Bilsthorpe Village Hall filled for heritage museum event

There was a full house at the Bilsthorpe Village Hall for the Heritage Museum event in February when community groups from the village joined to raise funds. Jerry Hague Labour candidate for Sherwood and District Council Labour candidates Adam Murphy for Bilsthorpe and Andy Szpuk for Rainworth and Rufford attended the event and took time to speak to the various participants. Jerry Hague said “ It was great to see so many community groups filling the hall

and contributing to a very worthwhile event. It shows what people have to offer when they volunteer to help their local area. I think of resolutions as my new year’s “intentions” instead which take the pressure off and makes the great things I want to achieve, even more exciting. This year, I am proud to be an ambassador for the Stroke Association’s Resolution Run events and I’m looking for everyone in Nottinghamshire to get involved too. We all know someone who has been effected by stroke but sadly it is still a condition that far too many people don’t understand or think will happen to them. The truth is that stroke is closer than most people think. The charity has research that shows regular exercise is one of the key ways to help reduce your risk and the good news is you don’t have to be an athlete to get started. Just dust off your running shoes, get your friends and family together and head out there. Every step counts on the road to recovery and prevention. By taking part you’ll be helping to support stroke survivors and their families as they rebuild their lives. These events are a great opportunity to stay fit and make new friends too. Council provides grants to improve home heating Last year Newark & Sherwood District Council supported more than 30 home owners (and two tenants renting from private landlords), to make their home warmer, potentially avoiding unnecessary hospital admissions due to cold-related illnesses.

Shine 4 cazi fundraising 2019 – London 2 Brighton here we come! Over the last five years many readers have followed my story and supported my fundraising activities in aid of Cancer Research UK, together we have raised a fantastic £25,000 so far to fund ongoing research into fighting Breast Cancer in memory of my beautiful wife and soulmate Cazi for which I am truly grateful. This year we would have been celebrating our twentieth wedding anniversary and after having completed five CRUK Shine Night Marathons, this year, I thought I would take on a new challenge so I have signed up to take on the 100K London 2 Brighton Ultra Marathon over the weekend of 25th and 26th May 2019. I will be setting off at 8am on Saturday 25th May from Richmond Park London, along with my friend Ellie who has taken on the last few Shine Marathons with me. We have decided to take on the whole 100k distance as a continuous challenge, it will certainly be tough as we will be powerwalking throughout the day and night

crossing the North and South Downs before finally crossing the finish line at Brighton Racecourse hopefully around 8am Sunday morning. I am extremely grateful for the support I have received over the years it is really appreciated; together we have made a real difference by helping to fund ongoing research into Breast Cancer so that others don’t have to face the journey my Cazi and others have faced. But let’s not stop there I want to continue to build a legacy in Cazi’s name, recently, other friends have been touched by Breast Cancer so I want to ensure that the vital research continues. I have been fortunate to see the incredible work first hand that CRUK Research Teams are doing so please help me by supporting my fundraising efforts.

I know Cazi will be with me every step of the way keeping me going she probably thinks I am bonkers for taking it on!!! Blidworth & District Historical & Heritage Society Our first meeting of 2019 was very well attended by our members and several guests, who hopefully are potential new members. The evening began with a short introduction into our recently updated website. Although we use the same domain name www.blidworthhistoricalsociety.co.uk it uses a totally new format which is, and always will be, a work in progress project. Our intention is to fill the website with information, stories and pictures about our village and the district. Currently there are 11 pages consisting of material about our upcoming events, member’s written contributions, useful links to other sites along with features on the old Scala cinema, local stones and monuments, the history of local farming, a school children village tour led by Will Richards in 1971 and a full page devoted to Matthew Clay, a brave Blidworth lad who fought at Waterloo, written by Christine Dabbs, a descendent of Matthew. Following a short session where we discussed enquiries submitted to our society via email about long lost Blidworth relatives, we moved onto our guest speaker for the evening. “The Duchess of Curiosities.” A story of the life and times of Lady Margaret Cavendish Holles Harley, Duchess of Portland, was the talk given by the extremely knowledgeable and gifted speaker Lily Anne Dawes.

