Osgemeos are admired by the public, recognized by the critics, and sought out by international exhibitors. They have also attracted the attention of former Pink Floyd member Roger Waters. The artists have always been especially fond of this English band, ever since the beginning of their artistic career, and the band’s album, “The Wall” (1979), has always inspired them. At actor Johnny Depp’s request, the artists created a panel for his home in Los Angeles. The 2014 year was also one of recognition for the brothers. After the success of their “Ópera da Lua” (Opera of the Moon) exhibition, which brought 60,000 visitors to Galpão Fortes Vilaça in São Paulo for two months, Gustavo and Otávio went to Canada. There they faced another challenge: to paint 360º, 20-meter tall, 2000-square-meter murals on six gigantic silos in False Creek, Vancouver, for the city’s Biennale. Osgemeos spoke with exclusivity to Inside Chapel shortly after finishing the three-week project that would leave their mark on Granville Island forever. The artists, who are generally interview-averse, agreed to be interviewed only after they found out about Chapel School’s commitment to the field of arts.
