SO YOU THINK YOU CAN!? A lot of the shows aired on TV these days are Arabic versions of TV shows that already proofed their success worldwide, starting with ‘Star Academy’ to ‘Arab Idol’ to ‘Arabs Got Talent,’ ‘The Voice,’ ‘X Factor’ and finally ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ (Yalla Norkos). All what we were able to add to these shows is the ‘Arab’ phrase on the title nothing more. Some of these shows we were able to alter to match the Arab culture properly while others totally missed up like ‘The Big Brother’ show that MBC tried to do an Arabic version of, and the show was cancelled after the program’s release of one episode because it was too foreign and doesn’t match the conservative nature of the Gulf Area, where the house of the competitors was supposed to be. The last addition to the serials of TV shows was ‘So You Think You Can Dance,’ which is aired on Fox Movies channel these days. I used to love the American version of the show and I won’t be exaggerating if I say when I travel to the US in the summer I have to watch it live every night and if not, I make my aunt record the whole season on DVDs for me and bring it to Egypt when she comes. It’s almost an obsession, and when I heard there will be an Arabic version of it called ‘Yalla Norkos’ I was skeptical a little, but thought why not let’s give it a try. Unfortunately, the nature of the show was very hard to be applied here in the Arab world, I know all about the globalization theory and the world is a small town and so on… call me old fashion, but

I still believe that there is an Arab World and Arab citizens with certain nature and live style that makes finding people talented enough to participate in this show would be an impossible mission. After finishing the audition and watching the live show, I can only say that unfortunately the level of the talents is pathetic and can’t be compared to the original show. In the US, people dance in cafes, in the street, in discos and in bars beside having a lot of people who work as professional dancers and trainers, which is a lot compared to here in Egypt, where we only know how to belly dance, which is unfortunately not praised or celebrated a lot as we’ve seen recently the show ‘Al Rakysa’ was banned and called too exposing after its first episode. What really disappoints me in all that is that the idea of making a talents show or singing competition is not that hard, so why do we have to stick to a foreign show, and all the efforts we do is adding the word Arabs to its title? Why can’t we be creative enough to create our own shows that represent our Arabic identity without having the idea being tailored to suit us? Can’t we be more creative and try to create instead of imitate all the time? I hope to live till I see our Egyptian and Arabic media able to invest in our culture, heritage and lifestyle to come up with a show that salutes these skills and make a worthy show out of it that represents the Arabs not altered to find us a place to fit us in it.

SHAY’S COUTURE FALL/WINTER 2 0 14 a mira Tharwat talks to Shaymaa Maher founder of Shay’s Couture about her collection for Fall/Winter 2014, how her passion for fashion begins and her wishes for fashion industry in Egypt…

LOUNGE 22

How was the beginning of Shay’s Couture? I started working on pieces for my brand Shay’s couture this year. This is after I have been around, exploring the fashion industry. I was selected to participate in MBC4’s MENA’S next top designer aiming to find the region next talented designer. The show featured prominent figures namely Lebanese designer Zuhair Muraad, who was present as a judge during its airing in 2012. I then moved to Lebanon to learn more about Haute Couture techniques, having the pleasure to be trained under the umbrella the renowned Lebanese fashion designer Rami Salamoun. How did your passion for fashion begin? Fashion is my passion ever since I was a child. I used to put together small patterns making dresses for my toys playing with different textures using any fabrics at my disposal, even paper to create something beautiful. I didn’t realize at that time that I had this kind of passion and talent growing within me. Why did you call your couture ‘Shay’? Actually, it’s an abbreviation for my name; Shaymaa. It is also a clever word with a spot-on urban meaning defining the girl that everyone wants to be. Super pretty, smart, honest, nice, and very cool. She’s your perfectionist, always aiming to reach higher in life and one of the best friends you’ll ever know. And, this is the primary message I want to emanate through my brand giving a shout-out to every girl wearing a piece of mine allowing her to feel poise. What are your favourite fabrics? My favourite fabrics are lace, tulle, shantung and sequins. But, what I enjoy the most is getting creative with fabrics, mixing them to give them a beautiful edge. This enriches the designs and gives them the ultimate uniqueness. If you can describe your collection in three words what would you say? Royally elegant, rich & dreamy, giving any woman the happy feeling of being confident and comfortable in her own skin. What are the biggest challenges you face in the fashion business? There are many challenges that young designers face every day. Introducing a unique identity is one of them as it requires strategic approach. It is sometimes difficult to reach and create appeal for the Egyptian client, letting them know that catering a design that suits them perfectly could be very satisfactory, sometimes even more than resorting to ready-to-wear. Another challenge that could actually turned into a boost in the long term is the local fashion industry. The market in Egypt is currently growing but until it reaches a certain maturity, some tools allowing young designers to jump-start their business are not yet implemented. A designer making their debut, could be sometimes at loss on how to reach out to the market. But, I don’t consider this a drawback, I have every faith that the fashion industry in Egypt will keep growing at a swift pace because of the interest and the demand that is building up. Who are your favourite designers? I love Zuhair Murad, Olivier Rousteing for Balmain and Zac Posen. What are the latest trends for Winter 2015? I am currently seeing a lot of clean lines, feathery textures, fur, cocoon silhouettes, rappel to the sixties with relevant prints and gold motifs appear to be all in this season.

