MANAGING DIRECTOR’S NOTES Ahoy theatre goers! It’s the tail end of sailing season but our waters are still dotted with white sails scooting about the Gulf Islands. That is, when they have a little wind.

RANDAL HUBER

Managing Director

Sailing a theatre organization is quite similar in that you need a little wind to keep it moving. One of the sources of a steady breeze for us is the Chemainus Theatre Endowment Fund. Endowment funds are a long term investment that helps build financial health and security. The capital is held in perpetuity and each year the income generated from the fund is available for distribution back to support the work of the Theatre. As sailing season winds down, it’s time to wind up and float our annual endowment campaign and ask you to support us.

“Supporting the Endowment will help steady our journey for many seasons to come.”

Once again, we are pleased to share that all donations are eligible for matching contributions by the Department of Canadian Heritage. The theatre has navigated a few course corrections in its first 25 seasons. Supporting the endowment will help steady our journey for many seasons to come. We encourage you to visit us online at www.chemainustheatre.ca to learn more. But now, please sit back and prepare for the hilarious antics of Bertie Wooster; sure to require Jeeves to be at his resourceful best.

Come to think of it, the endowment is a little like the theatre’s own Jeeves; a watchful eye to support us and smooth any stormy seas. Anchors aweigh…
