State Capitol
As you know, Sacramento is the capitol of California. Its magnificent building, the State Capitol, serves as the center of California government and as a museum. Sacramento has been the capital since 1854 and is actually the 6th capital of California. The original design includes all three branches of government: Executive, Legislative, and Judicial. Eventually the Judicial branch moved a few blocks away.