LOUNGE 23

FASHION & TRENDS LOUNGE

Colours for this winter’s season seem to be either bleak such as hues of greys, blues and, mauve adjacent more vibrant hues varying from yellow, orange, shimmery gold and aurora red. Any celebrities or public figures who wore your designs? Actually there are some projects in the pipeline now with well know names. I will not tell to keep the surprise. Who is the person you dream of designing for? I wish to design a piece for Jennifer Lopez; she is a fashion icon who always likes to distinguish herself with what she wears. What are your advices to girls who want to join the fashion industry? Be yourself, innovate, create and spreadout. Don’t give up too quickly, there is room for growth, just be patient and work hard. What are your wishes for your couture? I wish to see my brand being widely renowned in Egypt, MENA and maybe even all over the world. Putting Egypt on the map of the fashion world, maybe even making it a fashion capital where I can have stores sprinkled with lovely dresses to ultimately give women the variety and happiness they can receive from my designs.

Al Ethad Company Acquiring the Proxy of Estee Lauder in Egypt a

l Sharief Group for Marketing and Fragrances is one of the biggest Egyptian companies working in the field of makeup, Perfume and Watch marketing. It has the proxy of many international brands in Egypt. For example Burberry, Salvatore Ferragamo, Jaguar, Dupont, Boucheron, Bugatti, Lapidus,‌etc for fragrances; Deborah, Florelle, Jordana and Mavala for makeup; and Adriatica for watches, which is considered the biggest rival to all of the other Swiss brands for its shape, quality, capabilities and prices.

LOUNGE 28

Recently, Mr. Saeed al Sharief has established a new company with the name of al Etahad. Al Ethad managed to get the proxy of Estee Lauder for the First time in Egypt which has products that have never been in the Egyptian market before , at least legally. However, some rival companies launched a barrage of rumors doubting the fact that Al Ethad Co. managed to acquire such a proxy. That’s why we have had the following conversation with Mrs. Haidy Wahba, the marketing manager of Al Sharief Group and the current person in charge of Al-Ethad Co. First of all, we’d like to know more about Al Sharief Group.. Al Sharief Group for Marketing and Fragrances is an Egyptian company that has many international proxies in the field of makeup, perfumes and Watches. Mr. Saeed al Sharief established that company 15 years ago, then he opened many exhibitions called Al Sharief Beauty that reached more than 9 exhibitions in Cairo and Alexandria. Lately, Mr. Al Sherief established a new company working in the same field called Al-Ethad to be a sister company to al Sharief group.

LOUNGE 29

What are the most important brands that al Sharief group has its proxies in Egypt? Al Sharief group has the proxy of many international brands like Bogart, Caron, La Martina, Polo Beverly Hills, Salvador Dali, Emanuel Ungaro, Jaguar, Dupont... etc for fragrances; Deborah, Florelle, Jordana and Mavala for makeup; for Watches it has Adriatica ; and Tie brands like Lanvin, Chiroti and Yves Saint Laurent. Could you give us a brief overview of Al Ethad company? It is a new Egyptian company established by Mr. Sharief . Its main target is to cquire major international proxies to market

