“We are an impossibility in an impossible universe.” Ray Bradbury
How do you organize a universe themed yearbook?
Hey you, planet! This yearbook was created by the students, teachers, and staff for the Chapel community.
The Universe is more than massive. It’s more than colossal. It’s more than what we can imagine. Chapel is just one star particle in this chaos that is undefinable. Despite its relative size, if we zoom in with our telescopes, we can see a galaxy full of diversity. Each planet has different conditions and characteristics and as we orbit and cling on to different things we are simply trying not to implode or collide with an asteroid. Sure, a lot of days have sandstorms, lightning storms, and explosions of stars. However, our galaxy finds a quintessential rhythm that nourishes each and every planet and each and every star. One day these planets will be released from their gravitational pull and venture out into the great and unknown. What happens next is uncertain, but we hope you take this yearbook along to remember each and every memorable rotation made during Chapel`s 69th year.
Anika Kapur, Hannah Park, and Isabel Aboud.

The Moon
Did you know that our moon was not always there? It only came to existence a hundred million years after the planets of the solar system began to form. There are three theories which explain how it happened. The first theory is the giant impact hypothesis, which explains that a Mars-size body collided with Earth, throwing various chunks of Earth’s crust into space. Thus, gravity bound the ejected particles together, creating a moon.
The second theory is the co-formation theory, which explains that gravity caused a material in the solar system to come together at the same time as gravity bound particles together to form the Earth. This means that the Earth and the Moon were created simultaneously, according to this theory.
Preschool I
The third theory is the capture theory, which explains that a rocky body from space formed elsewhere in the solar system and was drawn into orbit around the Earth.
The dark side of the moon is a myth. In reality both sides of the Moon see the same amount of sunlight however only one face of the Moon is ever seen from the Earth. This is because the Moon rotates around its own axis in exactly the same time it takes to orbit the Earth.
Preschool I
The
The Moon has quakes. These are caused by the gravitational pull of the Earth. Astronauts use seismographs on their visits to the Moon, and found that small moonquakes occurred several kilometers beneath the surface, causing ruptures and cracks. Scientists think the Moon has a molten core, just like the Earth.
Our days will get longer! Researchers say that when the moon was formed, about 4.6 billion years ago, it was about 14,000 miles (22,530 kilometers) from Earth. It’s now more than 280,000 miles, or 450,000 kilometers away. Meanwhile, the Earth’s rotation rate is slowing down — our days are getting longer and longer. As the moon gets farther and farther apart from the Earth, and the Earth continues to rotate more slowly, it is predicted that an Earth’s day might be a month long in the future.
Preschool II
Mars
Why is the big red planet named Mars? Mars is named after the Romans God of War. Precisely at first, for the Greeks, it was named Ares (God of War from Greece) but the Romans saw that red color and they chose, like the Greek, a God of war to represent the planet whose name was Mars. It is incredible that Mars was named by Romans because of its colour, and that was a long time ago!
An interesting occurance happened that allowed us to study Mars before sending rovers to this planet. Pieces of Mars fell to Earth! This opened a door for scientists which probably is why we have so much knowledge about Mars’ terrain and not only the terrain but Mars itself. It’s so amazing that a rock from a planet 54.6 million kilometers from Earth landed here and enabled us to study Mars!
Preschool II
Mars is the only other planet besides the Earth that has polar ice caps. The northern cap is called the Planum Boreum, with Planum Australe in the south. Water ice has also been found under the Martian ice caps. In the past, Mars had an ocean filled with more water then the whole Arctic Ocean! Just thinking about it is weird: A planet that today is just a plain brown reddish country with no ocean and trees but in the past at least it had an ocean filled with water! The ocean was known as “Oceanus Borealis”.
A new discovery can change how fast we will one day be able to travel to Mars! In the present, with the fastest NASA spaceship traveling constantly at 58,000 Kilometers per hour, would still take 162 days to reach Mars, and honestly 162 days is a lot of days for something to go wrong. There is a theory that with the use of photon propulsion it would only take 3 days to get to Mars! ONLY 3 DAYS, THAT’S INCREDIBLE! Mars is 54.6 million kilometers from the Earth and achieving that in 3 days it’s humongous.
Preschool II
Mars
You call Mount Everest a big mountain? Well, you haven’t seen Mars’ Olympus Mons yet, the biggest volcano in the solar system! It’s three times the size of Mount Everest, probably it’s all climbers’ dream to climb there. Wait a minute! Is the volcano still active!?!? Olympus Mons could still be active with the potential to erupt!
Different from Earth seasons, and from most planets in the solar system, Mars’ seasons are longer. The seasons are also extreme because its elliptical (oval-shaped) orbital path around the Sun is more elongated than most other planets in the solar system. Having said that, Mars has the largest dust storms in the solar system as well, which can last for months and cover the whole planet! Larger storms typically only happen during summer in Mars’ southern hemisphere.

Satellite
On October 4th 1957, the Soviet Union launched Sputnik 1, which was the world’s first artificial satellite sent into space orbit. The satellite was a 58 cm (23 in) diameter metal sphere and it had four external radio antennas to broadcast radio pulses. The launch of the Sputnik 1 was the beginning of the space race between the Soviet Union and the USA.
There are over 2,500 satellites in orbit around the Earth nowadays. If you put all of the data that our satellites collect in a year on DVDs, it would form a stack nearly 4 times the height of the Empire State Building. That’s 443 meters or 1450 feet (that’s super tall!!)
Kindergarten
Satellite
Satellites travel at around 8,000 meters per second (18,000 miles per hour) and they make a complete orbit around the Earth in about 90 minutes. That means that, in a given day, satellites can travel the entire circumference of the Earth about 14 times.
The idea of satellites was first mentioned in a fictional short story called “The Brick Moon” by Edward Everett Hale. The book is about the construction and launch into orbit of a sphere, 200 feet in diameter, built with bricks. The device was intended to be used as a navigational aid, but it was accidentally launched with people aboard. Want to find out what happened? Read the book!
Kindergarten
Satellite
On February 10th, 2009, two communications satellites, from the US and Russia, collided. Iridium 33 (Satellite from the USA) and Kosmos-2251 (Satellite from Russia). This is the only time two man-made satellites have collided by accident. The collision added more than 2,000 pieces of trackable debris to the inventory of space junk.
Satellites are programmed to avoid meteorites so they don’t get destroyed! Of over 8,000 satellites orbiting the Earth, only one has ever been destroyed by a meteorite. They are also placed into an orbit designed to avoid other satellites.

