AlfresChlo A seasonal guide to cooking & local food.
AlfresChlo A seasonal guide to cooking & local food. Following the pandemic, consumers are “opting for products that support the global environment and their local community” (Stylus, 2020) The BBC predict “uplift in local and seasonal eating” (BBC, 2020)
Local and seasonal go hand in hand
Eating food that is in season is more important than ever right now. Not only does eating seasonally mean better tasting food and at a cheaper price, it also means a more sustainable way of eating. Reducing the demand for out of season produce is far kinder to the environment - and makes for lots of variety in our fruit and vegetables throughout the changing seasons.
Alfreschlo is a free monthly e-book/ magazine for each county in England to provide information on local markets and producers along with recipes on how to best use the seasonal ingredients. Why Seasonal?