LOUNGE 30

international brand products legally in Egypt, and the first proxy the company managed to get is Estee Lauder. But there are rumors questioning the fact that al Ethad managed to get the Proxy of Estee Lauder? These rumors are very far from the truth. AlEthad did succeed in getting the proxy of Estee Lauder for the first time in Egypt, and the first product that will be launched will be Aramis and Designer Fragrances which contain 8 famous brands. What are the brands included in Aramis and Designer Fragrances? Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, Â DKNY, Aramis, Zegna, Kiton and many more. When did the company get the proxy of Estee Lauder? In August 2014. What are the brands that may follow Estee Lauder? There are many brands like Bobbi Brown, Clinic..etc, but Aramis and Designer

Fragrances is the one we currently have chosen for marketing its products in Egypt. When is the launching of Aramis and Designer Fragrances in Egypt? In October 2014, the fragrances of this group will be launched in a great event. In your opinion, why have the competitors launched such rumors? And what is your response to them? There were many competitors that made business proposals like ours to the proxy, but ours was chosen. Logically, there has been a kind of professional jealousy from the competitors that made them launching such ridiculous rumors. And I tell them wait and you will see yourselves. You will realize how qualified we are in marketing the proxy’s products successfully in Egypt. Does Al Ethad Company plan to get more international proxies in Egypt? Of course, the proxy Estee Lauder is the first proxy we managed to get, but we will have more international proxies in the future.

relationships

YOU ARE SIGNS BEING j TOO JEALOUS

ealousy is one of the worst things about relationships, no one likes that jealous feeling you get sometimes when you see another girl flirting with your boyfriend or you catch him checking out a stranger. While it’s totally okay to feel jealous sometimes, it happens to all of us once in a while, no matter how confident we may be, it’s not okay to be a crazy, jealous monster. Too much jealousy can easily become controlling and can also lead to the end of your relationship. Reem El Shennawi brings you signs that you’re way too jealous. HEARING ABOUT HIS PAST HOOKUPS MAKES YOU WANT TO DIE

Yes, it’s a little uncomfortable to hear your boyfriend talk about his past relationships or girls he hooked up with or liked before he met you. But, discussing that stuff or even just hearing about it shouldn’t make you feel a surge of jealous rage. It’s important to realize and accept the fact that your boyfriend had a life before you. It’s unrealistic to think that you’re the only girl in his world, ever. Don’t get jealous over things that happened before you were in the picture - that’s completely pointless.

YOU ALWAYS NEED TO KNOW WHERE HE IS

someone else once in a while. That’s a major sign of jealousy and insecurity.

YOU JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS A LOT, THEN FEEL STUPID ABOUT IT

If you’ve found yourself jumping to conclusions about silly things and then realize you were wrong, then guess what? You’re too jealous. If you weren’t jealous, you would be able to rationally think things out before assuming the worst.

HIS FACEBOOK PAGE IS ALWAYS UP ON YOUR COMPUTER

It’s fine to glance at his Facebook once in a while, but it’s not okay to leave it up all day long so that you can be constantly updated on what he’s doing online. Keeping close tabs on any of his social media pages is not a good sign, and it’s even worse if you’re obsessively cyberstalking anyone who dares to write on his wall.

YOU DON’T TRUST ANY GIRL WHO TALKS TO HIM

When you’re in a relationship, it’s important to realize that there are other females in the world your boyfriend might need or want to interact with. If you can’t stand when he talks to other girls or has girl friends or even mentions female co-workers, you’re too jealous. That’s stifling and it’s going to push him away.

Jealousy often turns into feeling the need to have control over a person, which is where this comes in. Just because someone is your boyfriend doesn’t mean he has to update you constantly with where he is and what he’s doing. And, you shouldn’t feel like you have to know, if you do, that’s a big sign that you’re too jealous. It means that you’re worried about what he’s doing, who he’s talking to, who’s with. And, if you weren’t feeling jealous, you’d trust him enough to know that he’s not being shady.

