David S. Craig has given us the best kind of gift full of Rich Resonance. If we can all have hope at home, there will be hope for the World.
NICOLA CAVENDISH Director
DIRECTOR’S NOTES I’ll be brief. A very well crafted play. A team of fine actors, two of them young at heart and at the beginning of their career AND the others, well seasoned, a lifetime spent in the theatre. Comedy with depth. The best kind of laughter and there’s a bonus. We have the Real Lorna Bingham’s granddaughter on our stage. And Babies. What miracles they are. The perfume of their skin. Their dear little fingers. Nicola Cavendish was raised in the Okanagan Valley in the village of KALEDEN where she learned how to count clouds under an apricot tree and slide down grassy orchard slopes in the summertime on huge pieces of cardboard. In 1975 she graduated from UBC’s Theatre Dept and six months later she began a professional career with the Vancouver Playhouse Theatre Company. Since then she has performed across Canada, from Montreal to Calgary and everything in between. Nicola was also at the Shaw Festival for four seasons and in Blithe Spirit on Broadway and in Washington DC. She is best known for Shirley Valentine which she will perform at Arena Stage in Montreal and in Toronto this winter. She has directed The Mousetrap for the Arts Club Theatre, Garage Sale for the Belfry Theatre and Candida for Chemainus Theatre. R