First Grade
The Sun
Temperatures inside the Sun can reach 15 million degrees Celsius. Energy is generated through nuclear fusion in the Sun’s core – this is when hydrogen converts to helium – and because objects generally expand, the Sun would explode like an enormous bomb if it wasn’t for it’s tremendous gravitational pull.
The Aurora Borealis and Aurora Australis are caused by the interaction of solar winds with the Earth’s atmosphere. Named after the Roman goddess of dawn, Aurora is the Display of unpredictable lights during the night sky. It occurs on the northern hemisphere in Russia, Canada or Alaska or in the southern hemisphere close to the Antarctica. Sometimes it reaches the edge of New Zealand, Chile and Australia. This ghostly light originates at altitudes of 100 km to more than 400 km (60 miles to more than 250 miles). You can occasionally see them when you are in a plane flying in the area. It occurs when the solar waves get stuck in the magnetic field making these color waves.
First Grade
The Sun
The Sun accounts for 99.86% of the mass in the solar system. It has a mass of around 330,000 times that of the Earth. It is three quarters hydrogen and most of its remaining mass is helium. In fact, over one million Earths could fit inside the Sun. If you were to fill a hollow Sun with spherical Earths, somewhere around 960,000 would fit inside. However, if you squashed those Earths to ensure there was no wasted space then you could fit 1,300,000 inside the Sun. The surface area of the Sun is 11,990 times that of the Earth.
One day the Sun will consume the Earth. The Sun will continue to burn for about 130 million years until it burns through all of its hydrogen. During this time, it will expand to such a size that it will engulf Mercury, Venus, and Earth. When it reaches this point, it will have become a red giant star.
First Grade
The Sun
The Sun has a powerful magnetic field. When magnetic energy is released by the Sun during magnetic storms, solar flares occur, which we can see on Earth as sunspots. Sunspots are dark areas on the Sun’s surface caused by magnetic variations. The reason they appear dark is due to their temperature being much lower than surrounding areas.
Eventually, after the Sun becomes a red giant star, it will be about the size of Earth. Once the Sun has completed its red giant phase, it will collapse. It’s huge mass will be retained, but it will have a volume similar to that of Earth. When that happens, it will be known as a white dwarf.
Second grade
The Earth
Depending on where you are on the planet, there is a possibility that you could be spinning through space at 1,000 miles per hour. People on the Equator move the fastest since the Earth spins in it’s middle vertical axis, while someone standing on the poles would be still.
There is an estimation that there are about 6,000 lightning flashes around the planet every minute (that’s shocking!) and about 22,000 man made objects orbiting around planet Earth (satellites and waste). That’s a lot of stuff!
Second Grade

The Earth
Scientists now believe that we weren’t alone in our orbit around the Sun a long time ago. It orbited a planet we call Theia, which was the size of Mars. About 4.533 billion years ago, Theia crashed into our planet; most of Theia was absorbed and became part of our Earth, but a large piece of it blew off and combined with materials from our planet to create the Moon. They believe this because our Moon is uncommonly large for a planet of our size and it has metallic isotopes which are similar to those existent on Earth.
The Earth’s rotation is gradually slowing. This deceleration is happening almost imperceptibly, at approximately 17 milliseconds per hundred years, although the rate at which it occurs is not perfectly uniform. This has the effect of lengthening our days, but it happens so slowly that it could be as much as 140 million years before the length of a day will have increased to 25 hours.
Third Grade
Comets
Comets are produced in two places: the Kuiper Belt and the Oort Cloud, The Kuiper Belt is a disk-shaped region past the orbit of Neptune, extending roughly from 30 to 50 AU from the Sun ( 93 million miles), containing many small icy bodies. Oort clouds are a vast cloud system at the outer reaches of the solar system . It is important to remember that comets aren’t spaceships. They are parts of solar system material that go back to the formation of the Sun and planets.
Comets have two tails: a dust tail, which is easy to see with our eyes and a ion tail, which is easy to see on high definition photographs, such as our phone’s but difficult to see with your eyes ( it doesn’t help if you wear glasses !!). The ion tail can stretch to almost 360 million miles ( Amazing, that is more than 10 laps around the Earth!).
Third Grade
A comet’s nucleus is made up of ice and its size can vary depending on the comet. The comet’s ice is not made up of only frozen water (like the ice that comes out of our refrigerator!!!). It also has super cold ammonia, carbon dioxide, dust, rocks, and other objects from the solar system!
Comets only die when they crash into something big, exploding from being torn apart by the sun’s gravity, or when they lose volatile materials and become really small. They can also melt when in the hotter parts of the solar system, like a snowman melts in the summer.
Fourth Grade
Saturn
Saturn is the second biggest planet in our solar system. The day Saturday is named after Saturn, the Roman god (which would be Cronus in Greek). He was the God of time, agriculture, liberation, wealth, and generation. Saturday is the only day of the week that was named after a planet and a god. Saturn is known as the “Jewel of the solar system” because of its beautiful rings.
Its rings consist of ice, dust, and rock. Some parts of the ring are up to a kilometer across, and less than a kilometer thick. Other planets have rings as well. However, Saturn’s rings are the only ones that can be seen from Earth. All you need is a small telescope. Scientists believe that Saturn’s rings are asteroids attracted by its gravitational force which kept colliding into one another.
Fourth Grade
Compared to the Earth, Saturn rotates around the Sun very gently. A cycle on Saturn is more than 29 Earth years. Saturn rotates on its axis very quickly. A full rotation in Saturn is 10 hours and 14 minutes. It is hard to determine a full rotation because Saturn is a gas planet and there are no reliable places to see a full rotation. Scientists had to use Saturn’s magnetic fields to determine the duration of a whole day.
Saturn has 62 Moons and many have been discovered recently. Saturn’s most famous moon is Titan. It makes up nearly 96 percent of all mass orbiting Saturn. Scientists believe that Titan was formed when 2 moons collided. The debris caused by the collision formed Saturn’s rings. The moon Dione is believed to contain life because under its sheets of solid ice there is liquid water. Where there is water there could be life.

Flying Saucers
In 1878, the term “saucer” first came to use after John Martin claimed seeing a large, circular dark object “about the shape of a saucer” that looked like a balloon flying at a “wonderful speed.”. This report was then published in the Denison Daily News.
There have been many discussions whether flying saucers actually exist. However, after scanning the skies for alien activity over years, UFO enthusiasts came to the conclusion that flying saucers might not even exist. This does not mean that there had been no flying saucer sightings before they came to this conclusion, because there had been many reports but no acceptable evidence to it. Interestingly enough, more than 40,000 Americans have already taken out insurance against being abducted by aliens.
Fifth Grade
The Bermuda Triangle is an area in the Atlantic Ocean within which unusual events occur. One popular explanation (among many) is that there is a secret undersea UFO base in the area and that there is something about the comings and goings of UFOs that is responsible for the destruction/disappearance of Earth’s ships and planes. The Bermuda Triangle is known as one of the most mysterious areas in the Atlantic Ocean, since many unusual events have occurred there.
Sixty-eight percent of all UFO sightings are by men. In fact, the first Flying Saucer was seen by Arnold Kenneth), who was flying near Mount Rainer on June 24, 1947. Suddenly, he was flashed by a bright light. At first he thought it was another plane but the closest plane was too far away. Then again, there were flashing lights. He then went on to describe what he saw by saying that it was flying on a single, horizontal plane but weaving from side to side. He also added that the object did not seem to be piloted. However, the object remained undefined.