YOU HAVE CHECKED UP ON HIM BEFORE IN SOME WAY

Okay, let’s get something clear: guys are going to look at and check out other girls sometimes, whether they’re strangers passing you by on the streets, friends of yours or celebrities out of his reach. It’s normal. Should he be gaping at every single chick that walks by? No, that’s not cool. But, don’t persecute him if he sometimes mentions that another girl is pretty or if you catch him looking at

If most of your fights revolve around you accusing your boyfriend of cheating on you when he isn’t, that’s a big sign of jealousy. It’s also a big sign that your relationship might end soon, because stuff like this is destructive. Trust is really important when you’re dating someone. If you’re so jealous that you can’t trust him, you may need to be on your own for a while.

YOU FIGHT WITH HIM EVERY TIME HE NOTICES ANOTHER FEMALE

LOUNGE 32

Be honest, have you ever secretly checked up on your boyfriend? By that I mean, have you ever drove by his house to see if he’s really home? Have you ever stopped by where he is with his friends to make sure no other girls are there or that he’s telling the truth? Have you ever asked his friends what he does when you’re not around? These are all signs of jealousy and they’re not acceptable for most partners.

YOU’VE ACCUSED HIM OF CHEATING A FEW TIMES

YOU ALWAYS FEEL THE NEED TO LOOK THROUGH HIS PHONE Scrolling through your boyfriend’s phone to read his text messages, check out his pictures and go through his call list is not normal girlfriend behaviour; it’s jealous girlfriend behaviour. Snooping through his phone is not okay.

YOU HATE WHEN HE HAS GUY NIGHT

If you can’t stand the thought of your boyfriend having fun and going out without you, that means you’re too jealous. Do his guy nights make you panic because you don’t know what’s going on? Do you constantly check up on him when he’s with friends? These are all signs of being too jealous and controlling. When you’re dating someone, it’s important to let each other have your own lives and do your own thing sometimes.

Dear second child, dear my second bliss, I know I haven’t been devoted to you from day one as I have been with your brother, I know I don’t hug you more often, I know I don’t shower you and your tiny feet with kisses as I should do, I know I miss smiling back at you sometimes, and I know I wish we can spend hours looking at one another. Baby girl, I know now that the attention you need and seek will never be full, I know that you were meant to share, share me. I never thought I would love a baby again after having your brother, my first love, but to my surprise I am madly deeply in love with you, you are the answer to my prayers and the peace that fills my heart, and with all the love that fills my heart I just can’t care more. Baby girl, I don’t give you my full attention

because I am always running after your brother, he is my bless too, but he is older than you, now he speaks what he needs unlike you baby girl, I am always running, feeding, bathing, playing with your brother and may be losing my mind because of your brother. I know you might feel neglected or lack care, but baby girl you are my number one daughter as he is my number one baby boy. The sad part is that yesterday has gone, you are one day older baby girl, and yesterday will never come again and I wish I can stop the universe’s clock to have more of those smiles and shower your little tummy with kisses and hold you in my arms talking to you for hours, but yesterday was gone and so will go today and my time for you is totally shared

and slipping away. I may miss your first word, your first crawl and turning over and may be I will miss your first step too and it does break my heart baby girl. Baby girl, have faith in me, trust me, trust my love to you, trust my growing enormous love to you, trust me when I say that though the share, I will always care, I promise to be around when you need me, make memories together, have girls talk someday, get dressed up together, play with make-up and beautify one another, go wild shopping and have crazy laughs together, baby girl I do look forward for tomorrow beside you although I miss yesterday with you. Your loving mother, Me.

PARENTAL TIP Colouring could be one of your kid’s favourite hobbies and a de-stress way for a mama herself, and to save yourself the enormous amount of money paid on colouring books, we have an idea for you, Google “colouring pages,“ and print the drawings that can be coloured. That way you get to choose your kids’ favourite characters as well as save yourself a lot of money, right? Think of it the next time you are hosting a play-date and keep the kids quite for a while.