Margaret, Duchess of Portland (1715 – 1785) married William Bentinck, 2nd Duke of Portland. She was an avid collector of curiosities and began collecting under the

name of Portland, setting up The Portland Museum of art and natural history. This exhibition celebrates her extraordinary life; friend of poet Matthew Prior, authors Jonathan Swift and Alexander Pope and patron of explorers Captain Cook and Joseph Banks. She was the owner of the famous Portland Vase which she purchased from Sir William Hamilton the husband of Lady Hamilton, best remembered as the mistress of Lord Nelson. As Margaret Cavendish-Harley she was also instrumental in her support of the “Blue Stocking” movement. A group of women who generally had more education and fewer children than most English women of the time and advocated women's education, status and the lifestyle expected of the women in their society. Lily Anne Dawes told us that King George III (Farmer George), Queen Charlotte and their 15 children were often guests of Lady Margaret and the Duke of Portland at Wel-

MP Mark Spencer launches Doorstep The Footworks Safety Campaign in Rainworth in Ravenshead The MP, who was joined by local Rainworth resident Tom Smith launched his safety campaign in the village via a video on Facebook.

Discussing his campaign, the MP said: “ I’ve been following what’s been going on in Rainworth over the past few days, and have been in contact with two local residents Tom Smith and Louis Brailsford and have been working out how best we can help try to put a stop to these rogue traders that the village has been getting recently. So, we’ve come up with our safety campaign.” “We’re sending one out to every household in the village, over 2000 all in all. It’s totally free so won’t cost you a penny. ‘‘When you get it through the door, stick it up on your window to send a clear message

– not in our community!”

She will be leaving you in the more than capable hands of Nicola Devine, who will be merging her existing practice ‘The Village Foot Clinic’ with the Footworks. All appointments booked from the 28th February will be carried out by Nicola, an experienced foot health practitioner , who is local to Ravenshead; her children attend the village school and her parents also live in Ravenshead. We’d like to wish Barbara a very happy retirement, and Nicola every success with her new venture.

Bilsthorpe Flying High Academy in top 3% in England for progress! Letter signed by Secretary of State for Education and Minister of State for School Standards -praises local school

A local primary school, Bilsthorpe Flying High Academy, has received a letter from Secretary of State for Education and the Minister of State for School Standards, praising the school for hitting the top 3% for progress in England. In the letter co-signed by Rt Hon Damian Hinds MP, Secretary of State for Education, and Rt Hon Nick Gibb MP, Minister of State for School Standards, the school is recognised as showing outstanding results for progress and for its high standards. It said, “Your school’s results, as published on 13 December, show progress scores of 4.5, 3.0 and 5.6 in English reading, writing and mathematics respectively. This means that in terms of progress your pupils make between Key Stage 1 and the end of Key Stage 2, your school is amongst the top 3% schools in England.” The letter goes on to say, “Thank you for producing such high standards through your hard work and professionalism, and congratulations again to you and your staff for all you have achieved.” Anne Ingle, Head Teacher at Bilsthorpe Flying High Academy said the letter came only a short time after the news that the school was ranked the county’s 6th highest performing in in tables measuring SATs results, attainment and progress; and also, the school’s recent ‘Good’ Ofsted report. “The last 12 months have been amazing!” said Anne. “We are incredibly proud of this new achievement because as a whole school, children and staff alike, we have been striving to be the best school in the world! The school plans to continue their agenda of research and development, looking at teaching and learning, the curriculum

and new pedagogy. “This news is such a welcome boost to the work we will continue to carry out. We have looked at the needs of our children and the wider community and developed our curriculum around thatchildren first in every decision made. Now everyone can see the outcome of that work, recognised by this letter, showing that we are doing the right thing for our children. Bilsthorpe Heritage Museum On Thursday, January 17th, Members Brian Jackson and Ron Chaplin gave a talk to the residents of Highfield Care Home, Edingley about the time in Bilsthorpe when the Colliery was still active. Afterwards, the residents looked at mining artefacts and enjoyed an interactive chat. On Monday, 21st January, a double-decker bus delivered sixty children plus staff from Mapplewells School, Sutton-in-Ashfield to the Museum for a look at mining artefacts, to watch a film on a colliery fire and to take a trip down “Memory Lane” viewing village artefacts.

