Chiao Chiao Genre/ Service Design, UIUX Date/ January 2018 Team Members/ Service Design, UX, Research/ Ching-Chun Shen, Ting-YU Tsan Visual Identity, UI/ Ching-Chun Shen 3D Model/ Ting-YU Tsan Coding/ Chin-Guan Lim, Sheng-Chuan Chou, Yu-Lun Hsu, Ange Ko Concept/ Chiao Chiao, an app design about social and game, allows youngers from different countries to socialize and exchange the cultural knowledge with each other deeply through the game of AR virtual treasures-exchanging. In the game, Chiao Chiao uses the countries and cultures as the social topic when the users interact with other users. Additionally, in order to enhance the user’s interest and purposef of the game, Chiao Chiao combines the AR virtual treasures-exchanging. During the game’s process, users can use the AR virtual platform and throw the AR cultural treasures on it. It can not only help the users to share their cultural features and value to other users but also let the users have an interesting and unique experience during the social.

After downloading the app, users sign in, set their personal background and then create their own characters.

With this App, users can share their perspectives on the treasures of their countries on their home page.

If users have enough points, they also can use their points to unlock the treasures and get them.

While the accumulation of treasure’s numbers achieves a certain amount in the game, it will push the user’s motivation to meet each other in real life.

When both user and his/her friend get the treasures, they can start to play the game.

Users will start to go to get the treasures and then they can turn on the app’s function of AR guiding to find the way by themselves. Additionally, app will also show the distance between the user and the treasure to let users know.

While users arrive at destination, they can use app to scan the item and then get the treasure. Through the game rules, users can realize their country’s treasures deeply. While users get the treasure, their friends will receive the notification.

Tsao Shan Tieh Tieh Genre/ Service Design, Graphic Design, Information Design Date/ June 2017 Team Members/ Ching-Chun Shen/ Yu-Heng Lin/ Keng-Yu Lin/ Hung-Yu Chou Concept/ The purpose of this project is to provide a new experience to the tourists who have the travel in the community of Yang Ming Shan. Therefore, Tsao Shan Tieh Tieh is coming, we design the new process of traveling experience for the tourists. The goal of Tsao Shan Tieh Tieh is to enhance the value of travel deeply and let the tourists want to travel in Yang Ming Shan again. Therefore, we design a touring map and a new touring route. In the new route, we choose 6 stores that the tourists can visit. They are not only the stores but also the historical sites. We hope that the tourists will get more information of cultures and histories through the new design, and have the special experience. Finally, we look forward that the tourists will be back here again and share this unique memory and experience to more people.

Persona Tourist The tourists who live in the Taipei love nature and like to go hiking to relax in the weekend. Age/ 25-50 Goal/ 1.Enjoy in the natural enviroment. 2.Get more information about Yang Ming Shan. 3.Feel more comfortable in tour.

Pain Point

The stores in Yang Ming Shan let tourists feel a sense of distance. Besides, the tourists don't know that it is free to visit the stores.

Goal

The extra information of Yang Ming Shan is not enough and available for tourists to get on Internet or in the community.

“Enhance their value of the tour, let them want to travel here again�. 1. Let the tourists learn more knowledge of cultures and histories in Yang Ming Shan to deepen their experience of travel. 2. Because the tourists want to realize this community, they will travel in more places initiatively.

Design Item

Touring Map Tourists can follow the tour route on the front side of map, and realize the knowledge of the cultures and histories about differents sites on the back side.

Postcards Tourists will collect 6 different postcards in different sites. They can tear off the stickers from the postcards and stick them on the map to make map be more valuable.

Giftrust Genre/ Service Design, Social Design Date/ March 2017 Team Members/ Li-Chih Wu (Doctor)/ Yung-Ching Yang (Occupational therapist)/ Suthasinee Thong-On (Physical therapist)/ Eui-Chul Jung (Designer)/ Yen-Ju Hung (Designer)/Ching-Chun Shen (Designer)/ Viktoria Krausert (Designer) Concept/ This project is about the issue of Taiwan’s homecare system done in ASLIS Workshop and the members from different countries and background have to work together in these 5 days. The purpose of this project is to discover the pain point in the homecare system now. Therefore, we design the new service process according to what we found. The spirit of Giftrust is “From stranger to family, from one person to a team”. We hope to help the homecare team to build up the sweat and good relationship with the patient and the patient's family members while they contact at the first time. In new service process, we wish that the family members could not only realize the information about homecare system and home caregiver's background, but also learn the knowledge of disease quickly. Finally, we expect that the family member will feel like as a part of the team members.