How were you nominated for your role in ‘El Gezira 2’? By the producer of the movie Hisham Abdel Khalik, the director Amr Arafa and Ahmed El Sakka. Weren’t you afraid of appearing in the second sequel of the movie? Of course, I was afraid especially that sequels haven’t proven themselves to be successful generally except for ‘The God Father’ of course (laughs). Not only that, but I loved the first part, I am a big fan and I thought it was too good to surpass, especially for me as a new comer. In order to stand among the starts who participated in the first part and find myself a spot among them was a huge challenge that was scaring me to the point that I couldn’t sleep. How was the atmosphere behind the scenes? It was fantastic honestly. It’s always great working on projects that have many challenges, in this case it was initially speaking Saidi. But what made it even more fun was working once again with Ahmed El Sakka and finally getting to work with Hend Sabry and ostaz Sherif Arafa. It’s as they say, you can’t really know someone unless you’ve worked with them, and honestly I have always admired the cast before working with them, and now, my admiration for them has at least quintupled (laughs). I’m truly honoured to have been placed amongst this all star cast and that I had the opportunity to be directed by ostaz Sherif Arafa. How did you manage to master the Saidi dialect? Mr. Abdel Naby, the secret behind all the Saidi dialect in cinema, taught me how to speak the dialect, he is a wonderful teacher and such a patient man. I took lessons with him for about two months. It was really hard but fun. I love accents and languages in general so, the more you give me challenges like that the more I enjoy it, actually, it is one of the reasons why I accepted the role. You participated before with Ahmed El Sakka in ‘Khotoot Hamra,’ do you believe in chemistry between actors? Of course there is chemistry, we both understand one another, we get along very well; he understands when I am worried or scared, and he is very supportive as an actor with me as well as the rest of the team, he is a very kind and giving actor, he likes to share his experience and helps others; he puts the actor in a comfort zone so, you never feel intimidated by him. Anyone who works with him is lucky. After a two year absence in Ramadan, are we expecting to see you in Ramadan 2015? Hopefully, I am reading scripts at the moment and still in the indecisive, insomniac phase (laughs).

Why didn’t you host the second season of ‘The Voice’ program even though it was a great success? Actually, the contract was to host 6 live shows only. The whole experience was fun, but very exhausting; I had to travel every week to Lebanon then back to Cairo, and hosting a live show is very stressful. But also one of the main reasons I didn’t host the following season was that I was busy preparing and shooting “El Gezira 2.” Who are your favourite designers and perfume? I love Yasmine Yeya, Georges Schehade, Elie Saab and Zohair Murad. As for perfumes, I love several kinds and I usually end up mixing and matching them, like CK Be, J’adore by Christian Dior and Allure by Chanel. What are the things you can’t leave home without? My music, home keys of course, perfume and chewing gum (laughs), a scarf; it’s always my savior and a light jacket. Did you ever regret supporting the 25th of January Revolution? Why should I regret supporting The 25th January Revolution? If it wasn’t for the Revolution, we wouldn’t be where we are today. It made us politically more aware and it gave us confidence in ourselves to know that our voices will be heard by the government from now on. It’s expected that we should pass through rough time after the Revolution. It’s like dilapidating a building, cleaning it’s rubbles then, finally being able to rebuild again on clean grounds. I must admit though I wasn’t there.

from day one because I was in the middle of the desert without network or any means of communication. The trip back home was very strange because it felt like I fell into the twilight zone, I came back finding cars burnt, chaotic streets, and buildings burnt, which felt a movie. Then, I found out that two of my friends got shot in Tahrir, and it was at this point where I felt that I could at least go help by providing food and medicine, but generally, I try to stay away from politics. Are you optimistic about Egypt’s future? Of course I am, and I think we should all be optimistic about the country’s future; it’s our duty to be optimistic because we need to spread the positive energy as much as we can these days to push the country’s future to a better condition by working harder, getting more creative and innovative. What is your favourite hotspot for relaxation? Nuweiba in Sinai; it’s my favourite place in the world for relaxation. I have travelled to Europe, Brazil, the Far East, and the Middle East yet, there is no place on earth like Egypt. Describe your prince charming... I want him to be funny, smart, kind hearted with everyone and loves art; “simply” a gentleman. If you are a Goodwill Ambassador, what would be the cause you fight for? I would love to do projects for the Environment, Education and Medical Care. What are you working on? I am working on myself (laughs). I love to learn new languages, sports, and skills. I always search for what’s new to make myself a better person.

Triumph of Education Over Terrorism y

oumna Gad brought to you the biography of Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani girl who was shot in the head by members of Taliban at the age of 15 for calling for girl’s rights to be educated, which led her to be one of the youngest activists in the world who call for girl’s freedom of education and equality willing to sacrifice her life for the cause she believes in.