On Thursday, 7th February, two Members attended a “Visit Nottingham” seminar at “The Embankment”, Trent Bridge and on Tuesday, 12th February, representatives attended a Tourist Action Group Meeting at Sherwood Forest, after which there was an opportunity to take a guided tour around the new Visitor Centre there. These events are a chance to meet other organisations in the area and to network and improve visitor experiences. Our Tabletop Sale & Coffee Morning on Saturday, 9th February was well-supported and £395 was raised for group funds. Member, Alan Ward called the raffle and

gave a vote-of-thanks. Our next fund-raising event will be a “Rummage Sale” on Saturday, 6th April in Bilsthorpe Village Hall, Cross Street from 10.00 am until 12.00 noon. Admission is 30p and includes your first drink and a door-entry raffle ticket for a grocery hamper.

To celebrate British Tourism Week, we shall be holding a “Mothering Sunday” photographic exhibition on Sunday, 31st March, Monday, 1st April and Sunday, 7th April from 10.00 am until 4.00 pm. admission is free and tea, coffee and biscuits will be served.

The Fishpool Gold Hoard at Ravenshead Library The Fishpool Gold Hoard is the largest hoard of medieval coins ever found in Britain. The find was made in March 1966 by workmen clearing the land for housing where Cambourne Gardens now stands, then in Fishpool, now of course in Ravenshead. The hoard consists of 1,237 coins, four rings, a sapphire pendant and a gold padlock. Most of the coins were English nobles, half nobles and quarter nobles, ranging in date from the reign of Edward III (1327-77) to the latest coins in the group – 63 coins of Edward V, issued between 1460 and 1464. The hoard also included 233 foreign coins. The hoard was probably buried in the Ravenshead area sometime between the

winter of 1463 and the summer of 1464, during a rebellion against the Yorkist king Edward IV. It may have formed part of the Lancastrian royal treasure entrusted to someone fleeing south after the Battle of Hexham (15th May 1464) and concealed by him with the help of a Lancastrian sympathiser. The find was declared treasure trove at Mansfield’s Coroners Court in December 1966 and as such became the property of the Crown. The face value of the hoard when deposited was about £400, equivalent to around £250,000 when it was discovered. The estimated value of the hoard in 2013 was nearly £1.2 million. The original gold hoard and jewellery are

on display in the British Museum. The examples on display at Ravenshead Library are worthless electrotype copies presented to Nottinghamshire County Libraries in 1966. They consist of an English noble (Edward IV), Scottish Gold Lion (James II), Anglo-Gallic Salut d’Or (Henry VI) and a French Ecu d’Or (Charles VII). Next time you are passing the Library, why not pop in and have a look at the copies of the coins? They are on display on the top floor (lift access available). We also have a large local heritage section, which includes maps and photographs of old Ravenshead plus copies of the Ravenshead Newsletter and St. Peter’s Parish Magazine dating back to the 1970s.

Remarkable Running The Abbey Gates cross country team have done it again! The team were excellent, in the girls race Erin came 36th out of 100 runners! To top it all, the boys ran exceptionally well with Jude racing into 1st place, Jacob coming in, a very close, 2nd place and Leo coming in 36th place.

On Wednesday 6th of February, some of our youngest children in year 1 took the audience on a tour around London in their assembly .They amazed us with the fantastic facts that they had remembered about London and entertained us with their singing and dancing - brilliant! Not to be outdone, the year 2 class were equally brilliant on Tuesday the 12th of February, when they treated everyone to an assembly that will surely save everyone from dragons. The audience were shocked when they discovered that a dragon had been sighted on the Abbey Gates premises. The children taught the audience how to trap the dragon and how to keep safe around fire. It was fascinating to watch! Well done to the year two’s for their incredible assembly.

Ravenshead C of E Primary School news This first spring half term has been a busy one and here are some of the fantastic things we have been up to:

Mansfield Town Football Club Our sponsored penalty shoot-out was a massive success and we raised almost £2000 for our school and Mansfield Town Football Club. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the children were awarded with a selection of certificates, footballs and tickets to see Mansfield Town Football club. We are really proud of this amazing achievement! Year 5 This month, Year 5 have really been getting stuck into their ‘Live ‘n’ Deadly’ topic. In their science lessons, they’ve been learning about animals and plants. They focused on metamorphosis in animals where creatures, like frogs, go through a dramatic physical and behavioural change! Their music lessons for this half term are based on the BBC’s ‘Ten Pieces’ and they’ve really enjoyed basing their listening and composition on a minimalist piece of music called ‘Short Ride in a Fast Machine’. In Maths, they’ve been looking at fractions which included learning about equivalence as well as comparing and ordering. Fractions can be tricky, but we have been really impressed with the children’s attitude and determination! It’s been a fantastic 6 weeks and we still have lots to look forward to during the second half of the spring term! Year 3 Year 3 have been very busy learning about the incredible invaders that were ‘The Vikings’. Recently they have worked really hard to design and create a protective and sturdy Viking shield. Here they considered

the purpose of the shield and even added in some Viking names and symbols. Alongside this fantastic art work, the children have also been increasing their knowledge about Van Gogh. The have created stunning recreations of ‘Starry Night’ by using oil pastels, paint and even doing batik.

