“Dwell in Possibility.” Emily Dickinson
fter eight wonderful years at the Chemainus Theatre Festival, it is with great enthusiasm that I welcome you to my first official season – a season built on inspired artistry, a search for the all embracing, well told story and an unrelenting quest for hope. When Walt Wingfield returns to his farm and uproots laughter, Strindberg explores a family’s last chance or Scrooge’s grimace is altered by a joyful spirit he can not shake, we are reminded this season of possibility. We’ve got all kinds of classics, six Canadian authors, exciting new work and Nicola Cavendish directing. This year, we’re also expanding our Kidzplay programming to introduce accessible Discovery Programs for even more ages! It’s an exciting season drawn from a wide range of plays – all told by some of the most exciting artists you’ll find in Canada! This season is designed for you, our patrons, who deserve diversity, pleasure and a good time! This shared act of creation includes a great meal, a stroll through the gallery, and a fantastic show – it’s like a good conversation with great friends. Join us in our seaside village. Get together, dwell in possibility.