”I am Malala” the vivid biography written by the girl, who was shot by Taliban. The biography of Malala Yousafzai is the kind of book that will leave you inspired, passionate and believing more in the power and importance of education. Malala through out the pages proves what it is like to stand out in the face of the most powerful threat worldwide, to stand out in the face of the Taliban. Because she believed that she has more rights than to be forced to wear ‘burkaa’ or be deprived from education; she fought for her rights that she almost died. Malala starts her story by stating that she never saw Taliban shooting her coming, their family used to receive threats all year long. Malala says ”but the Taliban had never come for a girl and I was more concerned they would target my father as he was always speaking out against them.” Through ”I am Malala” we are witnessing an important time in the Pakistani Modern History, we are taken by her father›s stories about Pakistan and life in their valley, stories about her Grandfather and her mother. Malala then shares her story, how education was very important to her family and her father, and how they were encouraging her to learn, read and even give speeches, how she was an A student, and how learning and education became as important as living, Owning the school, her father fought to keep the school open and not to obey The Taliban rigid rules of depriving girls from education. Reading a biography differs from reading any book because it is the kind of book in which you can relate incidents and remember

LOUNGE 42

history. The good thing about ”I am Malala” is that it is a recent biography so, you can easily google anything mentioned in the book it and check it on ”Youtube” for some videos Malala herself referred to as well. It is an interesting book to read because you are not only introduced to modern history but a whole new culture and traditions that is always amazing to explore. The book is divided into four parts, on the first page of each part you will find some poem lines written in her home language and translated to English, poems written by Pakistani poets who influenced Malala. An enjoyable part of the book is the pictures included, an amazing element that adds a lot to her story, she shares with the world, her childhood photos, places she has been to and incidents that took place in Pakistan, the photos takes you to the land of Pakistan and the SWAT valley she used to live in

and get more in touch with the reality of the story. Another important addition is the Map attached at the beginning of the book, a map of Pakistan, the valley and a detailed description of the routes taken. These added elements make biographies special to read. It is not just a story, it is a real story. ”Iam Malala” is the book to read to know more about Pakistan›s recent history, how The Taliban took over the valley she was living in, how The Taliban changed everything and how a small girl actually did threaten the Taliban that they shot her and almost killed her. ” Iam Malala ” is an inspirational story that will leave you believing more in the power of education and how passion can be so strong that some sacrifices must be taken, the story will give you a reason to stand up for what you believe in. ”Iam Malala” is a recommended book to ready by everyone.

Capricorn Dec.23 - Jan.20 This month starts out with a pretty amazing, romantic, energetic, successful, fun-filled bang on the 1st and 2nd! That cutie is so into you! You are so into them! Your job is going so well! Your outfit fits like a glove! The weather suits your taste exquisitely! Wow! Enjoy the heck out of this. Get creative, particularly with your writing, on the 5th, 6th and 7th. Wonderful! Communicate as much as possible on the 12th. Everyone you touch with your words will love it! Tread carefully at work and keep your eyes out for hiccups (or outright problems) on the 17th. You can handle them, as long as you’re aware of what’s going on! By the 21st, you can really achieve a lot, and this is really awesome. Just be sure to prioritize. What’s really, really important to you? What’s less important to you? Make some long overdue plans to see friends on the 24th or 25th. They miss you, and want an update on everything that’s happening! By the 26th, 27th and 28th, you’re in for another extended burst of wonderful. Watch your finances on the 31st.

Aquarius Jan.21 - Feb.19 One of the biggest rules in life is that you just have to keep showing up and keep trying and then take a rest and go back and try some more. That’s particularly true on the 1st and 2nd, when the key to your success is going to be plain old discipline. So forget all the fancy gadgets and the splashy workout clothes. What you need is to get up every morning, go for a run, then concentrate on your work and your relationships. The rest is noise. Some really special events, large or small, occur in your life on the 3rd and 4th. This really helps to remind you of what it’s all about. You have a couple of way out of this world great ideas on the 8th and 9th. Wow! Stellar. Tune into your emotionality on the 14th, 15th and 16th. It could be a real bonus! Watch your step at work on the 19th, 20th and 21st. Things could be a little shaky on that front, right now. Think big and feel bigger on the 26th. Watch out for a whole lot of wonderful, again, on the 31st. These are some life-changing moments, for sure.