Space Rovers
Space rovers are robots that travel around planets and do research on those planets’ surfaces. They send pictures of these planets to the Earth and complete other missions such as collecting samples of elements on the surface of the planet. The most famous space rovers are Spirit, Curiosity and Opportunity. All of them are placed on Mars to do research there. Spirit and Opportunity were sent to Mars in 2004, Curiosity, in 2012.
The space rover Opportunity was sent to Mars three weeks after the space rover Spirit was sent. The space rover Opportunity is also famous due to its twin like rover, Spirit. The rover goes into a power “sleep” mode when not in use. Opportunity stands 4.9 feet (1.5 meters) high, 7.5 feet (2.3 meters) wide, 5.2 feet
meters)
long, and weighs 400 lbs. (180 kilograms). The rover is solar-powered. Opportunity’s on-board computer uses a 20 MHz RAD6000 CPU with 128MB of DRAM, 3 MB of EEPROM, and 256 MB of flash memory.

Space Rovers
The Mars Spirit Rover is a computerized device operated by NASA, which was sent to conduct a scientific exploration on planet Mars. It first landed on the planet on January 4, 2004, three weeks before Opportunity Rover landed on the same planet. The space rover Spirit is equipped with a Panoramic Camera, two Black and White Hazcams, one Navigation Camera, and a Miniature Thermal Emission Spectrometer. The Mars Spirit Rover’s primary surface mission was intended to last for 90 days. However, the mission lasted for 2,208 days. On August 11, 2007, the rover got the 2nd longest extension on the planet’s surface, with 1,282 additional days.
Curiosity is the most recent one from the famous 3 rovers and has lots of new technologies attached, including a laser attached that can vaporize anything. So, it can break small particles of rocks. It has 17 cameras that can take pictures as tiny as 12.5 microns. That’s smaller than the width of a human hair. Curiosity’s built-in nuclear power plant is capable of generating electricity for up to 14 years. While the Curiosity Rover was launched using a state-of-the-art rocket, it was lowered down to Mars’ surface using a tether attached to a parachute.

Asteroids
The astronomical union committee is responsible for naming asteroids. The first ever discovered asteroid was Ceres, in 1801 by Giuseppe Piazzi. This asteroid is now known as a dwarf planet. Nowadays humans have discovered and named over 6000,000 asteroids in our solar system.
Asteroids are made of leftover materials from the formation of planets. They are made of precious metals, water and more regular metals in their composition. Some asteroids are so big that they have their own moons.
Everyday, more than 100 tons of materials from asteroids fall towards the earth, most of them don’t make it to the surface of the earth, as they burn when they enter in our atmosphere. An asteroid about the size of a car falls into the earth atmosphere every year.

An observatory is a place used to observe celestial or terrestrial events. The main purposes of the early observatories were to regulate the calendar and predict the changes of season and weather.
One of the oldest observatories in South America is the Quito Astronomical Observatory. It is equipped with a very powerful telescope. It was founded in 1873 and nowadays it is managed by the National Polytechnic School, EPN.
An observatory for renewable energy is being built in Latin America. The observatory will be located in the Caribbean and will attend the purpose of renewing energy in the region. Aliens
Should I read that!? Gossip has spread on the internet that there is a Soviet Union Alien Encyclopedia. According to the son of a passed away Ukrainian worker, this encyclopedia, formerly owned by the Soviet Union Secret Service, contains more than 50 different alien species including their physical characteristics, the moment they visited Earth, and the spacial position of each of the species.
Who really built the pyramids!? Many have come to believe that aliens were actually the ones that built the Pyramid
Through the years, there have been countless conspiracy theories, but a new discovery has consolidated this idea. Inside one of the pyramids of Giza, 24 black-boxes were found, each in perfect shape. It is believed these boxes actually originated from aliens due to the incredible accuracy in the stone-cutting, which is not believed to have been made by pharaohs, but by aliens who left these stones behind for pharaohs and kings to appropriate as theirs.
Do UFOs really exist!? Early in July 1947, a UFO (unidentified flying object) crashed on a ranch in Roswell, New Mexico. Rancher W.W. “Mack” Brazel said that after a night of fierce thunderstorms, he and his son found strange metal pieces scattered across the property. Under one of the inspections of the site and the pieces, one of the investigators sent by two government officials, affirmed that he was not sure what it was, but knew it was part of an aircraft. Rumors were constantly spread about the mysterious alien originated aircraft, but the military tried to convince the media it was no more than a weather balloon.

Rockets
Rockets can travel at amazing speeds. The average rocket has to travel at 25,000 miles per hour or 7 miles per second to enter space. That might seem very fast but the Atlas V, which is the fastest rocket in the world, travels at a faster speed. It was able to travel at 47,000 miles per hour (75,639 km/h) after it was launched. In addition, a new Fusion rocket being produced by NASA could allow us to travel to Mars in 30 days. This rocket would not be powered by fuel but instead by nuclear power. The nuclei of two atoms would be pushed together creating a lot of energy and pushing the rocket.
Besides speed, there are some other impressive facts about rockets. For example, the sound that comes from a rocket launch is powerful enough to knock down a building that is nearby. One of the Nasa’s loudest rockets was the Saturn V. In order to absorb a lot of this sound that is produced by a rocket, a pool of water is put underneath the rocket before it is launched. This is why you see a lot of steam under a rocket when it launches as the water is being evaporated from the heat. In addition to sound, another impressive fact is the weight. The space shuttle weighs 165,000 pounds (74,824 kg) when it is without fuel.
There are new rockets and innovations made each year. Some are successful and others are not that successful. For example, the company SpaceX has created a rocket called the “Falcon 9” which has the ability to land and be reused. They are still testing the rockets but out of 14 attempts, eight rockets have landed successfully. So the “Falcon 9” is pretty successful. On the other hand, China created an international space station called “Tiangong 1” that was launched in 2011. It is expected to land in the second half of 2017 but since they don’t have control over the landing, the parts of the rocket that don’t burn up in Earth’s atmosphere will land anywhere on Earth.

