MAKING THEATRE MAGIC... All of the elements of the show from set design to costume design, lighting, props and sound, are created at Children’s Theatre of Charlotte by a talented team of artists. Together, we bring stories like this one to life through the magic of theatre. 8
SET DESIGN Anita J Tripathi’s set design utilizes ladders, scaffolding, and other pieces to create the “in progress” environment that the actors live in as the story unfolds. PROPS Cassie Ward and Felix Thompson of our in-house Props team are responsible for curating pieces AND handcrafting some like the amazing portable pipe organ below. The first model takes shape!
SOUND OFF!
What’s it made of? The body is mostly plywood. The chassis and axle are modified from a garden wagon. The pipes are pvc pipes with cutouts. Director Steven Levine tests the wind machine, one of many unique items used to create sound effects in the show. 9