Pisces Feb.20 - Mar.21 It looks like you have lots of friends in high places on the 1st and 2nd. This is always, always, always a good thing! Be sure you make the most of the help they offer you, whether it’s seen or unseen, and be sure to show your gratitude for their efforts. Love and happiness and success and contentment and a whole lot of other wonderful feelings are in store for you on the absolutely fantastic 5th, 6th and 7th. Be sure that you don’t spend so much time in front of the computer that you don’t get a chance to really revel in all this bounteousness! Poetry and other forms of open-ended creative pursuit are what really speak to you on the 12th and 13th. Make time to enjoy this very special energy. You’re going to be pretty concentrated on relationships on the 19th, 20th and 21st. Why not try something new, in terms of approach or attitude? It could really help. Don’t let anybody walk all over you on the 24th or 25th (or any other day). Your dreams could slide into reality pretty easily on the 31st. Let them!

Why run when you can walk? Why walk when you could saunter? That’s right: On the 1st and 2nd, speed is not the name of the game. Uh-uh. You want to keep in mind that the journey is a destination, instead. You want to take your time and smell the roses (or ocean breezes or campfires) you pass as you stroll on by. Inhale! Ah! Exhale! Relax! Repeat! Repeat! Repeat! And don’t forget to watch the sky: What do those cloud shapes remind you of? Use your amazing energy to help the people around you on the 5th, 6th and 7th. Great news at work and at home really gives you a boost on the amazing 8th and 9th. Enjoy it, enjoy it, enjoy it! Life is made up of these little magical moments, you know. Family obligations are important to meet, and you’ll feel good about having met them on the 14th, 15th and 16th.

Apr.21 - May 21

May.22 - Jun.21

Go ahead and think long and hard about everything you want and need and desire on the 1st and 2nd. These are great days for selfactualization, which is just a fancy term for knowing who you are and making choices that are right for you and remembering to stop and smell the flowers and not forgetting to work out (because your body is really, really important to your happiness!). Feel like making a change? Well, if you need some advice as to whether you should change jobs or change apartments or change the terms of your relationship, get together with your best friends and hash it all out on the 5th, 6th or 7th. (If you’d like, you can meet with friends each of these days, too!) Take things slowly on the 12th and 13th and don’t forget to spend lots of time outdoors, if you can (and you probably can). You’re endearing, and so are they, on the 19th, 20th and 21st. Enjoy!

If you’re feeling stymied and annoyed, frustrated and irritated, pent up yet sort of spent, all at once on the 1st, well, there is only one thing to do: Drop everything and go for a nice long run, or a walk, or a swim. Or to the yoga studio for an hour or two of free practice. Yep, you really want to work through the body: Get your blood moving and your spirit will follow, getting out of the funk and into a bright, airy, soaring kind of place. Tap your creativity and you’ll release a whole slew of endorphins on the 5th. By the 10th something (or someone?) gets in your way. Instead of getting mad, go for a run (walk, swim, etc.). When you’re done, you’ll appreciate the lesson this obstacle is offering to teach you. Yay! You may not get any of your projects wrapped up on the 12th or 13th. Nonetheless, you’ll have more fun than ever! What a great, great couple of days! Deal with the details on the 19th, 20th and 21st.

Jun.22 - Jul.23

Jul.24 - Aug.23

When you wake up on the 1st, you might wish you could just hit snooze and roll over and go back to sleep for another couple of hours. Well, if you can, do! How do you feel after catching up on sleep? Better, right? If you can’t hit snooze because you absolutely, positively have to be at work on time, well, that means you have all the more motivation to figure out how to better balance your life. After all, getting a good night’s sleep every night is crucial to your happiness! Your energy is great on the 5th (have you figured out how to fit in a workout and a good night’s sleep into your daily routine?). Socialize on the 10th and 11th, and you’ll really feel great! You need feedback to flourish, right now. You get some pretty awesome — and possibly very romantic — feedback on the 14th, 15th and 16th.