Certain foods such as bread are not allowed in space, since crumbs can be inhaled, get into someone’s eyes or damage equipment, so instead, they are given tortillas.

Best Chapel Memory: Mr. Morrison’s 5th grade Plans after Chapel: Do what I love
Endings aren’t nice but it was good enough that we had a happy middle and a very happy start. We learned that even the longest classes can be enjoyable, we learned that some things are temporary and that some things are forever, and we learned that any time of the day is a good time for pie. But most of all, I think we learned how to love each other despite all our differences; we’re all different and beautiful and unique and that’s what made everything worth it. We saw each other five days a week and sometimes we didn’t always know what was going on in each other’s lives but every single one of you made an impact in my life and I think that’s really great. Some of us have impacted each other’s lives in ways that we can’t even imagine. You all made my Mondays better. We made it all the way through, together. Now all we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. Let’s aspire to be so great to the point where we don’t have to introduce ourselves anymore. Let’s just keep swimming, it’s been great.

Moa: Momo, my Chapel years wouldn’t be the same without you. Even if you were not here with me this past year, I am eternally grateful for our friendship. No matter how long it’s been since we last saw each other, we have a connection that is beyond simple human comprehension. It involves heart, because you carry a part of me and I carry a part of you. It’s hard to put it into words just how much you mean to me, because words will never be enough. I know my life wouldn’t be the same without you. Mafe: Fefe, there aren’t enough words to describe how much you mean to me. Writing this to you is hard, because honestly, I’m scared to admit how truly sad I am to know this will be the end of school with you. It doesn’t matter where we are, we will always be there for each other, and I know that you will make a huge impact on those who meet you in the time to come. Gaby: Thank you for being the person you are and just like you said, we are living proof that over the years, these friendships only get stronger. “We already had several nicknames, but none really stuck, because our nickname is best friend.” Carol: Junjajei, thank you for always being there for me and for not judging my poor decision making skills. I’m so thankful to have a friend like you in my life that I can trust and relate so much. I’m glad you are staying here with me, so there will be many more sleepovers, dinners and pool nights for us. Geo: Giouca, I’ve known you for so long and I can’t imagine how hard it will be to not have you here close to me. The lunches with Manu and Ju won’t be the same, and our group will be incomplete without you. Have fun in Florida, and I’ll make sure I will visit you all the time. Lu: Even if we separated, some of my best memories were with you. The best trips, concerts, “batata frita” and appearing in our favorite TV show. You’ll forever be my KCRGMB twin. Alexa: Renatinha, even if we only became friends last year, you are one of the most supportive and funny friends that I have. I’ll miss everything about you, our rides with Cavalcanti and the fact that no matter where we are, we always end up having fun. Bru: Every car ride trips and even at the hood were very special to me. Can’t wait to visit you again. Camila: I’m going to miss our discussions about Dance Moms Cala: In such short time you became so special to me. Love you so much mini me #Monica. Ivan: Vans, I had great memories with you and the one that I’m going to remember the most is the ones from Disney. I had an amazing time with you and your family, and you guys became a second family to me. Robert: Ro, you were always very special to me and you’re always there when I need to talk. There’s a chance that we are going to the same college, so be prepared because I’m basically going to live in your house. Gonzalo: Gonza, I will miss you A LOT! You will always be a very special friend that can always make me smile. I’ll make sure I will visit you in Spain, so we can keep making videos and having photo shoots. The love and appreciation that I have for you will last because the memories that we created will never fade. I’ll miss you day after day and I’ll go visit wherever. Milena: Are there words to describe us? In the last four years, you’re the person that has grown the most; you grew to be confident in yourself and to open up your heart to people who deserve it. Trust me, whom ever you meet, you’ll change their life because you have a brilliant soul. Through our ups and our downs I have grown to love you and appreciate you so much.
Ju: Neglecting that your sibling is right is almost a hobby, and the pride of proving them wrong, is the greatest, but with all jokes aside, I would like to thank you for always being there for me. We always understand each other the most, no matter what. We are brothers, and don’t really express our feelings for each other in words, because it’s a feeling that is just there and we kind of ignore it most of the time. You know I love you, and I hope that as the years go by we will always be there for each other.
Bebella: As I write this, I still do not know what the future holds for us, but then again, no one can ever predict the future no matter what. As it is now, we seem to be going in two different directions but no matter how split apart our paths take us, I am sure it will all end up on the same road. Leaving my life behind in a different city suddenly became so much easier having you by my side. Never doubt how special you always were to me or everything I say I feel for you.
Tuba: Thank you for always understanding me. We have had many funny moments and I hope there are many more to come.
Zé: You made bio so much easier than what it would be. Not academically because we both basically failed, but it was still a good time.
Vini: Sometimes it is easier to just say you’re right instead of keeping a completely unnecessary discussion going. Your immediate reactions to things are always the best.
Leo: You left Chapel when I entered, but you still have always been around. I am excited to see where you will get to. Nick: We grew close this year, and we have had many funny moments, hope we keep chilling and doing stuff together.
Thiago: Mlk dos gameplay, you always find a funny side to anything and I like having your friendship.
Marcelo: Marcemafia, I always like messing with you, and being around you in general, hopefully we won’t lose touch.
Allan: Since 4th grade you have been one of my best friends, and I hope our friendship lasts a lifetime. Maybe if you train hard enough you can beat me in FIFA.
Raul: You are the best goalie I have played with, and I hope you eventually go after a future in football.
Ivan: You are one of a kind, always hearing complaints from everyone for no reason and still having the Ivan smile on your face, as well as the will to make events in your house/plan nights with the class. Felipe: Your intelligence in Portuguese and insights are out of this world, you have a bright future.
Robert: We have some dumb arguments sometimes, but I always enjoy making fun of anything with you simply for your constant good mood and zoeira.
Julio: You’re a good friend to have in Bio, and I like how you laugh at literally everything.
Vincent: I wish I had seen you more in events outside of school, but other than that, I think you are very creative in art and have a very unique personality.
Naoki: You saved me a couple of times in Chem. By couple I mean a few hundred. Hope after you go back to Japan, you come back to visit one day.
Luis: For some reason I always end up saying random things to you at parties. Thanks for listening.
Joaquin: We didn’t talk too much, but we did get suspended around the same time. Hope you go far.