E-Planter Genre/ UIUX Date/ June 2017 Designer/ Ching-Chun Shen Concept/ E-Planter is a smartphone’s application based on the attention restoration using the treatment like the horticultural therapy. It combines the horticultural therapy with the device of brain wave, and the patients of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder or the patients of attention deficit disorder can be trained through this application. Before the game starts, users will be recommended with different levels after their evaluation based on the attention restoration theory of horticultural therapy. During game’s process, users must concentrate on their mind in order to provide the growth factors of the plants, such as the sunshine, temperature, moisture and nutrient. Therefore, through this application, users can see more clearly about their situation of concentration and tend to get trainings to improve their situation.

You may start to think highly of your environment design all over your life space.Taiwan’s talented designers are doing extremely well in many international competitions, but people are not thinking highly of our own local design. There is a great change in times’ trend, and the design industry undergoes instantaneous changes as well. Under the circumstances, how should education and teaching method of personal training be improved along the times? Hopefully through the investigation, we can let people of any age know design, enjoy design, and create their own design. Thus, ROOMER is coming. We hold an exhibition and invite the viewers that they can come and use our app design. In the process of using, they can decorate their rooms in their personal style and then store it. After the exhibition, we use their design to design a poster, and sent to them as a souvenir.

Dietary Elements Genre/ Book Design, Graphic Design, Illustration, Material Art Date/ June 2016 Team Members/ Designers/ Ching-Chun Shen, Chi Ying Cheng Concept/ Dietary Elements is a set of reference books that we can all catch on to. With the arousal of health awareness, Dietary Elements combine the ancient Chinese five elements and modern healthy diets. The core of our design lies in thoughtfulness, safety and innovation. In these books, we will recommend the readers that what kind of ingredients they can have in each month in order to make their bodies healthy. Therefore, there are 130 kinds of ingredients in these books totally, and all ingredients are produced in Taiwan. In addition, we present tips to ingredients purchasing and nutrition value in a reader-friendly way. By combining illustration with neat calligraphy shape-line, it makes it easier for readers to develop a healthy body constitution and to eat better to keep good body's constitution.

Good Morning Tainan Genre/ Booklet Design, Illustration Date/ July 2016 Designer/ Ching-Chun Shen Concept/ For the visitors who come to Tainan for the first time. How could I introduce the features of Tainan to them? I was born and raised in Tainan, and the breakfast in Tainan is very different than other cities. The most important thing in morning is breakfast. The residents in Tainan have beef soup, rice dumpling, soup noodle, salty congee, rice pudding, bowl rice cake and fire grilled sandwich as their breakfast and then they will have the energy to work. Therefore, I design a booklet to introduce our traditional breakfast which contains the information of ingredients, the store’s opening hour and the store’s address. However, I also design the schedule that what visitor can have in the whole week. Thence, let's have the breakfast in Tainan now.

I think that traditional market is the one of important treasures in our country. Therefore, I have designed a booklet to introduce the features of it and hope that more and more people realize it. There are three special values of traditional Taiwanese market, such as unique food, atmosphere of humanity and historical memories. Therefore, would you like to seek different lifestyle? Let’s have the wonderful journey in the traditional market now.

01.Unique food Traditional markets have variety of specialty Taiwanese foods, such as steamed bun, rice cake and spring roll. They can only be bought in traditional markets. People can have a wonderful gourmet experience.

02.Atmosphere of humanity In traditional markets, people can interact with the vendors and bargain with them. This never happens in the supermarket. The customers also can build up a good relationship with the vendors through the interaction, and have a unique experience in the traditional market.

3.Historical memories There are many traditional markets in Taiwan. They exist for hundreds of years, and have a lot of historical culture, buildings and environment. They are a precious treasure in Taiwan.

Top 5 Peaks of Taiwan Genre/ Poster Design Date/ July 2016 Designer/ Ching-Chun Shen Concept/ Taiwan was called Formosa and Taiwan is the fourth height island on the planet. We have many beautiful view and natural environment, that is why I want to introduce it to the others. These mountains are not only the beautiful scenery but also our precious treasures in Taiwan. The purpose of the poster design is to introduce the knowledge of Taiwan’s mountains. Many people know their name, but they don’t really understand the detail about the background and information of these mountains. Therefore, that is the main reason that I design this poster.

