Wow, I cannot believe that 2015 is coming to an end. Thank you all for allowing me to serve you this year, and I cannot wait to see what awaits us in the New Year! I know that sounds cheesy, but I am so excited to see the culmination of our terms together! Make sure to mark your calendars for January 30th and February 13th! These are some super important dates, and ones that I hope to see you on. 

 

January 30th: DEC at Lone Star College Cypress Center– 1:30 PM. Elect your 20162017 LTG! February 13th: Houston Food Bank Visit PS: Buy your divisional shirts! I have 15 left that need a home!

District Updates Monthly Reports due on the 5th MONTHLY REPORTS, NEWSLETTERS, AND ARTICLES ARE ALL DUE ON THE FIFTH. Make sure to mail a physical copy to District Secretary Lily Nguyen and please CC me, Regional Advis- Mail them to: er, Judy Pomorski, and your Kiwanis Adviser with a Lily Nguyen, District Secretary copy. T-O Scholarship Hey seniors! Are you stressed about college? Did Santa not bring any scholarships? Have no fear, T-O Kiwanis has scholarships for all seniors. However, you must be attending DCON, since that is when the interviews are! Email me for the application, or Google “TO Kiwanis Scholarship” to find the application. They are due by February 1st!

February 5th: Monthly Report Due February 12rh– Candidacy Forms Due February 13th– Divisional Houston Food Bank Visit (1-4PM)

District Updates District Project Stay updated on the Conversation on Conservation by checking out the District Website for ideas! There is not a new post every time, but the current post is updated monthly with ideas on how to get involved with the project. Remember, its #SaveOrToTheGrave.

TOTFU Funds are DUE Make sure to turn in your Trick or Treat for UNICEF funds with the Eliminate Gift Form. These are due by the end of the year, December 31st! If you turn them in, and reach a certain amount, you qualify for a patch at DCON. So make sure that your donations are in before the year is out. Thank you to everyone who has participated in Trick or Treat for UNICEF! You guys are making a difference in the world and in people’s lives.

National Pancake Day This year IHOP National Pancake day is March 8th, 2016 Kiwanis family members can now register online (here) to be a volunteer at their local IHOP on March 8th. Members that sign up for shifts will be provided with talking points for greeting customers, explaining why IHOP is having a free pancake day. This is a great opportunity to serve within your club by helping the Children's Miracle Network. The Children’s Miracle Network is one of Key Club’s preferred charities! 5

Conversation on Conservation: Participate in our District Project this year, by helping reuse, reduce and recycle! You can find out more information by heading to the T-O Website, but just a headsup that updates are not automatically shown on the home dashboard of the website. Instead, go to “Projects and Events� on the navigation bar. This will take you to the post that contains activities for your club to do each month!

In March, completion forms will be posted online for you to fill out. If you meet certain criteria, you will receive a District Project patch at DCON!


Governor’s Project: K-Family Konnections. Stay connected with the K-family throughout the year! This year, we’ve had the opportunity to connect with: 