You’re such a special person to me and I’m going to miss you like you have no idea. You have so much to give, so please never let someone take that away from you. Carol: Clearly one of my favorites ever. You make my days happier and better and I’m so glad we got closer this past year. I will miss every moment we spent together laughing till we are dead. And baby girl you got a lot of potential, take advantage of that and be the very best. Paulina: In a short period of time you became my best friend and my partner in life. I don’t know what I’m going to miss more, if our bobadas, us singing, or our non-stop talks and laughs in the worst moments ever. Lob u. Domi: Can’t get enough of you. I’m so happy to be able to call you one of my closest friends. You so crazy girl and stay like that cause you just make the days better and funnier. A piece of advice for underclassmen: Start studying now, it’ll be worth it in the end
Mommy: Momma love, I know this sounds cliché but you are the most important person in my life for endless reasons. If it weren’t for your diligence I would never be graduating from one of the best schools Brazil has to offer. I definitely haven’t thanked you enough for single handedly providing me with the strongest education possible while at the same time pushing me to be more independent, smart and just a better person in general. You hide it well but it has been a struggle to guide your three “dragons” (I had to add some sort of Game of Thrones reference) but I think you’ll be content to know that we are all headed towards a bright future that will probably end with a beach house in either Dana Point or Laguna Niguel. I’m going to miss the simplest of things such as waking up to your “good morning baby”, not getting the joke but laughing at your hilarious laugh, having our Rocky moments, your constant perfect smile and of course your yummy cooking. Thank you again for being such an amazing mother, friend, role model and teacher, I couldn’t and wouldn’t want to have done this without you. I love you. Lala: I feel like you are one of the few people who actually understands my crazy personality. You know when to push me hard enough so I do whatever I have to do without going overboard. You know I’ll hesitate at first but instead of giving up you keep going until I eventually give in. I hope you know that not everyone can do that. I consider you such a strong role model that I now know I have to leave my stubbornness aside in order to succeed like my big sis. Thank you for supporting me and being an inspiration throughout these crazy high school years. Love you so much; I don’t know what I would do without you. We’ll be seeing much more of each other this year so get ready. Dan: I wish I were as open minded and optimistic as you are. Even though all we do is joke around when we’re together I have learned a lot from you. The deep conversations we have, whether it is walking on the pier or watching the sunset while having Sushi, have made me realize that I should live in the present and not dwell in the past. Your optimism brings joy to everyone around and I don’t know what I would do without it. Also, your minimalism amazes me since all you need is your surfboard and the ocean to be happy; I hope to find a passion as strong as yours. Love you so much and can’t wait for our future sunset hunts. Brilhas: If it weren’t for you girls, my three years of high school would be extremely boring. Raf, the first person who talked to me at school. Lu, my best friend by second period. Momo, my favorite partner in crime. Brun, always there regardless the situation. Mabel, the one who taught me to let loose. Mafs, keeps me going when things are tough. Geo, always keeps sertanejo alive. Carol, I had the pleasure of taking you to Narnia. I love each and every one of you and I don’t know how I would survive in São Paulo without you. This is just the beginning. La familia ideal: Ivan, Vini, Lipe, Lu and Raul, my little family. You have been with me since day one. We have gone through some crazy mood swings but still made it work and had fun doing it. Ps. Don’t think you beat me at the basketball game, estoy entrenando. Vini and Ma: It might not seem like it but you two have made a huge difference throughout my Trojan years.
I’m going to miss your silly jokes and caring hugs. Teachers: Thank you for guiding me through this minefield we call high school. Mr. Rombaut, Mr. Murphy and Mrs. Paladini: I really appreciate your support and all you have done for me. I’ll miss you. The Real OG’s (엄마 & 아버지) - Calvin when you read this, translate this to our parents. I got no korean keyboard and you know how Google Translator sucks.
Mother and Father, you both are truly like no other. I am blessed to have been disciplined and loved by you guys. That made me who I am today and made me stronger. I couldn’t have wished for a better discipline. I might not be the best with grades but your exceptional example of hard work and love is something I will carry with me forever.

Nick – One of the realest homies that I know. Truly humble, open-minded, and willing to stand your ground. You already know what time it is. Let’s get it.
Julio – The Best Sense of Humor goes to your dog. Our friendship is a whole another level. We’ve been through a lot together.
Naoki – I swear that War Thunder is not that good, dude. Among South Korea, Japan, and China, you already know who we are going to blame for anything.
Paulina – You are the definition of an independent woman.
Lipe – You’re hilarious. You can make people laugh in any situation. Probably even in a funeral. Keep that up and ignore those that call you childish.
Luis – Well, well, well. You already know what time it is. We are always trying to set trends, you know what it is. No Name Brand.
Ze – You are truly humble and open-minded. No wonder you and Nick are homies. Thiago – Pump? You got an ironic sense of humor that is amazing, dude. When people tell you that you´re immature ask them: “Ahhh, you want?” They know what’s up. Joaquin – Probably got one of the best tastes in music but the worst when it comes to Jordans. You and Allan are the only ones that know what sneakers are. Allan – You’ve joined us recently but everyone loves you because you got that chill vibe.
Raul – You are the one that looks beyond and tries to make moves. The one that actually is interested in finance and life beyond college. That’s true ambition.

