Meet the Cast

Tommy Foster (Aslan/ Professor Digory Kirke)

toured as Aslan in the TheatreworksUSA tour of this very musical over twenty years ago in the months following the tragic events of 9/11, and it remains one of the most meaningful experiences of his professional career. He is honored to be re-visiting the world of Narnia here in Charlotte, where he began studying acting in 1993 in the Children’s Theatre of Charlotte Ensemble Company. After finishing high school at the NC School of the Arts and earning his BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Michigan, he performed in regional houses up and down the East Coast, internationally on the Norwegian Crown, in commercials for Nickelodeon and Food Lion, and won a Bistro Award from Backstage for his solo cabaret THE METHOD TO MY MADNESS. After earning his MFA in Classical Acting from Shakespeare Theatre Company’s Academy for Classical Acting, Tommy returned home to the Carolinas where he has made a home as an actor, director, and teacher creating much of his favorite work right here - having played Miss Trunchbull in ROALD DAHL’S MATILDA THE MUSICAL, Gerald in ELEPHANT & PIGGIE’S “WE ARE IN A PLAY!”, the Cowardly Lion in JOURNEY TO OZ; directing a tour of LIARS, and the summer youth productions of CHICAGO, EVITA, SWEENEY TODD, and THE TEMPEST.