Genre/ Poster Design Date/ July 2016 Designer/ Ching-Chun Shen Concept/ In Taiwan, the Chianan Plain is the largest plain of the island, and this area also supplies many main crops like wet rice, peanuts, corn, sweet potatoes to the whole people in Taiwan. Therefore, this area is so important and meaningful for Taiwan. However, I saw this place accidently while I went home by train. And then, I thought what a beautiful place, but no one ever notices. The Chianan Plain is like the cloak of Taiwan. The paddy field separated by the roads form the beauty of asymmetry. Therefore, I was amazed by the beauty of the Chianan plain. The purpose of the poster design is to let the Taiwanese know that we have this beautiful and fertile treasure in Taiwan. Therefore, I design the visual by vector creation to express the comfortable and peaceful feeling to the viewers.

Smell Map in YunTech Genre/ Graphic Design, Information Design, Interactive Design Date/ July 2017 Designer/ Ching-Chun Shen Concept/ The purpose of this project is to design the personal experience map according to the daily path in YunTech. In the campus, there are many different kinds of smells for me from the dorm to the classroom, so I choose “Smell� as my map’s topic. In addition, I combine the speed of walking with the emotional feeling to represent the different smells in this map design. Therefore, user can see the different number of speed and the different color of emotion on this map. Moreover, I choose 6 different kinds of smells including shampoo, soil, grass, fertilizer, food and river, and store them in different bottles. These smells will correspond the graphic on the map. Finally, I hope that this design can make the users experience and smell them.

The Night of Glove Puppetry Genre/ Poster Design Date/ November 2016 Designer/ Ching-Chun Shen Concept/ Glove Puppetry, also known as hand puppet show, every Taiwanese regards it as our important traditional culture and memory in their young times. Glove Puppetry is one of the traditional artistry in Taiwan. Glove Puppetry is related to the religious belief and the value of the culture closely in Taiwan. At the time of the performance, a gloved hand enters the puppet's costume and makes it perform. “The Night of Glove Puppetry” is a significant performance of culture and art in my university and the purpose of the poster design is to express the spirit of glove puppetry to the students and attract them to see the performance. Therefore, I combine difference kinds of the gestures and the glove puppetry’s elements as the visual pattern and use the vivid colors predominantly. It is easy for the young people to realize this traditional culture and accept it.

The Devil's Violinist Genre/ Poster Design Date/ March 2018 Designer/ Ching-Chun Shen Concept/ Niccolò Paganini was an Italian violinist and composer. He was the most celebrated violin virtuoso of his time, and left his mark as one of the pillars of modern violin technique. His compositions have served as an inspiration for many prominent composers and he is also called as the devil violinist in the mordent time. “The Devil Violinist” is a kind of musical lectures hold by Center of Humanities and Arts in the college. The purpose of the poster design is to introduce the Niccolò Paganini to the students and attract their curiosities. In order to convey the mysterious, surreal and unpredictable feeling of Niccolò Paganini, I use the real pictures and strong color to design the poster in collage and retro style. Hope that the students will be attracted and participate in the activity.

Taiwan Athlete Issue Genre/ Social Design, Interactive Design Date/ January 2017 Designer/ Ching-Chun Shen Concept/ In Taiwan, the problem about the recognition of athletes’ identity has always existed. It makes a lot of athletes withdraw from the national sports delegation. Furthermore, people in Taiwan do not feel concerned about the sports information, so the sports atmosphere and concept can’t be prevalent in the country. In order to let people rethink about this issue, I’ve designed a set of scratch cards. It is very glory for the athletes to won the awards; but it makes a fact that everyone think they will have a smooth and easy life in the future. Sadly, it’s not true. Therefore, there’s a strong contrast of reality between the athletes’ real life and people’s recognition.


Taiwan Athlete Issue

I’ve chosen different sports themes which Taiwanese athletes performances are significant in the international competition for this series of scratch cards’ design. The golden, silver and bronze medals printed on the card represent the glory. When the users scratch the scratch card, they will see an ironic saying that is related to each of different sports themes. In order to let the users get more information of athletics, there are different introduction of every athletes behind each scratch card.

