Dear valued patron, We are excited to announce to you, a former CSO subscriber, our 2016/17 season. For our 2016/17 Barnett & Company Masterworks Series, Music Director Kayoko Dan has selected some of the best of the classical repertoire along with a world premiere. Here are some of the highlights: • • • • • • •

Opening Night with Strauss’ Don Juan and Rachmaninoff’s 2nd Piano Concerto Beethoven and Beethoven-inspired music, including his Choral Fantasy, and a modern work by composer Kendra D’Ercole, which will be a world premiere Tchaikovsky’s 5th Symphony and Elgar’s Cello Concerto with Joshua Roman Dvořák’s 7th Symphony and Hummel’s Trumpet Concerto featuring Metropolitan Opera’s Billy Hunter Bartok’s Concerto for Orchestra and a work by American composer James Stephenson, featuring our very own Concertmaster, Holly Mulcahy Two Mozart works paired with Mahler’s 4th Symphony Season closer with Debussy’s La Mer, Britten’s Four Sea Interludes, and works by two living composers

For our 2016/17 Luken Holdings Pops Series, Principal Pops Conductor Bob Bernhardt has selected some concerts from around the world as well as out of this world! Subscriptions start at only $95. Concerts include: • • • • •

Latin jazz greats, the Mambo Kings Our annual Home for the Holidays concert Big Band Fever and the top hits of the swing era Irish Fiddle phenomenon, Eileen Ivers The best music from your favorite Sci-Fi and Superheroes shows and films

We are also thrilled to announce the return of grand opera with Madame Butterfly in two performances, March 23 and 25, 2017. 2016/17 subscribers have pre-sale access to tickets for this special event. We’re also bringing a family friendly concert to Memorial Auditorium, Cirque de la Symphonie, and only subscribers can purchase pre-sale tickets before the general public. Subscriptions are also available for our Chamber Series at the Historic Read House for only $90 for four concerts, featuring works by Bartok, Ravel, Respighi, Mozart, Haydn, and two works by local composers Douglas Hedwig and Jonathon McNair. As a priority patron, you are receiving this season brochure mailing two weeks before our regular subscription mailing, so you have a headstart at ticket access and best seats! We invite you to reactivate your subscription to ensure you have seats to all of your favorite concerts, plus get access to Madame Butterfly and Cirque de la Symphonie tickets before the general public. Don’t forget that as a series subscriber, you receive free and easy exchanges, discounts off regular single ticket prices (special events do not apply), guaranteed same seats (Masterworks and Pops Series), and first chance at purchasing tickets to special events. We’ll also pay the Tivoli Theatre Preservation Fee (a savings of $2.00 per ticket) for subscribers for the entire season. Thank you for being such an important part of the CSO family in the past.