British Values Week This half term we have been exploring the values of democracy, the rule of law, mutual respect, individual liberty and the acceptance of all faiths and beliefs. The children thoroughly enjoyed exploring these values in detail and produced some fantastic pieces of work to exhibit their understanding and commitment to these British Values. Year 2 Year 2 have enjoyed a super morning taking part in their African Drumming Workshop. The children each had a djembe drum and learnt about how they are made and where they come from. They then learnt and performed a traditional African drumming circle piece of music and a traditional African song. The session ended with a fun activity about different African animals. The children absolutely loved it and it linked with their Home and Away topic perfectly. Foundation Another busy half term has flown by and the children in Foundation have been working very hard. They have focused their learning this half term on stories from different countries that link into our well known Nursery Rhymes. They visited Africa with Fatou who had to collect water from the well, just like Jack and Jill. They then met Anansi the spider who was also

Visit from Hawthorne Primary’s school dog Pixel, the school dog from Hawthorne Primary School, came in with his owner to see our children. This was a fantastic opportunity for the children to find out why they decided to have a dog and the positive impact it has had on children and staff. There was also an opportunity for children to ask some questions to help them explore the benefits of a school dog. This all links to our very exciting plan to have our own school dog. The children and staff can not wait!

Abbey Medical Group Patient Participation Group (PPG) As things change in health and care nationally, locally and within our GP surgeries, it becomes so important to involve patients and carers in improving our services. Health for Kids aims to help primary school children think about how they can stay healthy and be more aware of issues, including exercise, sun protection, healthy eating, puberty and sleep. The website has been created with the help of primary school children and focuses on the type of information, support and advice they would find most useful when thinking about illness and staying healthy. Illnesses and conditions that may affect youngsters — such as asthma, diabetes, allergies and head lice, as well as emotional wellbeing linked to bullying and anxiety — are also explained. Commissioned by Nottinghamshire County Council and developed and managed by Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, the facility will provide general content and specific items localised to Nottinghamshire. The website advises what children should do in an emergency, as well as what constitutes an emergency, and explains the role

of a school nurse and a doctor.

Pinders donates over £3000 to local charity

Pinders will soon be announcing their 2019 Charity of the Year and first fundraising initiative for the chosen organisation.

Local independent Pinders Opticians, which has five practices in North Nottinghamshire, has announced their charity fundraising total for 2018. Throughout the year, the practices supported Reach Learning Disability, an organisation that supports people with learning disabilities in Nottinghamshire. Pinders managed to raise a total of £3660.66, which they recently presented to Reach. Each year, Pinders selects a different local charity or not for profit organisation to support for the next 12 months. To raise funds for Reach in 2018, Pinders organised a range of charity events throughout the year including a book sale, raffle and a fashion show.

“2018 was a phenomenal year for us and we had a lot of fun raising all that money for Reach in the process,” said Peter Herniman, Director at Pinders Opticians. “A big thank you to Reach and my super Pinders team for a great collaborative effort last year. Council to help first-time buyers in Mansfield First-time buyers in Mansfield will soon find it easier to climb that first rung of the housing ladder thanks to a new mortgage scheme being launched by Mansfield District Council and the Mansfield Building Society. The scheme, which will be piloted for a year, could enable tenants in private rented accommodation to purchase their first home in the district. It enables people to buy a home in the district for between £130,000 and £170,000 with the assistance of a mortgage from Mansfield Building Society that requires only a 2.5% deposit. This is because the council will act as a guarantor for the other 2.5% deposit. Normally the best home loan Mansfield Building Society is able to offer is a 95% mortgage, but finding a 5% deposit can prove difficult for many would-be buyers in this area. With the council indemnifying 2.5% of the mortgage, Mansfield Building Society has been able to increase the amount of the loan to 97.5% of the value of a home. This means that, for example, on a £150,000 home, first-time buyers in Mansfield now only need to find a deposit of £3,750 instead of £7,500 needed to access a minimum 5% deposit mortgage. Buyers will also be able to apply for an interest-free loan from the council, once the purchase has been completed, to help with new home expenses. Executive Mayor Kate Allsop said: “This

