything else on offer within the park, it is a perfect outing for both young and old. More information available on the website.

King's Gardens http://bit.ly/236ZDmA Throughout the summer, you will be able to watch movies and plays for all ages in this unique setting. Street Golf is also taking place and for more information go to the website.

123 . . . GO GET ACTIVE!

When summer comes and the days are brighter and longer, parents worry if the kids sit in front of a computer or a TV for hours on end. The trick is to all get involved and make activities seem more enjoyable than screen contemplation. Here are our five top tips to keep the whole family moving AND happy this summer.

PLAN A DAY OUT A WEEK Need not cost much, have a look at what is around you and pick a park you have never gone to, or a free outdoor event. Organise a picnic and choose a couple of recipes from our cooking suggestions to make the day before. If the car is big enough, grab the bikes as well! Don’t forget the sun creams and make your one day out a week something to really look forward to!

TAKE CLASSES TOGETHER Would it be swimming or your local gym, many places now offer the chance of going together for a bit of exercise. Find out from your local centres what is on offer and make it a habit!

MAKE CHORES FUN Although this may not work with teenagers, younger kids will love to race against you to see who can get a room clean first, or play music while

62

you are folding dry laundry to get kids to sing and dance while putting clothes away. Take the dog out together and encourage jumping, trotting along and general fun when you are out.

PLAN MEALS TOGETHER By planning meals together and making food prep fun, it will also mean you will be eating healthier simply because you are all thinking about it together. A healthier diet will mean a more active family so encourage more foods the kids love that is good for them!

RESTRICT SCREEN TIMES This is important but it is even more crucial to ensure that you have alternatives kids can enjoy. It’s no good restricting and leaving them to do nothing. Apply some of the above to their free time and use some of the suggestions and recipes in this issue of 123GO! to spend the perfect summer together!