A piece of advice for underclassmen: Don’t stress to much about IB. It’s easy and not a big difference in your house.
Sdouds: Eta, we still are the best couple at Chapel, and I’m sure after Chapel too. Duds, Lus, Sdouds, the Pumpkin, ou só Luis mesmo, you are fat but I still like you a bit. I am the best person in the world to make you laugh, and you know that. Maybe one day I we will write a book teaching people how to do so. Teits: I would be more of your friend if if you were buff, so that is why I don’t like you so much. Still, I’m pretty sure we didn’t pass a single day without laughing, or having deep talks about anything. Vans o Negro: Probably the slowest and worst math partner and learner, which constantly seeks refuge on my knowledge. Still, we are the funniest math hl class ever of Chapel. Cora: One day I can still teach you how to speak Spanish. I don’t think I ever had such deep talks with anyone as I had with you. It doesn’t really matter where you are, we will always talk, and I will always be here for you. JuliaCamelo: One day I can still teach you how to cook, specially my Siciliano Lemon Risotto with Prosciutto de Parma (fancy I know (my English too)). #teammurilao #istillbelieve Marcereja: The backpack. Mafe: Always the deepest talks and the most truthful talks that always made us laugh from the problems we had and simple things that happened to us. Paola: The greatest and biggest and most malinha I ever met in my life. Maybe a liiitle bipolar, a liiitle stressed né, but maybe I still kind of like you. Fefe: Second best wakeboarder in Chapel, after me of course. I am still waiting on that rolezinho to andar de wake, and also from that boat that you promised. #cenoura Isa: “Best” Mad Scientist Club partner, where your constant and innumerable ideas for experiments always made the club fun, and flow like a boat. I know I always beat you academically, but it’s fine, I have let you win sometimes. I’m still not sure how I am going to pass in college without you revising my English texts. You are a friend that I will take after Chapel, and for sure forever. Malu: You seem quiet, but I like you a lot. Plus, I always know how to make you laugh. Roberin: We played poker with Latino (Festa no Ape). @Luffig: The best wakesurfer at Chapel, but still needs to learn how to do a Quadratrick. Nick: I still laugh with all the memories we had, be it in Rio for volleyball, Ilhabela with the Torukmakto, or our amazing Christmas bazaar performance. Marina: Best partner for presentations, but still needs to learn with me how to get tanned. Lams: Best “fazedora de carinhos” on Chapel ever. Gonza: I wish I could be as lucky with girls as you are.#sabs Resto da Galerinha of 2017: There is no one in this Grade I actually don’t like, and I wish everyone the best in their own lives!
Wolfpack: What a group! What fun we have had these couple last years of high-school, maybe the best years of my life, and that is all due to you. I really hope to continue these friendships after graduation and take them for life. I love you all and will never forget all adventures we lived together, brothers. Ivan: Turtlz or mamão, which ever fits you best at a certain moment. Despite some fights over dumb things, I think our friendship prevailed. Not even your determination could help you out of the 0, and I don’t think that will change, ever. Allan: The great Borsa, strong as a chicken. You evoke the inner dumb person in me, maybe because I want to copy you. Although not knowing you for long, it seems as if we always knew each other for a long time. Awesome dumb moments with you that I will never forget, thank you for all the laughs during these 2 short years. Joaquin: Did not like you at first, but you turned out to be one of my best friends which I will always remember. Despite you caring more for shoes than your friends, you were always there when I needed you. All those Math HW, we did not even take notes of, I remember all of them. Maybe I can teach you basketball one day boy! Marcelinho: The one and only MarceLindo. Since kids we are good friends and I hope this can go on forever. Sadly you don’t understand soccer because you support such a horrible team, but that is OK, you are still young and can learn. Awesome times spent with you, either on parties, Riviera, on the farm, and many other places. Lipe: Always making funny comments on class and making everyone laugh.
Thiaguera: Of course I had to write to my best friend first. Man you were one of the few people that spent their whole high school with me always supporting me in every moment. Words are useless when talking about our friendship. Hope our friendship lasts for a lifetime.
WolfPack: Ivan turtlz demais...kkkkk guys never had a better time than with you guys. All the memes and the jokes but I can certainly say that this group will last for a life time, except if Raul the Snake breaks the squad in half.
Lil Jesus Squad: Fam thank you for all the sushi nights and the nights we spent in my house hunting mosquitos and all these other stuff. There aren’t enough words to describe how much you guys are important to me.
Mlks: You guys are the essential for all the trouble we go into, especially for the things we shared with each other. Not writing to each and everyone of you individually but let you guys know that I thank you for all the good moments all the jokes and all the IB suffering we had together.
Girls: Thanks for causando a lot with all the polemicas. Not writing for each and every single one of you but I would still like to let you all know that I thank you for all the moments that either made me laugh or made me cry because of so much drama. But thank you all for these moments that I will cherish through eternity.
As Amigas: JESUS, what a group! Thanks for all the moments since Pre-1 and making me laugh every single day.

A piece of advice for underclassmen: Don’t let other people tell you who you are. Be yourself and don’t be afraid to feel and think. Life is shorter than you can imagine so enjoy it. It costs 0$ to be a decent person, so give the best in you to people. Time heals wounds so don’t sweat the small stuff. Most importantly, question everything (in a healthy way). Information can be easily manipulated, so study, get smart and learn how to interpret and filter it. It’s ok to not know something, but if you don’t know anything about it, then don’t pretend like you do. There’s already enough dumb people around, so if you’re not going to help solve the problem, at least don’t make it worse.
The fam: Even though it hurts to admit it, I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you peeps. I love you all and it’s been a pleasure to keep the sanity inside our house way below bearable. Mawie and Ferbs: Luv ya so much. Thank you so much for being there for me even though I can get pretty annoying at times, for listening through my 3 hour physics lectures, and for putting up with my skepticism. Brown might think otherwise, but I trust you both with my life and we’ll always be the tight squad we are today. T-bone: We weren’t always tight but I am so thankful that I got to know you better. I can’t even start counting how many times you’ve made me laugh so hard that I cried. You have the power to make school almost bearable. You’re one of those friends I can get stupid and silly with but still argue about the cosmos with. Thanks for being part of these amazing memories that I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life. Mafezitcha: Thank you for all of our “Altas seshs”. It made me grow and learn about my own life more than you would ever imagine. The world needs more kind-hearted people like you. I wish you the best Mafe and I hope that you can take a bit of our seshs onto your life and that it helps you whenever you need it.The Mighty Nock: Words bare not enough meaning to describe our jolly adventures that we have shared through the follicles of time. Cannot pinpoint whence our story begun, my brethren, but since then thou hast spread your soothsayer knowledge upon me. It’s from deep within that I thank you for all our memories and all our “brizas”. When thou finds thyself resting among thy chamber, wizened yet quenched with thy life, hope I your minds holds plenty of fine times with the old teits. With great love, señor. Bag: I’ve known you since I’ve known myself. Since we are little toddlers we’ve always been friends and I’m sure we always will. Can’t emphasize how good these years by your side have been through all “folias” but I know that our tale doesn’t end here. Independent of far we are we’ll always keep touch. Thank you for being always more than just a friend but a brother. Caz: Eta. At first we weren’t buddies but times have brought us together, luisito, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Putting into words how awesome these years have been with you is simply impossible, I’m just glad it happened. Thank you for making me laugh and for being there for me. I hope you carry these good memories in a special little place in your heart just as I’ll carry in mine.Ni: In a matter of a couple days you went from a complete stranger to the most important person in my life. Everything about being with you just felt so right and it felt like home. Independent of how hard I tried, words couldn’t express how much you mean to me and how much I love you. Thank you for being here for me, for taking care of me, and for being such an amazing person.
If you aren’t here, worry not, all of you have a special place in my heart and it’s been a pleasure to grow with you and call you my family. I hate that this feels like a goodbye, but our stories don’t end here. In case we turn this page in our lives and I’m not there anymore, farewell, thank you for everything and I wish you all a happy ending.

