2.0 FIRE PROTECTION AND PREVENTION SYSTEM
2.1 Fire Protection Tank ●
It is designed specifically to supply water for the residential, commercial and industrial building which is usually called domestic water tanks.
●
It can provide sufficient demand of water for fire fighter during the emergency of fire.
●
The water is usually stored in concrete underground tank.
●
Most building codes have at least three levels which are Light Hazard , Ordinary Hazard and High Hazard for residential buildings, factory and aircraft hangers respectively.
2.2 Emergency Assembly Area ●
Assembly area is a safe zone away from the building for evacuation during the emergency of fire and must be spacious enough to fit tenants and the emergency response team.
●
On the route to the assembly area is not allow obstacles along the way and It should not too close or too far away from the emergency site in order to hold all the structure’s occupants safely
2.3 Control Room ●
The nerve center for the building
●
The control room consists of the fire protection systems, fire pump, secondary water supply, air-handling systems, stairwell door controls, communications and elevator controls.
2.4 Fire Hydrant ● ●
A fire hydrant is a connection point which supply water for firefighters. It can only provide present pressure for water supply
Ground Floor Plan (N.T.S)
Access way minimum 6 Meters
Ground Floor Plan (N.T.S)
According to UBBL, maximum 90 Meters hydrant to hydrant and it located not more than 45 Meters from the fire brigade access
30 Meters
2.5 Emergency Exit Sign ● ●
To help in a public facility identify escape routes, find firefighting equipment and the location of the closest emergency exit during the fire or other emergency. The sign will be permanent illuminated due to the invisibility will be reduced during the fire or smoke.
Since the emergency exit sign is used for a building which bigger than the private house. And the habitats that I designed not only for family but also for some visitors. Hence it is a need and according to modern codes invariably specify at least two sets of stairs
2.6 Fire Extinguisher ● ● ●
The fire extinguisher is an essential instrument used to control or decrease the spread of fire or in cases of an emergency. It is designed as a portable equipment that releases gas, water, foam or other material to extinguish a fire. Fire extinguisher shall be easily accessible for people using. ● Fast and efficiency to avoid and decrease the risks of injury.
9KG ABC Powder Fire Extinguisher New For Residential All universal Use with Bomba Cert Register
2.7 Fire Alarm ● ●
Alarm appliance will be activated automatically from smoke and heat detectors or may also be activated via manual fire alarm activation instruments such as fire switch or fire trigger once the smoke, fire, carbon monoxide or other emergencies are present. It is located above 1200 mm from the manual break glass and about 2700 mm from ground level.
2.8 Fire Sprinkler â—? â—?
Each sprinkler has an open compartment that holds a friable heat-sensing quartz build which containing a colored liquid (normally is red) that seals the water inlet. It is different with other instrument, the alarm will be detected only when the water starts flowing.
Pre-action system is used at the studio since there have a lots materials and books would be damaged by water.
Wet pipes are used at the common area from living room to bed room.
2.9 Smoke Detector ● ● ●
It is an essential component serves as first procedure in active fire system before the fire alarm control panel is automatically activated. It has ability to identify a fire while it is still in its incipient. To provide additional chance for emergency personnel to respond and control the developing fire before severe injury occurs.
First Alert Photoelectric Smoke Alarm
2.9 Heat Detector ●
Heat detectors will operate when the heat sensitive eutectic alloy reaches the eutectic point changing state from a solid to a liquid. ● The fixed temperature point for electrically connected heat detectors is 58°C (136.4°F) . ● It is installed in high-ceiling areas where smoke may not trigger smoke alarms.

4.0 ELECTRICITY
Local sub-station 11kV to 400V
4.1 Electrical Room ● ● ● ● ●
An electrical room is a room or space in a building dedicated to electrical equipment. The size of the electrical room is usually proportional to the size of the building. Large buildings may have a main electrical room and subsidiary electrical rooms. Electrical equipment may be for power distribution equipment, or for communications equipment. Electrical rooms typically house the following equipment: Electric switchboards, distribution boards, circuit breakers and disconnects, electric meter, backup batteries in a battery room, and distribution frames.
4.2 Lighting ● Different environment need different lighting to provide sufficiency lights for users ● Lighting also can enhance the spatial experience and regulate emotional mood. ● For example, install garden light in the garden can provide sense of relaxing. Here are different types of lighting used in this habitats. 4.2.1 Wall Light 4.2.2 Down Light 4.2.3 Garden Light 4.2.4 Fluorescent Light 4.2.5 LED Solar Street Light

5.0 HVAC- HEATING, VENTILATION AND AIR CONDITION
5.1 Central air-conditioning Unit ● This type is suitable in large open spaces to provide cooling effect and cool air flow from four directions 5.2 Split air-conditioning Unit ● This unit can be found in the room’s wall. It is suitable for a room or an area required different power to fulfil in different air condition. 5.3 Outdoor Unit ● It is a unit connected with indoor air-conditioning unit and usually located in the rear or side of the building where the heat from inside the building is dispersed. 5.4 Ceiling Fan ● A ceiling fan allows energy-efficient cooling, and can supplement or even replace conventional air conditioning depending on a home’s location. 5.5 Ventilation Fan ● Ventilation fan can refresh the air in any space to provide high indoor air quality and also can remove the unpleasant smell and excessive moisture. ● Introduce outside air to keep the air circulating of indoor buildings and prevent indoor air from stagnating. 5.6 AHU (Air Handling Unit) ● Air Handling unit is a device used to regulate and circulate air as part of a heating, ventilating, air conditioning (HVAC) system. ●
It collect chilled air from chiller room and then supply them to all the rooms
5.7 PS Ceiling Fan â—?
This fan can circulate in big space efficiently with minimum noise pollution while operating (less than 43dB).
â—?
Energy saving up to 90%, compared to conventional solution.
â—?
I choose this kind of ceiling fan for my living room but also a conversation area for visitor or guests because this place is a 3 storey height interior space and giving a large spatial experience to the users.