Ah! The ego. Yes, everybody has one. Yes, everybody needs one. And yes, everybody struggles with their ego, sometimes. Sure, it’s true that you might struggle more than the average bear, when it comes to managing your ego, generally, and for sure this is true on the 1st and 2nd. But don’t give up. You’ve got to get that ego under control, if you really want to succeed, personally and professionally, right now! But don’t worry: You’re stronger than your unruly ego, and you’ll triumph in the end. Instead of balancing your checkbook on the 5th, do something creative, like finger painting or singing in the rain. Sometimes you’ve just got to follow your mood! Focus on career building on the 10th. This will really pay dividends down the road! Something new inspires you, so explore on the 15th.

Sep.24 - Oct.23

Who says work and play don’t go hand in hand? Nobody, that’s who! Or, if someone does say it, particularly on the 1st and 2nd, you should completely, totally, utterly ignore them. Because they are oh so wrong! Work and play and productivity and pleasure are all wrapped up together in one great big beautiful ball as the month gets started. Amazing! Wonderful! Great! Reserve criticism until you’re absolutely sure about what it is that you think deserves to be criticized on the 5th, 6th and 7th. It could turn out that everything is A-Okay, in the end! And you don’t want egg on your face. Make lemonade from lemons on the 12th. It will be delicious, nutritious and all-natural. Go to yoga or a breathing class or just sit down and stretch on the 17th. Amazing news shifts things in a wonderful way on the stellar 19th, 20th and 21st.

If you are not feeling your tip-top best on the 1st or 2nd, don’t fret! Fretting will just plunge you into an even bluer mood. No: Instead, make a decision. Will you take a nap? Or go workout? Either is fine. Just make up your mind, one way or the other. Feel better afterwards? Of course you do! In fact, you’ll be in a pretty fun and romantic and generally happy place as soon as the 3rd and 4th. Enjoy! Focus on defining — and improving — your relationships on the 8th and 9th. Defining and improving are often more closely related than you might think. After all, you can’t change something you’re doing, before you know what you’re doing. It helps! Flexibility is the key to everything, in life, so be sure to stay flexible and fluid on the 14th, 15th and 16th. Some amazingly wonderful developments bring beauty, happiness, romance and joy to your life on the 22nd and 23rd.

Oct.24 - Nov.22

Nov.23 - Dec.22

If it seems like the whole world is smiling — from the birds and bees to your boss — on the 1st and 2nd, well, that might be because they are all in a terrific mood. Sometimes the vibes are just plain good! And this is going to really buoy your day, too, so enjoy all this good energy. It doesn’t happen all the time, and when it does, it deserves to be noticed. You are in a mighty romantic frame of mind on the 5th, 6th and 7th, and you should definitely let the object of your affections in on this. They will be awfully pleased. As will you! Temptation is always there, but on the 12th, it might be more pronounced than usual. Choose your partner wisely, and make good choices about what you’re willing to stake on that temptation. If you want a raise, ask for it carefully on the 17th or 18th. Sure, you can get what you want, but you need to be politic about it.

Need to save money on the 1st and 2nd? Well, why not skip all the complicated stuff and just try a few simple tricks, like bringing a bag lunch to work? After all, that’s surely going to save you money, but it is also going to be healthier for you, too. Which is a long-term savings, you know! By the 5th, you’re ready to see meaning all around you, from the open parking place to the beautiful flowers that pop up on your front lawn without you having done anything to plant them. Yes, life is full of freedom and bounty! While you’re planning your next project on the 10th and 11th, don’t skip the gym and overeat instead (that would really be a less-than-ideal move!). Instead, process the extra stress with the help of a really great couple of workouts. Be true to your mood on the 15th, rather than trying to keep up with someone else’s energy levels.

Your friends don’t like him; if your close 2 friends don’t like your partner or tell you “he is not your type” then, maybe you need to take a deeper more mature look at the relationship and see what is beyond the butterflies you feel.

want to call, one of the most important things of a partner is reaching him when you aren’t feeling well to make things better and put it back in the right place. Of course, it’s ok not to be the person to reach when you both are having a fight but other than that he should be the person you feel most comfortable with. He doesn’t like or respect your family, if 5 he starts criticizing and picking on your family members from the first meeting then,

He is not faithful; seeing him with another 7 girl or lying about where he has been last night is a big turn off and a very bad sign. If you are thinking about a serious relationship with that person, you better reconsider.

You have nothing in common; its ok if you 8 both have your own interests in a way that makes you complete one another, but

make sure that this relationship is not going anywhere.