new mortgage scheme will be a fantastic boost for both first-time buyers and for the local housing market as a whole. “Saving for a large deposit has been a massive barrier for many people in taking that first step in home ownership. This scheme will help those people who are falling short of the deposit they need. “The council’s interest-free loan will help buyers over another hurdle in purchasing a home – the cost of moving.” Gev Lynott, Chief Executive of Mansfield Building Society, said the scheme would give a real boost to local people who might otherwise struggle to get on the housing ladder, specifically those on the “rental treadmill”. He said: “The Low Deposit Mortgage Lending Scheme enables people to escape the downsides of paying away a monthly rental cost that can often be higher than the equivalent monthly mortgage cost. “By launching this product with Mansfield District Council, we will help more people to become homeowners in good quality housing. “Not only can applicants access a mortgage with a deposit of just 2.5%, they will also benefit from The Mansfield’s personal service; we recognise that everyone is different, and we therefore apply an individualised, common sense lending approach. “We are delighted to be demonstrating our continued commitment to local people in our heartland area.” The scheme does not see the council paying

anything towards the cost of people buying a home. However, if a borrower does not keep up with their mortgage payments and Mansfield Building Society has to repossess the property, the council would have to pay to the society 2.5% of the total loan. In addition to acting as a guarantor, the council is also offering an interest-free loan for new home expenses. This loan of up to 1.5% of the property purchase price will be repayable over 6 years. It can be used for new home expenses such as new furniture, white goods and curtains. It is hoped that the scheme will encourage more people to become home owners in the area and create movement in the local housing market. It is expected to help around 16 first-time buyers during the pilot period. If successful and further council funding is available, the scheme could be rolled out to more mortgage providers in the future. Terms and conditions apply to the scheme including: Buyers must take a mortgage out with Mansfield Building Society. Homes bought must be within the district. The scheme cannot be used by tenants exercising their right to buy a council or housing association home. Buyers must be currently in the private rented sector. What is happening at your GPs? I know it is getting harder and harder to see your doctor. Partially this is because the nhs often does not share information with patients and the public, to keep them informed about the pressures on ever decreasing resources. But we as patients have to try and help. Firstly, each month many patients are failing to keep these valuable appointments with the gp, nurse or healthcare professional. Last month at our practice alone over 142 appointments missed. This means 37 hours wasted…at an average cost of £7000 plus. In mid notts we have 43 gp practices – which means 43 doctors/nurses lost that month for a week. !!!And this is patient error.!!! So please everyone remember to cancel your appointment if you can’t make it. Then the practice can fill that space. And, don’t leave it till an hour before. As it might well be too late to fill that precious space. I know many people may feel this is not about me. But a medical crisis can happen to anyone at any time. We are not perfect. To help particuarly those who work or

can’t get to the gp surgery during the day we now have extended hours………. In our local area the gp practices have been offering extended hours for patients to see a doctor or nurse. This is called the sherwood extended access hub.. Appointments are available to those patients registered with newark & sherwood practices. These can be booked over the phone or in reception. You will need to consent to your records being shared with the sherwood extended access hub to ensure the best care is given. Sadly, if consent is not given you will not be able to be seen within this hub. What is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder? PTSD is a psychiatric disorder that can occur following the experience or witnessing of a life-threatening events such as serious accidents, military combat, being in a war zone, being affected by earthquakes or other natural disasters, terrorist incidents. It can also affect those people who have trauma through physical or sexual assault in adult or childhood. People who have faced a traumatic experience, may simply feel emotionally numb to begin with. Alternatively feelings of distress may not emerge straight away, but it is possible that emotional and physical reactions may develop and changes in behaviour occur. These symptoms may mean you are suffering from PTSD. Symptoms may include: Reliving aspects of the trauma •vivid flashbacks (feeling that the trauma is happening all over again) •intrusive thoughts and images •nightmares or disturbed sleep •intense distress at real or symbolic reminders of the trauma •irritability and aggressive behaviour •lack of concentration •extreme alertness •panic response to anything to do with the trauma •being easily startled. These are all quite common reactions to a traumatic event, and many people find the symptoms will disappear in a rela-