Our memories together are countless, from the dumb voices we make when we talk to the weird pimple popping videos we watch for fun. “Ah yes”, leaving off without you by my side is really going to be hard, I’m not sure who I’m going to call at 4 am and who’s waking up voice I’m going to listen to when I can’t sleep. Luisito: Had a lot of fun with our childish moments and guitar playing/singing videos! And I think you’re the only one crazy enough to listen to my house secrets at noon while inebriate! Marcelinho: The funniest and most exaggerated friend, there will never be a hangout without your presence; though I’m positive you’ll always be there! Steve: The most politically correct and incorrect person I’ve seen, though there will never be fun without you. You have to stop buying shoes! Raul: My friend since my second day at Chapel (we know why not the first), and it was amazing to spend time together with you, hope it never ends! Allan: My English savior, FIFA partner and favorite “borsa”, I’ll miss every moment I had together with you! You’re still the biggest “turtlz”. Giules: Loved our talks, laughs and horror movie times. I still hope we can open our own bakery someday. Never change your perfume! Bella: The sweetest, kindest and caring friend I’ve ever had, thanks for all the laughs, the talks (more like outbursts) and partnering in school. You’ll always be in my heart and my doors will always be opened to anytime you would like to bake with me! Marinão: Had the best diet/junk food talks to! You’re really funny and genuine to a point I could easily tell all my fears, bothers and reliefs! Never give up on the “requeijão”. Paolita: The only one who compliments me on every single snap I send. You’re my best inspiration to make me contend with who I am. Continue being the tiniest, sweetest girl! Felipe/Vini/ Luiza/Alexa: “La familia Ideal” since the first Spanish class, which came to be the most satisfying class with you by my side. “Somos el fuego que arde tu piel!”. Julito: Loved our late nights playing UFC, you really turned my boring times at home into the most low-key amusing hours. Don’t worry, I’ll keep sending videos of my dad! Mafe: Sweet, sincere and delicate, I know we’ll be friends for ever, and nothing will ever stop me from showing you the best romance movies I’ve watched! Carol: You sure do have an incredible ability to make a trip to Narnia in only a few hours! Milena/Malu: Literally couldn’t survive TOK without you. Thankfully you’re both really patient and generous enough to give the best tips! Rafa: You’re always positive and good humored, I hope to see you on the many trips to Disney I take on the future! Gus/Tuba: Your awful raps will always entertain me when I most need them and when I definitely don’t! Zé: Keep stealing clay paste from school posters! Robert: It’s an HB20! Naoki: Do you like cheese? And bicycles? Nick: The Dragon Whale is Blue! Vincent: Vinss! Omar/Manu/Thiago B: Thanks for both great and stressful moments in school and on the field, I’m sure STUCO and NHS will be in great hands next year!

Shiners: You guys definitely made my Chapel experience so much better and helped me get through it. I love all of you very much and I know that our story does not end here. Bruna: I really don’t know how I made it through my senior year without my best friend. I love how we always talk about the same things and it never gets repetitive. You have no idea how much you mean to me. I just really wanted to thank you for always being honest with me and for just being there. “Playing for Chapel’s varsity girls basketball team was truly magical. It was an amazing experience. Although we took games and tournaments very seriously, there was always a lot of room for fun, laughs, and jokes which only brought us even closer together. Despite the tough moments we faced, as when one of our players lost her tooth, I can tell you for sure that we never gave up. I remember when we were losing to Graded by one point and in the last second, before the game came to an end, Dani Ueki shot and scored. In the VERY LAST SECOND! As I used to tell our team, “you never know how strong you are until being strong is your only option”. In our case, however, we know how strong we are and we know what we are capable of, and I can’t wait for next semester so as to show others what we can do.”

BIG 4 Champions!
“Softball is one of those sports where the practices and games are packed with hilarious trash talking, unexpected injuries, odd cheers, a whole lot of walking, and some sprinting. Above all else, it truly is a mental game. At BIG 4 we kept this in mind and were able to take home the gold after 10 long and stressful innings. If only I could end this with a Campbell quote. However, since this doesn’t seem particularly fitting, I’ll end the season with an excerpt from Hamilton: “Look them in the eye, aim no higher, summon all the courage you require, then count 1, 2, 3, 4”. Teamwork makes the dream work, softball out, see ya next year. Thanks Mr. Campbell, Mr. Vaughan, and Mr. Marcello.” - Anika Kapur

National Honor Society
Mission Statement:
In the National Honor Society we strive to fulfill the NHS four main pillars of Service, Character, Leadership and Scholarship. Aiming to work on issues of global value, inside and outside of school, we plan activities with the intent of bringing the school community together and projects which many times involve the collection of donations to charitable causes. Advised by Ms. Vompean, students met every Thursday morning from 7:00 to 7:50 a.m.. This school year the projects developed in NHS were: Green Week, Cistern built in the school in order to reduce water use for plants and trees around the school; Lecture on environmental art with Eduardo Srur, who devoted his entire life into making art in a public scale promoting the protection of the environment, Awareness week to promote better care with the environment, protecting the animals, plants and forests around the globe; and Worker’s breakfast - students prepared a meal for the Chapel worker’s as a thank you for all their hard work.
Throughout the year, the following students were active members of NHS: Gonzalo Alvares, Marina Giglio, Milena Mezei, Camila Oliani, André Matarazzo, Daniela Cortez, Isabella Martins, Ivan Rocha (President), Maria Fernanda Collado, Rebecca Hsiao, Thiago Bittar (Vice-President), Arthur Silveira, Beatriz Rede, Iqra Fátima, Daniella Ueki, Julia Pereira, Julia Schmitt, Maria Luiza Stokebrand, Rebecca Kummer, Julia Tolda, Rodrigo Silva, Laura Durazzo.
National Junior Honor Society
NJHS (National Junior Honor Society) is a globally known student-led organization that has the goal of serving the community. Through various charity projects, NJHS attends to the society always reaffirming its five main pillars: Character, Service, Leadership, Citizenship, and Scholarship. Since 2014, NJHS has been helping the Chapel Community and creating many activities to aid the school and the city of São Paulo. In this year’s edition, two projects were developed. The first one was the Santa Causa Project which helped the Santa Casa Hospital of São Paulo, a hospital in need which helps many patients each year. As their supplies were running low, NJHS decided to collect and donate toilet paper, paper towels, and adult diapers. We consider this project our most successful one, considering that we were able to gather hundreds of materials, visit the hospital and have a talk with its owner José Luiz Setúbal, who is also one of the heirs of Banco Itaú. In return, the hospital even sent us a letter thanking us for all donations. The second project was the annual Movie Night. The goal is to collect money that will be donated by next year’s NJHS group. It ensures entertainment for Chapel students who come to watch a movie with their friends and family in a delightful evening. To summarize, NJHS is always working in hopes of helping others and our society. This year has been incredible, and we wish all the best for the next chapter of NJHS.
This year we met on Tuesdays from 7:10 to 7:50, led by Mr. Padilha, with the following active members: Alexia Schpilberg, Anika Kapur, Carolina Cordeiro, Fernanda Lacombe, Helena Ribeiro, Isabella Gagliardi, Isabella O’keef, Juana Devoto, Luisa Tolda, Neil Kapur, Nicholas Ueki, Rafaela Oliveira, Rhea Kapur, Roberta Ramos, Rocio A.Ochoa, Rodrigo Luz, Willam Cho, Lydia Cunha, and Renan Cunha.

