2013
Theatre with heart and soul – it’s what makes the Chemainus Theatre Festival Experience so alive, appealing and exciting. Welcome to the 2013 Season! We’ll burst into celebration and laughter and delve into mystery and redemption through well-told stories on our powerful and intimate stage. The diverse line-up ignites with energy through the power of nostalgia and evocative memory, journeys to emotional depths as family heroes endure impossible situations, hunts for immortality through webs of intrigue and rejoices with wild wit as clever friends help comically star-crossed lovers. This year we will explore and nourish the human spirit alongside dedicated, creative and exciting theatre professionals from all over Canada who join our theatre family right here in the middle of beautiful Vancouver Island! We will investigate our life of stories together with the addition of two themed Festivals in the spring and fall, Playwright Pairings throughout the year, ongoing Kidzplay programming and educational opportunities for the Island community. Add to it all the fantastic food at the Playbill Dining Room and artisan’s charming work in the Gallery Gift Shop and see why Chemainus shines - a cultural jewel by the sea!
