What’s on?
This winter, enjoy festive food, traditional music and creative crafts against a backdrop of regency splendour. This year we’re pleased to host a series of festive events at Pittville Pump Room, providing yuletide sparkle for the Cheltenham community. From artisan markets to storytelling with Mrs Claus, we have events for all ages to enjoy the festive season.

Christmas lights switch on Thursday November 25 12pm-8pm Free admission
Christmas at Pittville Pump Room will launch with the switch on of our magical Christmas lights decorating the regency building and picturesque park. Join us for an evening of family fun including live music, artisan market, festive food and some surprises along the way. 12pm-8pm Christmas Artisan Market 5pm-5.45pm: Christmas carol singers perform traditional carols 5.45pm-6.30pm and 6.45pm-7.30pm: Vintage vocalist Betsy Harmony sings Christmas classics 6.30pm: Christmas lights switch on

This December, Pittville Pump Room will be transformed into a treasure trove of artisanal products. Our inaugural Christmas artisan market will feature original and stylish products created by local artisans, including handmade gifts, jewellery, home accessories and seasonal produce. This is the ideal opportunity to purchase some unique Christmas gifts or a treat for yourself. Festive offers will be available at the Heritage Café and there will be live entertainment on market days.

Festive afternoon teas This Christmas, we’re hosting a series of limited edition festive afternoon teas in the splendid Pittville Pump Room. The building has a long history of hosting decadent receptions, and Christmas is the perfect time to carry on this tradition. All afternoon teas will include a selection of finger sandwiches, homemade scones served with jam and clotted cream, traditional cakes, mince pies, and a freshly brewed pot of tea or coffee. Alternative menus to suit a range of dietary requirements are available on request.

The Magic of Christmas storyteller sessions with afternoon tea Sunday December 12 and 19, 12.30pm £25 per adult and £7.50 per child. Add a glass of traditional Gluhwein mulled wine or Prosecco for an additional £4.95 per person. Suitable for children aged 7 and under.
This magical afternoon with Mrs Claus is sure to capture the magic of Christmas. Your little ones will be taken on a wonderful, imaginary adventure with the story of ‘Little Robin Red Vest’. Meanwhile the grown-ups can listen while indulging in a festive afternoon tea.

Learn how to make a beautiful, candlelit centrepiece that will make your Christmas table setting even more special. Local florist Martine will demonstrate how to make a festive centrepiece that looks and smells great. You’ll then be guided through the process of making your own, using seasonal foliage and a range of decorations.

Why not use this festive season to learn some new skills? From fabulous wreaths, to stunning centerpiece for your Christmas table, to culinary delights or vintage hair up-dos our workshops provide the opportunity to embrace your inner creativity. All of our sessions are suitable for people of all abilities, including absolute beginners, and materials are provided unless otherwise specified.

All materials are included. No previous experience needed. This workshop is suitable for all abilities.
Learn how to create a vintageinspired hairdo in time for the festive party season. After watching a demo, you’ll be guided through the process of creating curls, up-dos and victory rolls. The class will be led by the expert team of vintage stylists at Le Keux Vintage Salon, and is suitable for absolute beginners or those wanting to perfect their skills.
Add a touch of charm to your home, or create a truly personal gift for your loved ones by creating your own Christmas wreath. Cheltenham’s leading florists, Bumblebeez, will teach you how to make your own masterpiece using a variety of materials including dried fruit and berries, cinnamon, baubles and feathers.

Take the stress out of hosting Christmas parties with easy to create, crowd pleasing, tasty canapés. Using festive seasonal products, our resident chef will demonstrate techniques, discuss flavour combinations and provide presentation tips. You’ll create your own array of delicious canapés to enjoy yourself or take home with you along with full recipe cards.
