LOST and FOUND by Henry Castle

his is the story of a Ferguson TED 20. Registration LWD 149. 1st registration 04.01.1952 VIN TED 2388? Manufactured 12 March 1948 During the 1960s I was employed by Twyford Seeds Ltd, Adderbury, Banbury. Oxon, as their trials officer. I used to drive the Fergie to drill, spray and harvest the trial plots. After I left Twyfords the tractor went to Cambridge Plant Breeders.

The 3rd registration was on 12.07.2011 to a member of another major club. He managed to do a full restoration with most of its faults corrected. Clutch cleaned, brakes adjusted and electrics sorted. Finally a complete respray having taken all the component parts apart. I have photos of all the restoration process. After the restoration it was sold to a man in Maryculter, Aberdeenshire, Scotland on 12 10.2011. I managed to get all the Registration Certificates (V5C) via the DVLA.

The 2nd registration was in the name of a man in the Ferguson Club on 29.09 1981. He then sold his land and gave the Fergie to the local council for children to play on! At some point in its life it was painted green. It was discovered that it was a converted TEA to TED.

Since then the Fergie has been used at ploughing matches, demonstrations at a local museum and attending local shows etc, It won the Best Ferguson and Implement, a Ferguson Crane, at the last show before the COVID-19 lock down.