MUN and JMUN
MUN (Model United Nations) is a club in which each member gets a chance to impersonate a country and debate pressing global issues such as police brutality, GMOs, the Saudi Arabian oil crisis, etc. Using lobbying tactics, points of information, and amendments to draft a diplomatic resolution that also pushes their country’s agenda is a must whether he/she represents the United States, Brazil, North Korea, Russia, Canada, or the Marshall Islands. In ECOSOC, Security Council, UNHRC, DISEC, and INTERPOL, committee sessions where persuasive speakers, historical references, loud delegates, extreme right of replies, laughs, and frustration abound. This year, Chapel participated in three external conferences including SPMUN (hosted by Saint Paul’s), THIMUNLA (in Montevideo), and BraMUN (in Bahia). In addition, the club held two ChaMUNs or internal conferences in which delegates, both old and new, get to develop tactics in a lighter setting.
Throughout the year, the following students were active members of MUN:Amyr Martins,Anika Kapur,Anthony Higgins,Arthur Silveira, Benjamim Fernandes, Bruno Ayoub, Daniel Araujo, Daniela Ueki, Davi An, Emilio Marin, Izabella Carpenter, João Carvalho, Joaquin Stella, Manuel Castañares, Maria Fernanda Lacombe, Neil Kapur, Nicholas Ueki, Nicolas Kiep, Omar El Jamal, Ornella Pereira, Patrick El Jamal, Pedro de Marchi, Rafaela Oliveira, Rhea Kapur, Rodrigo Luz, Rodrigo Silva, Sangwon Lee (Josh), Seoyeon Park (Hannah), Thiago Bittar. Building Our Community
This year we continued to teach, practice, and assess behaviours that foster inclusive, safe, and responsible communities all day long: during all classes but also in special classes focused on community and citizenship:
Caring and Sharing in ECEC (Pre1- Kinder) - once a week ECEC students learn about CARES.
CARES Class in ES (1st - 5th) - Each Friday, mixed groups of Elementary students from 1st through 6th grades meet to learn and practice the CARES standards. This year, students learned about empathy and cooperation. The semester ended with CARES Choice, a program in which students chose a mini-course of their interest such as CSI Scient, Jr. Journalism, Photography, Dogs of Course, Cookie-monsters, etc.
CARES for LIfe in 6th grade - students learned about their development as teenagers Advisory Program (7th-12th) – Advisory is a 30-minute weekly “break” from high school students’ busy and demanding academic routine to reflect on their lives, personal actions, community needs, and cultural diversity.
CAS Program (11th and 12th) – CAS is an avenue for IB students to showcase who they are to the world. Through the Creativity, Activity, and Service Program, 11th and 12th graders engage in a variety of extracurricular activities and one personal project to showcase who they are to the world while contributing to our community! All the Sports, Clubs, Activities and Events from previous pages are a part of the CAS Program!
Education for Sustainable Development
In 2017, Chapel introduced EDS, a transdisciplinary program in High School, based on UNESCO’s goals for Sustainable Development. Our goal? Improve Chapel student’s awareness of the importance of sustainable development. This program from 7th-11th grade happened in February and March, involving activities in all subject areas, including investigation trips (WOC) to Paraty/Ubatuba (7th), PETAR (8th), Extrema (9th), and Brasília (10th and 11th). The project culminated with the production of documentaries of the trips and the discussion of the theme of sustainability, showcased to the whole community on March 16th.

Fourth grade students had a lovely time visiting the senior citizens at Casa Ondina Lobo. They sang Christmas songs, gave them cards made in class and interviewed them. It was a very touching moment for the elders and the students. Fourth grade students also interviewed Chapel staff from maintainance and kitchen. They were amazed by the work they do here at Chapel school making sure students, teachers and all the staff have an incredible learning community.

Allan Ricardi Alcalai

Como sempre conversamos, never give up, right!

Siempre estaremos a tu lado.

My dearest darling daughter Alexa, you have come to the beginning of the next big chapter of your life and I am filled with pride and love. From the moment you were born you have brought beauty, joy and excitement to our lives. Your sweet smile and sharp mind always present, always refreshing, always inspiring. It is a pleasure to be your mommy and I cherish every moment we have experienced together. To be honest it will be very hard to be without my fashion advisor, my scary movie buddy, my brigadeiro maker and my baby girl here with me every day. At the same time I am immensely excited and happy for you because I know that you go forward to great new life and learning adventures. Just as your sister Laura and your Brother Daniel did, you go forward in life but not away from me. You are in my heart and I am yours in a way that mere distance cannot change. Move forward with a light heart and strong resolve my littlest bird and know that I will always be here for you.

Querida Marina:

Marise e Adyr

Congratulations on your graduation, Yu-Ju. I am so proud of you. You were a small, young girl who always encouraged me and made me laugh. And now you’ve grown as a wonderful woman and are about to have your first step toward the world. You will have many paths ahead of you and sometimes have to make a difficult choice or be tested. But always keep in mind that you should choose the path with which you can be happy above all. I wish you to be a person who shines like the sun, filled with happiness. As the sun nurtures lives with its light, shine your own light and share your happiness. You can do anything.

Deco querido, meu ursinho eterno!!
a gente conseguiu te ensinar e te oferecer.

A cidade toda alagada; tudo parado.

We love you.

healthy, sensitive, human and a participant in the family life. His wisdom, which represents the art of understanding life, has been sprouting strongly. Tik as we call him, or Tuba as his friends dubbed him the Chapel, is kind and conquers all with his simplicity. He is focused and disciplined when he wants to achieve a goal, won the black belt of Taekwondo at the age of 11 years, was a five-time champion in São Paulo, a two-time Brazilian champion and a three-time Latin American champion. After his trip to exchange in the United States with 15 years left the sport. Now he aspires to be a doctor, participates in extracurricular preparation to achieve this objective goal. But we believe that He has the ideal characteristics of intelligence, wisdom and sensitivity, able to do good to your neighbor and to be happy.

As comemorações, 1° comunhão com o F. Brown, tantas alegrias, desafios, frustrações, vitórias, decepções, NR, IB, namoros, adeus a amigos, amigos novos, tantas emoções vividas nesses anos. Valeu a pena! Seja feliz nesta nova etapa. Estamos contigo, sempre! - Toda a família.
