FURNITURE Unfold Carbon 60 Without Borders Hide & Seek

UNFOLD Design by Lee, Chih-Hsin & Chen, Shi-Ying Taiwan Young Designers’ exhibition, 2013

2013 PORTFOLIO - 10

Concept Suffering from salary freeze and soring house prices, tenants in the city in order to save money are forced to live in low-price 5-square meter small rooms. Beds occupy a large part in the room and reduce even more the available space. At this point, multifunctional furniture will be of great importance. Learning how to have a good living quality in small spaces has become a major issue for tenants. UnFold is a freely changeable furniture, thanks to an easy and intuitive operation, it can create various living scenarios with different arrangements. Power distribution, lighting and storage complement each other harmoniously in the design. The bright color inside the mattress represents a person’s passion, “unleash the inner you, to turn the lonely urban life a bit more friendly and colorful.

2013 PORTFOLIO - 52

Concept This theme, zoo apartment, is focus on building the relations between the strangers. Encouraging people to communicate with strangers without hesitation and in more natural way. When walking with our pets, they always can open our chat with other people. According to this observation, I believe that pets have the power allowing to build the communication between strangers. Zoo apartment is a place, community, for everyone’s pets and the people living together. Changing the original nursing house into zoo apartment, the elderly is no longer living in boring but to become a zoo keeper to help taking care of others’ pets. In addition, the pet owner will be given the opportunities appreciating and sharing their families to the elderies.

Introduction

Nowadays, with the rapid development of technology, the more convenient communication we have in digital world but the less time we contact with others in the real world. Most of people are not willing to chat with strangers, especially with the elderly. In the nursing house, a day for the elderies is very regular. They sit in front of the window or their bedroom without anything to do. This situation could be able to let them sick. They need somone to talk to and care.

Design by by CBMI http://cbmitw.com/cbmi/ 2010

2013 PORTFOLIO - 60

Introduction Deep Consciousness to Sub-Consciousness Deep Light, Far Distance “This is only light because I demand it to be.” To start with light, and to finish with senses, to seek for the complete sense of right now where the lights and sounds meet… The altar of the senses, contemporary illusions… I exist here, and only here. Directing all the lights to the viewers, all the frequencies to piercing the eardrum… The installations forced near, and far upon, invites the viewers to flow and to get lost. Memories and thinking scattered under the beam. Lost limps flow around in the space. CBMI attempts to show this current moment coming from void, and floating in the air by this piece, and to seek for the extreme real at the brink of senses.