tively short period of time. But if they last for longer than a month, or they are very extreme, you may be given a diagnosis of PTSD. PTSD can occur after experiencing or witnessing traumatic events such as: •military combat, •serious road accidents, •terrorist attacks, •natural or man-made disasters, •being held hostage, •violent deaths, and •violent personal assaults, such as sexual assault, mugging or robbery. PTSD may also occur in any other situation where a person feels extreme fear, horror or helplessness. However, it does not usually develop after situations that are upsetting, such as divorces, job losses or failing exams. Someone with PTSD often relives the traumatic event through nightmares and flashbacks. They may also have problems concentrating and sleeping, and feel isolated and detached. These symptoms are often persistent and severe enough to have a significant impact on a person’s day-today life. What happens to us? When we experience a trauma we are bombarded with a massive amount of information. This can be so overwhelming we are unable to process it. Normally when information is processed properly by the brain the emotion associated with the event

subsides. This means that we are able to rationalise the situation. Unfortunately, sometimes the information is not processed. Consequently anything that triggers a reminder of the situation will bring back the emotion just as strongly as if we are re-experiencing the event now. An example of this would be a soldier who had been traumatised by gunshots in the battlefield. The sound of a car backfiring could be a trigger that brings back the exact emotion that he experienced at the time. How can our treatments and techniques help? Our therapy treatment for PTSD includes EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) which helps to process the unprocessed information the client has experienced. Also included in our treatment plan is HCBT (Hypno Cognitive Behavioural Therapy). This uses Hypnotherapy in a structured way to change automatic negative thoughts to automatic positive thoughts. Manager Saxby sets his sights on next season

Manager Lewis Saxby says his team building plans for next season start now. Saxby was speaking at the end of a three week period in which his Rainworth MW side effectively ended any relegation worries with back to back wins, but also tumbled out of the League Cup – the one trophy which had still been available to them – at the quarter-final stage. So now, while seeing the current campaign out, the Wrens’ boss is eyeing up potential transfer targets to bring in so that next season they will hit the ground running. Saxby’s concern is the continuing Jeckyll and Hyde nature of his troops, who began the period under review with a thumping 5-1 victory out of adversity over fifth placed Barrow Town, who had lost just once in

their previous nine outings. The Wrens had only a threadbare squad available, but the squad players who came in turned in the performance of their lives, and it was a shame that it was witnessed by their lowest home attendance of the season. Facing the elements they achieved a total shut out of their high riding visitors and, for good measure, Max Curzon provided a 1-0 interval lead. Then with the wind behind them, the Wrens ran riot and a quickfire double from youngsters Charlie Hardwick and Ethan Wiesztort had them 3-0 up. Barrow pulled one back, but any hopes of a fightback by the Leicestershire visitors was quickly put to bed as Will Spray and Josh Henry completed the rout. The following week the Wrens were on their travels to Eastwood, two second half goals overturning a 1-0 interval deficit. Keeper Andy Francis brilliantly saved an 11th minute penalty by the Badgers, but was beaten from the spot before half time. However, five minutes into the second half Liam Jepson’s cross-cum-shot took a wicked deflection off a defender and ended up in the net for the equaliser, and Wiesztort was alive to a goalkeeping error to win possession and walk the ball into the net 10 minutes from time. The six points thus gained lifted the Wrens three places up the league table, but that was where the good news ended. A depleted side made the trip down the A617 to big-spending Newark Flowserve for their League Cup quarter-final tie, where three very late goals helped the league leaders

to a 5-0 victory, a scoreline which was then repeated the following Saturday at Heanor Town, which saw Rainworth drop back to third from bottom. They are, however, 13 points clear of the bottom two who are running out of games to have any real hope of overhauling them in the remaining weeks of the season. At the time of writing forthcoming fixtures for the remainder of February and March are, all Saturdays: 23rd Feb, Selston (h); 2nd March, West Bridgford (a); 9th, Clifton All Whites (a); 16th, Radford (h); 23rd, Teversal (a); 30th, Graham ~Street Prims (h). The Tomlin Personnel Stadium will also be hosting the League Cup semi-final between Newark Flowserve and Radford on Tuesday, 12th March.