Sanyi International Woodcarving Art Festival Genre/ Event Poster Design Date/ April 2014 Designer/ Ching-Chun Shen Concept/ Sanyi’s wood craft covers quite a large field in any possible way, it’s not only the limitless show of the art area, but it’s also the most important financial industry in Sanyi. In the agitation of art craft, cultural art and economical industry, we may see it becoming a very good mix of the local distinguishing feature, so that it can leads to popularize the international vision and become the most important link between the world and Miaoli. In my creation work of the project, I try to use different design methods of expression, in order to give more possibilities on the visual poster. Realistic, drawing, illustration, mixed media and vector creation, they are all quite big challenging task for me, but I’m letting myself to explore my limits and to discover more possibilities of me. Additionally, I especially want to tell the visitors that Sanyi International Woodcarving Art Festival is a special activity in Taiwan. Hence, in final chosen version, I combined the Chinese characters with woody material to represent its uniqueness around the world.

National Taiwan University Veterinary Hospital Genre/ Brand Identity Date/ January 2014 Designer/ Ching-Chun Shen Concept/ NATIONAL TAIWAN UNIVERSITY VETERINARY HOSPITAL’s aim is to promote animal’s medical care quality, to provide a great educational environment for the college, and to be the angel guardian of the animals. In this project, the great nature and warmness being the concept. In order to be close to the customers, I would like to provide the feeling of cuteness and warmness for the animals and the guardian once they get into the hospital. I have also added some nature’s elements, in order to make the animals feeling more comfortable and relaxed unlike how they usually felt anxious in the hospital.

CHIMERA BASE Genre/ Brand Identity Date/ June 2014 Designer/ Ching-Chun Shen Concept/ The Chimera was according to Greek mythology, a monstrous fire-breathing hybrid creature of Lycia in Asia Minor, composed of the parts of more than one animal. It is usually depicted as a lion, with the head of a goat arising from its back, and a tail that might end with a snake's head. In this project, CHIMERA BASE is a kind of game company, and the purpose of this project is to create mysterious and fantasy atmosphere for the players. Therefore, I use Chimera to be the main image as the logo, and choose yellow to express the energy and purple to convey the feeling of mysterious. In this game, players will be put in different kinds of fantasy world, and they will adventure with other players from different cities to enjoy the exciting and venturesome fantasy stories.

O MI MA Genre/ Package Design, Illustrarion Date/ June 2015 Designer/ Ching-Chun Shen Concept/ O MI MA braised snacks' brand aims to bring a natural, healthy, safe, nutritional and ecology feeling to everyone, so having farms as the concept of this brand, we hope that people can eat our O MI MA braised snacks without any worries and knows the source of every ingredient. [O MI MA] is a name bringing Taiwanese and Taiwan's image plus traditional flavor all together. The package is made from ecological material and it can be microwaved, which is a modern product as it is convenient and delicious.

This product design has farms, prints and totems, as visual design and involves a 2D to 3D concept. When we put all the packages together, it will form a complete picture of farm. Adding prints and totems in the package design, brings out a new traditional meaning which represents the traditional Taiwanese food. As the top lid covers the bottom box, the sun will be presented from the hole of the top lid and gives away the unique sunshine from inside out. Using warm colors to create appetites and to increase people's willing to buy.

MAM MA MIAM Genre/ Package Design, Illustrarion Date/ January 2017 Designer/ Ching-Chun Shen Concept/ With sufficient sunshine, people have developed in the southern area of Taiwan a distinguishing culture of noodles. Guan Miao Noodles is a kind of traditional Taiwanese noodles and there are three main species, such as Angel Hair Noodles, Fettuccine, and Sliced Noodles. A lot of citizens who live in Guan Miao are used to the flavor of Guan Miao Noodles. While they moved out from their hometown for work, they never forgot to bring some noodles with them to release their homesick. This is the reason why it became important for Guan Miao Noodles to become the famous food in Taiwan.

In order to satisfy people’s homesick, I have designed the visual pattern to represent the taste like mother’s recipe through the package. Each package has an image of things done by the mother for her kids, such as buying the kid’s favorite ingredients, preparing the meals, and cleaning the rooms. If you put these three packages together, it represents the mother’s daily life from outdoor to indoor. In addition, these three different kinds of the noodles are related with the different hairstyle of the mother, which makes the visual more interesting and funny.

Beauty's Eye Genre/ Package Design, Illustrarion Date/ November 2014 Designer/ Ching-Chun Shen Concept/ I have made the visual packaging design for Lugang’s specialties called [Beauty’s eyes] into 12 pieces’ box. The purpose of the project is to promte the Taiwanese traditional dessert to the tourists. Thus, I choose Taiwanese traditional pattern and totem as design’s concept, and use strong contrasting colors to make the patterns and the totems which can help the visual come out on the package and attract the customer’s eyes.
