California is the largest producer of wine in the U.S. It’s also not surprisingly the largest producer of grapes. In our tricounties, two of them have a hand in the winery and vineyard industry. El Dorado is the leader with 68 combinations of wineries and vineyards. And Placer with a total of 29. The climate here brings forth a nice variety of wines and of course each vineyard brings its own depth of flavor and unique style.

As you can see below Red Zinfandel is most common with over 450 types found in these counties. You can find these wines through-out this area or maybe even further. However, the richest way to experience them is by going to the source, so that you can taste the wines with their perspective, get to know the culture and vision, plus possibly even see the land.
